Reviews of Motel 6-Buena Park, CA - Knotts Berry Farm - Disneyland 2*
Very clean. Looks exactly like the picture posted. Staff very friendly and helpful. My ac was not working so I was moved to another room with no problem. Great location and close to many restaurants and fast food locations. No microwave in the rooms but one downstairs, as well as a washer and dryer. Just right for the price. Can't wait to visit again.
Rates at this Motel 6 are always cheap and make a trip much more worth it as you can save money lodging here. Pets are welcomed so there's no excuse to not treat yourself to a vacation. Shopping centers are right next door, especially food joints that aren't expensive. Clean rooms, housekeepers are great at their jobs… No reason to not give this place 5 stars!
Front desk personnel were friendly. Rooms were clean but could use more improvement to details. Hot water and water pressure seems to be an issue at Motel6 properties. Bath towels need to be upgraded to a better quality material. The towels are rough in the skin and fall apart easily, leaving lint all over your body. Location is easy to get to.
The room served its purpose nicely of having a bed to sleep on at night. We liked being on the ground level near the ice machine and the pool. The front desk employees were pleasant whenever we needed something. Two downsides were having to ask for towels every day. We were told the motel is short on towels. The other was not having a hairdryer. Luckily I had asked ahead of time so I was prepared with bringing my own. It sounds like a silly thing but these days hotels are kind enough to have a hairdryer so it’s one less item to have to pack. One other thing was the front of the air conditioner fell off all the time if bumped so we just left it off. The motel location is great for easy access to the freeway!
This motel's best feature is the price. It is old and in need of refurbishing. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but the bath room smelled like smoke. Also the particular room I had was in the courtyard with the pool. The first night I was there was a Monday and it was noisy until very late. On the weekends, the price rises almost 40 % to $80.00 or so and is definitely low quality for that amount. Still for someone too poor to afford a motel in CA, the week nights make it possible. When I arrived after 3, there were no first floor rooms ready. I was told I would have to wait an hour and another woman walked in a half hour later, without a reservation and was given a first floor room. I spoke up before they served her and still she was given a room!
The night manager was in the middle of a technical meltdown on eternal hold with tech support when we came in. He was so flustered (we’ve all been there). Long story short, super nice man. The cleanest motel 6 I’ve ever stayed in. Well decorated. Third floor had great water pressure. Hot water. And yes, they leave the light on for you. Oh yeah lots of food choices and nail salons within walking distance (like a block away). Happy truck driver from Louisiana here. Will stay again. Thanks Y’all.
You can book this place for cheap and it’s surround by lots of great places to eat and then the value stops there. I checked in with my kids, I was exhausted, I laid on the bed for one hour (room 133) and my arm was itching like crazy. Turns out the room had bed bugs! I had bites all over my right arm! I went to the front desk and the receptionist was very accommodating and moved us to room 122. The receptionist told us we would receive a voucher for a one night stay at the motel 6 franchise. Upon checkout, I spoke to a different receptionist who went and got the manger or owner, I don’t know which, and this guy tells me they need to do an “investigation, ” and that they will contact me to let me know the “outcome” but I’ve heard nothing yet. Take your money and go somewhere else. I will post a picture if I can figure out how to load it. Zero stars if I could.
My brother & I checked in on the 7th & have extended our stay & possibly a third week if needed be. We can not express how grateful we are to Heather from front desk! We called early that same day to see if we'd be able to do an early check in, said she'd see what she could do & the moment we got there, the kind young man checked us in quickly. When we rechecked in on Thursday, Heather was there once again to help us get situated. The ENTIRE staff at this facility is so awesome! Housekeeping staff is THE greatest ever! We use our own blankets & these ladies always straighten out the sheets. The location of our room is the best! The garden is my favorite! Thank you for providing kind hospitality to my sibling & I!
In charge of the hotel is very friendly and attentive. The place is clean and there are many restaurants asus surroundings.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave excellent information about the area, giving directions to the mall and Fed Ex in order to have the best experience while visiting the area. A special thanks to Heather at the front desk who excels in service and personality.
A very clean and nice staff very friendly I'll come back.
Rooms were pretty clean, still bleached the toilet and shower before we felt comfortable using them. You can hear the freeway noise through the walls, but still felt very comfortable and safe to go to sleep. The staff in the office and the cleaning ladies were AWESOME! They didn't have enough wash cloths and towels in our room, and they weren't finished being washed, so they delivered them to our room, still warm, when they were finished. We also requested another ice bucket to keep our granddaughters milk cold through the night and they brought that to us with ice in it already. They were very attentive to our needs, so that overshadowed the fact we had to bleach the bathroom.
Tammy at the front desk deserves a raise! House Keeping deserve more respect! They bust their butts, hands and are unappreciated. I was an Architectural Sheet Metal Local I began in 1989… was working for Paller & Goldstein Sheet Metal a Mom & Pop Shop. They treated us like family! When the corporate model invaded the building trades, It was all about the net-sheet… companies would layoff their employees before Mothers day, Thanksgiving and Christmas… and I had to explain my wife and 2 daughters why the laid me off… it was about money for the corporation. Motel 6 may want to learn from the McDonald's Corp… to be a manager at 1 of their locations, the employee MUST work every station in the restaurant! You should consider having your CFO start by cleaning the parking, laundry, toilets with vomit and all over the restroom, wet beds… 13 a day without fail… no excuses…
Very pleased on the cleanliness of the remodeled rooms. Not a lot of foot traffic at night considering it was the weekend. Close to restaurants as well as fast food. Would most likely stay again when in Buena Park, CA.
Hotel and room did not look like anything in the website Beds Were uncomfortable shower in shower head were extremely small. I pretty much how to get on my knees just so I can get my head wet. I believe price should be lower only for the quality of the room. Will not recommend Stay at that location.
Had it not been for the fussy children we would have gone across the street to La Quinta for just a few bucks more. This Motel 6 was the worst of all. We've stayed in Motel 6 throughout California and have never encountered such a dirty place — inside and out. Upon arrival we were told the rooms we reserved on-line would not be available and were put into a filthy room with two beds. I'm 5'8" and my feet hung over the bed. The floors were dirty upon arrival as evidenced by the dirt that led to the bathtub. The drain in the sink and bathtub were plugged and it was difficult to shower effectively because it was gross! The water would accumulate on the bottom of the tub and had a yellow tinge… I thought "maybe that's California" water but when I opened a plastic cup and caught fresh water from the shower head I quickly noted it was not! The television did not work and only a few channels were functioning. We paid for each person in our room (2 adults and 2 children) and were only provided with 2 large towels. Each morning we would have to go downstairs and obtain 2 additional towels. The hotel room was significantly smaller than what is reflected on their website and the picture on the website is of the "good" side of the motel. On the other side and in the back it is apparent that this hotel is run-down.
I love the area. Not far from disneyland. The clerk at check in Was extremely nice. The room was nice. It would have been perfect except there was dirt and hair on the sheets and pillow cases. The front desk said she couldn't bring clean sheets cause she was the only one.
Horrible. We planned a President's Day weekend vacation to Anaheim. Booked 2 double rooms with two beds in each room for 2 nights. They called to inform us rooms were not going to be ready/cleaned at check in. Wich was fine being that we would be coming from out of state anyway and may be a little later than 3pm. When we arrived and checked in, the first room given to us was a single room with a single bed. Went to the front desk to explain the mistake, and was met with skepticism. She did not believe the room was a single and had to confirm with housekeeping. We were then issued a double room with double bed that I then had to go and get a replacement remote for the television because it was broken. We then checked into the second room, and found a used heroin syringe sitting bye the lamp. Upon further inspection, we found blood stains on the walls, likely from the heroin user, dirty used wash Rags hanging from the shower curtain which were no longer White. Informed the front desk about our findings, to our knowledge no one collected the syringe that we had to dispose of our selves. We were not even offered a replacement room. Needless to say we checked out first thing in the morning as we were forced to stay the night being that it was a holiday weekend in a major area that was completely booked up. Our vacation was ruined and we were not going to able to go anywhere else nor prepared to make the drive back to Arizona.
Great place to stay and be close to the theme parks Area, convention center, shopping and food area.
We normally stay at Motel 6 since we treat the room as only a place to sleep and Motel 6 is pet-friendly. This is probably the worst M-6 we've stayed in. There must be worse but we've never been to them. The positives 1. Desk staff were wonderful. Very nice, very pleasant. 2. Room itself was clean. The rest 1. The bathroom counter was unpleasantly stained, corrupted with what appeared to be chemical burns, chipped, generally uninviting to use. 2. The sink drain plug was non-functional. It had to be removed to successfully use the sink 3. The toilet needed to be cleaned before we could use it. 4. The shower stall is chipped and stained, but otherwise functional. There appeared to be cigarette scars on the edge of the tub. 5. There were 2 towels and 2 wash cloths for a room designed and paid for 4 people. 6. The outlet by the bed did not have an outlet cover — — the electrical connections were openly exposed. 7. The smell of cannabis along the north outer corridor was overwhelming, but now that it's legal in CA, I guess this can't be listed as a credible complaint. But we did have to avoid the stairs leading down to street level on that side. And we got all this for $80 total. For slightly less than twice this total, my brother and his family stayed at the Hyatt House Cypress/Anaheim the same overnight with an extraordinary room. Will we stay at M-6 again? Probably. Will we stay at this one? Not again.
Very good service the price is cheaper than you enter cities near the Anjeles to 29 miles not bad.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The service arrangement is the best, we have always been served with the best possible human quality.
Thanks to all and especially to the managers of shift, to Nohemy, Leo, Daysi and Magy…
I did not like this hotel, I was told that if I wanted to check in early I just had to call earlier, I called but when it arrives it turns out that there still room available, wait almost 2 hours, the room smelled like cigar, the dirty sheets, in the tub hair, battle with the keys XQ 3 cessation I had to reschedule, and the second day when they cleaned did not leave us towels still used and best candlestick the third day and I went to another hotel that I came out cheaper and cleaner the hotel good night, the truth I do not recommend this Motel 6
First, let me state the staff is very nice! The room for a budget hotel is ok hardwood floors were not dirty but dusty maybe elevator was out of order The room was a non-smoking room that had a very strong smell of smoke (front desk staff did ask if we wanted to move — to tired and a toddler that was already cranky) Bed, lets just say, yes there were two beds in the room room size very small and night stand was right next to both beds with no space, so you could roll over and the night stand could become part of the bed The staff would be the only reason I would ever stay at this hotel again and since I also have to think about the room, I would not stay here again To the staff thank you for all you did to try and make the night stay good!
It was very relaxing! Definitely liked the remodeled Motel 6 here. It was actually very cool. Three levels and Starbucks along with Yogurt Land in the same plaza! Almost everything is in walking distance. It's just in a great location overall. We enjoyed our stay!
Upon arrival the front of the hotel near the lobby looks nice. Once you drive around the back to park and go to your room it's a whole other story. Trash everywhere, drug addicts walking around, and run down looking. After going to our room, within a few minutes we killed a cockroach. People were running up and down the stairs all night. The people in the room above us sounded like they were moving furniture all night. We noticed there was not a do not disturb sign, so we went to the lobby and we're told they don't offer do not disturb signs but they would make a note so the housekeepers didn't go into our room. When we got back to the hotel the next evening we realized housekeeping had gone into our room anyways. Then the banging from upstairs continued all night again. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and we will never stay there again.
I really enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean and cozy. The maid service was exceptional. Great Wi-Fi and Television channels with cable. I can't wait to stay at Motel 6 again.
I loved my stay there the staff is top notch the maid's do there job awesome thanks again Roxanna. The office people really helped us out the ones who stood out are Tammy, Alondra and Calvin good luck with your new job sir your going to do great! We look forward to going back in mid December.
It's a very clean place and the rooms are very comfortable I love the friendliness of the maids I recommend.
Let me start off my saying that I would have enjoyed my 5 day stay even more if the following concerns can be changed. Let's start with the smell of cigarette in a non-smoking room. So I don't know if the curtains/drapes need to be washed or the walls need to be wiped down. The next issue I had was with your housekeeping staff. While I was trying to sleep in, I would ask them to come back in 1 hour. Upon my return to the room, twice my room was not services and items were not replaced. Such as removing the used towels and supplying me with clean ones, including the floor towel when stepping out of the shower. When I called front desk to ask them to bring me the items I needed, the clerk told me I had to go to the front desk and get them. I was on the 3rd floor of this location, so that was unacceptable! Her explanation was she is the only person there tonight, so she cannot leave her post. The other issue was my parking pass. I had a rental for 4 days and was not given a parking pass to put on my dashboard. I don't even want to imagine my anger if this rental was towed, because of this error caused by your staff! The next complaint was about ice machine that is located near the parking lot. This week in particular was very hot, and I enjoy having ice for my drinks. But twice I have gone downstairs to get some ice and the machine was completely empty… and it's the only machine on site!? Are you kidding me? That has to be fixed.
Worst place ever… first, my family and I traveled from Arizona to California and went to check in our room only to find out our room was not ready. Our itinerary said check in was 3pm and we arrived at 430pm. The counter person just shrugged her shoulders and apologized but wasn’t sincere at all. She tried calling her housekeeper and was unsuccessful. We were told housekeeping was on a lunch break. I tried calling other hotels while waiting for our room to be finished only to find out everything in the area was booked solid which forced us to wait. My husband is a disabled veteran which was noted when booking the room. They tried to put me on a second story room which was not going to work due to our wheelchair needs. She told us a handicap room was not available and put us in another room located on the first floor but was not handicap equipped. My husband was very humiliated due to the fact we had to remove him from his chair at the door and carried inside the rom. Other people were around and witnessed this which was upsetting. Now for the room… sheets were dirty with hair strands and I had to flag down housekeeping and ask for clean sheets. Room smelled of mold and had cigarette burns all over the room (supposed to be a non smoking room) loud noise all night it appeared as if people were living there on a regular. I’m not sure how a place like this stays in business and you should be sued for false advertisement due to the website showing a complete different place.
One of the 2 worst places I have ever stayed. I was there about 10 years ago and it was great. The night stand was filthy. And people and 1 wash cloth and I hand towel. I called and asked it be cleaned and no towels ever came. Lowlife people outside let me know it looks like a hooker dive. And nasty… I referred people there a few years ago and it was nice. It has taken a major dive… management needs to be replaced! poor… very despicable/filth. Didn't want to put my feet on the floor and expected bedbugs. Rating does not go low enough.
Hardwood floors looked great would of looked better if they were swept and mopped. Food stuck to floor is not a pleasant sight. I cleaned it up not a problem. There was also a spray in the room that took about 2 hours with the door open and ac on to get rid of the strong smell. Light by bed did not work and plug by sink did not work either. Other than those four complaints it was just fine will be staying there again in January. Room 341 if you want to fix the lamp and plug.
For price, it's good. You get what you pay for which is… Motel 6. It is what it is and it was clean, modern and the coffee was decent and hot. What else could you ask for? Housekeeping staff aren't really snitches and give you hard times, but I do tip them. Sooooo…
The motel was clean and the beds were quite comfortable; however, when my family and I arrived at three o'clock the rooms weren't ready. I called to make a reservation and was told the two rooms would be ready at three. We had to wait almost an hour before it was ready so that we could access the room and eat our lunch we had packed for Disneyland. The receptionist kept telling us neither of the two rooms we had reserved were ready. It wasn't until the housekeeping lady overheard and said she would quickly clean the rooms. We received one and half an hour later the other one. The housekeeping lady was very kind and I am glad she was there to help.
Given that this was a motel 6 and they generally have a lower rating than other hotels, I was both surprised and happy that this place met all my standards. It was clean and comfortable and the service was excellent. Plus the price was better than all the other hotels and motels in the area. I strongly recommend this place and give it all gold stars.
All I can really say is the girl at front desk was nice. Other than that our stay was horrible. Upon arrival to our room, the stench of dog poo lingered. We can smell it from our second floor room. When we booked, nowhere did it state that this was a pet friendly motel. Second, our door did not lock. We were able to open door without using card. Thank goodness our belongings were not stolen. You might want to check that out. Third, we were looking for bed bugs before laying on bed instead we found pubic hair on mattress and we had stained pillow sheets (looked like blood). Oh and someone pounding on our door at 7:30am what not the business. Guess you get what you pay for.
Price was good. Staff very nice and helpful. Chosen because I was traveling with a pet and was able to have at no additional charge. The only complaint was the strong order of mold n mildew. Which I am extremely allergic to. Seem to come from bathroom (even though it was very clean, must be in the walls) and air conditioner. Had to leave bathroom door shut and tried to use conditioner sparingly. Otherwise great stay.
Staff was good until bad. They threatened to call Police when my wife raised her voice in frustration to being locked out of our paid room because the card key went bad. I had to call Corporate to get them to allow my wife into the room they knew my Family was staying in while I was in traffic trying to get back to hotel. My wife tried to have them call me but staff refused to make a phone call. Even after my wife showed her drivers license Showing same last name… I could not believe it. Absurd local staff service. I have stayed at many hotels for work and never have seen such poor customer relations. Be ware.
Recently I went to Motel 6 in Downey, they had flat screen TVs. They were also cleaner and much more presentable. This one seriously needs improvement on like everything. Worst of all I got bit by a somthing, dont know what it was but I do not that is unexceptionable and disgusting. That was quite unbelievable and it let me know how dirty this hotel really is. So yeah I don't know what y'all need to do. Perhaps start with better maintenance.
Run down bed shower. The TV was made back in the early 1990's. It smelled like cigarette's. The air conditioner was not in working condition, Ect. I requested a room closer to the office, downstairs. I told them I am phyically disablabled, and I havent rented a motel/hotel room for many years. The desk clerk Could Not Accommodate Me… Instead she put me upstairs all the way at the end facing Eltorito Rest. Bottom Line is This certain Motel 6 is close to being the Eldorado inn.
I chose the motel as it was only 25-30 minutes from Hollywood. It was also very economical. You get a clean room, clean bathroom and a shower with great water pressure. It's not the kind of motel you stay at if you're planning on being in the room a lot. It's the kind of place you stay at for a comfortable bed, clean room and it's proximity to entertainment that you're going to spend the day at. The staff was accommodating. Just one thing: be careful getting in and out of the tub. The floor of the tub is higher than the bathroom floor so be careful when you step out of the tub onto the floor, the height difference might cause a fall or slip. My only real complaint was the noisy air conditioner. It's the typical motel model. It works fine but it's just a bit noisy is all.
Clean room. Fast check in. Fast check out. Very friendly. Quiet area. Very informative. Decent coffee in lobby every morning.
Hotel was what I expected for the price. Cheep. If you expect to check in at check in time don't bother. The 3 nights I stayed people were waiting to check in 5-6 pm. Still. Reason was check in time not guaranteed only reservation of room for that day after 3. I had a late check in so I didn't have that problem. But, because I had a late check in the didn't want to honor my 3 night res only a single night. Very disappointed in communication between counter. Though I was given my 3 nights after about 30 min at counter. Oh but the next day we went for lunch and keys were cleared and we couldn't get back in room until they could be reset, but after Another 30 min wait at counter. Reason being if you don't use them after a while they reset or cell phone will erase code. Smh. But if not for communication between counter and management I believe it was a decent room for late night stop 1 day max. Mike p.
I stay at this motel 6 about 5 days + a month and I havent had any problems. The rooms are priced affordable and clean and everything has been working fine for me. The office staff which include: Aileen, Maggie, Tammy, Maggie, Mimi, Liz are always friendly and have been very helpful and given me excellent customer service.
Absolutely horrible I walked into my room and after 2 mins started feeling sorry for myself. You hear everything outside your room as if the door and window are open. Zero insulation in your room I just don't get how a room can be that loud! The people that check in there are f-ing creepy! I felt like I was checking in at a halfway house. Needless to say I cancelled my reservation and booked into a Hilton. Life is way to short to drink cheap wine and stay at cheap hotels! Also the parking lot has trash all over it and the steps and walkways are in desperate need of a pressure washing.
This hotel is of the more dirt you can see… is an asquerosida… I never again to enter some of these hotels… There is no free Wi-Fi has the 90s TV and do not clean in the quarterfinals… and they charge expensive night.
I was looking to book a cheap motel for a last-minute Disneyland trip coming from Chula Vista. At first I was hesitant on this motel due to the negative reviews (the shady location), however it had last-minute availability and I managed to book a room for myself and with a military's discount. Plus it's only a 15-minute drive to the park. When I got to the motel and checked in, my room was not only clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and I got plenty of hot water. Shame these rooms don't come equipped with a microwave and fridge. One night I heard yelling outside my room. I was ready to call security should any sort of illegal activity was going on. Thankfully there was none. Overall I had a good and relaxing stay and may be booking again in the near future.
It was fairly clean, and I did appreciate that. My chair was almost broken, so they might want to check on it, and the showerhead is really low. I'm about 5, 5 and it came up to my collar. It wasn't horrible, and you can't beat the price! Good value for what you pay, especially if you're just stopping for a place to sleep and shower like I did.
I just stayed the night I will be checking out Today at noon… The first room we got it was (One bed bug) crawling free in the sheets, when I went down to explain to the lady at the front desk her customer service was ookay, she understood quickly and asked if I wanted another room I said yes only to have checked into another room with roaches … I honestly cant believe they have roaches and bed bugs and charge $83.04 They are very quick to ask for everyone's Cali Id and No guests after 10pm YES there are unwanted Guests Critters after 10pm BED BUGS AND ROACHES … WE SLEPT WITH THE LIGHTS ON.
Always come here with my husky. The girls at the front are always so sweet. Rooms are pretty basic but for the price and being able to bring your dog for free I won't stay anywhere else if I'm in SoCal. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because of some of the customers are a little sketchy but I've never been messed with. So all in all I recommend. Thanks.
Excellent location and price, very clean. Just need some of maintenance in the room who use: a lamp not lit, the refregeracion had damaged the cover grilles and some noise.
It's not a horrible hotel at all I've been to some not so good motels and this one is not at all bad, my stay for two nights was plesant and the staff was very respectful and friendly. As far as the area goes it's convenient for most things you would need while visiting. Everyone keeps to themselves no matter who it is. All we can do is be grateful and thankful to our Lord that they had a room available since everything around the area was sold out. I have nothing but nice things to say about Motel 6.

First I would like to say, Leo the Manager at this location, is one one the best managers that I have come across in my stays at all the hotels I have visited in the last four years on my Tour! His Staff is professional and very personable. I enjoy the way they handle that front desk. The room was clean and of course the maids are great. I will continue to stay this location.
