We stayed a night there last week and it was the best. The staff was super friendly, the room was gorgeous and clean, the breakfast in a basket was a neat touch too! Loved that we had our own fireplace. Can’t wait to go back!

Beautifully situated hotel, room was amazing and very close to town where all the food and shops are. However we were on our honeymoon and booked this hotel solely because it's a hotel and Spa. We got there only to learn that there was no one on staff for spa services… in fact there was very little staff at all. Then I got a lecture about booking in advance for spa services on top of my disappointment. I understand things in town were slow and lots of places were closed or understaffed, it was a lesson indeed not to do things on the fly in Cambria it's a small town with small town rules of thumb that I was emotionally unequipped for. A nice woman at the desk comped a couple of glasses of wine and to be fair we booked same day. Not bad, but being a honeymooner looking forward to my first spa experience, I was fairly disappointed. Very much still recommend giving this hotel a try but call ahead for any service you have your eye on.

Beautiful rooms. King woodsman suite is amazing. Amazing fireplaces in rooms. Wine bar in main enteramce to hotel. Very recommended.

Hotel has been amazing close to all attractions in the area and quick access to the highway. Staff has been amazing very professional and taking care of all my needs. A must stay in this area!

We had 2nd floor room near the spa/hot tub room, our room was nice. Wife enjoyed the spa tub in our room there were a few problems though, the fireplace had a problem we had them in to fix it twice and then it went out at 11:30 pm got a little chilly and the steam showers were not working and haven't in some time. Staff was really nice room was a 4 star rating in my book. We will return.

This was our first time in Cambria and My husband and I chose it since I had read it was a quiet, romantic little town. We are so happy we chose the Colibri. It is a very quiet small hotel but that is what we loved about it. We reserved the king suite with the jacuzzi and the room was perfect for our stay! The bed was very comfortable. We were celebrating our 20 yr anniversary and had such a great time. The hotel was walking distance to downtown and the beach which we did both multiple times while there. Took advantage of wine and beer tasting downtown! It took us 25 minutes to drive to Morro Bay For the day and only 10 to the cute milking town of Harmony. If you go a MUST is Harmony wine tasting there! Overall and excellent experience. Thank you to the wonderful staff at the hotel. We will MOST DEFINITELY be back!

Gave us wine coupons and then didn't honor them when we checked out. The hot tub was out of service the whole time we were there. Fireplace didn't work consistently. The best part of our stay was Charles who has exceptional customer service.

Small town — no Uber. They have one guy named Ron with a blue van and he brings his small dog to take you places. Creepy. Would not recommend the Hotel and spa — as the spa is a large co-ed steam shower and a ladies and men’s bathroom.

Excellent hotel with comfortable and we'll appointed suites. The hotel is located close to the historic Cambria downtown and next to the beautiful Moonstone beach walking path.

Nice place on the coast tucked away. 2 mins drive to town centre, only thing has no restaurant there.

Clean, quiet, pretty setting. Great showers and tubs. Only con, no breakfast and Fireplace only worked the first night. Weird the way it worked in the first place. Tied to heating in the room. We heard someone else saying they had trouble too.

Lovely hotel. Short walk down the boardwalk to Moonstone beach. Comfy bed, great fireplace, friendly and considerate staff. We will be back!

Hotel was a very short walk to the beach. Rooms were very well kept and clean. Beds and sofas were comfortable. Hotel offers breakfast delivered to the rooms. Food was decent. Overall, very satisfied with the stay and will come back again.

First time staying here! Hotel was really clean! Had paid extra to have champagne and chocolates in the room for our anniversary and when we arrived we literally got a mini size bottle of champagne and small paper bag of Andes mints and star mints! Wasn’t to impressed with that! Steam rooms were broken! And the jacuzzi was so hot you would think they were boiling lobsters when not in use! And be careful getting out of jacuzzi because you are bound to slip on the wet tile as there aren’t any grips to prevent you from falling!

One of the newer hotels on Moonstone Drive, but no ocean views. We opted for a nice breakfast in Cambria, instead of their $12 per person limited option. The room was clean, and nice. The hosts were friendly, organized, and accommodating… good Wi-Fi connection too… all in all, a good value.

Really lovely hotel right across from downtown Cambria. The hot tub rooms are awesome and the staff was lovely. Why I knocked a star off: 1) We paid extra for a bed and breakfast package, and while the quiche was delicious, there was no muffin or toast and not that many options. Also, on one of the days, my fruit salad was just grapes. 2) The wine bar could do with a few more options. No real dessert wines (fruit wines like raspberry wine or apricot wine would have been amazing) and maybe desserts or snacks to buy. I think they don't have a proper kitchen, but maybe they could get something from one of the restaurants. Still though, lovely place!

Hotel recently refurbished. Close to downtown. No screen or door in shower area though. Friendly check in staff!

This hotel and spa is among one of the best in Cambria. We would highly recommend it if you like small quiet and easy access to the fabulous beach area and town. There are some excellent dinner places. A little expensive but very tasteful. It was our honeymoon. Michael/Julie Marks of San marcos.

Great location, you can walk to Cambria Village. Lovely employees! An amazing stay, love the room and comfy bed and fire place. Totally recommend for a romantic getaway. Oh and almost forgot Live music and a bar in the lobby so fun! I will totally be back!

Lovely place to stay. Very clean and accomodating. We received a voucher for a glass of wine and enjoyed that in our room. Spa area and hot tub were enjoyed.

Great place to stay. Everyone was very friendly. Very close to moonstone beach. Very clean. There is no cell phone service in the hotel. The Wi-Fi is not much better either. It would constantly connect and disconnect.

Very nice customer service, the pillows on the beds were so comfortable. At other hotels I have to ask for extra pillows. There were four big cushy pillows on each bed, and the rooms are very clean and nicely decorated.

Loved our stay here. Great place. No ocean view, but the view was still great. I love trees. Quiet, staff is great, so helpful. Hester was amazing. Diffently on our must go again list.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel! We recently did a 3 hotel journey north to south on the California Coast and spent two nights here for the central portion! One of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in! Loved walking the boardwalk path to the very beautiful and natural Moonstone Beach (don't know if I like this one or Cannon Beach in Oregon as my favorite pacific beach). Very friendly staff! Close to Hearst Castle! Lovely courtyard hot tub; very clean and not crowded! Wine Bar is amazing! Staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you! San Simeon/Cambria is one of the quaintest most beautiful places you could visit. Surrounded by wineries! We will be back here someday for sure!

Quaint and quiet hotel with good sized/well appointed rooms and good service; just a short walk from the beach and various restaurants… Highly recommended if visiting Cambria.

Worth every last penny. The hotel is small and in a perfect location. If your going to stay in the area then you will be doing yourself a big favor by staying here.

Despite the outward appearance, the rooms are actually very nice! The location is perfect, as it's only minutes away from the ocean walk and Cambria village. The staff there are very friendly and helpful! We got vouchers for free local wine upon arrival.

Highly recommend El Colibri. The employees are enthusiastic and extremely welcoming. They did a great job communicating all the hotel had to offer including the steam showers and outdoor hot tub! The rooms are spacious and include a jacuzzi! Walls are a little thin so be mindful of your guests and try not to have too much fun in the jacuzzi (wink wink)! Minutes too to the Hearst Castle (which is a must while in Cambria) and right down the street from several restaurants and shops.

This was an anniversary trip and our first time to Cambria. I must say we had an amazing time. The rooms were nice with fireplace and spa in it, and the staff was AMAZING. It was walking distance to main street, there was a boardwalk to Moonstone Beach, there is underground parking and a wine bar. Staff went out of there way to make sure you were having a great time. I wish the large Hotel chains learned from them. Awesome job, and a MUST STAY.

Front desk staff was very nice, there is no on-site gym so they directed me to the adjacent boardwalk in front of the beach, they also gave us dinner recommendations. Rooms are clean and roomy.

Our second time visiting, very close to Cambria downtown. In room amenities are nice and beds are exquisitely comfortable. No on property beach access.

Best hotel in Cambria. Only drawback is it's located off downtown. Great value though so if you don't mind walking, I'd highly recommend staying here.

Well, I had trouble with the hotel, but they made up for it so I still give them 4 stars. When I got there my room still had previous guest. The room was hot. And there is NOT a free breakfast, despite what the net says. But with all this they adjusted my bill, fixed the accident, and gave me coupons for breakfast since they said it was supposed to be free. They were polite and helpful. And they worked to make it better.

Room was very nice although I didn't like the pillows, lumpy and a little firm for me. Also breakfast is seriously lacking. Just coffee, cereal, toast. No eggs, bacon, toast, fruit, sausage, the good stuff. Would have given 3 but hot tub was very relaxing.

Great location! Real "hotel" unlike most of the motel-style places in the area. Easy access to both Moonstone boardwalk and downtown Cambria. Friendly staff. Steam rooms are a nice amenity.

We stayed at the El Colibri Hotel & Spa with our 2 young children. Our room was a good size, there was a soaker tub and separate shower. We used the jucuzzi and steam rooms which we enjoyed. The staff was very friendly and we enjoy a drink and tapas in the evening, over all a lovely stay.

This last week was my third stay at El Colibri. My first visit was terrific. The second visit was Ok. The third visit was a bust. After a long day of travel and a late check-in we arrived to a room that was not yet made up from the previous occupant and was in a complete mess. We had to leave our luggage and go wonder around for about 2 hours before returning to the room. We scheduled messages at the health spa prior to arrival. Confirmed the appointments twice after arrival. At the appointed time showing up at the spa area for the messages no one is there. After waiting for 15 minutes and checking in with the front desk to see what was going on… we are told that the scheduling got confused and were asked that we wait another hour or so for the persons doing the messages to arrive. We had other appointments and so had to cancel the messages that we had planned and were looking forward to. All communications between the hotel staff and us was calm, polite and matter of fact. The young woman who checked us in was lovely. When it came time to check out, a different woman at the desk… and I have to say she had just been slamming dishes around in the kitchenette during breakfast and looked displeased about it… perhaps short staffed… but regardless… when it came time to check out it was impossible to get her attention… and so we jfinally just left the keys on the corner of her desk and left.

My overnight "staycation" in the spacious suite and the terrific "signature" massage helped create a super relaxing and pampered experience. Located just steps from the coastal walking path and close proximity to several seafood restaurants, the El Colibri is an enchanting getaway.

My wife and I came here on a whim one weekend on a last minute get-away. We were not disappointed! The rooms are beautiful, beds are comfy and the area is amazing. It's quiet and romantic. It has become our favorite place for our weekend get-aways. We highly recommend it.

What an amazing experience. My now Husband and I spent our mini honeymoon here and walked in to chilled champagne, rose petals, and chocolates to help us celebrate. It was such a wonderful surprise. We also went to their wine and tapas event which was delicious and a perfect way to unwind. My husband chatted with the man helping us and he had plenty of great ideas for us to eat and visit. If you are staying in Cambria, YOU MUST STAY HERE.

Nice! great location in Cambria and walking distance to main street for restaurants and shops. The room was fantastic, big, spacious, very clean and the staff went beyond expectations. I'd recommend this place to anyone, specially considering how expensive it can get when staying on Ocean Front hotels, this is not on the beach but very close walking distance to it.

Excellent experience. My girlfriend and I couldn't ask for more. The hot tub on the rooftop is romantic. Very quiet, clean rooms, polite and friendly staff. We even got our room upgraded at no extra charge; extra bonus. Only a 15 minute drive from Hearst Castle. Will be back to stay here again. :).

Guaranteed quiet room due to business meetings. Received worst room next to lobby where staff was very noisy and inconsiderate. After no rest the first night, requested relocation and denied, and endured even worse noise second night being awoken all night long and no knowledge of Opera singer outside our room. Needless to say, early business meetings were a little difficult on no sleep. After expressing concern for future guests, management "Holly" lied and stated she talked with us and offered other accomodations. Was extremely disappointed that a "manager" would go to that extent and lie, upsetting disgruntled customer even more. Never received apology, resolution to the issue, and management ignored messages regarding our concern. Would NEVER recommend anyone to waste those extremely outrageous prices and receive no rest or relaxation what-so-ever.
