Fabulous place to stay longer than just a night. Great service, excellent location in front of the sea. Peaceful and very tasty food. Breakfast and dinner are excellent, homemade and served with kindness.

Superb location at the edge of the ocean with hosts lovely and welcoming. One feels at home. I highly recommend it!

Great place to stay! I stayed in one of the second-floor balcony rooms. The room itself had AC, which was nice. Once challenge was that you had to go downstairs to use the bathroom (shower, etc). Also, the downstairs bathrooms didn't have water heaters. It wasn't really a problem, as the water was always fairly warm, but still. Also, the downstairs bathrooms had little ventilation, so they were always a bit stuffy. Kadira is AMAZING, and if they every lose him, I think their ratings may be affected, because he is so helpful and customer friendly. I used the scooter for a couple days, which was a nice break from diving, and allowed be to explore a bit. On the occasions when I needed a tuktuk, Kadira was always on hand to arrange one. Transportation from and to the Trincomallee airport at China Bay is also available.

Wonderful place at a wonderful location.
It is very close to the city center. Delicious restaurants not far.
The beach in front is almost empty all the time. Fishermen in the morning, and to the right (where the rocks), it is a snorkeling paradise.
The rooms are clean and excellent.

My husband, myself & our family were blessed to have the privilege of staying at Dyke Rest for 3 wonderful stress free days/nights. The staff are all lovely, The manager Kradin is great, he never stops from, 5.30am till well into the night. He cannot do enough to help all his guest's & give them a unique opportunity to enjoy their stay & enjoy 'Trincomali Sri-Lanka' itselfs. The Guest house is spotless, the food is wonderful. They keep their part of the beach clean everyday. Very friendly atmosphere, we would highly recommend it to anyone.

Kadira ans staff was excelent hotel mamagment should apecially thank them if not for them ita just an ordinary hotel, need some renovations things are in need of little maintance.

A great welcome the boss is the nicest and most helpful Sri Lankans in the country. Two meters from the beach very clean superb.

This place was right ON the beach. They have two balcony rooms that are great. Host is awesome and really accommodating! I also met several other travelers that were great.

Excellent location. Close to the sea. Quiet place.

This place is by far the best. Absolutely brillaint. You open the back door to a beautiful beach. In the night the owner will help you set up a fire. Play some music and soack in the fresh air.

Very good service. Very good food. Kadira, the man friday will help you with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Back-packers love the place. The beach is also not too crowded compared to other parts of the bay. Many small guest houses in the vicinity and few restaurants. Lovely views.

Very friendly owner and directly at the Beach. Nice to relax or to go for a snorkeling tour. Very cozy and charming place. If we come back to Trincomalee we will stay again in Dyke Rest.

We loved this place, just dropped in for refreshments after snorkelling in Dutch Bay. The manager was the friendliest guy and the ladies in the kitchen made amazing food… we went back 3 days in a row. Beautiful beach outlook and charming service.

This guest house is a gem — right on the beach and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately the guesthouse was full so we couldn't stay here. We did however have one brunch and another breakfast.
We were in a real rush for breakfast — we had been dolphin watching and then had a bus to catch. We explained this and our breakfast came almost immediately. Very tasty and excellent value.

Best in the area. Nice place. The guy looking after the place is Morgan. He is very helpful and friendly. Been there more than dozen times.

Great staff but rooms are not so clean, the breakfast is just correct. The location is not very good, in a kind of scary neighborhood. We got way better guesthouses for half the price in other places in Sri Lanka ($55 a night). We recommend to go to Uppuveli instead of here.
