Review of Motel 6 Van Nuys 3*

This motel 6 is BY FAR the NASTIEST motel 6 I have ever stayed in. The front desk staff (also clearly the owners) are absolutely the rudest people I've encountered with respect to the General hotel/ motel chains. I have stayed there 3 times the last 2 ONLY BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE WERE SOLD OUT. (If that ever comes up again when I go through there I would rather sleep in my car. Apon check in with reservations the staff worker (part of the family owners) he told me I am not allowed to have any guest not even if it is clearly family and checking them in as visitors (which you have to go by the front desk anyway to get to your room. I told him It was me alone will not have guest, he replies " well just so you know and don't come down later saying that no one told you. If you do bring guest you will be kicked out and refunded your money"! I at this point felt somewhat disrespected considering I already said I was here alone and won't have any guest. I told him in reply "Sir I think I made myself very clear I don't have guest" at this point a truck drove into the parking lot that will not hold the capacity of guest by a long shot. He tells me to hold on a second as he leaves the desk to see what was going on with this truck. Well standing at the door he is saying how this guy is an idiot. He can't park here. The TV in the lobby was on CNN. I STOOD at the counter (bullet proof glass) watching the news waiting for this guy to finish me up. He turns and "TELLS" me to have a seat. I replied "In fine thank you" he "TELLS" me again this time "Sir! Sit down I will be with you in a moment! That was about my boiling point still sternly I said again "I am fine! I will stand Sir! " He gets mad then yells at the driver of the truck saying he can't park it there get it outta here now or I'll call the police. This guy at that point hadn't even acknowledged the guy was speaking to him and here this guy is threatening him. Finally, this guy comes to finish me up. A lady comes down to the lobby and TELLS the guy her key needed to be reset she was locked out of her room. He tells her the machine is down he will have to go and unlock it for her manually to have a seat he will get to it when he has time. Wow! Finally he finished me up tells me the same thing about the key and he has to manually do it to come on. I was blown away! I did say he could help her 1st I'm cool. He said no she is all the way at the end of the 323rd floor she can wait! I was like OMG is this guy serious. Man let me tell you, the halls smelled so putrid it was insane! Garbage bags outside doors of the rooms. My room was non smoking yet when he let me in it smelled like a strip club. I smoke but cannot handle the smell of cigarettea indoors. I grab him right before he got to the stairwell and told him my room smelled like that may have just remade the beds from the previous guest it didn't even have a faint smell of cleaning anything. He shakes his head and says the obvious guess the guest before broke the rules and leaves… The final straw… NO B. S.! I go to use the restroom in my room and I lift the seat and YA EXACTLY! An Elephant came in and $h! + in my toilet! I grabbed my stuff want down told him to give me a refund this was the last straw. He tried to keep $30 dollars for loss do to reservations held up the room! Needless to say I did get my money back. That was the last time. If you are completely out of options except this place. Dont take my word for it ask to walk down any of the 3 floor hallways before you commit to this place. You will know immediately I am not lieing.
