We loved the place.
Pros:
Friendly, accomodating and helpful staff. One morning we asked for an early breakfast and extra blankets.
Great view on the bridge.
Breakfast to your private balcony.
Can get to the bridge buy walk, there is a short cut. You will see the sign.
Provided a discount.
Tuk tuk in a hotel, can text thw driver to get you in and out of town. Cheaper than you will get tuk tuk from town.
Cons.
Was a construction or renovation happening when we were there, one day at 7pm someone was still banging the hammer.
Yes, no air con, but they do have a standing fan.
Yes, the water gets heated up longer, but it is okay.
But, lovely people, so — come and stay.

Pros:
Staff are very friendly, location is close to the nine arch bridge and views are gorgeous, the place is 10 mins tuk tuk ride from the city center. The property can arrange for your luggage pick up and drop off to the main street, and they have the friendliest dog.
Cons:
To get to the place is a hill walk and the Rooms lack air conditioning.
Water pressure is not the best and water takes time to get hot.

We were two couples that stayed in the king double room. The view to the nine arch bridge and the entire valley was amazing.
The size of the room was good and the bed was comfortable, but the water pressure in the shower was very poor. Also, the breakfast wasn’t the best we had. The family has the cutest Labrador dog called Nico, really enjoyed playing with him.

The location was fabulous, overlooking the nine arch bridge, saw plenty of trains passing through with people hanging out of the doorways. Service was great & breakfast served on the balcony was delicious. Room was clean & comfortable, my only criticism was the fan for the room was on a 60 minute timer, I woke a couple of times warm & had to restart the fan. Easy fix.

Nine Arch gap was the perfect 3 night stay in Ella. This was more of a personalised home stay rather than a big chain hotel, great personalised feel. Staff delivered breakfast to our balcony every morning at our preferred time. The room although a bit small was clean and had everything we needed. We came for the view and to feel like we were on top of the world and the view didn’t disappoint. Tuk Tuk is a short ride to town for a small fee. They can also arrange this for you.
No TV in the room but with a view like that it wasn’t required.
The best bit about this place is Nikki, the owner’s beautiful golden Labrador! He made us feel at home.

Best spot for train views and peaceful vibes!
If you’re visiting Ella, staying at Nine Arch Gap is a must. The location is unreal — just a short walk to the bridge, and you can actually hear the train approaching from your room. It’s such a cool experience, especially if you’re into photography or just want a unique view.
The vibe here is super chill. It’s quiet, surrounded by jungle, and perfect if you want to escape the noise and relax. The hosts were kind, respectful, and always ready to help without being intrusive.
Breakfast was served right on the terrace with the forest all around — fresh fruit, warm tea, and homemade food made with love.
Perfect place to slow down, take in the view, and enjoy Ella at your own pace.

Staying at Nine Arch Gap was one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka! The location is unbeatable — just steps away from the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, with breathtaking views right from the property.
The rooms were clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, always going out of their way to make us feel at home. We especially loved the delicious homemade breakfast every morning with fresh fruit and local dishes.
Waking up to the sound of nature and watching the trains pass by the bridge was pure magic. If you’re visiting Ella, don’t think twice — this is the perfect place to stay. We’ll definitely come back!

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The views were truly beautiful, and the owner was incredibly kind and hospitable. She helped us with any questions or issues we had during our stay, always with a smile. We really enjoyed our time here and are very grateful to her for her warmth and care.

"9 Arch Gap" was a peaceful and lovely location. I visited there for the first time last month. Excellent service. In addition to the food being delicious, the room was really comfy. We stayed here for 2 nights, we shortened our stay to add on the national park last minute. We were here on our honeymoon and they decorated the room for us! The view was amazing we had the view of the bridge and it was a 10 minute walk to the bridge — made for lovely photos. They had a tuk tuk which was cheaper that local ones, and we did a tea plantation tour. Bathroom was basic with a good shower and very clean (could have more soap/ showergel), but the bedroom was comfortable with a kettle fridge etc. Breakfast had an egg and local option with some fruit & juice (fresh). Their dog was lovely and playful. As we did one less day they gave us a refund for breakfast which was kind of them.

Our friends recommended this small hotel outside Ella, on a hilltop, and I´m glad we booked it! We stayed in one of the newer rooms but I think the view is just as amazing from all the rooms. Very close to Nine Arch Bridge, we could both see and hear the trains down in the valley, right in front of us. A little walk down to the bridge, easy downhill and a a little bit more struggle up again… Little Adam´s Peak also close to hotel. We ended up walking to Ella for both luch and dinner but tuktuks are easy to find by the main road. Breakfast served on your own balcony with this incredible view is something I´ll never forget!
The room can get a bit chilly at night, not really a problem if you come prepared with a sweater and socks.

We stayed at Nine Arch Gap for 3 nights in January for our honeymoon. The location and particularly the views are incredible. With a clear view of Njne Arch Bridge from our balcony. The rooms themselves are very spacious and clean. Breakfast is served to your room each day, so you can sit on the balcony and take in the gorgeous view. The service on that front was also amazing. Staff are just next level. Our only feedback — and I don’t think this is on the hotel, more the area — is that the rooms can get a little damp. Again we spoke to a few people staying in other places in Ella and this seemed to be similar feedback. So bear in mind you might find toy clothes and room a little damp, depending on time of year. This didn’t take anything away from our stay and we’d happily choose this hotel again.

We had two nights in this charming family run hotel. Our room had floor to ceiling glass windows looking out to the valley and the Nine Arch bridge below. It was very magical having our breakfast in the clouds in the morning and watching the train cross the bridge before the crowds arrived.
The staff were extremely helpful and took us down to the town on their tuktuk when we needed. We especially loved their family dog, Nikki 😁

This was an absolutely amazing stay. Our tour guide Ranjith at Travo Lanka booked this for us. The cabin is beautiful, very clean, has a stocked mini bar and an incredible view. Indrani made us breakfast every morning and it was spectacular! The best breakfast we have had — such good food — she was so helpful and always checked we had everything we needed. Her husband Sanjeewa was very helpful with his Tuk tuk and collected us with our bags and dropped us to town when needed. Great location — 15 minute walk from 9 arch bridge, great views, 20 minute walk to the main town. Perfect stay and would highly recommend.

My girlfriend and I had a great experience at the Nine Arch Gap hotel. The view was breathtaking, the hosts were very friendly and always helpful. We were receiving our breakfast at the balcony and we could enjoy the beautiful view. Overall an awesome experience and looking forward to coming back there.

The view is everything! So relaxing. Laying on the bed and just staring at the balcony all day long.
Room was clean just like the pictures. The only thing I would say is that the because of the shower, the bathroom was always wet. The staff were lovely. Helped us with everything.
We paid for breakfast as well and would definitely recommend! Eating in front of this view was a great start of the day.
Location wise there is a little distance to the main road, it’s a five minute walk, but to get back to the hotel it’s up a hill so if you rather you can get a Tuk Tuk. But also not that far from the city, 4 minutes drive.
Also the place is ten minutes walk to the famous train tracks. And you can see them a little from the balcony.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Sri Lanka. The view from my room was stunning, and I spent a whole day just enjoying it.
The room was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served on the balcony, which made it even better with such a beautiful view.
There’s no AC, but it gets cool at night—so cool that I needed a sweatshirt!
I highly recommend this hotel for a great experience in Sri Lanka.
