Front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly. My room was clean but a little out of date. The amenaties were good. Cleaning staff did an excellent job in servicing my room. I would definately stay there again.

The trip is ending here in San Diego after 5 weeks. I just wanted to say how accommodating the staff here is! From cleaning, to helping me with my husbands birthday to the amazing breakfast and social hours! I will miss this little home away from home. This place lands on top because of the amazing customer service! Love love love!

This place was amazing. Totally exceeded my expectations in terms of room. Full kitchen and upstairs full bedroom and bath. Wow a great place to stay for an extended period of time. Breakfast was also awesome.

They upgraded me to the penthouse suite! It was the nicest room I've ever been in. Had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. They also had a really good breakfast. They do a social night every Tuesday and Wednesday. Great if you want free beer and wine. However, I didnt really like the food they had to offer during the social hour. If you aren't too picky it is free though!

The studio 1BR on top floor was a nice floor plan and a nice place to “land” for a few nights after driving across country from Atlanta to San Diego. While the property and unit were a bit dated, I enjoyed my stay there. The only negative in my opinion was the lack of convenient parking spaces; and they all felt like smaller scale rather than a user-friendly sized parking space.

Nice rooms here and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast in the morning is really good and they also have free food/drinks 3 days out of the week in their community room. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. It's great!

Conveniently located off 163 freeway very close to I8. Just a hop skip and jump to downtown San Diego! The Residence Inn is setup like an apartment complex! Fully equipped kitchen, complimentary hot breakfast and evening social hour Monday — Wednesday. Staff is very friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend if in this area of San Diego.

Nice stay for a quick business trip. The property is a bit old but nicely maintained. For the most part, it's a standard old style Residence Inn where the larger suites still have lofts and fireplaces. The staff seems to be top notch. Close to freeways for easy transport and lots of good Asian food in the area.

When I got there, the girl at the front desk (Stephanie) was absolutely and genuinely nice and helpful. She upgraded my room. Also, based on the reason why I was in town, she provided me with information I needed even before I could ask them. On weekdays, breakfast is served at 6:00 a. M. And, on weekends, at 7:00. Because I needed to be at my conference by 7:00, she told I could come and grab some quick ready breakfast items like fruits and yogurt, if I wanted. She provided me with additional information about the amenities and gave me clear direction on how to get to my suite. The suites are set up more like apartments. The one I was in was the loft suite. Everything was clean. It's also just a beautiful suite. I would absolutely recommend it for anyone or a family, if they needed a place to stay while visiting San Diego. I enjoyed my stay there. I just wish I had a chance to go to the pool. They also have little picnic tables and covered grills on between the buildings. They are also very close to the highway, well situated from the airport and beaches. I made it to the breakfast one morning and they have a great selection of breakfast food. Parking and breakfast is complimentary.

I stayed here with my wife last year. It was a wonderful! Clean room, Good breakfast and the parking was just next to the room. The hotel staffs were warm and very helpful. If there's anything I would request for, it would be the television channels. More universal channels and channels for football lovers should be added, as well an upgrade of the gym and gym facilities. Overall excellent for me.

Cozy rooms with everything you need for a long stay. Staff were very nice and helpful. Fun having different food trucks come by on Wednesdays. Didn't use the pool or the basketball /tennis court.

Very clean and the young lady in the front desk is super nice and helpful. Pool is clean and gym and laundry room are available24 hours. Truly home away from home.

I had a great experience. When I checked in I was treated very well. All my questions were answered right away and check in took almost no time at all. The two ladies at the front desk Natalie and Xochilt made me feel welcome and were very friendly. I would say that your company is very fortunate to have hired these two ladies. Nice place. Clean, friendly staff. Great breakfast. Pool was on the cool side but hot tub made up for it. We rented a two bedroom loft and wished the glass doors on the main floor bedroom had better privacy. All in all a good place to stay.

Excellent place to stay! We have been repeat customers for 6 years now. Every time we return, Jonathan and his crew make us feel so at home away from home!

Stayed in a loft suite with a family of 7 it worked great! The rooms were so clean, the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Great for large families we'll definitely be staying here again!

Had loft suite which was great for us. Loft allowed our daughter and her friend some privacy and independence while sharing space with adults. Front desk was super helpful. Room was very clean. Will stay here again!

Staff was great. Got to meet the GM Jonathan seriously a friendly helpful man. Natalie, Xochilt and Rosie were amazing as well. Definitely will stay here again and again when I come to San Diego.

Great place to stay. All attractions are at a convenient distance. Service is excellent. We requested for an early check-in and they helped us with it.

Clean room, very large and practical. They have free Continental breakfast which has very decent selection of food. Gym on premise is small but clean and minimal equipment. It was nice to be able to exercise while on vacation. They also have a half basketball court and tennis court for the kids, pool and jacuzzi as well. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

I stay here frequently when traveling for business. The rooms are always clean and the staff is friendly. Adequate free breakfast and several evenings a week there is free food and drinks. Very convenient to my business needs.

Nice room (we stayed in penthouse suite with 2 bedrooms) but TV's are kind of old and don't have netflix built in. Wifi was spotty even for the enhanced speed. Nice kitchen mostly equipped but missing cutting knives. Nice heated pool and jacuzzi plus fire pit and sports court. Convenient to freeway but quiet. Driveway is a bit tricky to enter since there's no center turn lane. Good service and breakfast.

The bi-level suite was good. Complimentary food at certain times, but I only went for breakfast and it was great! Waffles.

The hotel is located right off the freeway. There's a few hotels and restaurants within walking distance. The reception staff is helpful and offered recommendations. There's a little snack shop by the front desk, as well as free coffee/tea. We booked a suite that's perfect for 4-6 guests. It was clean and the kitchen was stocked with basic needs such as dishes, pots and pans, utensils, and cups. They didn't have dish liquid though. The internet was quick. Starting at 7am they have complimentary breakfast — it's really good! When we were there they had scrambled and hardboiled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, waffles, cereal, baked goods, bagels, and more! One day they had tortillas and the other they had biscuits and gravy. Call in early if you'd like to request a late checkout. They leave your bill on the door on your last day so you can do an express checkout.

Breakfast starts 6am-9am. Show up early they don't restock! Waffles, Bagel's, eggs, dry cereal and fruit and yogurt. Quiet and safe location easy access to freeway and multiple restaurants and grocery stores in 5-10 miles.

I highly recommend the suites if you have a fairly big party. Plenty of room and all he amenities are included. Complimentary continental breakfast was great! Really close by Sea World.

This was nice clean quiet hotel. The rooms were very nice and met my expectations! I enjoyed my stay!

Stayed for three nights and loved this place. The housekeeping staffs are very good. I left two uncleaned bowls in the dishwasher but didn't switch it on. I thought would run it in the night along with the dinner plates. I left for SeaWorld at around 9. When I came back in the evening the dishwasher was empty. The housekeeping staff cleaned it on their own. That actually impressed me like anything. Very good job.

Good clean room and good staff but the breakfast is not worth getting up to eat. It's the same half done meal they serve at Hampton Inn. They could contract meals much better from somewhere locally and still pay about the same. So I definitely recommend the hotel but just go out to breakfast if you want something good to eat.

Very helpful staff. The location is near the highway, easy to navigate. Only downside is the landfill is directly behind the hotel. I would recommend reserving a room not so close and then you will be alright.

I stayed here for 3 months for work, and my family stayed with me. From the first day until the last, I've got nothing but compliments for the staff! The front desk ladies are friendly and always looking for ways to help. The maintenance guys are fantastic should something go wrong, the cleaning ladies are friendly and go above and beyond to keep things tidy. Other reviews have mentioned the buildings age. Yes they are older, but we only experienced one minor problem in the 3 months, besides that I would not have known if they were 4 years old or 40. No smells, nothing breaking, just comfortable rooms. What I found particularly nice was the little extras that this hotel has. When we arrived they had a little bag of snacks/popcorn/water for us so we did not have to shop the first night. They have a variety box of tea bags available 24/7 if you want to make tea. There are cookies out in the afternoon, iced and hot coffees, a bowl of hard candy and jars in each room. And on Monday and Tuesdays they have free beer/wine and food up front — very good food at that! It's a nice way to unwind from a day — and not have to cook dinner! And the day I checked out, they gave us a little snack bag to go (kids too! ) Since they remembered we had a long drive ahead. No, none of these things is a big deal, but they add up and really showed a level of care and attentiveness to ways to make our stay more comfortable that set it apart from any other hotel I've stayed at.

I stayed here for almost three weeks. I had an issue with my room when I arrived and the front desk quickly and professionally took care of it. I travel for work so I spend most of my time staying in hotels, this hotel had the unique and fantastic characteristic that their personnel is really friendly and helpful. I also had the best experience when it comes to cleaning my room. My room was cleaned spotless but with so much care and attention to detail that when I came back from work late in the night and exhausted it felt like home. This is the first time I had this feeling in all the years I've been traveling! I commended John the manager because I believe that the actions of his personnel are a reflection of his management style. A hotel is a structure with no emotions attached to it except for the people that work in it. I loved the ambience and the people that work here and when I go back to San Diego I will definitely stay here. Kudos to all of you!

I called the hotel to try and negotiate a lower price for a six day stay with a two day split. The "manager, " who fielded my request quoted "the best deal he could manage, " at 10 dollars higher (for the immediate two nights) than their own web site quoted me. He then went on "full pitch mode, " explaining how Monday through Thursday (the days I needed, magically) were their busiest days and that the best he could do for that would be over 200 dollars a night. I laughed at him and thanked him for his time. I can get the same shiesty behavior but save over 100 dollars a night just by hitting up one of the cheaper options where that kind of thing is expected. This is exactly why the hospitality industry has such a lousy reputation. I'm not sure if the person I spoke to was Ivan or Ian but that he didn't recognize that I probably wasn't calling because I was an overpaid mogul with money to throw away, he doesn't understand what his job actually is. I even told him I was a pizza guy from Riverside trying to improve my life by going to a class down here. Honestly, at this point I may end up just sleeping in my truck. (shrug) Safer than wading through druggies and cheaper than lying greedy hotel managers.

I went with my kids to visited my husbad to San Diego. He has been staying in the hotel since January 2016 and he always tells me good things about the hotel personal. We stayed with him for 15 days, we had a great time there, my husband was right. The hotel personal Sydney and Davya were so nice with us and change us to a penthouse very nice, clean and comfortable. Mrs Lucy and Vicky made awesome breakfasts and their attentions to us were always very nice. What can I say, everybody there is very friendly and make your time at the hotel special.

I have not had such a wonderful experience at a hotel before until I stayed at the Residence Inn in San Diego Central. The staff was very polite, very sweet and very professional. The rooms were clean and tidy making it feel fresh and welcoming. I was actually surprised how clean it was since they do allow pets, but they exceeded my expectations! I did bring three of my dogs and they were great to them at all times. It was a great experience overall. Would highly recommend to stay there.

This place is great! The suites have a full kitchen which includes a fridge, dishwasher, and stove/oven. They often have a happy hour during the week that includes free beer and wine along with a light dinner.

Absolutely the worst management I have ever dealt with. Ivan, the "front office manager", is so rude and unhelpful. I was charged $250 for "smoking" in the room even though I am not a smoker, disgusting. Ivan will not listen to anything I have to say and is pretty much saying I'm a liar since you know house keeping never lies (sarcastically said). This is an outrage and I will never be staying at a Residence Inn or any other Marriot affiliated hotel. Definitely do not recommend staying here. Not only was the house keeping awful, the smell of the hotel was disgusting being right next to a trash truck lot with all the horrible smells and super early noise. Along with that, the walls are horribly thin and you can hear all of the noise coming from the second floor straight through to the first floor. I will be contacting the GM, Jon, tomorrow to discuss this further. Ivan was very rude, unhelpful, and cant so his job appropriately. Unacceptable! STEAR CLEAR of this garbage pit.

Awesome location being off the CA-163. The rooms are great too. They are long term lodging so they have cook tops and whatnot. Too bad it's not gas though. My only complaint is that the parking lot is small. So if it's the peak season, it can be fun trying to find parking.

Good location — everything is not too far away. Rooms are OK — I'm not a huge fan of the layout, but it's still good. Service is great as always with Residence Inn's. The parking arrangement is not the greatest but not the worst either. I'd stay here again.
