Review of Las Gaviotas Suites Hotel & Spa 4*

We have stayed 1 week in Las Gaviotas and overall we have thoroughly enjoyed the stay, the hotel is very nice, close to the beach and amenities in Playa de Muro. The suite was big enough for us (2 adults and 2 children). Hotel has several pools, we spent most of the time in the big family one, we have been there mostly in the evening, but it was never very busy, we had enough space to enjoy the time in the pool and to get sun loungers. We have used several time the gym, fairly small with one bike, one stepper and one runner, plus a bench and some weighs, but it was opened 24h so you could time your visit. Best thing in the hotel was the food, it was amazing, so much variety and very tasty, both for breakfast and dinner (we had half-board) and it was difficult not to succumb to all those culinary temptations. Have not used much the spa area, the water in the indoor jacuzzi was slightly colder than expected, while the saunas (both dry and wet) were not hot enough for my taste. The room was clean, but there were some niggling bits here and there — the lino on the floor had developed gaps between planks, some of the furniture was chipped, air-con was noisy. What I could not understand was that the safe in the room was not usable actually, you had to pay 20 EUR per stay to use it — why? First time I have seen this in a hotel, and not what I would expect from a 4-stars hotel. The parking can take only 10 cars, we never found a space in 1 week and we needed to search for spaces on side roads.
