I've stayed in posh hotels before but the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern was a cut above. As soon as we arrived we were upgraded which was a nice surprise.
The staff couldn't do enough for us, we found the room slightly warm so they gave us a fan because if you have the windows open at night, particularly the weekend, it can be a little bit noisy.
The room was wonderful and spotlessly clean. The breakfast and dining area was amazing. The spa was delightful. All in all a tremendous hotel I would definitely recommend and would love to return one day to do it all again!

The rooms are so spacious and clean! Very convenient, right next to the train station. Bern is relatively small, but the hotel is right on the major shopping street and also right next to old city.

Great hotel, in a fantastic part of Bern with incredibly friendly and helpful people. Arrived a bit early and we were able to get a map and explore after checking in and enjoying the great room. Ate at the terrace upstairs and what a fun experience. BBQ at your table with fabulous views of the city and mountains. Staff was extremely polite and accommodating. Will stay there again.

The Sky Terrace is easily one of the best dining experiences I've had. Not only was the atmosphere beautiful and exciting but the food was absolutely delightful. Many restaurants in Bern are alike, Sky Terrace is fun! I ordered the beef, they brought a portable grill and placed it on the table. It was a very enjoyable experience. The staff is kind and accommodating, the cocktails are delicious, and the view was to die for. If you are capable of experiencing happiness, the Sky Terrace is for you. 11/10!

The hotel staff cared for but did not overdo it. We are both comfortable and impressed.
A majestic and modern place.
The hotel's brewery is superb and the service is similar. Our server was really perfection embodied. Attentive without being intrusive, listening but also very good advice.
Finally, a passage to the basement for a moment of relaxation and calm in the spa. Don't forget if the weather allows it to pass to the rooftop for an aperitif with a view of the federal palace and the whole city.

A huge disappointment! I was already a few times with my family or with friends, in the Schweizerhof, and we were always very excited, but we were disappointed the last Time excessive! When we wanted to go in the Schweizerhof, the porter my friends and me don't let them in! The reason was not mentioned to us though! (There was no occasion! ) We were treated as if we were Dirt! For me the case is clear, NEVER again! PS: We go to the Bellvue, which I highly recommend! There, you will not be simply rejected without reason!

This place is amazing. Tons of little touches that made our stay quite lovely — we were traveling with our 5 month old daughter and one evening, they knocked on our door to present us with a children's bath kit for her. We enjoyed our time there very much, true luxury.

On their "Sky terrace" we waited a 15min for service… While the gentleman was served at the next table after 3min. I think this is scandalous for a 5 star house. You have to boykotieren such an address!

Excellent service, nice place, not too noisy. Close to the train station. Ideal for a small aperitif before taking the train, or taking your time to enjoy one of the many appetizers.

It's not so common for me to give 5 stars, but in this case I really found this hotel excellent; kindness and professionality of people who works there are really impressive; congratulations to all who works in this hotel and to whom selects and trains staff. I strongly reccomend this hotel.

The food was good but not excellent, price performance is not the same. Several faux pas, Heinz mayonnaise and ketchup! Salad and amuse Bouche were vigorously salted. A meal was forgotten, the fish was not cooked. Again and again, mineral water was refilled and wine glasses were simply cleared. And at the end we had a wine on the bill for 155. — which we had neither consumed nor ordered. No excuses or free coffee for these shortcomings. There are definitely better places in this price segment!

Pretty average for a 5 star hotel.

We were looking forward to a leisurely afternoon with afternoon tea. However, the afternoon was neither cozy nor was the afternoon tea particularly good or British. We did not get the tea until after 30 minutes and then we waited again 20min. Until the rest was served. All this without the info of the staff. When we ordered tea again, it only came after almost 20min and still with too little tea water. Although a reservation is obligatory, the service was extremely chaotic and the lack of interest of the service staff was annoying. The food could then also not influence the overall impression to the positive. (Too sweet) We cannot recommend the afternoon tea at the Schweizerhof, so save your money and go somewhere else. It was disappointing!

Historical monument very chic rustic Hotel frequented by an affluent clientele large dining room refined cuisine located in the center of Bern not too far from the train station.

I only looked for one breakfast, on 2.2, 2017. At first I was overlooked for 15 minutes, then I was told, bernozzle, about breakfast. I didn't get it, and the serving force repeated it exactly the same. Then she forgot about my café and brought a number of jams, there was already an hour around … the 25, — breakfast is just very barren, without the jams, but I hadn't understood the offer, and in the PDF on the homepage I wouldn't have understood it either …

Not only recommended as a hotel but also as a café/bar. In addition to the Lobby Lounge on the ground floor, the sky Terrace on the rooftop terrace is open in the afternoon in good weather. It offers a breathtaking view of the city and the Alpine chain. A must! But beware, often the local packed and they leave no more guests in.
Only drawback: the service and the expensive prices. Unfortunately, the service for a 5-star hotel is not what you might expect. Neither courteous nor attentive. Unfortunately, we are meeting the same situation again and again. It's not an isolated case. What a pity.

Love this place! Staff treats you like royalty. Rooms have been modernized and shower is amazing. Plus the terrace is a great way to see Bern 360 degrees.

Our room was very nice, Bvlgari products in the bathroom, roof top bar offers views of the city and of the Alps, as long as they decide to open it. The service was good, but not in the top tier of other hotels in Switzerland. Skip the breakfast in Jack's, I found it significantly lacking, only yogurt, juice and bread were available without ordering from the menu.

Fabulous wedding celebration at the Schweizerhof The decision to celebrate at this luxurious hotel proved to be the right one in so many ways: They made us an unbeatable offer and their specialized event-management team completely satisfied our needs. They organized everything for us and even implemented last minute changes in no time. Their in-house florist beautifully decorated the ballroom according to our ideas. The media-specialist provided flawless beamers, screens, microphones and loudspeakers. The cook proved to all our guests what it means to be a chef. Everyone loved the delicious food and the skilled waiters managed to serve and fill up our glasses without us noticing that they were even there. On the SKY Terrace, our guests could get some fresh air between the courses and enjoy the starry sky and the view over peaceful Berne. The breakfast (in-room) on the next morning was again delicious. You can assort your breakfast from a large variety food and beverages, all freshly made. Unlike many five star hotels, the staff in the Schweizerhof is not snobbish but a lot like Berne itself: known for its downright sociability & helpfulness and always provides an outstanding service. The suite is modern but still classy, very clean and offers a lot of space. The same can be said about the Spa. We especially liked the experimental showers and the hammam with the refreshing menthol perfume.

Wonderful hotel in central Bern. Lovely rooms with very attentive staff, with many little amenities for the kids. Rooms are high quality and very comfortable. Wish the breakfast was included because food options nearby aren't great for breakfast but otherwise great experience here.

Really nice place. Luxurious rooms, and totally cool staff. It was surprise for me that people can use their toilette which is on the 1st floor without any asking to do it! In some other hotels this level in some other countries you can't even imagine this!

Ask for the roof terrace and there high up above the roofs of Bern can enjoy the incredible views of the Alps and to SIP a great cocktail. It doesn't get any better.

The proud Schweizerhof is right at the train station. It does not get more much Central. Rebuilt a few years ago, he shines in new splendour. The 5 stars have earned the operators as also the No 1 on TripAdvisor. Service is written in very big here. I particularly like that here many people are hired, Bern German speaking. For me personally, this is a very important factor, especially in a city hotel. The Schweizerhof Hotel invites you to linger, whether in the beautiful lobby / bar, which is one of my favorite places to be in Bern. Close to the train station, there are only a few places where you can even relax in a quieter atmosphere. Or in the Spa, which is located in the basement. The rooms are decorated exactly to my taste: pleasantly luxurious, but not overloaded, such as the partial in 5 star hotels is the case. In the morning, you will be sent with a rich breakfast in the day.

The Sky Terrace bar perches atop the Schweizerhof Bern with delightful 360-degree views over the city’s Unesco World Heritage old town. It’s a swanky affair, with wooden decking, rattan chairs and conical potted shrubs. The menu’s light summer dishes are Orient-inspired – think mezze delights such as tabbouleh, hummous and kofta kebab – while soft lounge music creates a relaxing ambience in which to sit back and enjoy creative cocktails. It’s an experience to make you feel like royalty.

I've never been in a hotel with bathrooms as beautiful designs as those. Breakfast is served to the table rather than having a buffet, that's a nice change.

I liked that the service employees, which 10 minutes earlier had served our coffee, located in our Lamborghini, while we were waiting on our car!
The reason was, because you 15: 00 had to introduce the staff to 20 on Sunday! And it's called Schweizerhof 5 *! When we talked to the Concierge, he said still so fresh, that the waitress did not know where to find the parking for the car. Of course you had to demonstrate that her on the evening of Sunday 20th 3: 00 with a Lamborghini!
