We stayed at Inn San Francisco for one night & I wish we could've stayed longer. Staff was super friendly & helpful. The room & the whole building were very quaint. We'd love to come back if they ever have their breakfast buffet again. Basic breakfast served in the room was convenient though. The room was big but cozy feeling. The tub is showing its age, but it is HUGE… my hubby & I could shower at the same time. The rooftop deck & garden area are nice places to relax. Parking is a little tight, but it is nice they have designated parking & you don't have to park on the street. I would stay here again.

Such a quaint, charming place, for B&B fans. Great breakfast (house made quiche, fruits, breads, cheese and meats), lovely views (including from rooftop deck), comfy and cute rooms, afternoon snacks and even a jacuzzi. The only problem is that it's so lovely, I can't talk my wife into ever staying anywhere else in San Francisco ;-)

A+ in all aspects of the PERFECT SAN FRAN B&B Friendly, clean, Victorian, full breakfast in the two sitting rooms, private garden, spacious, centrally located within the city, warm staff and the only place for us from here until forever.

Absolutely an amazing place to stay. It's like stepping back in time with a few added extras. The people are extremely friendly helpful and Marty is a blast. It has such a relaxed atmosphere and breakfast has so much choice. Our room 32 is great, a good size room and own ajoining bathroom. There is a roof top garden with jiccusie, hoping to try it out tomoz, our rest day before we move on to Niagra Falls, New York and then Queen Mary 2 home to Southampton, England.
A brilliant place to stay.

This is my second stay and I am enjoying it more the second time around. Consistent experience, very fancy and fun ;)

In the past two months I have stayed here for business 3 different times. It is a really neat historic building with an unbelievable view of the city. The staff is top notch, the make you feel very welcome and you understand why each of them says "welcome home". They went out of their way to hold onto our bags when we could not make it back in time for check-out from the job site. Even let us take a shower and clean up when we finally did arrive. Amazing people and an amazing place. I will definitely be back for a fourth time. Hopefully it will be for vacation instead!

A wonderful place to stay with Victorian splendor and excellent service. There is a quiet understated elegance to the house and your every whim catered for. Very highly recommended.

I can not praise The Inn enough, Marty is the most amazing host and the place is so beautiful and comfortable. We have stayed there on multiple occasions and always had the best time. The breakfast is next level and we loved the all night spa. There are so many great restaurants nearby and lots of public transport nearby.

Old, familiar and comfortable. Excellent receptionists. Good one but uncomfortable because you have to sit with strangers at the table. Highly recommended.

Cool B&B-style inn. Big breakfast spread, but all cold, except for toast and bagels, etc. Still, each category of food — breads, fruits, meats, etc — had a dozen selections to choose from. The room was pretty cool too and I will certainly visit again.

Great place for a get-away, the staff is friendly and helpful to the extreme. The beautiful rooms in this pair of Victorians is full of antiques. It is the little things that this does, such as having sherry and port in the parlor when you get back from exploring the Mission District or just about anywhere in SF, just few blocks from BART. Great restaurants in walking distance also.

I don't usually write reviews, but I would be remiss not to mention the wonderful character and charm of this place. Seriously, you will walk into the common areas and half expect to see Sherlock Holmes or Robert E. Lee reclining on the Victorian-inspired antique furniture. Do yourself a favor and pay a visit. It is very much worth the price difference compared to a hotel.

Awesome view from the rooftop, authentic house with really great rooms. The staff is awesome and very kind. The garden is quiet and peaceful and the jacuzzi is amazing!

I'm not familiar with bed and breakfast accommodations. It seems like an American thing so I was hesitant to try it. But the reviews drew me in and I didn't regret it. This place from the building, room, cleanliness, quietness, friendliness, breakfast, and the homey feeling is spot on. The location is a little far from Union Square, so if you're not familiar with SF I suggest you take Uber. Especially if you have lotsa luggages. I stayed in one of their smallest room (Room 12), if you're staying by yourself then it's definitely worth. Maybe a little too tiny for two xd.

The view from the rooftop is awesome. The free breakfast is delicious. The garden and jacuzzi are quiet and relaxing. Rooms are all unique and interesting. Every thing is clean and up to expectations. Highly recommend. Best bed and breakfast in San Francisco by a long shot.

Wonderful B&B! Room was super cool, building has the old school feel without old school smell. Really enjoyed the complimentary AM breakfast, which even included gluten free bread. Location was great for fitting in workouts — super close to a great crossfit, bodyrok, and 2 great jiujitsu schools.

Repeat guest, love this place. They greated me — welcome home! Very clean and charming.

Very cool historic house in an area with amazing restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast could have been better. Would stay again.

If I had to recommend a single place to friends and family to stay at in the city this would be it. Every comfort included, phenomenal breakfast and a lovely outdoor hot tub. Garden for taking your tea in. When they great you at check-in they say "welcome home" and it sure feels like it. Staff is as friendly as they come. Wish I could do more than 5 stars.

The atmosphere here is superb. It feels like a home one is happy to go back to at the end of the day. Breakfast is plentiful and fresh and the garden and rooftop are two lovely spaces to relax.

Little slice of heaven on earth in the heart of San Francisco. Always feels like home away from home. Beautiful garden area. Cool hot tubs or clawfoot tubs. The owners and staff are delightful. The breakfast is such an added treat, best quiche, fresh fruit, fresh oj. The rooms are all beautiful and feels like you've stepped back in time. I've enjoyed all my many stays at the Inn San Francisco. For me it is the best in SF!

The owner Marty is a gem. The Inn is very convenient to the Mission. Rooms are charming and quiet, and the breakfast is surprisingly lavish. Everything was great!

I absolutely love this place so much! It always makes my trip to SF wonderful! The staff every time I've stayed has been incredibly friendly, sincere, helpful, and accommodating from booking the room to getting settled in. That is a big reason why I continue to stay here and feel good about paying for a room here instead of basic places. It always feels like an experience! I've stayed in the cozy room with shared bathroom and in the $300 room with fireplace, spa tub, and private deck. Everything is very beautifully decorated and clean. The staff is great, there is a garden Jacuzzi tub, the parlor where a beautiful breakfast is included every morning, parking can be arranged for their garages (4 to 6 spaces I believe) across the street for a reasonable amount. Oh also you can wander around to admire the building and other rooms (if unoccupied) to check out all the detail and history, as you ascend the 3 flights of stairs to the roof for a complete 360 view of the city. I remember the first time I stayed here the giants baseball team won the world series (2011/12? ) and I was on the roof! That city went crazy for hours it was insane to hear and see all the noise! I can go on and on. Its a treat to stay here! Treat yourself right and ditch economy hotels.

The hosts were very nice and extremely friendly. They were kindly enough to help with her our group's every needs and questions.

Visited a friend who was staying there. Interesting bed and breakfast with massive rooms. Felt like you were an 18th century duke. There was a bathroom with a shower and a whirlpool tub in the room we were in.

I stayed here for just under a week in January and the entire experience from top to bottom was incredible. The whole place is decorated like a Victorian inn. Some highlights: the round deep cedar wood hot tub outdoors within a gazebo (and available 24 hours), the full complimentary breakfast spread offering fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, quiches, pastries and an assortment of cereals and drinks, the friendly welcoming staff (including the owner Marty who will happily talk your ear off), and the giant unbelievably soft poofy beds. Don't stay at a regular hotel — stay here!

Best Inn… on South Van Ness around 20th st. Close to Mission. Quaint, clean, antique type of environment, Quiet, bkfst is great, Inn Keeper is friendly.

This place is actually amazing! With the brilliant staff, tasty GIANT free breakfast, free port and sherry, great books/board games/local guides and beautiful furnishings, why would you stay in a hotel? It makes everywhere else look tacky. Make sure you go in the hot tub — it's round, deep, smells like a sauna and never has anyone in it!

Great hotel, got lots of character. The pictures online don't do it justice. Try and get the larger rooms. The 'cosy' rooms are very small and not good for a couple.

Loved our stay here! Wonderful hospitality, very good breakfast, and sherry cordial in the parlor… oh, and the chocolate Bon-bons on the pillow were very nice touches! Would definitely stay again.

I stayed two nights on business. I will stay there again. Price was fair, service was great, close to BART, close to the restaurants on Valencia.

One of the most beautiful inns I've stayed with anywhere in the world. The staff was friendly, hospital, and accommodating in every way. I felt at home here. The neighborhood is gorgeous and convenient to BART and public transit. The morning breakfast buffet is delicious with tons of variety — fresh fruit, hardboiled eggs, cereals, breads, cheeses, and more. I will always stay here when visiting SF!

Lovely place at a bargain price for SF; I guess rooms might small for American standards, but coming from Europe they're just fine. Quiet and close enough to everything despite not being in more expensive areas.

Great place in the heart of the Mission. Marty greeted us personally and got us settled. We were upgraded to a larger, top floor room with a view — loved the roof top balcony and backyard garden. It's a funky wonderful place that's made special by the staff and owner.

Charming bed and breakfast in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in San Francisco. Amenities include a garden with hot tub, an inviting parlor, and a rooftop terrace with a panoramic view of the city. Rooms are small but cozy.

Marty and his team do a splendid job of serving their guests well and maintaining a beautiful old building. This place has gobs more character than a typical hotel for less money — to say nothing of the amazing quality and variety of foods on offer at breakfast. You'd be crazy to stay in a hotel.

This was a wonderful place to stay. It's one of a rare set of old Victorian houses that survived the fires after the 1906 earthquake. The decorations in each of the rooms are fantastic — — every single thing, from doorknobs to the frills on the baseboards are embellished with little details. Although the bed wasn't the most comfortable, I slept rather well. My room also had lots of interesting furniture that was nice to have, like a small tapestry-covered sofa and a comfortable armchair. What really made the place special is the friendliness of the owner, Marty. He made the check in and check out process really pleasant and also gave an interesting historical overview of the city and the neighborhood. I will definitely stay here the next time I come to San Francisco.
