Nice, clean room… but our room was on the 5th floor n we got off the elevator to a stench of marijuana n now there's lovely loud music this a. M.

Service lacks big time. Requested towels one evening which never arrived.

Rooms are tiny! the queen size bed is comfortable and room is clean with a beautiful view but if you’re a big person or have more than one adult person in the room, you will be disappointed.
The staff personnel are very friendly and helpful and the lobby is very clean and attractive.
I guess I do recommend it. Our friends got rooms in the lower floor below Lobby level and theirs were twice the size as ours.

The hotel was average, but staff was friendly and helpful. I was between 3-4 stars, and the hotel bar and staff was really pushing me to 4. Place is clean, except for one issue. We pulled out the pull out couch for my kids to go to sleep, only to find that the mattress was damp and smelled of urine. Ugh. They did bring us up two rolling beds to use instead which was helpful, but then they occupied a good portion of the room for the duration of the stay, on top of not being able to use the couch. Expected the suite we had to be a bit larger, but it worked. TV was intermittant… sometimes we would get all channels, and sometimes they said "no signal". There is a convenient Starbucks in the lobby, hotel bar is small but nice, food is average.

Our stay here was great. The rooms were very nice. Flat screen TVs, 2 queen size beds, great view. Would definitely stay here again. The downstairs bar and lobby areas were very nice as well. I was especially impressed with the outdoor seating and firepit.

I really enjoyed my stay at this Marriott Hotel. It's in a great location, walking distance from the beach, AT & T Stadium, as well as other various places. The hotel itself is pretty good too. I stayed here for business so I didn't really take part in all the amenities the hotel offers but like I said overall my stay was very nice and I would recommend this hotel.

My son and I stayed 4 nights at this hotel. They call me by name, it makes me feel like it is my home away from home. We visited the Starbucks there every day. They are always friendly and a great way to start the day. Actually everyone here is extremely friendly and the new room designs are great!

Great hotel! Lots of construction around it right now. It makes it difficult to get a ride and get in and out. I booked a single King and got 2 Queens. Not a big deal, but not what I booked. All in all good stay, clean hotel, and awesome experience and location. Looking forward to coming back.

Excellent stay. Good food, the top floor has a bar with great views. The hotel is within walking distance to Union Square and to the water front and ferry terminal. There are museums and parts just outside. Plenty of good restaurants within walking distance as well. Target is across the street, convenient for all travel support needs.

So, I’m all for “green” and trendy — but these rooms are a bit too much. They’ve seemed to reinvent the light switch, where they’re all push buttons in weird places and the lights turn themselves off after about 10 minutes. The shower water temp doesn’t have an H or C on it, just the number 100. When you move the knob to 100, it’s cold. When you move it the other way, it’s warm. Where is hot? Bed was fine, which I guess is the important part, and they still have coffee makers.

Went for the Giants game. Spent the weekend there. Easy check-in, great clean rooms. The staff is friendly and staff is very accommodating. More pricey than surronding hotels, and valet is $70 a night. If you get a room with valet included, double check bill since I got double charged for valet.

Very nicely decorated, conveniently located full service Courtyard in downtown San Francisco. Very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, helpful personnel. Close to SF Giants baseball, Embarcadero, freeway to Bay Bridge. Contemporary styling, seating in common areas, fire pit on lobby patio. Decently stocked marketplace for snacks, with microwave oven for heating. Bar, restaurant, and coffee shop on site. Lovely, spacious rooms, with contemporary, comfortable furnishings. Pricey, yet it's downtown San Francisco… Valet parking only, and while the valets were consummate professionals, courteous & helpful, the rates exceed what I pay at similarly styled New York City properties. It is what it is…

This hotel is very nice. We had a high floor, city overlook room that was quite comfortable. The staff was super friendly and having a Starbucks attached was a definite plus. We were in town doing some touristy things, and the Big Bus hop on hop off tour has a stop outside, which was handy for our sightseeing adventures. TL;DR 10/10 would stay again.

Room feels big. It's quiet and clean. The location downtown is nice. I've never had many requirements for a hotel so overall this is everything I could ask for — helps that I'm here on business so am not paying out of pocket.

They recently renovated every room and now they are NICE. They're also pretty big. Fun decor, comfy bed, nice touches like USB ports along with wall outlets next to the bed. The shower is big, nice, and clean. You can get a fair amount of street noise, trucks backing up, etc. But you're in the middle of downtown San Francisco so you have to kind of expect it. The staff are friendly. It was pouring rain when I was there and they had umbrellas to borrow which I appreciated. I will definitely stay here again.

Everything is fine in this hotel. Only the thing that is very bad is, there is no breakfast. That's bad.

Best area hotel, not your regular courtyard property. Well done, renovated, super well managed, rooms good size for downtown US city. Good lobby chill out space. Good pricing for that city. Location 10 minutes to virtually anything you need.

The hotel itself was fine, however I asked for my car to be brought up for 5:30am the following morning and at 5:10am I received a call from the front desk saying my car had already been brought up and was broken into. Worst of all, I was in the middle of moving back to the US from China for work so half my possessions were in my car. I’m not sure why I wouldn’t have received a call from the valet letting me know they were bringing my car up, and making sure I was awake, or why it was brought up early. Also very suspicious that the car was parked just beyond the camera. The management form both the hotel and valet service have been helpful, but it won’t replace some of my belongings which are irreplaceable or no longer sold (family photos, sport apparel collected over years, my favorite shirts and shorts, etc)

The staff is truly great! Super helpful, efficient and pleasant. Rooms are currently under renovation. Renovated rooms have a large built in couch/pull out so it feels a little crowded compared to the older rooms. We were able to have adjoining rooms for travelling with extended family. Valet parking is a little steep at $68 daily.

Clean, modern looking rooms with nice amenities. The staff is really polite and the lounge and bar area are gorgeous. I was in a newly renovated room on the 4th floor, so I had all of the modern fixtures and a soft king sized bed. TV was an LG that was a bit unresponsive. The area is also pretty nice, but I wouldn't want to be outside after sunset. This is more on San Francisco than the actual vicinity though.

Very satisfied with our stay. The hotel is in a relatively low-key and quiet area, and yet there are plenty of good restaurants within a five minute walk. The hotel is also a few minute's walk to public transportation. The room was very nicely done and sufficiently spacious. Nights were nice and quiet. The staff were very polite, helpful and professional. Lobby is quite lively and filled with travelers from across the world. Highly recommended.

Discreet Hotel, maybe a little overvalued for the services it gives! Overall we had a good and good value — price.

Nice room, remodeled. Lobby lounge and firepit are very relaxed and comfortable. Whispers bar is fun. My room was on sixth floor, loud street side. Would stay again though.

Good large room. Bed very comfortable. Great location. Service was a bit iffy — we were told to check in post 4pm, but our booking confirmation said 3pm. Had to ask for help with our bags as we were given a trolley to use ourselves. Breakfast was paid for but we were told not available — had to request a refund, but they did put it through.

Friendly staff that greets you as you enter the door as well as leaving. The room is small and the bathroom has a small sink with a shower and shelf but no real counter space for personal items such as a makeup bag or flat iron. Had to get ready in the bedroom where there is a large mirror. Over all close to shopping and food.

Ed an amazing hotel: The rooms are very spacious, the beds huge, with all the facilities, swimming pool, gym, good kitchen… It is in a perfect place for sightseeing around the city.

Beautiful hotel! We rented one of the cheaper rooms (all we could afford on our budget) but when we arrived we were upgraded for free to one of the newly remodeled rooms! When we walked in we were immediately in love with the room. Absolutely beautiful and very clean! We did have a bit of trouble figuring out the lights lol but we got it eventually. The staff was very kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

Comfortable, but just not worth the exorbitant price. Newly renovated rooms are throwback to 90's… glossy black furniture with white, silver and pinkish-red accents and design. Modern electric switches simply a pain in the (neck) as they turn off the LED lights after just a few minutes unless room key is continually placed in a particular slot! Of course, this wasn't explained to us either at check-in! Brand new refrigerator was broken. Unadvertised additional price of parking is $62/day + tax.

The staff was very friendly. The hotel itself was cute and kitschy, but room and bathroom was reminiscent of an NYC studio. Very compact. Shower curtain was about five inches higher than the floor allowing water to spray onto the bathroom floor. Very pleased with decor and condition of the property otherwise.

Overall, a modern upscale Marriott. As with all things in downtown San Francisco, space is a premium. The rooms are nice, but small. The bathrooms are nice but small. The location is great, just a few blocks to Union Square and the Bart and Muni stops.

Location is convenient, rooms are small but clean and cozy. The staff is very kind and we've experienced no problems. The size and proximity of the rooms means you can hear some pipes and other noises, but overall everything has been stellar for the value.

I stayed on the 16th floor, view was decent. Very nice room, great service, all the workers were friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

This review is primarily based off of the valet service we received at this hotel over the weekend. We called down to have our car brought up from the valet about 10 minutes before we are planning on going downstairs to check out. We had somewhere we need to be in about an hour and a half so we gave ourselves enough time to get where we need to be on time, not knowing exactly how traffic would be… we ended up waiting over 30 minutes for our car, I could have walked the two blocks to the parking garage and gotten the car myself in half the time. Once our car did arrive, the men working the valet where extremely rude to my father who is handicapped and utilizes a cane to walk. They did not offer to help us with our bags and one of the employees made a rude gesture and told us to "just go. " this treatment is unacceptable and not what we would expect from a Marriott Hotel. We are extremely loyal Marriott customers and this has been a disappointing experience. on a sidenote, When we first got there we went up to our rooms and realized that they were next to the elevator, so we went down and asked for different rooms. The rooms themselves are nice, but the bathrooms in the are extremely tight and my parents both had a difficult time using them. As I mentioned before, my father uses a cane and has trouble with his back so the bathrooms were a problem for him.

Came into to SF to celebrate 30th anniversary and my wife's birthday; location of hotel was within a short walk to Union Square, seemed to be a lot of restaurant choices close by also! Over all loved the hotel and the rooms! Rooms were a bit tight but, seemed to be recently remodeled, bright and modern, perfect for a couple visiting for the weekend! Staff VERY friendly, house keeping always greeted us in the hall way with a "hello" and "who are you enjoying your stay"! Wife and I had a cocktail in the bar, drinks were priced Ok (typical SF) but, were really tasty, enjoyable, bar space was comfortable, free popcorn! In the morning, grab some coffee, yogurt and fresh fruit for breakfast down stairs, was very good! Weekend went great, right up to the point of when we checked out, front counter staff Sunday morning, couple issues! Inattentive and rude acting! Not to mention it took 45 minutes for car to arrive from valet, apparently front desk staff are bad communicators with valet! Only saving grace was that Valet attendant inquired if we were waiting on a vehicle! Almost 5 stars! Great stay, right up to the point of departure, still haven't received my emailed "bill", as requested …

The stay was wonderful and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Room was small but comfortable, my only complaint is that we were a bit too close to the elevator for my taste.

Decent location, clean and brand new. Friendly staff, nice gym and lobby. However the bathroom is a catastrophic failure of design and functionality. This location was a renovated boutique hotel. The rooms are small which isn't an issue until we get to the bathroom. The bathroom was ridiculously small. The sink, shower, and toilet were crammed into a space much to small. The door did not allow you to stand in front of the sink. You were always at an angle to the corner of a small square sink. There was no room for a counter top or a significant ledge around the sink. Barely enough room for a tooth brush and soap. With only one small shelf above the toilet large enough to hold my electric razor, deodorant, and hair paste. This was inconvenient and not at all functional. To make matters worse there was no light switch but a motion detector to turn the single light behind the mirror on and off. If motion wasn't detected in a 90 second period the light turns off. So using the restroom the light would turn off. The motion detector cannot see you when you are behind the shower curtain. The light would turn off while I was in the shower. I would have to pull back curtain and wave my arm. It was frustrating and led to a very wet bathroom. Simply taking another 2 feet of the room and/or using a pocket door along with a real light switch would solve this. I won't stay here or recommend this location until this is addressed.

Location is great. Great bars and food all in walking distance. The rooms are small but typical for sf. I did eat breakfast at the hotel one quick morning in a rush and it was terrible. Don't eat here or even get coffee here.

The rooms and the design of the hotel is incredibly beautiful. They were a bit cramped, but the service was top notch. The people at the bar were pretty slow and rude and there isn't much choice when it comes to the food. The location is the heart of downtown and there are plenty places to go and see. Restaurants are all around, but don't bother asking the bar people because they don't know anything.
