I didn't know it was a religious hostel type place. I was in need of a quick and cheap place and went to Priceline to book and ended up here. You should know that you might get a shared room with multiple beds, a central bathroom/shower, and central living area that has a kitchen with a balcony. The view from the balcony is quite nice. The place was clean. You should bring your own towels and toiletries because it is not offered. A pleasant experience overall.

I wish I could rate this place better but our experience with their customer service made our experience that much worse. This place is clean and centrally located but those were the only positives in my experience. The list of negatives is much longer 1) We were charged double due to the front desk's incompetence and are still arguing to try to get this second charge refunded. 2) Elevator never works and it is on the 6th floor 3) Advertise Wi-Fi and don't actually have it in the rooms 4) No hot water 5) The group rooms are a good value for money but the private bedrooms are not. 6) If you have any issue and try to call management you will just be bounced around from person to person until you finally give up in frustration. 7) One of the aspects I love about hostels is that the staff is usually so friendly and offers a wealth of information on things to do, places to eat, hang-outs, etc. Posada San Francisco must go out of their way to hire unfriendly, unhelpful staff. The first woman knew nothing and offered no suggestions (and also was responsible for double booking us), and the other staff we met were overall rude and unhelpful. If they improved customer service/community aspects to the place I'm sure my experience would have been much better. Overall, only book here if you want to overpay to be centrally located.

Hostel is clean. Rooms are spacious. The beds are quite stiff. Great location. Price is Right.

It is a Hostel quite big, clean and tidy. Has it all. And although there is almost always staff is a bit complicated to access. The area is very good and quiet but there is everything. But it is not a place to make friends. There is No vibe social.

The best hostel in old San Juan, has a great location and great view. Very clean.

Right in the heart of San Juan with easy access to everything. The room fit out needs and the shared bathrooms were okay. AC in room. Thankfully there was a very small elevator to reach the 6th floor. No parking anywhere close so we had to walk roughly 5 blocks. I suggest paying to park in one of the structures to avoid a $250 parking ticket (as we got when we parked in an area that was missing the painted curb). Otherwise got a good night of sleep!

Location is good. Elevator is legendary itself. Wi-Fi was terrible hope they fix it.

Best location with great views. Good price and the best the volunteers working there. Really helpful. However I was charged 5 dollars for check-in after 21:00 when there was no info about that when I booked. After a looooòoooong negotiation I was told I will have them back.

The bathrooms are dilapidated, not saubet and old. The location is class, but somehow everything is angeranzt. The bed sheets also had stains. Overall. Never again.

If you want to take uber walk one or 2 blocks away because the taxi drivers are thugs and they break windows and take passengers out of the uber car. Take a taxi at your own risk. Taxis are too expensive.

Great hostel for the price. The location is amazing in old San Juan. Clean rooms and and bathrooms. Friendly atmosphere + a pretty good kitchen. Can't go wrong.

Pretty good. Room clean. One of the showers has no hot water or water pressure, but that's a small thing.

Nice, cheap hostel. Interestingly Catholic. Nice private rooms, shared bathrooms and kitchen, but there are multiple bathrooms so it was never an issue. Also, they have air conditioning!

For a hostel it's pretty good. Bring some shoes. If you don't mind not having a private bathroom it's a good place. Old San Juan is a good place to start your Puerto Rico adventure. Plus, they provide some tours. AC is great! And customer service is surprisingly good for a hostel. And you will get a lot father in Puerto Rico if you speak Spanish.

A tiny and room without window at the bottom of a dark corridor with a/c that makes more noise than a locomotive and that can not be set. The worst site quality / price of all my life.

Perfect Location in Old San Juan. Elevator is old, but worked for us just fine. We used the stairs mostly. 6 flights to lobby. Wish the hostel gave two towels per 2-3 days stay. Laundry and kitchen on site with lockers. We stayed in a private room for around 62$ a night with a TV at the end of the hall on lobby floor. We were pleased. We did not do any of the tours that the hostel offered. Hostel needs to update their pictures for their tours and bring people to the ferry with guaranteed tickets for the 5AM ferry for guest. This would be amazing if this hostel could do this. From Airport it is $23 one way. We Used Charlie's Rental Car or Target Rental Car. Avg. With taxes and insurance $73 day. Try to book in advance. If you are staying for 6 nights, I would recommend to get a car 3-4 days. Staff was friendly. A guest computer would be very helpful and if Wi-Fi was better that would be great. Prefer the hostel to carry a better selection of items to purchase to save time from having to get them at the store. Simple things like: Aloe, Shaving Stuff, first aid or to place items in snack machine, so you don't have to wait for the staff to return to the desk if they are helping a guest. Bring flip flops for showers and bring your own soaps and such. Felt very safe at this hostel. Trips to Flamenco beach should be for the 0500 ferry and should sell the tickets to guest at a priority. This would make it much easier for the guest trying to get to flamenco beach.

20$ for a bed in the dorm in the middle of old San Juan. That's a great price. The dorm was big with a lot of space. As well it was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. As it was spring break there were many spring break kids around and not all of them knew how to behave in a hostel…

In the heart of Old San Juan! Clean and affordable.

The location and terrace is the best of this place. Everything else is either broken or close to malfunction. Elevator is an adventure and the cleanliness is low level. The bed is really hard and uncomfortable and small for 2 people, air condition has a bad smell and hardly cools the room, the shared bathrooms smells like urine. The lady at the front desk though was nice, though it did not change the bad experience. For a youth hostel it is overpriced with those things.

This was my very first hostel and it was a great experience. The hostel was a little difficult to find and finding parking with a rental car there was almost impossible. But everything is within walking distance so the car I rented was a waste of money, plus keeping it in the parking garage. It was very clean and friendly. When I first checked in it was difficult to find someone but I found them eventually. The guy downstairs that works the bar has their direct phone number so he helped me. NO CASH they say. The rooms are air conditioned, everywhere else in the hostel is like 90 degrees. The view was amazing and I felt very safe. Especially as a young female traveling alone. Make sure to book in advance because I was turned away for one of the nights I stayed because I didn't book ahead and was forced to find a hotel. And maybe pack a blanket because the one thin sheet they provided was uncomforatable. There was hot water, a refrigerator and a vending machine. Overall a very nice hostel and I had a wonderful time.

We stayed during the San Sebastian Street Festival 2013. The hostel was exceptionally clean, quite, and perfectly situated to enjoy Old San Juan and all the festival experiences! We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Puerto Rico.

Booked online prior to taking my first trip to Puerto Rico. Book at least one month before your arrival. Stayed in mixed dorm the first night there. As a Senior Solo Traveler is was a very good experience being with younger persons from all over, but mostly from the States. The next two nights I had booked an Extreme Private which had a single bed and air-conditioner window unit. All bathrooms are shared, but no problem. The price for both the mixed dorm and the Extreme Private are inexpensive. This place is clean and safe. The location is good. Take the free trolley right out front. Great balcony. The staff and owner/ manager persons are the best. You will be fortunate if you get to stay here. If I ever get to go back to Old San Juan I will book here before I book my flight. My three nights here were the best introduction I could have had to Old San Juan. “Try to book the mixed dorm as first choice then go from there. The Extreme Private is, also, a good deal. Bring groceries with you unless you plan to eat every meal out. ”.

Wow! I stayed here last week after staying at another hostel, and it literally took my breath away. It is a little tricky to find but it is the MOST BEAUTIFUL HOSTEL that exists, I'm pretty sure. It is spotless and well decorated, beyond comfortable. The shared kitchen is lovely and lends itself well to cooking while on vacation. I really can't say enough about how nice this is compared to every other hostel I've ever been in. The elevator is literally an antique, so yeah, if you can't walk up a few flights of stairs you might run into some problems. But don't miss this — best deal around I'm pretty sure. Also the neighborhood (except la Perla, obviously) is great and you can walk around mostly without problems.
