Great hotel clean, well maintained and even though it seems older rooms are modern and feel newer, also a great price just as nice as the much more expensive hotels down the road very happy!

Room smelled like weed. Was put into another room. Opened the closet for that new room and saw a roach scatter into the walls. Desk was rude and wouldn't refund because we booked through hotwire. Which I understand but at least be sympathetic… Terrible, awful experience. Went down the street to Sleep Inn for the same price.

My stay with Quality Inn was everything I wanted, and more. Friendly staff, extremely clean and comfortable room. The price was more than reasonable, plus it was located around loads of amenities. Over all I will be sure to recommend Quality Inn of Athens to anyone I know that is planning a trip into Athens.

Jeannie at the front desk was nice and gave me tips on local restaurants. Room nicely updated and everything looks new. Great price and a very comfortable king size bed. Front lobby looks great.

Extremely convenient location off I-65. Lots of choices for food within walking distance. Clean room, however, it could have used a little extra TLC (handprints on wall from recent maintenance/remodel) Friendly staff. Nice pool.

The room was decent in appearance. Unfortunately it smelled horribly of stale smoke, it was over powering. We even saw the cleaning service smoking as they were cleaning the rooms. The lobby was nice and the breakfast was okay… Although, they were not very good at cleaning up and the trash cans were over flowing and the person who was in charge of the breakfast area did nothing about it… he even just walked in the milk that was spilling out of the over flowing trash.

We stayed June 23, 2018 to June 24, 2018. The rooms were clean, the pool was great for our grandsons to relieve traveling energy. Beds were comfortable and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was delicious!.

My family booked a room here while traveling to the beach. The building is under construction, but no work was being done while we slept! Housekeeping were outside constantly sweeping and cleaning to keep the construction mess out of the way of guests. The woman at the check-in desk was extremely nice and helpful. The room was newly painted and was very nice. The price of the room was well worth the stay. The room was clean, no bugs, no problems at all! They are working very hard to make this Quality Inn a nice place to stay!

After reading reviews, I was somewhat skeptical but booked a room anyway. The motel was in the middle of a remodel of exterior. The room we we given was updated, clean, and bed appeared to be a new pillow top. The lobby and breakfast area was clean and offered a variety of breakfast choices. When I return to Athen AL, I will definitely book there again.

Quality Inn in Athens had a great location close to many dining places. Remodeled rooms with great beds great bathrooms and extremely clean.

Great value — prices comparable to a much lower rate hotel! The breakfast spread was definitely impressive. I don't usually eat breakfast, but went back and filled up a plate after visiting the buffet to get my daughter something to eat. The only reasons I didn't give five stars — 1) I have never stayed in a hotel that I felt the bathroom was clean enough. And the first time I do will be the first time I give any hotel a 5 star rating. 2) The building was undergoing a facelift and the painters had failed to put a wet paint sign on the door (almost a disaster since we were in town for my daughter's senior prom and used the room to get her ready). 3) Very minimal sound proofing! If I stay there again — I will ask for a room on the north side (away from the highway) and check the weather — stripping around the door. 4) The room darkening curtains are a facade, as they do not close — only decorative.

Nice hotel. Surprisingly quiet being located less than 100 yards from an interstate. Excellent free breakfast! I highly recommend.

Chose this hotel because of the great reviews. They didn’t disappoint. The room is clean and newly remodeled. I would definitely stay here again.

Room was clean, housekeeping is very good, beds are VERY comfortable and pillows are just right! Just one thing I think should be done is, carpet needs to be cleaned, my socks got dirty from walking on it! If not for that I would have given (5) stars.

Room very clean, convenient parking. Close to restaurants. After 8 hours traveling the Alabama welcome center was helpful with this exit. Very pleased.

Fresh paint, new bedding, fresh towels, clean room, breakfast area clean and organized. Only area I see for improvement is pressure wash walkway and upkeep on stairs.

Sorry to those who had a bad experience however our experience was totally different. As a Florida evacuees, we and our pets who aren't normally allowed here were welcomed with no problem. Everyone was friendly and the rooms are reasonable and clean. The whole staff has been friendly and as a matter of fact our air conditioner went out and it was checked out and then replaced within the hour of notification. They are currently going through a remodel which could explain some of the other complaints. Another great thing about this place is it's just off of the interstate and has everything you could think of within a short distance. I still rate this place a 5.

I went through literally the worst hotel experience I've ever had at Quality Inn in Athens, AL. I never thought that this level of uncaring could be allowed in hospitality, but Quality Inn defied all expectations there. Roaches were the very least of the issues. My girlfriend and I had to evacuate from Savannah GA in the path of Hurricane Irma. I made reservations at Quality Inn at 6 PM — I paid in advance over the phone, and was given a confirmation number from the clerk at the hotel. We then drove all evening and through the night, and arrived at Quality Inn at 4:45 AM the next morning. I went in first, and asked for the reservation — tired, but politely. The clerk in front, Vedetta, couldn't find out reservation for 20 minutes. The whole time she was searching, she was muttering to herself about how much she had left to do apart from helping me. Frustrating, but no major issue. I told my girlfriend to rest in the car while I waited. She finally called her manager, who had to walk Vedetta how to use the system and print out my reservation, as Vedetta didn't seem to know how. After 30 minutes, she finally handed me my key. Instead of apologizing for the wait, she was quick to remind me that checkout was at 11 AM. I thanked her, a little frustrated at this point, took the key and left for my room. I found my room, opened the door, and immediately noticed a dark spot on the bed. When I walked towards it, it crawled away, as did another spot on the floor. Both cockroaches.

Been driving all day and night for this evacaution from Hurricane Irma, so I'm very much ready for some sleep. Go to check in: woman at front desk is absolutely incompetent. Takes 40 minutes for check in. We walk into room to find a handful of cockroaches lying on the bed. We decide that sleeping in the car is better than getting nasty diseases, so we head to front office for refund. Same jerk in front office refuses to give refund. Ladidah. There goes a big portion we had left to get through this evacaution. Don't ever use this place.

The lobby was beautiful. The room, not so much. The door and the wall beside the door needed to be painted. There was a hole in the wall where the doorknob had hit it. There was a snag in the carpet. The book looked great, but it was not comfortable. The towel hooks in the bathroom, were coming off the wall, and the tub needed to be resurfaced.

Injoyed my stay. Nice and clean. Night clerk lady. Very nice. And I will go there again. Price was great. Like a clean hotel.

Clean, comfortable, reasonable rates, safe place to take the family. Laundry (only a dollar to wash and a dollar to dry). A nice clean swimming pool. Can safely walk next door for Waffle House next to that a convenient store. Next to that McDonald's. Across the street is a Cracker Barrel and a Bar B Q Place. Next to that is Race Track. So in general this is a nice clean well lighted area that dosent have the questionable character's to worry about. I highly recommend this!

The stay was regular but seems to have been some drawbacks to temporary that you have had. Had No soap in the rooms and the air conditioning was dripping on the carpet. Apart from that, all was well.

Good peaceful stay. The breakfast was pretty good. Is it luxury, no? But then you didn't pay for luxury. But you're definitely getting more than what you pay. My girlfriend enjoyed her stay and had no complaints.

The Quality Inn at Athens is a great choice for the tired traveler. This is my second time staying here. The rooms are clean. They have updated the lobby. The prices are fair. It's not a luxury hotel but it's a great choice where price meets quality. Get to breakfast earlier than later to ensure everything is still available.

Ok place to stay for one night. Room was comfortable, if small. We had ants in the room, but everything worked ok. Breakfast was very good, particularly the biscuits and gravy. They messed up our bill, but were glad to fix it. We only waited a short while for that. Sheets seemed clean and nice. The hotel needs some remodeling — it's getting pretty old in places. Overall, an ok place to stay.

Stayed one night to break up driving. Decent for sleeping, good choices for breakfast. Only complaint: called to report left behind pillow within 30 minutes of checking out asking to pick it up on my way back through the area two days later. Assured by desk clerk that they would hold in lost and found once housekeeping went in to clean. When I returned to retrieve the pillow it was nowhere to be found. Was there a breakdown in communication and follow-through in the interest of customer service? Was housekeeping dishonest? It's too bad that you can't depend on integrity and character in the customer-service relationship any longer.

We've used this hotel a few times on an annual road trip. I've stayed in 1-3 star hotels that charge a lot more and deliver a lot less or were just gross and smokey. This is a convenient location for us on our trip, the beds are comfortable (for the price/hotel category), and we haven't had any major issues. This time, we arrived to check in and there was a long line in the lobby with no one present at the desk. The employee returned a minute or two later (which feels like a long time after 13 hours on the road) and all the people ahead of us in line left because there was no vacancy. Check in was quick. We had reserved three rooms and were able to have them charged on three different cards. Two were fine, but the keycards for the third wouldn't open the door. The employee tried a new set but those didn't work either. It appeared that the actual locking mechanism on the door was malfunctioning, so not his fault. We were moved to a different room and he carried some of the luggage. The problem was we had 4 people and paid for a 2 bed, but the new room was a King bed and a couch. Two offered to sleep on the couch but another person in our party talked to the employee and they were moved into a fourth room free of charge. It took a while to get everyone settled, but in the end everyone had a bed. Our room was as expected.

Stayed a total of 3 hours. They were a pretty good 3 hours!

Rooms are what I expect with quality inn. However, no Wi-Fi. Well at least in the part of the hotel I am in. Tried moving to another area and same result. Router in these areas aren't working. No idea when they will be able to get a technician to repair. I paid for 6 night stay, been here two nights already. They suggested that I come to the lobby if I need to use Internet. At $80 plus a night I think not. I'll be checking out in the morning.

Dirty! Very filthy… socks were black! Very chinzy on the shampoo. Bed bugs!

I travel for work. When I am away from my hotel room, I do not want anyone in my room so I always put out the Do Not Disturb sign. On my first day after coming back from work. I decided to go to the pool. I came inside to get a drink and to use the bathroom and almost fell on the tile floor. That's when I realized that the bath mats that I had on the floor were gone as well as the towels I left hanging across the shower rod. She never bothered to leave me any clean towels…, nor did she make my bed, clean my toilet or take out my trash. So why did she come into my room disregarding my Do Not Disturb sign? My company rents these rooms for us and my only hope is that we never have to use this hotel again. Furthermore, had I fallen and hurt myself, you can bet that there would be a lawsuit filed against your company. DO NOT DISTURB means just that. And it would be to your advantage to train your employees to respect the guests wishes.

Very quiet close to restaurants and. Gas station. Driver friendly with laundry on site. Loads of hot water for showers. Quiet pool area in the back. Staff is very friendly and commuter conscious. The charge u book at is what u pay (not the bait n switch the other motel in area tried on pricing) microwave n fridge in room nice.

The rooms here were clean and the staff was great. Very quite to be close to the interstate. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks for a comfort stay while my home was fixed and ready.

Excellent place to stay. Convenient to numerous restaurants, gas stations and shopping. Quiet location and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Will stay there again on return trip from Gulf Shores, Al next year. Have always been pleased.
