Convenient location right off of I65. Rooms are clean; breakfast included with a nice variety of breakfast items.

The sheets were torn, the bed squeaked like a sitcom, extremely noisy and the bathroom vent cover was hanging off exposing the duct work and everything crawling through it … but they needed a $30 "pet damage deposit". I'm curious what could be damaged that is not already?

Room smelled, woke up to cockroaches in the room and the lotion they leave had been used and set back up on the counter. Beds were very lumpy and uncomfortable. We were supposed to had a king room but had to give us two queens because ours was not ready at checkin and we were only 15 minutes early checking in. Would not recommend this location at all.

I booked my room right on their website requesting a pet friendly room. You can see on the pictures the rooms are hard floors rather than carpeted. It say “pet friendly“. Upon arrival a $30 surcharge. That’s fine had it been up front. NO WHERE on the website did it mention this surcharge. I find the grassy area is way at the opposite end. I had my own bags, but none available for others apparently because I stepped in poop. The room above was soooo extremely loud I had to call the desk 2 times, ready for the third. I didn’t because it seemed like they got even louder. But my two dogs were very quiet in their beds. No barking, no mess, no problem. The mattress was hard and lumpy. I was miserable in the morning. Clean? Yes — odors? None
It’s a gamble if you stay under a room with hard floors. Just know there’s a fee for dogs under 80# because they don’t advertise it.

Great customer service. Check in was fast and friendly. Needed a first floor room and the manager not only accommodated us but made sure we were close to the breakfast room for the morning. My mom can’t walk too far. We stay here every year as a stopping point to Florida.

This place has bed bugs. When I seen them they didn't seem to care. I got a refund and went to motel 8 clean no bugs there. The bugs were in room 119

Zero stars. NO recommendation. I would rather stay in my car before I would stay there. When I checked in I informed them I had a professional trained service dog. I had to sign document concerning my service dog and myself (illegal document) ;! there would be a $250 possible damage cleaning fee (illegal) ; they put me on a pet room (not allowed by the ADA) ; they were rude when I asked to have the room checked and black lighted before I went into the room; told me they could do …that according to the ADA. I immediately checked out and went on down the road. According to the ADA. Q: Can I charge a maintenance or cleaning fee for customers who bring service animals into my business? A: No. Neither a deposit nor a surcharge may be imposed on an individual with a disability as a condition to allowing a service animal to accompany the individual with a disability, even if deposits are routinely required for pets. This place is breaking the law in many ways. I reported them the Best Western Corp.

The beds we're amazing. The free breakfast was pretty good. The rooms a very large. Everyone was very nice. They had free cable. Over all, I think it was amazing.

Rooms smelled a bit musty and they had a plumbing issue on 7/27/18. My son tried sit in one if the chairs and it was sticky and crusty. Beds where ok they where clean. Breakfast was great my son and I enjoyed it. They are pet friendly that's why we stayed here the holiday inn next door would not allow our dog to stay.

It was a good stay for how cheap it was. Breakfast was good. Biscuits didn't taste like a rock and were fluffy. Pool was clean. Bathrooms were clean.

Got 2 rooms to meet my sister and mother half way. Spent the night used the pool. Pool area is very clean. Rooms were clean and spacious for our one night stay. You can’t beat the convenience of restaurant choices and many were in walking distance. They also gave us discounts to two of them. Breakfast was good and desk clerks were friendly and helpful. I had requested the two rooms be on the bottom floor and next to each other when I reserved the room and they were eager to accommodating me. Overall a great experience and I would recommend this hotel. The price was Very reasonable. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel. Good price on short notice. Fix the shower head: it gradually droops down when in use. Great water pressure!

It was the best deal for that price, and the staff was so incredibly sweet to us. (We were exhausted with the brains to match. ) And breakfast was great!

In process of renovating. Decent motel right off the interstate. Very convenient (walking distance) to Applebee’s and Ruby Tuesday, with additional restaurant and gas selections a short drive away.

Awesome, super clean friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was decent. They were remodeling and they were super cool about it, didn't bother us at all. If we come back this way we will be staying again.

Been staying here several weeks — Monday thru Wednesday night. Rooms are clean but the main reason is the staff. They are courteous and willing to help any way possible. On Mondays when I call for reservation, the phone is answered “ I got you Mr. Wilson “. I always request first floor, around same area and before I call, they already have me reserved. Service with a smile.

This motel did everything right! Their newly remodeled facility was a wonderful surprise for the money. Would we stay here again…? ABSOLUTELY!

Worst location for a best western. Next to applebees. People coming in and out of the restaurant until late, kept me up. Lots of heavy traffic, didn't want to go out after dark. Staff were pleasant, accommodating and helpful. Can I request they work at a better place? Breakfast was what I expected; options, well stocked, kept warm and attention to cleanliness.

This is the hotel where we stay at after coming into town to see extended family and attend funerals. They have treated us right over 6+ stays. Great breakfast bar and clean rooms.

Asked for ground floor king size bed got it. Was right next to lobby and breakfast how convenient. Staff was very nice. Room was very clean had everything we needed.

Stopped staying there about 5 years ago. Had stayed there with my dog on our way to Florida without problem. They had a 25 lb limit on dogs but since I had been staying there for many years they made an exception. My dog was about 40 pounds and very well trained. When I made my plans to return to Indiana I called and made my reservation I reminded them of who I was and mentioned my dog. Desk person said it was no problem that he knew who I was and that the staff loved my dog. When I got there about a week later I was informed that my dog and I would not be allowed to stay there as their pet policy had changed. They had not called me or emailed me they just said that I could stay at another hotel down the highway that took "larger" dogs. As I was leaving I noticed a man walking his dog and then go into his room. The dog was a yellow Lab that appeared to weigh about 60 lbs. I went back in to inquire about the dog and the man at the desk told me that the dog was a "service" dog. I informed him that I knew it was NOT in fact a service dog. The same man had stayed there when I was there a month later and we talked about our dogs. He was simply a family pet. I have never stayed there again, nor will I. With or without my dog. There is a very nice, clean and friendly Sleep Inn just across the highway. I have stayed there every year since.

Really nice up dated rooms beds are ok. If your pulling trailer that everything is locked up there is a nice place to park across the street but if it's moving stuff (household personal) and you want to keep a eye on it parking is limited. Jennifer was really nice and had our room ready when we arrived.

Very friendly staff. Lynn at the front desk was very nice and helpful. I'm in a manual wheelchair and stayed in the accessible room which had enough room to get around the 2 beds and bathroom was plenty big enough. Shower chair did not have a backrest on it would be my only complaint. Other then that it was a pleasant stay.

Got into town at 6am and they let us check In early. We were so thankful to get some sleep after a 14hour drive. We reaally wanted a hotel with a indoor pool but no one else would let us check in early without lots of fees. But when we got here they said we could use the neighboring hotel's pool. So we got a great rate with a pool. And the best service. Thanks so much.

The Best Western in Athens, AL was very accomadting. Room was very clean and everything worked in the room just fine. They have a great continental breakfast in the morning that's complimentary. Overall I would stay they there again.

We stay at this property every year on the way to Florida for the winter. Property has been upgraded over the 9 years we've stayed here. The staff has always been courteous and helpful. The breakfast is adequate. Love the Ruby Tuesday across the street, now with a discount as a hotel guest.

Really nice hotel. Beds are nice and comfortable room are always clean. Breakfast could be a little more diverse but the pancakes are delicious. Laura is a very nice lady and provides great customer service. Defiantly recommend staying here. The price is right.

It was nice, I'm in a wheelchair and they had a really spacious bathroom big enough for me to get around and I could take a shower. The bed was comfy and the pillows were plush. Reasonably priced would definitely stay there again.

My first trip to this location was not the greatest but every subsequent visit has been outstanding. This location has had a lot of updates and the freebies are terrific. Definitely worth the dollar for the location because they have a lot of competition. They stepped up their game and it's worth every dollar.

Our experience at the Best Western Athens AL was very, very good. This is an older property that is in excellent condition. The accommodations are updated and very pleasant. The bathroom was bright and shower head new and fabulous. Breakfast was much better than a normal hotel breakfast. There were healthy choices such as nuts and fruit compote along with all the expected choices. Coffee was so good we asked Greg, the onsite manager, what brand it was. Royal Cup is the brand and we are hooked. Greg, went out of, his way to be kind and he was very knowledgeable. We will definitely stay at this BW on our way to and back from FL every year. All in all… we would rate this is positive 10.

We traveled with our dog and stayed in a pet friendly room. It was clean and smelled good, overall the experience was good. We had 2 queen beds and one was very squeaky every time you moved. We used the other bed. We would stay there again, the staff was very friendly and professional.

We stayed here for one night in September, 2017 on our way home from vacation. This was by far the nicest Best Western hotel we have stayed in. It is just seconds off of I 65, no problem finding it. We had a non smoking king room on the ground floor. Nice shower with shelves and grab bar, clean room, comfortable bed, perfect air conditioner, nice decorating, curtains completely kept out light, it was quiet and even though we were just feet away from the pool, we heard no noise. Everything looked like new. The breakfast had eggs and sausage and all the other usual breakfast foods you get at a free hotel breakfast. They had decent sized coffee cups with nice lids! There is a Ruby Tuesday restaurant within EASY walking distance that gives a 10% discount for BW guests, and a few other restaurants you can drive to. I don't know if every room is as nice as ours but I give our room and the whole hotel experience 5 stars. ***** For a "Budget" hotel this one is top of the line.

I'm giving this place 5 stars! My husband, daughter and I were evacuated there during hurricane Irma. They were very kind and patient with us not matter how many times we called the front desk (And it was something new everyday prob twice a day! ) When we left we had dropped our daughters blanket. My daughter was heart broken! They found it and mailed it back to us! Thank you best western inn! You have a forever customer!

We called ahead to see if we could do a late check in (we didn't arrive until 1:30am) to get some sleep before heading back on the road to Florida. The front desk lady was very friendly & accommodating when we arrived — quick easy check in. The room was very clean, & the bed was comfortable. When we come down again next year we will likely stay here again. :)

I had reservations for this place last week. When I arrived I checked out the room before paying. It smelled so bad and so damp — — can we say mold? I have never seen such a poor design for a bathroom. The shower floor and the rest of the floor are all in one — — no divider, no way to keep the shower water IN the shower. WHAT? NO WAY you can shower w/o it going all over the rest of the floor! And then there is an incline from that floor down to the first part of the bathroom where the sink is, so you must know that water runs onto that part of the floor too. No wonder the damp smell! I've got higher standards than this. The whole area there looks really sketchy. Glad I made the choice to go to another hotel and actually enjoy my stay in Athens.

Rented a room for a homeless relative. Instead of being professional and asking her if she needed a smoking room they rented to her a non smoking. I was NOT in town with her and gave my credit card number over the phone for ONE night. Agreement was that relative was to leave the next morning. I was charged for two nights without consent and charge fee for the smoking in her room. Claiming damage was done to toilet with a cigarette. Yet, was not called or consulted about these additional charges. I disputed with credit card company and GM actually LIED about my being present with relative when renting this room for relative. Again, I live out of state. I truly feel this organization took advantage of my charity toward relative claiming damages I am not aware of nor proven. Actually without my authorization or signature.

Clean rooms. The breakfast this morning was very good and the lady keeping everything going in the breakfast room did an excellent job. The rooms are spacious, nice pool area. Great prices.

It did not disappoint. Rate was really good. Both night and morning desk staff were A+, room was clean, bed was comfy, TV allowed other inputs (HDMI from my laptop) — I like that; a lot of motels disable the HDMI ports. Worst thing I can say about the room was that the bed was a wee bit squeaky. If that's the biggest complaint… ;-) I'd definitely stay here again.

I would not ever stay at this motel. I got on line to pull up motels, the price was $57.00. I called and the guy said they didn't acnolage them. Said for me to go on line and see if I get it for that. He was very rude and disrespectful. I don't recommend them. And he hung up on me.

Certainly not the fanciest of hotels but definitely clean, a great value for the price and the staff was welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I come to Alabama to visit my nephew who is working here in Alabama. I come from Marion VA 6 hours away. From the time I checked in with Craig he was so nice and helpful. Then I need a spoon to stir some dip I bought and I knocked on the door to the breakfast area where 2 very nice gentleman were eating there lunch and let me get a spoon then the next evening I ask if I could get some coffee and they could not have been any nicer to me. Roger and Darius, I work in customer service and you two exemplified customer service at its best! The rooms were very clean everything worked great! Will be staying here again any time I am in the area.

I stay here often and the quality is good and only getting better. The staff here are very helpful and have positive attitudes. I recommend staying here unlike the best western in Huntsville. At least here they don't ignore do not disturb signs.

Very clean, smells great walking into room. Bed comfy, great military rate. Would of had 5 star, but could hear neighbors in next room.

Our son actually reserved and paid for our room. He stayed in a single while we stayed in a double with 2 queens bed. We were attending a graduation ceremony at Athens State on Saturday 8/2/14 for a friend of his. For the most part everything thing was great. Our room was neat and clean, the only thing was the pillows were so fluffy, your head would sink down in it. It took a while for me to go to sleep. Also in the bathroom the toilet seat was slightly loose. We also tried to eat at the breakfast bar. It is small and that makes it hard to see everything, much less try to get anything to eat. By the time we got there just about everything was gone. We got just a little bit. How do you decide how much to prepare? There were a lot of people staying there that night. Those are just two small things. Our stay was good and we would go back again. The staff was excellent, very hospitable and made us feel welcomed.

Rooms not that well maintained. Don't book threw someone else with a lower price than the owner has on the sign he will get mad at you and gripe you out and give you a lecture. Naturally Indian owned so what do you expect they hate doing anything for you.

I would rename this the hairy hotel! I found human hair when I folded my bed back, they did offer too move me at 1:15 in the morning but I decided to sleep on top of the bed! The twenty dollar discount was a joke, at least I can buy gas now to a new hotel.
