Quiet place and cleaned up with good administration.

Great affordable rooms really close to the beach. Clean place friendly staff. Clean pool and Jacuzzi would definitely recommend staying here.

Place is kids friendly, room is nice and clean. Price is affordable. Staff is friendly.

The least expensive room for a holiday weekend, as soon as we walked into the room, I said ahhhh! no carpet! great beds, clean bathrooms, NO PETS! COMFORTABLE DESIGNATED SMOKING AREA. :) :) go to Seaus dinner, unbelievable food and great service. Try the pancakes.

I really liked the place. Simple and sweet. Value for your money! I rather stay in a quaint place like this where I can chill and reheat my leftovers than a high priced hotel where I can't enjoy things the way I want to enjoy it!

Sucks. The noise from the road. The internet is not always connected. Overpriced.

Worst place ever I came from out of town to work booked for 4 days spoke to booking told them I was driving in if possible to get early check inn they said yes we will accommodate you so made the 2 hour drive in got here at 12 and my room not ready ok I went to work for the day come back now it's 430ish and guess what room not ready check in is at 4 ummm what's up man says it's not my fault I just got here ok so I look in back and what do I see all the maids laughing hanging out when man tells lady were here for our room she laughs and says in Spanish they can wait and laughs are u kidding me I should have listened to the other yelp users warning me not to go to this place please please take these reviews serious this is a place u don't want to stay.

If you need a cheap room this place usually has the lowest price around. Just remodeled and is very clean. Nothing fancy but beds are comfortable. No atmosphere on the outside, just an old motel. Nice guest clerks. Free coffee in the morning in the office.

Stayed in a king room 202, was clean, frigerator in room, bed very comfortable, no noise, went in clean Jacuzzi was awesome to relax in… NO BED BUGS OR SPIDERS. We read the reviews and they were wrong! Overall we had a wonderful time. Will stay here again :) :)

I have stayed inthis motel because it was cheaper than motel 6. Would sleep uned a bridge better than here. The window in the bathroom had been open when we checked in bed bugs waked me up couple hours later first time in my life I could not go to sleep again from on to 10 I would give 2, learned my lesson you get what you pay for.

Stay away from this place. It's a dump. It is dirty, old furnishings, unkempt surroundings and motel staff that seemed content when discrepancies were pointed out. It's better to drive further than stay here. My all time worst experience staying in a motel ANYWHERE.

Clean place. Friendly staff that would leave you alone, just how it suppose to be. Good view of mountain in the back. Not so far away from a cute little town with beach and lot of things to do across the express way. This hotel is not luxurious but very sufficient.

In a pinch, like we were, this will do for somewhere to sleep & shower. Steep stairs & no elevator, lots of 101 traffic noise & not squeaky clean. Funky but relatively close to Carpinteria.

Had a great stay at SandyLand. The staff was fun and friendly. The grounds and rooms were clean. Would and did go back again.

A good budget motel. Nice facilities for the price. But rooms right next to freeway is a problem.

I booked a room for my family to stay visiting from SF area. The room was nice, however, the people that were hanging around the hotel were trash! There was a drunk guy, smoking and spouting off from the balcony, gangster looking guys, talking on the phone loudly and some white trash tweaker types too out and about late at night. Some of the other room guests were rude, disrespectful and entitled, claiming the area as their own with disregard for the comfort of others. It made my family nervous to leave the room! One of said rude guests called our room in an attempt to reprimanded us for removing his clothes from the dryer. We waited, giving him ample time to claim his clothing, before removing his items to dry ours. He saw that we were using the washer, and common sense and etiquette would tell you to set a timer and get your things in a timely manner so that other's can use the facilities… Very frustrating! The management should really do something about these folks, because the room was nice and the pool was relaxing, and the location is convenient.

The guy was really rude to us. They actually refused us service at midnight as the guy took offense with how my friend signed the documents. It was a shame to stand on such silly principle as feeling disrespected or whatever nonsense this guy felt and used his authority to deny us a place to stay after a long weekend. Thank god there are still kind people out there, can't say the staff acted in a manner. But it's sad when people stand on such silly principle they can't lend a helping hand. Isn't that the point of life? To be human not leave people stranded on the street after they paid for a room because you are upset that your first customer didn't give you the respect you are looking for after they've been traveling all day. So hospitable.

It is a good place to rest and is accessible to go to visit other places.

All in all good hotel but Price is pretty High.

I'm infuriated! Two 20-year-old girls traveling back to school, with a reservation at 1030pm at night. They arrive and are refused a room because they are not 21. What do they do now? BOO to your lack of consideration and policy! And your I don't care attitude is unacceptable!

Hotel Simple and clean, nice big bed with nice linens. Well located and quiet, a very nice outdoor area. It has a minibar.

This inn is great for the price and definitely cheapest in the area. However it can use some improvements. For one, a microwave in the room would be nice. Also depending on which room you have, the Wi-Fi connections is sometimes not the best.

Three weeks here and staff was awesome. Room was updated and clean. For the price, best place to stay in Carpinteria. Don't let other reviews steer you away.

Had an incident with some other people staying there harassing my girlfriend and I and we didn't feel safe. The owner did nothing of it and was rude. He didn't refund us our money and it was very over priced. Never coming here again and I would stay away. They also got an ant problem.

Some rooms have flat screen tv's… not the ones over the front desk. Rooms are just o. K. Standard bed, dresser, night stands and a chair that I wouldn't sit my luggage in. They have an ant problem… could be the heat.

Terrible owner he is rude and impolite. Overpriced. Terrible TV reception. Animal lovers stay away.

Roaches, parking sucks and recieved fax with personal credit/debit cards, birthdays and some other personal info on the backside of the paper charged me for the room twice and took a week to get it back and the customer service sucks.

I stayed at this hotel in March 2014. Staff was rude and unhelpful. I requested a new towel because there were short black hairs all over the towel in my bathroom. They did not give me one. I expressed that the hair all over the towel was not mine, and I simply could not use this towel. The man at the check-in said, "Sorry, it's complicated". I was not given a clean towel that day or the following day. Apparently it is too "complicated" for this establishment to keep clean towels on hand. It's pretty safe to say I won't be returning.

We were looking for a good priced hotel just to crash for the night. It was reasonably prices and had good value. The parking lot was full, but we got the last room, so that's to be expected. I had no major complaints and would stay there again if passing through.

Having lived in Carpinteria and now going back as a visitor, I've seen pretty much most of the places available for travelers, and Sandyland Reef Inn is one place I will definitely stay at again. Even though, yes — the parking lot is crammed at night — and the rooms are just a bit small, I enjoyed my stay there. It was quiet, even with the proximity to the frontage road and the freeway, its still very close to downtown Carpinteria w/o being right in the thick of it, and far away enough from Santa Barbara. I couldn't hear ANY of our neighbors at night, I thought that overall it was a very decent place to stay. I also liked the motion lights in the parking lot that followed you as you moved about. Its no four star hotel, but if you're just looking for a place to sleep at night, this is better than most. Mind you, they are double beds, so trying to squeeze two into a bed is pretty tight! We slept head to feet and it was fine.

Great place to stay confy yet very roomy for 1 or 2 adults n one or two child. Blocks away from venice beach other attract. Have fun.

My friends and I recently went on a trip to Santa Barbara and one of them made the reservations. When I arrived to the hotel I was not really impressed but I kept my comments to myself. We checked in, and then proceeded to go to our room, when we arrived I was fairly surprised that the bed was actually very comfortable and new. We went to dinner in SB and when we came back to my surprise the parking lot was packed so we ended up getting a bottle of wine and headed towards the jacuzzi, it was very relaxing and quiet. The walls are vey thing because our neighbor in the next room slept with the TV on all night. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is the size of the room and the furniture needs tobe updated. I guess the saying is right" You get what you paid for" since we only used the room to sleep I would consider coming back to this place.
