Hey guys! I just wanted to give ya'll a SO to being AWESOME and one of the best parts of our trip to San Francisco! We stayed there from the 15th-18th and met 3 lovely and hilarious Argentinian girls on the bike tour with Gabriel (who was great! ) and then the pubcrawl that night and so I'm hoping they see this so we can reconnect! BREVIA! (sp? ) We loved every minute of our trip to San Francisco and you guys were a big part of that so cheers from Halifax, Canada, and hope to see you again!

If u like gathering up and hanging out with strangers, it’s a perfect place! pros : Staffs were kind and professional. And free pancakes in the morning tastes great.
There are variety of events for each night like beer pong, pub crawl, etc. Also u can play pool or watch dvds at its huge basement area. 24/7 coin laundry. Neighborhood area seemed safe. Market right across the street. Comfy location (compared to hostels, not hotels) … cons : bunkbed was a lil sqeaky. Room ventilation was quite bad. Blanket felt a lil filthy. But bublic area (shower booth and bathroom) was relatively clean.

Nice rooms, and a really clean hostel. Breakfast its simple but free. Neighborhood its crowded with homeless, but you get used to… its SF. I will love if they do every night some activity so the people have the chance to meet them. I liked it.

Nice hostel with good breakroom and activities. Beds were not great but the price was right. Cool old Victorian building. Would book again but understand it's an older place. Nice staff.

Great hotel, maintained very well by the staff. Few room bunk beds are a bit cranky and need some more maintainence. Convenient location and easily accessible by cabs. Lot of good restaurants in the neighborhood.

It was perfect, I stayed at ladies only dorm with bathroom inside. The room was clean and spacious enough, toilet was clean as well and the most important was the location just at downtown, superconvenient! the breakfast also standard, I was fine with that. The Wi-Fi was fast and smooth. The staffs also nice and friendly. Its really worth and valued for the money.

I stayed here for 1 day but the staff was very friendly. They allowed our stuff to be kept in the storage vault and allowed us to use the facilities there. The rooms were clean and fresh bedaheets were provided. In all the place was worth the money.

Really cool place to stay. Special mention to @Poonam Patel who gave us an amazing walking tour of the city. Thanks to all staff: our stay was amazing :)

It's a good solution to the stay in the city for cheap. Nice to meet and talk to talk to fellow travelers (mostly European travelers). But because of the schedule of roommate, it's not good for sleep. I had a bad sleep because got woke up by roommate at 2am. I passed out waiting on the terminal seat and missed the flight in the most funny way.

Great hostel. Convenient location, clean rooms. A little bit noisy (mostly street noise), but nothing that can't be slept through relatively easily. Lots of activities and very helpful staff.

The best American hostel in stayed at. Staff is all very friendly. The atmosphere is very welcoming. They have daily group activities. The rooms are near and clean. It seems very safe as well. The hostel and all the rooms are locked with key card. I'd definitely stay again.

Very good atmosphere, clean and pleasant common areas, breakfast although it is included is rather limited, they could improve it. The location is great for exploring the area's businesses and shops in San Francisco. There are some nearby neighborhoods to visit (like Chinese and Italian) and fights there are ways to move to more distant places.

Very unsafe On my second night in this place a guy tried to force his way into the room because under the obvious effects of drugs he thought our room was his room. We managed to take him out and gave advice to the receptionist of the situation but she looked at my friend as he was lying and did nothing, he tried to get into our room like two more times, obviously we went again to the receptionist and she told us she was calling her manager to see what she could do, on his third time trying to enter into the room he broke my nose. The hostel never called the police, I went to the hospital because obviously I was under pain and my nose was bleeding and I had to pay 1000 usd to be attended in the hospital. I lost my entire night going from the hospital to the police. I had the worst moment of my life and you know what? the guy went back to the hostel and they let him stay there as nothing happened. On the next day they told him he should go, and that’s all. The worst attention I had in my entire life was here and the only thing they did to try to mend the situation was: we are sorry and they changed us to another room, they didn’t give me the money I payed to the hospital back or at least the money of the stay here to cover some costs of the problem they should have managed from the beginning.

This place is Fantastic! — Great Front Desk staff! I mean AZ, Connor, Evan, Jessy and Marco are the best, they will make you feel welcome, they are helpful and fun! — The everyday life and Activity staff, they, with the front desk, are the heart of the place, they will take you to adventures, spend the evening chatting and so on… — The location, I mean ur 5 minutes away from Union Square, 15 from Chinatown, 30 from Lombard street walking distance. For the rest take a bike (2 blocks down) -Free Breakfast, with a few different kinds of bread, pancakes to make, juices, coffee and tea. A good way to start the day -The Rooms, they are small but cozy, the bathroom are clean. — Common Areas, the are all awesome. The kitchen is huge, with ovens, there is a foosball table and a pool table in the party room. There is a big dining room and also a small library. They recently reopened a room now called the Lounge, where you can chill in nice sofas. — The Activities … damn that's the reason why you should go. Free dinners made by the staff (twice a week). Bike Tours that takes you across the bridge and it s cheaper than at the rental nearby (3x a week). Karaoke night with free beer Pub Crawls with a free shot before you leave Free wine and cheese night Free saturday night drinks Special events Well if with all of that you re still hesitating, then stop and rush there! I ll go back, some of the best memories of my trip were made there.

Good value. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean. Good location. The breakfast is "basically" bread, a toaster and oatmeal. Would be nice to have milk to the oatmeal porridge. We were on a nice pub crawl as well. Overall would recommend. Better breakfast and it's five stars.

Good cleaning. Good breakfast. Hostel type: You wash the dishes and cutlery (breakfast). Rooms for 4 (share) and private and shared bathrooms. More than 90% public young. Good atmosphere.

I enjoyed everything about this place, and I made some great friends, too. They have a sort of social event every day, the staff are usually very insightful. I could definitely see myself coming back here again.

Clean hostel and great service. Only a couple minutes walk around from Union Square and had plenty of food placed nearby. Provided clean linen and towels upon check in and had free luggage storage for me when I checked out. Free breakfast in the morning too!

Very clean place. Good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'd add that staff at front desk should watch there language and topics when sitting there chatting with each other. It could offend customers. I understand they're young, but display at least some level of professionalism. When I'm in front lobby, I don't appreciate hearing the f work every 5 or 6 words etc. And I am particularly turned off by hearing staff complain about their job, their pay, etc… Take it behind the scenes away from your customers.

Very good hostel, the staff is friendly and efficient, also have several activities like pub crawls or games in the hostel. The facilities are nice and clean, has a games room, laundry, a small library and snack machines and refreshments. The only bad thing is that the breakfast could be a little bit more varied but nothing else.

Great budget hotel. Perfect for solo or groups travelling. Rooms are basic but hey. They do have options to have shared ensuite, also have rooms if you want own privacy. Breakfast was included in price, but very basic. Location is excellent just a short walk from Union Square. I stayed 10 days in October 2017. Would recommend booking early as they get booked quickly. Would stay again if revisiting.

Nice hostel. Showers and restrooms were clean. They provide you with a towel. Staff is amiable and helpful. Breakfast was a plus, though if you want some protein you need to provide it yourself.

Quite adequate option for your money. Of course, I was looking for something to just sleep, since early morning and until late at night planned to walk around the city, and I was here very comfortable.
The beds are soft, the hostel routine is kept and no one is worn with wild screams when everyone is already sleeping, and maybe I just got lucky with roommates and… Floor. There is no hairdryer in the rooms, but there are lockers that are closed on the key. The castle can be either brought with you or bought on the lower floor in a vending machine with bars for $4. If not found it from the first time, do not get discouraged and ask the information desk, I also did not succeed.
The best part is that the hostel has good Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and there are several ipads in the main hall that anyone can use.
Well and, of course, very convenient location. The hostel in the center is the ideal accommodation for a tourist who intends to explore the city.

I love the service, they're professional and give you many options for things to do during your stay. I joined their complimentary walking tour to some SF landmarks (Union Square, China Town, Coit Tower, etc), 2.5 hours tour with a cool guide (hey, Brandon! ). There are also another activities that you can join for free. About the room, I stayed on a Female Room with Shared Bathroom. The bedroom is clean and comfy and the bathroom is just two steps away and very hygiene. I like their way to keep the quality in the reasonable price.

Buat orang Indonesia yang biasa cebok dan mandi dengan air banyak, akan terasa kurang nyaman berada di sini. Tapi ini sesuai dengan harganya yang memang murah jika dibanding hostel lain di sekitar sini. Termasuk recommended hostel.

My first hostel experience and it was good. The place is clean, the bed comes with USB charging port and downstairs there’s a cafetaria.

Great environment. A big hostel with a huge social area. Quite expensive, but may be because of the location (quite good)

Stayed 4 nights in a 4 bed mixed dorm. Nice and clean. Good common area with breakfast. Good Wi-Fi. Plenty of charging points. Sheets and towel provided but no soap or shampoo. Ok location. 10 minute walk to Union Square.

This hostel has a couple problems. The biggest one is MICE! We went downtrends around 10 pm, which is the kitchen area and we saw a couple mice running around, everywhere. They went inside the kitchen. This place has the breakfast include it, off course we didn't want to eat here. We told the girl at the counter and she said they were going to take care of that, close that area were the kitchen is at, because this is unsanitary. But to our surprise, the next day the place was open and everyone was eating there. They really need to do something about this, and I hope the manager will be able to read this review.

Best cheap place to stay in San Francisco. The hostel staff was always very polite and helpful, everything went well. The location is excellent, close to everything, subway, shops, tourist spots and restaurants. Breakfast is good for a hostel, it couldn't be too demanding because it's not very expensive, 4 varieties of breads, butter, jelly, peanut butter, fruit, coffee, tea and juices. The bed was confortable, but it wasn't super comfortable, but you could sleep peacefully. I think the check in could be earlier because I arrived 7am in San Francisco, and the ceck out could be a little later because my flight was 11pm.

3 nights in this hostel in a private room and I absolutely loved it! Met some great people and felt safe on my own (first time travelling alone). Great location! Highly recommend!

Neat, clean, calm. All you need to see in SF is easy to reach. Friendly and helpful stuff. Offering free daily tours. I'd come again.

Something expensive for what they give. Amazing Breakfast.

I experienced a pleasant stay (9 nights) at USA Hostels San Francisco. Friendly hosts (staff), friendly guests, much enjoyable places with good music 24h like in the lounge and in the hallway. Staff is committed and warm. I also joined in 3 activities, facilitated by the hostel themself, great advanture and this is to reccommand. Make your own pancaces during breakfast.

The truth that the hostel is very well located has a very varied breakfast and the dining room available for whatever, also has pool and other attractions.

USA hostels San Francisco is hands down the best hostel I have ever been. I was staying in a 4 beds female dorm ensuite. The bathroom was cleaned every day and even the shared bathroom was in top notch condition. The privacy pod is what set them apart and don't forget the charges inside the security locker, which allows me to harge my electronics appliances when I am out. The Friday morning bike tour is highlight of my trip with friendly tour guide. I was travelling solo but I met great travel companions from around the globe through this hostel that I never get bored! Definitely recommend this!

The hostel is quite large overall and you can meet a lot of people here. Hostelbist very clean and well equipped. Location is also great. Would come back here in any case.

Fantastic hostel in San Fran. You can select a wide variety of options depending on your budget. We stayed in a 4 person dorm with a bathroom inside for ~$70 a night. You can make free pancakes in the morning and walk to downtown San Fran. The staff is friendly and knowledgable, always willing to help. I would stay here again!

Great place to crash. Good location and service. You get what you pay for. Too bad they didn't let my group use the bbq!

Best hostel I've ever stayed at. Our group of 4 had a dorm to ourselves with a bathroom. The room was facing the street so had a bit of road noise, but none from the neighbouring rooms. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The kitchen facilities are great and there is a free breakfast daily where you can make yourself oats or indulge in pancakes. There were lots of events at which you could meet other hostel goers. Would happily stay again.

Great hostel, great location.

We stayed four nights in the USA hostel in San Francisco in a private room with our own bathroom. The room were really nice and clean and it came with a ventilator, fridge, microwave and a speaker for an Ipod. Breakfast was served from 7 – 11 and they provided delicious pancakes and some fresh fruits along with other things. We loved the atmosphere in the morning, really relaxed and laid back. One day we attended the free walking tour, which is offered from the hostel. Sammy, our guide did an awesome job and showed us some really nice places with some awesome views over the city and the two bridges. The staff was really nice, they always helped out with questions on what to visit, where are the best restaurants and any other concerns. We had an awesome time and can highly recommend the USA hostels.

Amazing place to stay in san francisco. Nice lively atmosphere and activities everyday. Clean and comfortable rooms and washrooms. The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. I recommend not to go out on the streets at night because its probably a little unsafe however is is safe and comfortable inside the hostel. The hostel people ensure proper security for all their guests. I would recommend usa hostels to anyone planning to visit san francisco.

Great hostel, the staff is always ready to help. Quite good breakfast, you can cook pankejki. Of horrible elevator, with bags you can normally go down by the stairs.

Absolutely loved my stay at USA Hostels! The staff was friendly the rooms were clean and so were the showers and restrooms. They even provided free events during the day and night for guests which is a great way to get a bunch of strangers to meet each other. I will definitely be staying there again when I come back to San Francisco.

Love it here, great hostel in a great city. They offer activities so you can meet some of the other guests, they offer breakfast, the rooms are clean and the beds comfy!

Great place! Amazingly clean, renovated and good price, with lots of fun energy. Everyone seemed happy and cheerful, both the guests and the staff. Pancake breakfast was delicious. Easy access to public transportation to all of the sights. Definitely would recommend.

Awesome place but beware of a scam going on with the front desk guy named Sam (UK accent). He tried to charge me double the price for a room even though I had a booking receipt! It was only after I threatened to contact management that he charged me the correct price. Besides this scammer, it was a great place to stay.

For a Hostel, really great! Friendly, Clean and very comfortable. Great programs are offered. Easy Class :)

This is the second time that I stay in this hostel and how the above, I am amazed of all the areas the food and the people who visit it.
