Just lacking a few things to get the 5 stars. Breakfast bar wasn’t being run properly to IHG standards. Overall a clean hotel and friendly staff.

They will charge you for a missing pillow when you check out ($25) when you actually leave your pillow. I have called the hotel and left messages for the GM (Tyler Herrera) to call me with no response 4 days later. On the way back home we stopped to pick up our missing pillow and the front desk stated only managers have access to lost and found. (No managers where on duty that day, she stated). I would advised if staying here, to take pictures of all pillows, towels, etc when checking in, so you won't get charged.

Very clean. Room was spacious. Breakfast had a lot of choices and tasted good. Staff was nice and professional.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Athens for one night as we were making our way to Florida. With a 3 and a 4 year old, we like to break up the 10 hour drive. The hotel was exceptionally clean, quiet, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The breakfast offered everything my family normally wants and was restocked quickly when something ran low. Considering we make a yearly trip to Florida, we will definitely be stopping here again.

Would have been nice but when we reserved the room online it showed a picture of the room with a door separating the living area from the bedroom. Turned out that was a stock photo and no door separating them. They were booked up so we couldn't get another room and all hotels in that area were too. Ended up getting a hotel with two rooms a hour away. At least they gave us a full refund and were very nice. Rooms were very clean and new.

"Smoky for a non-smoking hotel. " My room smelled a little smoky when I arrived, but thought I'd tolerate it on Memorial Weekend. I woke up at 5 a. M. To cigarette smell coming through my air conditioner and again at 6 a. M. It was so bad I had to pack up and leave. The only access door on that side of the building was an employee door so obviously an employee smoking on break. All the assistant manager did was give me 4000 points (16, 000 required for one night) and denied anyone would use that door. She said she would email me a free night stay, but that never happened. I pass through Athens several times a year. I will definitely be finding a new hotel for my stops in the future.

Monday's stays are the best. Free beer and snacks from 5-7pm. Enjoyed the service. Clean.

I stayed at Holiday Inn for two separate weeks. On both occasions I was given rooms that were very clean and modern. They contained a fridge, microwave, on the wall thermostat, trim lighting, 45in flat screen, and full size mirror. There is a free breakfast but it is mediocre. Both weeks I stayed the pancake maker was broken. Staff is friendly and helpful. The best part is Monday they have a customer appreciation dinner where there are free drinks and a meal.

Very clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Hot tub was very relaxing. Pool could have been a little warmer. Lots of restaurants near by. Missed Russell Stovers candy shop as it closes at 6 on Sunday.

This was a nice, clean hotel, having a recent makeover. A perfect overnight stay on the road south — simple, clean and convenient. One feature I thought was brilliant was that they offered a limited selection single serving bottles of both beer and wine. Although we didn't take advantage of that, it's nice to see hotels offering this convenience — and something we were to see even more of as we continued southward. And don't forget the free breakfast.

Beautifully updated hotel. The beds are wonderful and everything was very clean. We were traveling through so we were up early to get on the road. The complimentary breakfast was very good.

Clean, easy to find, restaurants near. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is very nice. Breakfast staff checks on your needs as you eat, clear away your plates as needed. Best looking food for a free breakfast.

Warm, friendly staff when we arrived and checked in after a very long day. Room clean, neat, welcoming. PILLOWS ARE AMAZING! I want to buy some! Morning staff also warm and friendly. This may be anew stopping point for our frequent trips to FL. Breakfast very good. I didn't get pancakes because I overslept, which I blame on the amazing pillows! :)

Rooms were nice. No water in the morning due to a broken water main. Decent breakfast. Would recommend.

We had had a horrible week of family illness subsequent death lots and lots of drama and stress very little sleep stopped here halfway to our destination. Slept like a baby. Staff was amazingly cheerful. Bedding and rooms clean comfortable amazing. Woke up feeling like a whole new person. Would have loved to have stayed for a full week of rejuvenation.

Nice place, but I burnt my finger trying to get breakfast food when there were no serving tongs available. There was no clerk around to ask for help. When I found a clerk and told her, she said nothing but did put out serving tongs.

Very clean, the staff is very polite and very helpful. Comfortable beds. Only downfall in my opinion was location, difficult to get to at certain times of day due to heavy traffic trying to turn to road leading to hotel.

Great room. Great front desk service. Breakfast was really good, especially the locally made cinnamon rolls.

Room was clean and comfortable. We were able to get adjoining rooms with the rest of our group. Amenities were available, though I didn't get to take advantage during such a short stay. Hot breakfast was wonderful and had a lot of options for different tastes. Hotel is also located near numerous restaurants.

The manager, owner at this location, either Taylor or Tyler, is very rude to guest and employees. The friends I roomed with and I overheard him making fun of customers on our first day, and the next morning heard him being very ugly to a front desk employee. He seems very short tempered with a dirty mouth, has very poor relation and leadership skills, and an obviously poor attitude. We will not come back to this hotel, simply because of this person. Not to mention the employees smoke right in front of the building.

The hotel was close to the highway and to several restaurants. The rooms were nice and the service was excellent! 10/10. Would stay there again.

Everything is updated and clean. The indoor pool was ice cold & the hot tub was over chlorinated. The staff were friendly and efficient. Had a great night's sleep. No gluten free options for breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

I thought the place was brand new. But I was told it was 11years old. Renovation was very impressive. No evidence of anything old. Really done the right way. Would definitely come back, and would highly recommend it to others.

Absolutely wonderful. We stayed for a night on our way to Nashville. The staff is super friendly and so nice. It's clean and comfortable and has a yummy breakfast bar. Sheila in the breakfast area was so great and patient. She was so helpful and wonderful with my kids. We would most definitely stay again.

The hotel lobby and dining room was very clean and welcoming. The coffee was fantastic.

From check in to check out, the staff was more than helpful and kind. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. Rosalee at the front desk helped us find food delivery and Miss Judy who prepared breakfast offered to pack us a to go bag as we were leaving shortly before breakfast service began. We stayed on our way to and from our Gulf vacation. This is now our future stopover hotel for all beach vacations.

This hotel was great. The room was nice and clean and the free breakfast was great. I'm glad I paid more money for this hotel. One of the best hotels I've been in.
