It is horrible. All I can smell was drugs. It appears gang bangers, hanging out on the balcony. Really liked looks Like drug dealers. Smh. The toilet was dirty with poop all in the toilet bowl, the walls spray painted. The light switches falling out of the walls. They need to be shut down. I wonder if the owners home is like that. I've seen tents with more quality then that smh.

This place would not be acceptable for the animals who was banned from the zoo. From poop in the toilet, hanging electrical sockets, graffiti on the walls/bed, to the filthy decor and thugs waiting to make a drug sale hanging in the courtyard, this place should be shut down by the city code enforcement and health dept. NEVER to be reopened! Let's not forget the very rudely toned owners who acted as though I stole his much needed curry powder when I asked for a roll of toilet paper. He had the audacity to ask me what it was that I was going to do with the spray bottle of bleach I had. As if! Please, do your mind, vision and memory a humongous favor… KEEP DRIVING to the next city over, at least. THE HOLES IN THE WALLS ARE ONLY ONE TAP AWAY FROM BEING IN THE NEXT ROOM! Between you and I, I think that they were trying to find El Chapo's tunnel connection.

Highland I don't even know where to begin about this motel to my thinking I think it's needs to be Shut Down or remolded or New Management people s OK something it's a lot of a lil bit going on there so yea thats what I think of the motel.

Did, and his Wife, Kim, are the nicest, warm and caring Couple. Our room was Cozy and Clean. I f I needed extra to, please don't hesitate to ask, from Kim. Our TV was a huge wall flat screen — had a few quirks with the remote, but no big deal. LOTS of good shopping within walking distance, from discount lots, to banking and great many takeout places. Just ignore the occasional badly behaving guest, with most have been here more than a week, and respectful, friendly. But NOT nosy, lol. Ill stay here anytime.

Huy, well, this place is a bit run down, quite a bit. TV had to be programmed, there were no towels in the room, I had to go down to the Office and request. They did accommodate once I made the request to fix TV and for towels to be brought up though so it wasn't bad service. It's just the place is a little filthy and rather old.

The location is great for everyday occasions. Service was great. I was in a one bedroom unit.

This place is my home. The management here is amazing.

Hyland motel hotel room are big some have some don't but no mattered yet you will get that rest.

Not a big fan of CA. But I did love staying here. If I ever go back to C. A. Again I would def. Be staying here again. A boutique hotel with very clean, modern rooms, nice size bathrooms, and good service in a good location near a lot of great restaurants. Valet service was very fast. Not crazy about the extra $24 parking but it's about that or more for most hotels in the area and at least this was valet instead of park-it-yourself. And the value for the room more than made up for it…

The hotel is decent. I was just stopping by to say hello to some friends for a few minutes but from the short amount of time I was there it seems cool… The area it's in and some people there are not the best type of people but it's also normal for the area it's in.

They have rooms across the street that are more like converted apartments which are away from the general population of the motel. Plus you're out of eyesight from the manager. Also most of these rooms come with kitchenettes; for example, higher than bachelor size refridgerators, microwave ovens, stove with oven ranges, and a 2 tub sink. My favorite amenities are free Wi-Fi (real fast by Spectrum (formerly Time Warner) ) and Spectrum cable TV with lots of channels. Seems like Basic, Expanded Basic, and some prescription channels. And you normally get to park your vehicle close by your front door. The price is very inexpensive for what they offer compared to their competitors. They also have weekly and monthly rates too. So enjoy!

I stayed here while separated from my wife, with my dog Rocky. We had an excellent time while we spent weeks and weeks here. Yes, it's a cheap, sh*tty motel on Sepulveda, but the owners are the best there are of the motels that dot Sepulveda, the staff is quite friendly, and it the best you're gonna get in this strip of motels. I highly recommend the Hyland Motel. Vice is non-existent and you'll be happy here.

I am staying by mistake over here right now. Pimps, prostitutes, drrug dillers, junkies. Dirty, loud, impossible to sleep. Gangsters. I dont know where police is. Horrible reception woman. Disgusting. Staying up all night just to not to lay down in this bed.

Stay away from this place. Filthiest, most disgusting motel I have ever been to or seen in my life. Pubic hair on the pillows! Cigarette smell embedded into the walls and dirty drapes! Dirtiest AC I have ever seen; literally a layer of ashy disgusting dirt on the grille! Do yourself a favor and pick a well known motel/hotel chain for less money instead of this dump. I only chose this place because I was desperate, but I would rather sleep in my car or even on a bus bench than this place. Not to mention the rude, dirty Indian guy at the office. My sincere advice is to stay away from this nasty motel. No refunds. Sarcastic and rude Indian guy at the bullet proof glass.

I stayed at the Hyland Motel on 4/20/2016. I Walked into the room and killed two roaches within 2 minutes. Floor was dirty, walls were just plain filthy. There was water on the bathroom floor. The Window A/c unit didn't have knobs on it and was set to "FAN" Mode. There was a couch/chair in the corner with more stains on it than any other cushion chair I have ever seen in my life. I Put the bed Cover on the cadenza and started scouring for bed bugs. Didn't see one, but decided to sleep on the sheet, which I found one long hair on. I keep my clothes on and put T-shirts over the pillows. I kept my phone on me so I could use the flashlight to check for bedbugs every 30 minutes or so. Finally fell asleep for about an hour. Woke up and turned on the flashlight, "BINGO" bedbugs scattered. I grabbed my stuff and slept the rest of the night in my car (NO LIE). And if you don't believe me, they have security cameras on the cars. I Went back in the room in the morning to shower (Another Horror story) and get dressed. I Informed the clerk about my stay and got the hell out of there! Don't even want my money back (Seriously)! Just couldn't believe there are still motel in this condition. Guess it's what I get for bargain hunting a 1 night stay! Never again, Not in this life, or the next!

Its a horible motel they over charge for horrible maid service she cant clean, the first time staying her the indian people were soo rude and they only care about the money but cant even provide a decent clean room the rooms are terrible cigarette smoke comes through the wall the walls are thin you can hear alot of noise coming from them and rude people who dont like to mind theyre own buisness.

I woulda have given no stars but had to choose one. This place sucks one of the knobs on the air vent was missing cpuldnt get the thing adjusted properly since I wasnt able to use it cprrectly. My room was hot as hell. There were only 2 towels for two of us. N theres not even a phone in the room to call front desk. I mean can always use my cel butt its just the point behind it all.

The worst place they rip u off they keep your deposit for having a visitor they have small rooms with small beds very uncomfortable dont go it sucks.

False advertisement, there never was any Wi-Fi connection nor did they even have the any Wi-Fi capabilities. Rooms, well at least the one I stayed in looked and was completely torn down with wall dongs everywhere and every single appliance that it did have also looked so used and run down. It almost reminded me of your typical hostile motel that you will find in the most run down cities. Bed sheets had what I think cigarette burns. Very limited to bathroom toilet paper and toiletries were not even provided. I called front desk and spoke to lady requesting and asking for more towels since they leave you just one to use, she replied by telling me she was going to bring them to my room, it wasn't a surprise that this never occurred or ever happened. I was never given any sort of receipt for my payment for the both days I stayed here. Air conditioner that was mounted on wall had missing and broken thermostat knobs that didn't even allow you to adjust temperature nonetheless turn the damn thing on! Overall completely dissatisfied and most assured I will not ever be staying at this over priced low budget run down motel ever again!

This hotel had everything I could have asked for. The staff was friendly, the hotel and rooms were clean, the amenities were modern and sharp, the bed was comfortable, and the location is centrally located. You also get free Wi-Fi and Evian water.

Very beautiful. All employees are very nice and made sure all my needs where accommodated. Wish I would have stayed MORE than one night.

Seriously this dump don't even deserve one star. Rooms are not clean, smells horrible, bad ass customer service, beat up furniture and beds, no towels, no tissue paper, broken ac, TV don't even work, the list just goes on. Really have absolutely nothing good to say about this place. Never again will I stay here. The only reason y I stayed here cuz all the hotel's close to me was booked and this was my last resort. Such a disappointment. Even motel 6 looks way better and I don't even like motel 6.

Booked online, clerk charged $30 extra saying reservation was not for a 2 bed room. Room is trashy. Bathroom door has been kicked in and 4 lightbulbs were burned out. Don't stay here, there are several other places on this block.

Updated a lot. Nice manager, a lot more clean, security has updated also. Rooms are not too small, doesn't stink. I would stay again.

Don't ever stay at this motel EVER. Let me put it this way, they forgot to mention the BED BUGS they have living in their beds. The most disgusting thing ever, oh did I forget to mention that they snuck their way into my bags and I ended up finding 2 bed bugs on my bed the day after. No one stay here unless you like living with blood sucking bed bugs.

Very nice man behind the bullet proof glass. Asked for non smoking room but it smelled of smoke, changed room with no problems. Room had no towels. Has a fridge and microwave but no ice machine. Not very clean. Bathroom door casing is caved in, no hangers. Don't bother.
