No one was in the lobby and it took 30 minutes to get checked in. The room was 87 degrees and we could not get anyone from the hotel to answer the phone or come to the lobby to help. The sliding glass door was bolted shut. When we decided to leaving the middle of the night and asked for a refund, they informed Wxpedua that we smoked in the room and left people and excessive trash in the room. We never even got under the covers. They kept my deposit and refused a refund and now refuse to contact me about this problem.

This hotel is a total fraud. I booked a room through Booking. Com and they claimed to not have the reservation when I arrived to check in. After I booked directly through the front desk so that we could get a room, the front desk notified Booking. Com that we had been a “no show” and we were charged for both rooms in full for 16 nights. Now they won’t answer my calls.

It was great that there was a restaurant adjacent to the hotel. Great food and service and they gave a 10% discount if you showed your room key Room was dated, no coffee maker but shower was awesome — hot and good water pressure. Extremely quiet.

Very clean and quiet. Military, traveler and family friendly. Good working air conditioner, refrigerator and microwave. 24 hour security and the desk personal are friendly and helpful. Augustine was professional and welcoming.

We came to stay in Indio for a baseball tournament, our game was late so we knew we just needed a pool for the boys to play and a room to sleep in, as we played early again the next day. Let me start by saying the hotel staff really went above and beyond. Sylvia was so incredibly gracious and offered great service! The man, I didn't get his name, was just as nice! He made sure we had towels for the pool and turned all the pool lights on for us. We are very happy with the service everyone gave. Down to the rooms, they were just rooms, nothing special. Beds were firmer than we prefer, but that can happen at any hotel, shower/bathroom was clean but the shower head just sent a stream out which was a bummer. Overall we had a great stay, the hotel served it's purpose and the staff was really nice!

We stay here every time we are in town good hotel people are friendly and nice I would not stay at another hotel.

Worst hotel I've stayed at in Barcelona. A lot of my friends and I stayed here for our last night before we went home. We studied in Barcelona for 4 months and I had purchase two hotels within that time and this one was ridiculous in my eyes. The front desk service was terrible and the manager was unreasonable and more concerned about her money rather than satisfying the customer. Ruined my last very night in Barcelona possibly ever so thank you Royal Plaza.

Don't you just love it when Front desk is Courteous! Sylvia the Lady at front desk is Great. Rooms were so clean. Beds are comfortable. No smell of Cigarette smoke in my room. Very Quiet. Every one was so accommodating. Restaurants are walking distance. Free Parking. I can't complain.

What an extreme disappointment! This place is run down, in a shady neighborhood. Hard beds with flat pillows. Broken plug ins, plates missing on them. The worse thing is “bed bugs”! Had to go out and purchase bed bug insecticide. No coffee maker, and never any coffee available in lobby. AND where the hell is the advertised steak house adjacent to hotel!? Couldn’t call front desk because phone did not work. You have to be a midget to take a shower. I put down a lot of wasted money for this monstracity! I booked early and they made it Non refundable, or I would’ve left right away! Especially after being covered in bites.

This should be two stars because the hotel is very old and the rooms are definitely below average. However the staff is very friendly so they get a bonus point for this. The neighborhood is spotty and the parking is not exactly secure so if you have a nice car I would suggest parking as close to the front office as possible where the lighting is better and perhaps night staff can keep an eye on it. There are small fridges in the rooms which is good but no coffee maker. Everything is ultra budget so don't expect more than the absolute basics.

If you're just looking for a place the sleep, this place will work. But don't expect anything more than a bed and a flat pillow. I'm not eveb entirely sure my room was even serviced prior to my arrival. There was a used soap bar still in the shower, and half used shampoo and lotion bottle on the sink and food still in the fridge. At least there was one fresh bar of soap still wrapped in the bathroom. The shower head ended up landing about chest height on me and I'm only 5'8". I wouldn't say this is a huge deal, but just something to keep in mind if you're a taller individual. The drawer pulls on the furniture we're broken off, and the light bulb in the lamp next to the bed was blown. I think the worst issue was an electrical outlet that came out of the wall when I was removing my phone charger. Again, if you're just looking for a bed it's alright, but I wouldn't stay again.

Awful hotel! When I first go to check in there is nobody at the front desk for 10 minutes. They sell Wi-Fi as included when this room doesn't actually receive it, you have to go way down the hall to get it. I accidentally spilled my drink on the bed so I pulled all the stuff completely off and placed it by the door, and when I came back they had just put the same wet stained ones back on. The shower curtail would stay up and they left that on the ground, they have a phone in the room but it doesn't work, including even reaching the front desk. I even called 4 times via my cell phone with no answer and it is only 6:30pm.

The maid broke my guitar… When I got home from work, I found my guitar leaning on a completely different wall then the one I'd left it on the night before, facing the complete opposite direction of the way I ALWAYS set my guitar against something… They slammed it against the wall and broke the tuning machine clean off of the headstock… they slammed it against the wall so hard that there is a dent in the wall! when I mentioned it to them, that they had broken my guitar…
they insisted that they didn't break it… calling me a liar, and refused to pay for it.
Also my shower curtain flies all over the place, and doesn't keep any water in the tub… floods the floor every single time… I tried to get them to fix it several times but my cries fell on deaf ears…
Place is a fucking shithole. It's unreal.
Oh yeah, and last year when my work made me stay there, some girl got murdered. So there's that too…

It was a great get away at the Royal Plaza inn. I definitely see myself staying there again. Love the location. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. I had a problem getting in my room the lady at front desk was quick to help fix the key very nice, friendly about it (dont put room key next to cell phone) room was clean very comfortable bed. Great prices!

They ran low on towels so they came into our room while we were gone and took them all and then would not give us any off the cart!

So far the staff are very friendly many of the rooms I have seen at a glance have been updated for the most part it is a motel you cannot expect too much from it and therefore I do not I have no relatively large complaints it's just a good place to put your head down at night.

From the time of arrival which was around 2300, the hotel was very dim and checking in was a hassle. My wife and I waited outside the building for over 5 min ringing the service bell for entrance until we found a side door that led to the lobby. From there, we had to call a number to receive service to be checked-in. The clerk that helped us was not dressed to serve but more like she just woke up. After receiving our key and making our way to our room, we noticed the hallways were very eerie and the carpets looked old and dirty. Our room was very dim since there was only one light, and only 1 out of 2 lamps worked. The sheets had yellow, crusty stains and the pillow cover felt used… not warm, used. After our stay, I informed the front desk about the issues we noticed but received a nonchalant answer of "I'm sorry". Overall, this place is a 2-3 star at best.

It was a nice get away… They have a pool area. There's places near by to go eat (walking distance) the staff was nice. Over all I give this place 8/10

We stay here every year. The staff are exceptionally accommodating and helpful. We appreciate everything they do for Coachella Valley.

Clean rooms. Loved the handicap accesible restroom for my friend. Staff could have done a little better. Had to call front desk twice and finally go to the front myself to get more supplies. Doors slammed all hours of the night. And got woken up at 2 or 3am to see if we needed towels. But other than that it was really nice.

We just wanted a place to stay for the night, nothing fancy. This place is older and a bit run down but it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the water pressure was great. The pool was clean and the staff was very accommodating.

This was a very challenging experience! It was overpriced at 89.00. The room key didn't work had to go back to office to get another key! rooms not clean holes in walls shower curtain was very dirty. Had to go upstairs to get ice had to use room key. And then door would not open. Had to make more trips down to office to get the person to open the door. And him saying "it sticks"… just left and wanted. A receipt… Office not open!

Modest rooms with mini fridge and microwave,, an outdoor pool & a hot tub which was great because I needed it to relax. Stayed on the second floor and the Kidz loved the Balcony. Staff was very accommodating and Silvia the receptionist (not sure of her title) was very attentive as we arrived and left. Thank You for making our stay a pleasant one.

We stayed for 3 days. My wife and I found the King size bed comfortable, the bathroom shower and sink area just what we needed. In an area where 110° is common, the air conditioning made me think we were in Alaska. I would recommend staying at the Royal Plaza Inn. To anyone needing rest and relief from the Indio heat.

It's a very nice and comfortable hotel room. There is a microwave and mini refrigerator as well as a balcony on the second story. The only interaction I've had with them was check in and he was super helpful and polite. Staying here for work in the local area and very happy with it.

I recently stayed at The Plaza this past week for a business trip to the valley, and at first I was hesitant to not be staying at a major chain hotel, but boy was I wrong.
Not only was the hotel really clean and nice, the staff was just incredibly nice to me and my colleagues. One of my colleagues got food poisoning from a nearby Pakistani restaurant we went to, and the concierge sent somebody out to get medicine for her — something I've never experienced with hotel staff be…fore. Overall, loved my stay here and will definitely be coming back in the future.

Just a place to rest your head, internet sucks, not enough towels, old and outdated but was clean and bug free so great if you just passing through.

This is a bare bones hotel. The towels are small and cheap. The shower curtain rod is flimsy and fell on me while I was in the shower. The room walls are so thin that we didn't get any sleep. It's a nice inexpensive hotel but check your expectations a little.

At 9:00 at night no hot water! They said "it had to be reset again" and told us we either had to leave then to get a refund or wait for hot water, and if we chose to wait we will have to pay the 100 bucks no matter what! How the hell is this place still in business? One star is too good of a rating. I work hard for my money. If you do too then skip this place.

ROYAL PALACE is much nicer then I expected. Don't believe in these knucklehead reviews. You can't please people that expect the world. The room is nicer then I expected, staff are very friendly and pool looks great.

I stayed at Royal Plaza Inn last year at the end of April for Stagecoach weekend. The second I purchased my ticket for this years 2016 Stagecoach I called Royal Plaza Inn to book another room because our experience with them last year was amazing. All the workers were extremely nice, helpful and accommodated all the guest there for the Country Music Festival. They even went far enough to offer a taxi service to and from the fair grounds for their guest. Our room was comfortable, clean and we had a great view of the pool area where all the guest that attended the festival hung out during the day. Looking forward to my stay this year! Thank you Royal Plaza Inn team!

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel is great for attending the various music festivals they have at the nearby polo grounds. There is also a Cactus Jack's Bar & Grill located in the same parking, which comes in handy.

Very friendly people working behind the desk. Forgot the guys name but he really gave me a good deal and Sylvia made it a pleasure to check out. Definitely would come back! Big bed, spaced bathroom and with all the necessities.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was dirty starting from the hallway and into the room. There was a very bad smell and the room was old and dirty. Checked out the very next day. It was expensive and not worth it.

Loved our stay! First off, the front desk associate was amazing. She was very friendly and gave us some great suggestions on where to eat. We went next door to the bar and grill. That place was also amazing. Had a very big bed and open spaced bathroom. Did not get bothered by maid service and checked out with no issues. I will definitely return when in Indio, CA.

This place was amazing, The staff was extremely helpful and the room I stayed in was nice, Also the bar was GREAT! When you go try to get Eddy, He'll give you a much lower rate.

Nice cozy rooms closed to shopping centers and restaurants the pool and the hot tub are a great place to spend the afternoons relaxing sylvia the manager is a wonderful person who care to ask how are you doing and see if you need any help she makes sure you get what is need it to make the stay a wonderful stay the cleaning staff claudia, hortencia, connie, and laura make sure the rooms are clean and cozy always thanks to evryone for making my stay a royal plaza inn a wonderful 2 weeks stay.

I stay in this hotel as part of a contingent of Flying Doctors. We go to Indio twice a year and stay in this property. We have always felt the accomodations were good. The place is clean. The personnel is courteous. My TV works perfectly. I believe that cost-conscious travelers will find this hotel more than adequate.
