Friendly, efficient front office. Grounds well cared for. Relaxing even with little kids having water fun!

Super family friendly. Each room has a kitchenette. The rooms surround the 4 heated pools (diff temps) and a couple BBQ pits. This set up allows parents to put kids to bed with baby monitors for nap time or need time and still hang out by the pool. Maintenance staff were super responsive and friendly.

Hotel with several mineral water pools. The rooms are nice and remodeled with a full. Kitchen. Spa with mud baths is excellent.

A wonderful massage with very professional staff. Some other patrons left trash all over. Which we promptly picked up.

We frequent another resort in town and thought it was time to mix it up a little bit. Came here really hoping it would turn into another go-to place for a quick getaway in Calistoga. We arrived for our one night stay and immediately noted how much the building looked like a dentist's office, not a whole lot of soul to the exterior. Walk into the front desk area and the sterile theme repeated itself. Nothing spa like there either. The gal working the counter never really welcomed us. Asked for my name, had me sign the registration form and informed us of their hilarious pool towel policy: one towel per guest, issued at the desk, and we'll be fined if we don't return them. Huh? I've stayed at hundreds of resorts, hotels, hostels and campgrounds, but have never had my towel use rationed. How very… cheap. She never explained the facilities or what was available to us. Never wished us a good stay. Oh well, we were excited for pool time, so gathered our towels and toted them to our room like the precious possessions they were. Headed to our smaller than expected room with a cute little picnic area out front. Room was clean, but very basic. Clearly a motel masquerading as a resort. Cheap carpet, cheaper bedding. Very lumpy and hard mattresses. Only one mirror and that was in the bathroom, making it pretty hard for three women to get going in the morning. To their credit it was very clean. On to the pools. Having four different water temperatures was great.

(Family review) Baby friendly! Nice updated rooms with useful kitchenette. Baby pool is like a warm bath and 18inches at deepest part.

Courteous people, professional, clean area, an excellent place to get wellness type of procedures and hot spring pools. I recommend this place.

This boutique hotel is a beautiful oasis in the wine country. My husband and I loved everything here: the large beautiful modern rooms with tall ceilings, comfy bed and a kitchenette, the bathrobes, the geothermal mineral pools, the enormous Jacuzzi and the gorgeous grounds. Oh, and the spa! I had my very first mud bath experience, it was relaxing and simply wonderful. I highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly (special shout out to Ariana and Gloria at front desk). The parking is easy and free, and the hotel is located just a few steps away from the main street in Calistoga. We walked to the local grocery store and the local coffeeshop in the mornings, then drove to wine tastings in the afternoon, and walked to the local restaurants in the evening. Highly recommend this charming, serene and beautiful hotel! P. S. They let us charge our plug-in Prius, which was an extra bonus.

I wish I had photos to share of this place. Its well worth the time and money. Theres really nice bars and places to eat within walking distance. Staff there are really nice. I dropped my id and credit card in the parking lot and they held onto it for me (unlike most places where they would likely steal it).

We love it here. Low key and well located for restaurants and bars. Good hiking just down the road.

We came as a group for massages this weekend and we all enjoyed the services. This was my first spa experience, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I was pleased (especially after reading other reviews that had me nervous. ) We were given robes and sandals and towels were provided in the locker room for showers (at the front desk for outside. ) The robe and towels were not plush, but that didn't bother me at all. The spa was clean, but not spotless — the shower curtain needed a wash and the soap holders we're a little cruddy. Staff was nice, but not over the top accommodating. I liked the jacuzzi pool, but my friends thought it was too warm. I could've stayed there in front of the Jets all morning! I'll come back to try the mud bath next.

I have been a guest at this spa for many years! I come back for the amazing healing experience from the Hot Springs water in the various pools, the associates are so kind and attentive, the proximity from your room to the pools is steps away, late night soaking, and lovely rooms recently remodeled are delightful! Not to mention walking distance to the shops and restaurants is half a block away! Never a disappointment at.

We had a very pleasant stay. The choice of 2 heated pools at different temperatures and hot tub is great. Not allowing kids in the hot tub is terrific! The lighting on the walkways is dim and could be improved for older folks like us. Nonetheless, the walkways and pool areas are safe and without trip hazards. The rooms are clean and adequate. We appreciated the kitchenette. The bath towels and robes are great. It would be nice to include a full service restaurant as the restaurants in town are mostly wine bars, taverns, and pizza places except for the Calistoga Inn, which was good.

Very popular place as long line there always. Very good burger. The only thing is, even for kids meal, the burger is still big, tasty but kid could only finish half.

Great service. The staffs were patient and helpful. The hotel/spa locates at the heart of Calistoga. There are good restaurants and stores nearby. The hot spring pools are soothing. Rooms are clean. We stayed in a queen bed suite with full kitchen. The sofa bed was big and the suite can accommodate 4 people easily.

It's an amazing place. Have been coming here for years and I never get bored. It's a good location, too, because there are many dining options nearby. Love it here.

Inattentive rude staff. Had to check out one day early due to ultra stiff bed. Staff could have cared less and didn't even offer options. It is clear they just want your cash one time and aren't interested in return customers. Quite a shame as the property is well kept and has a resort feel. I would however recommend against wasting your money here with so many other options in this price range.

Very nice place to stay in Calistoga. Not too flash, but nice rooms and the hot pools are great. Has a well equipped gym attached. Staff very helpful.

Just returned from a 2 night stay & had a great time! Enjoyed the newly remodeled rooms, especially the fan & swivel mirror in the bathroom. A few technical difficulties like the frig was loud & up too high so H20 & food froze, A/C also not user friendly & Cable signal suddenly list at pm. Medium pool H20 level is too high to combat mineral build up I understand but not "lounge friendly" for anyone petite like me. Wanted Late Checkout but that was a "No Go" because you need to call @7:30 am but the office open @8:00am? It would have been a nice compensation after I was delayed getting into town by over an hour due to the Harvest Dinner. Every street was blocked & the detours were poorly routed. If we hadn't called & received directions by one of your front desk attendants; I would have never found the way to the Spa (Google Maps included). The beauty of Napa made up for all those little things but still. Rooms are very clean by Gloria & her amazing crew, new bathroom/locker rooms are a huge improvement & all amenities the Spa had to offer keep me coming back.

Please explain what justifies raising the prices for a mud bath (which are the best in the area) by 50%?! There was NO renovation to the men's side whatsoever, which is fine because we come for the mud, but again… see above. Also, unless you go on a chilly, rainy day, expect it to be a version of Magic Kingdom with kids everywhere. "Spa… "? Really? Even my earphones couldn't compete with the noise. The mud is spectacular but at $99 + gratuity, I'll think twice about going again. Sad, as the saying seems to go these days… It used to be a spectacular getaway.

We stay at this hotel a few times a year. What a beautiful area and the hotel is absolutely perfect. Clean rooms, kitchenette (which we always use for cooking dinner), bathrooms are clean and renovated. Beds are comfortable. Check-ins and outs easy and swift. Will continue our family tradition and enjoy this hotel.

The pool is awesome and (once) quite famous. The mud bath comes from mud heated by springs nearby. I thought it would be amazing. It's kind of meh. You sit in tub and they cover you with mud for a bit. I thought it would be warmer. Then you go to a super cold tub to cool off and then proceed to a dark quiet room to cool down. It's cool and fun to do but not sure if it is worth the fee. I'd rather personally spend it on a massage instead.

The room we have is great. Upgraded. Has a kitchen to prepare meals and bed is very comfortable. The Hot Springs are great. There are 3… a pool at 80 degrees. Another smaller Pool at 100 degrees and the best is the 104 degrees. The water feels amazing and the Hotel is very clean with a nice gym. Will come back again.

Nice pool. Great staff. Enjoy staying here and relaxing. It's an older family spot so set expectations accordingly gun could be better. It's very basic and the rooms have kitchens which is great for bringing your own food and cooking.

I grew up coming here, over 40 years. I watched this place develop and grow. This place was the best. However, now that they don't care about the little people that made this place what it is by not allowing day use of the pools anymore, I will never go back to this place. They care more about the money that your patronage.

This was my first visit since the remodel, and I loved it. Ambience is really nice and the pools were near perfect. The cold pool was a little dirty, but I won't knock it down a rating for something so silly. I had great time and I look forward to coming back!

How does hit place have a decent rating? My husband and I ended up here after he mistook it for Indian springs, the springs we were referred to. It was disgusting. The massages were held in corners of the locker rooms and there wasn't even a door it was a shower curtain! Plus you could hear all the women talking. I couldn't even stay for the massage I was so uncomfortable. There also was not one person under the age of 65 there.

My favorite Spa in Calistoga. It has facilities that are better than Indian Springs and price for services is almost twice chipper. In addition it is half a block from great sandwich place, block away from Mexican place and grocery shop with really good take out food, Half a mile from good BBQ place and Lora Michelle Winery, and a mile away from history and incredible Chateau Montelena! Basically this place has it all! Oh and if you are applying for something fancy Yountville is only 25 minutes away.

I have gone there for 20 years. They are wonderful. Never ever rude. I will never go anywhere else. I think they are the best.

I have been coming to the Calistoga Spa Hotsprings for approximately 40 years. I have come with family, friends and have brought my children and grandchildren many times over the years. Living within an hour or so drive, we would often venture up just for the day use of the pools. I have to say, although mostly enjoyable primarily due to the pools, there is nothing else really remarkable anymore. The office staff is notoriously ungracious but, we laugh about it. It's not funny anymore. They care not if you have been a long time customer. But, we continue to come here anyway just because of the tradition and the memories our family and friends have created. With all of the other places in town now, you would think that the ownership would do something to try to be a bit more welcoming and gracious but, they just can't or won't. It's impossible to run up and use the pools spontaneously anymore and if you're lucky enough, be prepared to shell out over 30.00 per person to do so. Room reservations need to be made months in advance and often for a 3 night minimum. Now I see that the basic room rates are well over 400.00 on summer weekends. This is a massive jump from even a year ago. I suppose they do this because they can. In any case, I will no longer go to the Calistoga Spa because, it just doesn't feel good anymore. A basic room and use of the pools hardly warrants exorbitant room rates.

Spent Valentine's weekend here with my husband and some friends. We are from the Sacramento Area. The rooms and the pools were nice but the Spa facility and service was the worst I've ever experienced. The day we arrived we were informed that one of our booked massages had to be canceled because someone called in sick. They didn't even call us in advance to inform us. The front desk lady was rude, didn't greet us or smile at all…terrible customer service. So because of the cancellation I only had the mud bath which was horrible. The spa facility is outdated, upon arriving they hand you a linen to cover yourself after you undress vs. A robe. It smelled horrible, the tubs and showers were disgusting. During your bath and soak they hand you a cool wash cloth which is old and smelly. The staff would talk and giggle. They were eating and drinking in front of us. Very rude and unprofessional… not relaxing at all. After my service I had to ask a staff member for a towel because there were none to be found in the locker room and shower area. I will never go back. I DO NOT recommend there spa services to anyone.

My friend was visiting from Colorado & was really excited about going to the hot springs. This place is an hours drive from my house so I called ahead to ask about the number of day passes available for the day and they told me 25. So after spending the hour to get there I'm told that all passes have been sold, although they ended up selling a lot less than 25. Had I known that they would do that I would have saved us a pointless 2hr round trip. I have been here before, it's the only place offering day passes but they really screw around with you so I'm not sure if it's worth it. The 2hrs of driving on bad information definitely weren't.

This place going down. First of all place is so dirty. Staff put u on hold over 20 minutes to get straight answer. Food all over floor. Bbq grill was dirty no brush or towels to clean up. i am so sorry drove 1.5 hours for big disappointment. My god lady manager was so rude. Is shame any other place is much better more professional.

We did the mud bath (mud bath + mineral bath + steam room + wrap). The dimly lit "spa" room looked like something out of a snuff film — old, cracked concrete and old stainless steel, individual tubs covered in calcium deposits. Mineral water jacuzzi was the same. The place was less than sanitary. I doubt they sterilize anything between clients, and every guest was walking around the spa with bare feet, no sandals. Would not go again. 2 stars instead of 1 because all else aside, the mud bath was a pretty neat new experience. I would recommend avoiding this place, and getting a mud bath elsewhere.

This is a beautiful place with great facilities. I've been coming here for years. However, my last visit was a real disappointment. Young kids were permitted to play and use their large flotation devices in the area of the pool reserved for lap swimming. Not only did that violate the rule of no flotation devices except for noodles and for infants, but it made it impossible for the people who wanted to swim in the two lap swimming lanes. The staff were useless and not only did not enforce their rules, they didn't even know what the rules were! While I know this is a family place which caters to people of all ages, it is not right for the young kids to be allowed to take over the whole pool so that others cannot use it.

Pools are nice but their staff could use some training in customer service. They are always rude, I say always because we come there often and the treatment we observe towards customers is unexceptble.

I thought this might be a nicer closer alternative to Harbin hot springs. But I was wrong. The cost just to dip into the pool is very high and the hours are very short. The days are also limited. The pools are nice but the water doesn't feel particularly special. Harbin has 5 pools with more distinct mineral characteristics. Sierra hot springs which is Harbins sister property is farther away but so much more quiet and relaxing then the other ones. It's a very high pressure sales driven environment at Calistoga. It is completely impossible to detach yourself from knowing all that when you're trying to soak amongst other commercial pool users who seemingly don't mind paying for all these add-ons that don't even seem necessary to relax. A horrible commercial environment that sadly looks nice.

I enjoyed the spa treatments (mud bath, mineral bath, massage) here and their staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are clean but basic.

Poor service. Had to give a hefty deposit for towels, even though we were staying there. No movement on late check out (set at 11am) lobby closed until 8:30. Considering the money they charge (5star) its only worth a (2 star).

The worst place ever!. Poor customer service. Traveled for 120 miles to relax but in return was really disappointed and my day was ruined because of that shitty place. Would not recommend to any one to come here.

The following happened to me at Calistoga Hot Springs on Monday 8th, 2013. I, and three of my girlfriends, received the most rude and unprofessional treatment from the Spa Manager present on Monday, October 7th. We were greeted initially with the surprising predicament that the two of our husbands and one of our girlfriends couldn’t simply enjoy the adjoining pool because they didn’t pre-book ‘spa services’ while we were receiving ours. The pool access is $25 and the manager amazingly assured us that she turned away ‘so many people that day, and that we were not excluded’. She reasoned that ‘they were so busy’ (the lobby was basically empty as she said this) and that the rest of us, who didn’t have spa services booked, couldn’t be added. I decided to share a package service with my other girlfriend at that point so that she alone could have access to the pool. Of course we were promptly informed that we needed to pay ‘extra’ since the services were ‘separated’. The one other customer present during this interchange was arguing with the other employee that he ‘had not been properly charged…again’. Our two husbands were kind and patient enough to wait in the lobby for hours. After four of us got into the pool, we realized that it was not even a third full for hours. There were merely 15 people chilling, mostly outside the pool. We decided to call the spa manager and ask again if they could pay and get into the pool but sure enough, we were refused again.

The view from our room was priceless. The grounds were well kept, parking was easy to find, although a bit of a haul with our luggage to get to room 201, which was our perfect room location, upstairs away from the sounds from the pool, and on the end, so we only had one neighboring room. Nice! The heated mineral pools were heavenly. The people who paid to use the pool (non-hotel guests) were generally loud and some of them appeared to be mentally "off", the last evening we were there, but capacity is regulated, and the pool is for guests only after 9:00, so we had ample time to relax and enjoy. I will add that many of the locals using the pool were quite pleasant and interesting to talk to. Our room size was very large, with a little kitchenette, but NO MICROWAVE, so don't bother bringing leftovers back from the fantastic restaurants in town. Location is just a block from the main drag, with all the restaurants and shops. This is our new favorite lodging in the Napa Valley, given the value for the money. I would not pay more than $175. Check-in was a breeze, as was check-out. Bill was 100% accurate, which doesn't always seem to happen.
