Quiet, calming atmosphere and extremely clean.

Pros: Very nice, clean, room. Full free breakfast. Nice pool, and plenty of grass spots for dogs. Close to grocery store, Starbucks etc. Cons: I put the fact that I was bringing my dog in the notes section when making my reservation online. Called to confirm and mentioned it again. Showed up and was told "no rooms available for dogs as they only have a certain number of those. If I hadn't argued the point they would have had me walk out the door. Took 3 quite rude staff members 15 minutes whispering in a corner to find a way to accomodate us. Got in the room and the toilet was broken (with previous use "stuff" in it). Took a couple of visits by different maintenance staff to get that fixed. Although the pool is nice the pictures make it look 3 times the size it actually is. And it was packed the majority of the time. It's a crazy amount of money for what you get… but it's close to Santa Barbara so you really don't have a choice.

Loved staying here! My family and I stay here every summer to surf and whatnot, and I cannot find anything to complain about here. The continental breakfast is great, room service is great, and the location is perfect, will definitely be staying here again soon.

Great pool and hot tub. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Great location with easy access to downtown Carpentaria and the beach, as well as a good running/walking/biking trail.

I was very impressed with the Holiday Inn. Their pool & hot tub light up at night, so my daughter was excited about that along with the snack store in the front lobby. The sheets & towels were super white & clean! The continental bfast was on point with hot foods like eggs, veggie omelettes, pancakes, bacon & more, the patio seating option made it even more pleasant. Will definitely come back.

Nice hotel with friendly service. Complementary breakfast also have a pool are and some exercise equipment. Clean rooms with nice beds. Cant beat the location everything you need is within walking distance.

I stay there once a month for business. The staff remembers me and is very nice. The rooms are clean and quiet. I have stayed at another hotel in Carpinteria, once (Holiday Inn Express was booked). I will never go there again. My only suggestion is they start serving the breakfast at 6:30 am and I have to be at work at that time. It would be nice if they could start at 6 am.

Loved staying here. Love staying at all the holiday inns! The only thing I didn’t love was breakfast but that’s cause I’m pretty picky! My husband loved it. Haha beds are comfy and the rooms are quite big. Bathroom was nice and the room was very clean.

We booked 3 rooms for a graduation. Had everything ready when we arrived. Rooms were clean and had refrigerator and microwave which was convenient. Breakfast in morning was continental style an also convenient.

Beautiful hotel that's conveniently located near shops and restaurants and right off the highway. Close proximity to Santa Barbara.

Clean beds, decent layout rooms, clean restroom, decent lighting, good area, seemingly plenty of parking albeit not all front row, mini fridge, microwave, TV with HDMI access.

Free breakfast in the morning. Though you may pay a little more for your room, you should be able to make up for that because Holiday Inn provides breakfast. In addition to two queens or a single King you still have available a sofa bed to use.

Clean and quiet as always. Front desk staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. From switching our rooms to switching our method of payment they were helpful pleasant to work with.

Had a pleasant stay, pricier than other HI Express bc of proximity to the coast.

The rooms are spacious and clean. I'll be back that way again and I'll definitely stay there.

I always enjoy staying at the holiday inn. Never really have any problems with it. I would highly reccomend staying at the holiday inn express. They have a great breakfast and great service.

Fantastic room and service! We had to make a last minute reservation due to an emergency and they have been very accommodating to our needs.

Rooms were very clean, pool/jacuzzi were great, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was good. Will definitely stay here in the future.

Probably the best lodging in Carpinteria — — a little on the pricey side, but had a very nice room and the amenities were very good. I liked that there was an extra pillow and blanket in a bag in the room; the mattress was really excellent and that there was both a working fridge and microwave in the room. Plenty of plugs for our equipment too. They even had Advil for sale at the front desk when I needed some. It's well located in town, too. The back door was unlocked the whole time we were there, despite the fact that it said we needed to use a key card to get in. That made me uncomfortable at night. There were people hanging around it and smoking all the time. Otherwise, it was fine.

Comfortable and clean rooms. Breakfast leaves a little to be desired but not terrible. No complaints. Will return again.

It's a Holiday Inn Express, so it's clean, with decent amenities. Room was spacious with double queens + sofa area. Breakfast was okay, with a slow pancake machine instead of waffle makers, slightly questionable "bacon, " but also most of what you'd normally want. Close to grocery, coffee shops, restaurants.

It was really good staying at Holidy Inn, stayed for a week. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. Room services was really good, room always clean. Breakfast was good and fresh. The only thing that you might want to consider is that sometimes you can hear the people walking in the hallway outside your room, so ask for quiter rooms. If that doesn't bother you, then everything else is good.

Rooms looked recently renovated and were well done and designed. Insulation was poor like most hotels, but worse than average. Staff generally had a good attitude, but at check-in I was passed over when I clearly had arrived before another patron. It may have been inadvertent, but I arrived three minutes prior, was in a line of three people (the one being helped, me, and the one who arrived after). He's white and I'm Asian — not left with many other alternatives to guess as to why it happened. It wasn't worth ruining my stay to confront the clerk over so I dropped it.

I loved it here! My room was huge, the bed was super comfy, the A/C worked like a dream, and the free breakfast was tasty and delicious. The pool and spa area was spotless and beautiful with several nice lounge chairs, tables, and umbrellas. I was also pleased to find a washer and dryer just down the hall from my room. I was obsessed with the landscaping of the hotel — Everywhere I walked I spotted a different kind of plant to admire and the scent of fresh flowers wafted through the air — seriously! I was overall very impressed and I would come back again in a heartbeat.

Location is perfect, just off the freeway and walking distance from the beach. Rooms are very spacious and clean, with plenty of amenities. Staff is very helpful always professional.

Thin walls. We can hear the neighbors, in what sounds like normal conversation. Breakfast is well done, rooms are nice. Except we found some men's underwear in our bathroom… Clearly it wasn't cleaned very well! Update: Last night here, it's 7AM and I'm awake listening to the person in the next room snore. The only reason for more than one star is the staff has been helpful and nice during all our interactions.

What a rip off! They were very rude! I booked my room online and thought I booked Saturday but the app kept crashing. I called to confirm and they said it was booked. When I arrived they said I was a no show for the night before and they charged for 2 nights when I only wanted one night. They refused to refund me. I am filing a complaint with my bank. Don't stay here! Horrible customer service! And they are trying to rip me off!

Stayed here and it was amazing front desk has toiletries such as floss, tooth paste/tooth brush etc. super friendly and helpful staff, and even an continental breakfast in the morning!

Saying hi to visiting friends. Rooms were clean and fairly spacious. It appears to have a clean and nice pool area. My friends were satisfied although it seemed pricy to them.

Above average motel with large rooms and a n adequately equipped gym. There's a small pool, a kiosk at the front entrance, and well stocked breakfast in the morning. Ask for a room away from the highway to get more sleep. If you arrive Sunday night, local food options are limited. You may have more luck driving up to Santa Barbara for a late snack.

Everything smells good and clean. Not over powering good smells that mask something bad. Staff so far is friendly. I haven't had the breakfast yet so nothing to comment on there. The bed is too stiff for me but it works. Don't get a room right next to an exit. You'll be woken up all night by those coming and going.

Good breakfast with hot and cold options. Wi-Fi was reliable. A nice oceanside bike trail is just 0.5 mi. Away (turn right on Dump Rd)

Oh wow… What a bad experience. So if u r traveling to Carpinteria without a car then this might nit be the best place to stay. Hotel has no shuttle service even though they know that they r so awkwardly situated that no one comes from LAX. My taxi billed me on metered fare $255 to and $355 from Carpinteria. The hotel itself does not have a simple item called "potatoes" in breakfast. The walls and roof is made of thin paper so that u can count each and every step. Oh yes, BTW when I complained the hotel staff was complacent and a bit rude. According to them if there is no one right above my room, how can there b any noise. So what abt next door… But too lazy or rude to investigate either. BTW no manners of greeting in phone. Someone wud shout saying out of the phone, "yes front desk". No one taught them manners to say good morning/afternoon/evening. Well or it can just be that it happened with me. As far as I know, I travel to the US quite often and have never found Americans rude to their guests. This is perhaps an isolated incident where irrespective of the staff they did not have manners to speak (except for two staff members who were very kind). Anyways… not coming back here for sure!

I needed a place to stay overnight with my girlfriend and I picked this Holiday Inn because it was geologically convenient. Turns out that both management and employees were more than helpful with all questions and requests. Also, I needed guidance to what's there to do in Santa Barbara which they were more than happy to help me with. With confidence, I am able to give my girlfriend a memorable much needed getaway weekend for her birthday. I thank for their time and effort to helping ensure that I enjoy my stay and their hospitality is much appreciated.

I love this place. Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean and smell nice, pool is close to rooms and staff is friendly. Close to beach and quaint eateries.

Awesome hotel with great facilities.

I coach a travelling soccer team and so we normally need accommodations for large groups. We stayed here Friday night and checked out on Sunday. Our games were played in Goleta so it was a 30 minute drive to the venue which isn't too bad. The prices in Goleta and SB were much higher than what we paid for this hotel. We made a few changes to our reservation and the manager was very easy to deal with and I was surprised at how easily he accommodated our request. Each room was awesome! Our team consists of boys under 12yrs and their families travelling with us so it was nice to have the sofa in the room that turns into a bed. There is a flat screen TV which is a huge plus! Positives for this hotel: easy check in/out — nice rooms — lots of parking — kid friendly pool — great location ie stores, freeway, food — very close to beach — overall great presentation of hotel and clean. Negative: our only item that we could see needs improvement would be the jacuzzi. It is small but mostly because all our parents wanted to enjoy it but it was full. Otherwise we are planning to stay here again.

Make a reservation at a certain rate, then you arrive and its 60 bucks more, do not stay here unless you have your rate in writing. Nice scam.

I stayed for 7 consecutive weeks in this Holiday Inn Express. I left 4 shirts at the hotel accidentally when checking out during my 7th week. When I reported them about the shirts at the reception, the lady there told me that she will check with the housekeeping and call me back. She didn't call me back and also didn't find my shirts. I went to check-in in the hotel for my 8th week stay (I work in Carpinteria and so staying inthe hotel during the work week), I asked them about the shirts and also asked them why they didn't call me back with the info they got from theri housekeeping. The same lady was there at the reception. She was very rude with no apology and "go away, we don't care whether or not you stay here" attitude. I told her that I'm a long term guest at the hotel and was planning to continue to stay at the hotel but due to the way the hotel staff handled this issue, I feel bad and don't feel like extending my stay there. She said "where you stay is your choice". They finally lost my shirts and I left the hotel without checking in for the 8th week. I, however, sent an email to the manager to inform him of the issue and his response was also not apologetic and he als mentioned that "where you stay is your choice". So, bottomline, someone from theri staff stole my shirts, they didn't take responsibility nor did they apologize and they didn't make me feel welcome in their hotel. Find a better place with a better staff.

Can't complain about the place. It has a Microwave, fridge, nice king size bed and flat screen TV. Overall great experience. Free coffee and free breakfast.
