Always pleasant, accommodations are well maintained. My wife and I enjoy the 3 pools set at different temperatures. Been coming her for 20 years, our go to place when visiting Napa Valley. 1 block away from restaurants, bars, grocery stores, shopping. Location is a big bonus.

Excellent staff (you will adore kimberly at the front desk), beautiful gardens, heavenly pools, and spacious room. Guests from across the nation and across the world. A lovely place to take an extended stay as rooms with kitchenettes are fully stocked with utensils and apartment size appliances. Easy stroll to restrauants, wine tasting, elegant shops, outstanding bookstore, and severl fun little pubs with live music on the weekends. There is also a nearby grocery store if you wish to make any of your own meals. The rear buildings are very quiet, the airconditioning strong and cold, and the parking safe and well lit. Don't miss this comfortable and charming inn!

Purchased the $169 package (mud bath for 2) for 60 mins, arrived about 10 minutes late because of gps taking us to hotel instead of the spa, then parking. When we got there they were rude. We went to the bathroom before we got in the mud baths. My mother was using the rest room and the front desk worker was complaining about how my mother was in there for awhile, making comments. Right when we got our robes on & were ready to get into the mud, they said we could only go in the mineral bath for 10 minutes. I stressed that we really wanted to go in the mud bath since it was our first experience with that. I asked if we could get as much time as we could in the mud bath. Then the worker started to “clean” the mud bath as we were standing there waiting to get into the bath and said we should wait a few more minutes because it could be super hot since she just cleaned it. All in all we paid $169 to sit in the mud bath for maybe 10 minutes tops. & for them to complain about how long my older mother took in the bathroom. Also they did not help us in the mud nor help us out. & she told us to put the clay on our faces ourselves. I know we were a few minutes late but I don’t think that should result in being treated poorly by the staff. Also she could have cleaned it while she was waiting because my mom took “so long” in the bathroom.

We only want to share experience of the mud bath. Select someone other than Patty for your mud bath experience, she was down right rude, patronizing to say the least. We have been at the Roman spa many many times with great srrvice, but Patty ruined our experience of the spa today! We have never encountered anybody so rude! We hope the management will train her to better service staff and/or get rid of her, she is not a person that is welcoming or inviting or makes you feel like you are special. Patronizing patty needs to go!

The pool os warm. The hot tub even hotter. O had a remodeled room and it was very nice.

Expensive spa services. Not fancy, but that is kind of what makes the place endearing. There are two pools and a jetted spa. The indoor pool is the hottest of the two pools and has a great jet system. The outdoor spa is really hot which on a cold day is perfect. Fun and relaxing. Lots of people, but not crowded.

Sure, it’s a little funky and probably a bit pricey but the location is wonderful and the staff a delight! We keep coming back, which is the highest compliment I can give.

Rooms were clean. The pool and the grounds were very nice, and the massage was good. We liked that it was walking distance to all the shops and restaurants we wanted to go to. The only real issue was the walls seem thin. Would have liked it a little quieter at night. We would probably go back, and don't regret staying there.

Great classic mineral waters for soaking and full spa. The rooms are lovely. Check out the specials. Its a little dated but clean and comfortable. I have been coming since 1980s.

Beautiful place, little pricey but nice for a getaway. Don't expect electronic key cards, they have old fashioned keys. It's close to the main strip of shops. Only one or two breakfast spots though so it can get crowded. Recommend getting bfast supplies from the grocery store and using the in room kitchen.

We got a mud bath. It was very relaxing and worth the price.

Reasonable prices, lovely garden, picnic area with gas grills, centrally located setting that is within walking distance of all of Calistoga. I've been going here since 1978 and love returning. Great Spa services across the parking lot. Enjoy!

Very expensive for a glorified motel with a hot pool. $250 a night for a functional but dated room is not a good deal. Yes, it is located in expensive Calistoga, one block from the main street. Yes it has a pool with warm water. Still, it's a motel, the bathroom is tiny, no breakfast, AC is noisy. I guess location is everything. A lot of old people in the pool, felt like a retirement home.

We love coming here. From the hot springs pool to the Saturday farmer's market. Calistoga is a great place to come and stay. The staff and the grounds here are top notch!

Great hotel in a very central location surrounded by vine yards. Different hot spring pools available. Rooms are clean and spacious.

Love the rooms with a kitchen and the pool is warm cute little place have stayed there 2 times highly reccommend.

What a great place to stay. While basically being a converted apartment complex, they really succeeded in turning it into feeling like a villa. The staff was great, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Great location right next to a grocery store. That makes preparing your own meals in the provided kitchenettes and dishes way convenient. Can't wait to stay again.

This is a charming, older hotel. Enjoyed the hot mineral bathing both indoor and outdoor. Would stay here again.

I recieved a mudbath and the service was really good. They really made me feel comfortable for my first time. The mud has an odd funky smell but youll get used to agter sitting in it for a while. It is then followed by a mineral bath and its really relaxing.

Went to Roman Spa for a mud-bath-massage surprise for my husband. Staff member Patty was very attentive and informative about the mud baths and made sure we had lots of water to drink. My husband enjoyed his surprise birthday present.

Fine spa. Great hot springs heated mineral pool. A little dated but quaint.

Got a deal on Groupon for the mud bath/mineral bath/massage. The staff were really nice and helpful. They have an indoor heated pool which felt really nice. The mud bath was boiling hot but my skin felt really nice and exfoliated after. Our attendant checked on us every 10 minutes with cold water and a cold towel. The massage I had was nice pressure but wish he spent more time on the knots in my back. The location is pretty convenient with restaurants and shops nearby.

First time staying at Roman Spa and we were not disappointed. The front desk, and other staff were friendly, the property, from the rooms, to the grounds, to the pool and spa areas were clean and well kept. We utilized the Roman Spa as well, on site, and my massage was wonderful. My friend did the mud bath and she enjoyed that. The whole experience in Calistoga was wonderful! We are planning to come back next year.

The best hot springs experience! Rained both days we were there (early Feb. 2017). Absolutely beautiful from ☔️drizzly sprinkles to dollops. Going into the open air, kidney shaped pool during the latter was nirvana; warmed body and refreshed head. Don't let the stark office fool you. It is as stark as this resort is lush! The beautiful landscaping full of flowers and palm trees of all kinds enhanced a wonderful rainforest-like experience. The grounds are beautiful. Three pools, different temperatures; floaties galore!
Clean and warm. And… lovely changing rooms with saunas. Giant blue and white towels for pools. Perfect location, 1 block from everything! Have umbrella, rubber boats and hoody raincoat ready to go! ‍‍ PS Sheets to die for!

We have been to a few spas in Calistoga. Although no pool compares to Indian Springs Olympic size-iconic, historic Calistoga mineral pool — The mud bath, massage, mineral bath and delightful pools here win hands down! We re-booked for our next visit! Thanks to Roman Spa, we had a relaxing wonderful experience!

Came here for the couples day spa. It was an incredibly relaxing and romantic experience. After soaking in the mud bath we got great massages. Great place to come for a spa day.

Clean. Comfortable beds with down comforters and pillows. Rooms are a bit small because it's an old building. Pleasant staff and easy check in.

Staff is great, rooms are nice, pool and hot tub Johnny's breakfast tasty.

Nice place. Very friendly with my 3.5 yo daughter. Will visit again.

What an amazing experience! Everything about our stay was top notch — the room was spectacular, the complimentary wine was a solid cab, the hot tub and pool were luxurious and well maintained. I could go on and on. The staff was welcoming and accommodating and the on site bar and restaurant were phenomenal — we felt pampered and relaxed the whole visit! Not to mention we were in one of the cottages — the private hot tub/bath was the cherry on top of an already 5 star experience. I would absolutely recommend and look forward to coming back again!

I unfortunately booked through Hotwire (my bad). Confirmation was very unclear. I got charged an extra $100 for kids for two nights. I decided to cancel, since a higher end hotel was same price with their extra charge. I cancelled within a half hour of booking, they were going to charge me a nights stay (over $300), the booking agent agreed to an $80 cancellation fee. I guess that nice, and yet, I can't get over feeling ripped off, when it was within the hour of booking, even having to pay $80 sours me to this property.

Thank you once again for a wonderful getaway! I can't say enough positive things about Roman Spa. I look forward every year to our visit and NEVER have been disappointed. I would like to express a special thank you for the care on this particular trip. Travelling with my elderly mother and the attention and care given towards her made me smile the entire time. Unfortunately, we had to cut our trip short due to a sudden illness. The front office, management and spa were so accommodating! You truly know how to deliver customer service. As I lay my head down on my purchased Roman Spa pillows I will remember the awesome few days spent at the resort! Until, next time, thanks!

Overall: wouldn't come again. Cons: Dated rooms with noisy heating and poor parking management (don't assume you will always get a park). Wifi keeps timing out too, and no breakfast. Finally, not family friendly (if you have under 4s they are physical banned from the pool area even under supervision, even if they are not able to walk or crawl and aren't anywhere near the pool. This makes for a fragmented family experience. Pros: nice pools and floral decorations, reasonable kitchen setup with enough to do basic cooking, very close to Cal Mart which is an excellent supermarket.

We adore this place! First positive experience was booking the room. Judy was very professional and courteous. She was very patient and helped me choose the right room. We ended up booking the big suite. Upon arrival, we noticed how the grounds were well manicured and tastefully decorated… and lots of color from blooming flowers. We met Judy, and a gentleman who carried our luggage to our room on the second floor. +2 more positive experiences.
When we opened our door, WOW! What a beautiful room. The bathroom is almost as large as the bedroom. And the jetted mineral tub was an absolute plus! There's also speakers throughout the place so you can listen to music or your TV show while bathing or showering in the huge shower with 4 rain heads. This vacation stay was our perfect romantic wedding anniversary getaway. Restaurants and shops are a walking distance away. Our only regret is that we wish we could have stayed two nights. Tomorrow morning, we get massages in the couples' room. Can't wait!

I am a local and I was basically harassed by the owner of the resort. Here is my story. My family goes to this resort annually. We wanted to try something different so we tried other resorts in the area, they were all booked up so we went to the Roman Spa. It was OK because this is where we go there anyway annually. This year something changed. My family booked there rooms for 3 nights, I booked for 2 since I live locally. A total of 4 rooms. I spent over $500.00 for 2 nights, upon my checking out I told the receptionist I would be hanging out for the rest of the day by the pool celebrating my cousins 50th birthday, she said no problem enjoy! So I did. Then 4.00pm came around and the owner confronts me by the pool and says you are no longer a guest here, you have to leave or pay another night, very rude, I replied I may stay another night, I don't know yet. 40 min later she sends out a pool boy with a key and a credit card slip saying, here is your key and sign this $189.00 credit card slip in front of everyone in the pool. I then said I will not be staying here another night I will be leaving, he said no you have to take the key and sign the slip. I then got out of the pool, went into the lobby and spoke to the owner. I said I only hung out for 4 hrs in the pool, why do you treat people this way, she replied, those are the rules, if you check out you cannot be in the pool after 1:PM or pay for another night, but in a very smart rude tone of voice.

My wife and I got the friday special which included a session in the mud bath and the mineral springs followed by a 50 minute massage. We will definitely go back again. The mud bath was very relaxing and our attendant was fantastic. I give it 4 stars for the following reasons: 1. The mud bath room was a little bright and the music was a little too loud. I think it would be nicer if the light was lower and the music wasn't quite so loud. 2. My massage therapist was pretty good especially on the shoulders neck and head, but not too great on the hands and feet (even after I said I really needed a foot massage). Other than that it was great. The location is easy to find and easy to park at and the drive to Calistoga is so beautiful. As I said we will be going back to do this again.

My husband and I spent our second anniversary here in one of the Splendido Jacuzzi Suites. It was absolutely amazing! The room is beautifully designed and very comfortable for a cozy night in. The bed was more than comfortable. The fireplace was such a nice touch! It's between the bedroom and bathroom so you can see and feel it on both sides. I'm definitely a bubble bath kind of girl, so I spent a nice night in the jacuzzi tub with some champagne and soft music through their in room iHome while my husband watched football on the giant TV. It was like we were at home. With an upgrade of course! It was a wonderful place to come back to after a long day of wine tasting. It's also in a great location — close to the downtown area with plenty of restaurants, driving distance to some great wineries and walking distance to the spa. Making reservations was incredibly easy and everyone I spoke with was very helpful and accommodating. I will definitely recommend this hotel (and the jacuzzi room! ) to anyone looking for a lovely place to stay in Calistoga and wine country.

Great place for a couples Mud Bath experience. Traveling to L. A. We passed through Calistoga to have a mud bath. After checking the resort over, we decided to stay. We are so glad we did. The room was very comfortable and Very Quiet. We had mud baths, massage and then melted away the night in a deep sleep in our room. The Spa staff helped in getting our room and did a great job at the Spa itself. 5 star treatment at Roman Spa.

Wife and I are visiting from out of town, and at first the exterior was jot what we expected. The best part was that it was a highlight of our trip. We loved the mud bath, mineral bath and couples massage. Great experience.

Nice getaway. We had a great experience. The staff is super friendly and accomadating. The rooms are cozy and very clean, I would definitely recommend a friend. The beds are very comfortable, the spa is lovely. It was our first time taking mud baths and we loved it.
