The hotel is beautiful! The cleanliness and atmosphere of the hotel was perfect. I stayed for two nights, the first night I was welcomed by (LORY) A very kind girl who received me with a lot of education, and accommodated me as best she could to make me feel welcome into the Hotel. Unfortunately she was the only one with education and professionalism at the (FRONT DESK) When we checked out the last day in the morning, The elevator was not working. We had two big suitcases, And we were on the 3rd floor. One of the big window suites. The girl who was worked that day (08/28/2021) time 11:00 am was very heavy, horrible customer service and never! offered to help me, or that my last day was pleasant. She has a Nasty and horrible Talking to me and my boyfriend. Rude and disrespectful. I hope the Administration DON'T hire people like that Girl, and more people like LORY instead.

My husband & I loved our stay at La Terraza. The room was spacious and romantic. The rooftop view and infinity pool was refreshing, relaxing and they offer Champagne from a vending machine. So fun. Ideal location in Old San Juan. We will be back!

Very charming and quaint. The staff was very helpful. Our suite was large and had an outside courtyard. Really old cool building. Loved the roof top pool and bar. In the perfect location.

I love La Terraza and will definitely stay here again next time! The staff is so helpful and friendly, and the rooms are amazing and beautiful. The rooftop is to die for. I love it here!

The person who just attended to my wife on the phone to ask questions about our reservation had no encouragement to work very poorly her performance Nothing friendly nor the slightest courtesy of someone who works at front desk should have! The phone deal was lousy I don't want to know what it's going to be like there when we get there. Little willingness to answer questions and offer alternatives. Total disappointment before you arrive!

A beautiful place, clean rooms and the view on the terrace is spectacular.

All right the rooms very cozy but I had the bad experience when making a reservation and after a month I was debited again the money that I am still waiting for the Bank to return me had to cancel my cards because they still tried to debit for third time the money and everything has become so complicated to be able to use my money since I have to be withdrawing from the account in the bank car that easy I lose an hour of work in the long lines to be able to withdraw from my effective account for all this headache that I have been put through I do not returnoooooo and if I return cash payment nor pal I give back my card number there.

This hotel is a GEM! The location couldn’t be better and the decoration of the rooms make you feel very comfortable. The view from the rooftop is AMAZING, where the infinity pool is located. The staff is very friendly. They offer apartments for those who wants to feel like home! I will repeat this trip 1, 000 times!

Rooftop infinity pool, bar, seating areas. Lobby bar, close to restaurants. Be sure to visit the rose for flaminco dancing.

This is our 2nd stay at La Terraza and we love the place! The staff is great. The room is beautiful. We'll be back again!

Beautiful, clean, elegant and unique… the bed (we were in 125) was so comfortable I slept like a baby. Everything is top notch from the toiletries to roof top bar and pool.

By far the best place in my travels of the world. Its a quiet quaint place if you are like me and like relaxation. Ive got to say the staff is 100 +% awesome. If you go to Old San Juan or even the island, this place is a must stay!

This is well described as a boutique hotel. The entire hotel is a tourist dream. The rooftop pool and lounge area is very unique. With a infinity pool that's rather small but great for winding down your day. Complemented by a rooftop bar. Strangely enough this hotel also head the best coffee I had during my stay in Puerto Rico.

Considered booking along the vast high rise hotels in San Juan, but was more attracted to the initial photos presented on Travelocity. Apprehensive however, as I've sometimes found that pro photos made hotels/lodges look much more appealing than in person. Such was not the case here… Hotel La Terraza was every bit as charming as in the photos. While the lobby and halls are open air (no A/C), it makes up for it in character and authentic style of what Old San Juan "is". Our suite was attractive, reasonably spacious, nicely styled and the A/C worked well. Being from (dry) Colorado, my 11 y. O. Son and I were challenged by Puerto Rico's high humidity, so good A/C was a great relief after a few full days exploring in PR's humid heat. Every member of the staff, from the desk clerks to the terrace's restaurant server to the cleaning service lady were without exception very sincerely friendly (not the robotic friendly that's so common in too many places today). I especially enjoyed several conversations with "Yvonelle" (or similar) during my stay. My son mentioned that the shower water was cold once (we were there 7 nights) and I had lukewarm water once as well, but it was nothing that bothered me. Everything else functioned perfectly, was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Very high quality craftsmanship and architecture throughout. The mini-pool was okay, we enjoyed it 3 times.

The treatment was very good. An option to leave home and enjoy the beauties of the old town and has a beautiful view.

What a great location and staff! If you're even considering staying here, do it! I've bounced around to a few hotels and I had the best experience here. Hard to find a hotel pool in this neighborhood, too!

Good place to stay if you plan to do internal tourism in old San Juan.

Perfect place to pop up to at sunset, with expansive views of the city. It was very quiet both times I was there, so had ample choice of seating for the best view. The service was friendly and they had some drink specials.

La Terraza is one of the best hotels in old San Juan. They are in the heart of Old San Juan. You're about 2 blocks from all the bars, you have all the restaurants within walking distance and you're close by to the cruise port. Management and staff were great during my time there.

Cute spot but service was really slow. We just wanted to have a few drinks + a bite to eat. We sat ourselves. The waitress passed by our table several times + never acknowledged us. I went to the bar + asked if someone would come see us with menus she said yes. No one did so I went back to get the menus + ordered our drinks. Once the barmaid realized all of this she came to take our order + the service made more sense.

Wow. This hotel and it's staff have created Heaven on earth. The rooftop pool with glass side and the open air rooftop restaurant and bar are phenomenal. I don't even know how its possible for life to be this incredible. But it is. Right here. Love this experience.

The AC dripped on us all night even when turned up. We ended up sleeping the wrong way in the bed to stay dry. Also the breakfast service was terribly slow and messed up the order.

If you want breakfast come from 8 to 11 am.

Beautiful, historic place in the quaint, colourful streets of Old San Juan. Very lovely little lobby, beautiful decorations, and an amazing rooftop terrace, where they do breakfast. Even a little rooftop pool up there! However, it is very pricey $$$

My favorite hotel in San Juan! Great prices, and an old school, luxury hotel vibe. It's like something straight out of a 1960's Bond movie. I loved it!

Beautiful place with great staff, unfortunately sliding down a bit. Seems as if maintenance had been neglected before hurricane Maria, and there was some hurricane damage, so the total effect is that of a pretty threadbare property. Sad to say but you can do better in Old San Juan at this price point.

Amazing! The staff went way above and beyond. When I booked the room I told them it was my wife's first time in Puerto Rico and requested a bottle of champagne and dozen roses. So, we check and head up to our room and when I open the door… rose petals leading to the bed bottle of nice champagne on ice and a crystal vase with a dozen red roses. The property is beautiful and located among a quiet side street in Old San Juan. The food was wonderful, the mojitos were strong, and we recommend La Terraza De San Juan to anyone seeking a romantic stay.

I listen to the sound of the coqui singing outside my window, at La Terraza in Old San Juan & it reminds me of home. If ever you should find yourself in Puerto Rico, their is simply no other place to stay… a "light in the darkness" in every and all ways. People seek refuge here from the walls that close in, the owners spread joy, compassion and utility to travelers and locals alike. For those of you who know my home to be a place of refuge & peace, please know, I have found the same thing here in Old San Juan… for at the end of each exhausting day, I eagerly seek the comfort, compassion, consistent service, beauty, perseverance and pride I know will greet me here. Here at La Terraza in Old San Juan, the spirits and hospitality of the ancients live on.

Last Friday we found out on our last day of our cruise the hotel we booked closed down. We didnt no what we were going to do. My husband went on book it and found a place that had 1 room left it was at La Terraza in old San Juan. When we got their the staff was attentive, helpful, and happy they could accommodate us. The place was clean, had electricity, and running water. Our room was big and nicely decorated. The owner was so nice as well as the staff. I would recommend this hotel to everyone we are planning to stay there next year.

Get a room above the first floor. Nice staff, good location for a short stay, beyond that not much to do in area. Not a luxury hotel. Not near a beach. If that is what you want, advise to stay at beach resort.

Large, clean room with three sets of large doors opening to a narrow balcony with a street view. Lovely tile floors. Great shower with good water pressure. Staff is very helpful! Nice little bar on the street and a bar/ restaurant upstairs. Good prices for room and food.

The in room private massage was relaxing. The coffee in the morning was amazing. The amenities was on par with any of the big name hotel chains. My wife and I would stay again for sure. The staff was stellar and the rooftop bar and pool was romantic.

Stayed here one night after a cruise. Staff was very helpful and actually upgraded us to a suite for no additional charge. Rooms are immaculate and bathrooms have been updated. Rooftop bar and pool provide an excellent view of the city. Highly recommend if you want to stay in Old San Juan.

Very cute boutique hotel with friendly staff and cute decor. The rooftop is a really nice place to hang out. The pool is a little small though but still nice to hop in for a little bit. Giving this place 4 stars because the bathroom was a little musty and the shower had a cool design but leaked all over the bathroom floor. Despite this, I highly recommend staying here if you're in Old San Juan. It's at a great location!

The staff & owners are fantastic. Very helpful very friendly. I did not have a room as I was staying at an AirBnB in the neighbourhood, but discovered their rooftop patio and enjoyed breakfast there several times during my vacation. They even offered an open ivitation to use the rooftop pool.

With no doubt one of the best hotels in Sanjaun, PR. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff, The staff was extremely friendly, the roof top breakfast place is flexible and beautiful (appreciate this! ) Very closer to the beach, bars in old sanjuan and the hotel owner Mr. Gustavo deserves a special thanks, Very friendly and helpful, they have a terrace pool which is absolutely beautiful, I would strongly recommend this place for anyone who would want to visit puerto rico, three great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the amazing experience. Guys! This place is just next level to anything out there. Dont give it a second thought. I really would want to thank Mr. Gustavo, Carmen & Marija.

Beautiful rooms and spotless hotel in general. The service was amazing! Everyone was very friendly and even the owner was there to greet us. Hope all my hotel experiences in my life were like this one.

Spent one night here with the wife. The room was very well kept with very modern bathroom, a small living room and a very powerful air conditioners. They have kept the historic features of the building very well too. Staff were very friendly. The 12pm checkout time allows for a slower and more relaxed morning which was exactly what my wife and I needed. Will stay again if I get the chance.

Best hotel in Viejo San Juan. Unparalleled love. Not recommended for miserable or angry people.

I took a short trip to San Juan and stayed at this gem in the middle of Old San Juan. This is my 5th time coming to Puerto Rico and this Hotel is by far the best. My experience was superb, from the check in where they greeted me with a smile and a complementary beer (what a way to greet a tired from a long flight guest, major points for that), service quality, friendly staff that goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great time not only in the hotel but in Puerto Rico as well, so don't hesitate to ask them where are the best places to eat, beach, dance, etc. The overall ambiance of the hotel and the food were great. I had the hamburger sliders (farm to table) and they were delicious. The location of the hotel is also convenient, it's surrounded by restaurants, shops and activities. When you comeback from a busy day of activities in San Juan you can go up to the rooftop (La Terraza) and enjoy the pool, the bar, or simply chill and enjoy the view of cruise ships taking off.

Fantastic hotel with great service. We were greeted with a local beer upon checkin. We stayed in the two bedroom two bathroom suite and it was perfect for us. Gorgeous view from the rooftop pool. Rooftop bar isn't open every day, so we didn't get to try it out. There is an elevator.

We stayed in the hotel for one night. The location is perfect, you can walk anywhere. The room is small, but very clean and sleek. The rooftop is fabulous with small pool. The staff were very good, very helpful especially the manager of the hotel, he also a great bartender, Jose one of the sraff is a great gitar player and singer… definitely recommend.

Checked in a few hours early. Process was a breeze. Offered complimentary local bottled beers. The hotel itself is beautiful and charming, but could use a few touch ups here and there. Parking in all of Old San Juan is hard to come by (street vs garage). Rent a car when you leave the area if you plan to visit the rest of the island I imagine room 2A is not one of their best rooms. It smells of mildew and has no windows. It is also very close to the front door and office, so the doors slamming in the morning woke me up. It is in a living room of sorts and lacks privacy. Another mirror and trash can in the room would be nice. The bathroom was beautiful, with a rain forest shower. The shower doesn't drain properly and a pool of dirty water forms in the shower floor, also the glass barrier isn't wide enough and shower water pools outside the shower. Pros: A lot of fluffy towels. Comfortable bed. A/C, hot water. Slow Internet (5mbps) and only 3 channels on the dish network. For $48/night (+$23 in taxes/fees), I didn't feel comfortable to complain/ask for a room change. But when the manager read my response to an email from Expedia, I got a missed call from him. When we got back at night, he presented us with really good champagne and explained that the rest of the rooms were booked. This was above and beyond good customer service. We enjoyed the champaign near their cute little rooftop pool. Check out was speedy.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Really cool smaller rooms with amazing shower heads and unlimited hot water. Staff was incredibly helpful for local attractions and any questions we had. This hotel has an awesome rooftop you should definitely check out! Great location that has lots of things within walking distance.

This hotel is awesome. Very convenient location. Amazing room with comfy bed and nice bath. The staff is unbelievably helpful. On check-in they gave us cocktails and showed us on a map where to go and where to eat. Rooftop pool is small but nice and the roof top bar is a wonderful way to unwind after a hot day in the town. I recommend this hotel with no reservations. Wonderful hotel.

Perfect experience at La Terraza. I'm typically a traveler who likes to be near cultural centers, but still wants to stay in a chain hotel; I usually like the perceived comfort that comes along with recognizing the brand name. For this stay I decided I wanted to be right in the heart of Old San Juan and stay in one of the smaller hotels. I was traveling with three friends and only stayed one night since we were getting on a cruise the next day. We arrived late in the evening, but they were expecting us. As we walked in, they offered us a "welcome beer" which was much needed after the day spent traveling. They told us we were VIPs and they truly treated us as such. They showed us to our room (#321) which was a suite. The room had a huge bed, the most comfortable pull-out couch I've ever felt in my life, a huge open shower (open to the bathroom, but still private and separate from the room) with a rain shower head, and three small balconies overlooking the city streets. Everything was spotless and comfortable. The room stayed cool even with the Caribbean heat outside. On the rooftop, the view was amazing. It had a small infinity pool and overlooked Old San Juan and the cruise ships in port. Also on the rooftop were a great open-air bar and an area to relax. The front desk also functioned as a bar, but the best bar of the hotel was only a room or two away. This bar made some of the fanciest, best drinks we had ever had.

We're on our second day here. I'm impressed. The service is great. as we were checking in the guys up front helping gave us a map of old San juan and wrote several spots to go to. every one of them great. if you're looking for the best place to stay around here, you just found it.

Great boutique hotel located conveniently in Old San Juan. The service is very good — they really help get around town. Morning breakfasts are good and sufficient but not the best in the world. The hosts also serve as bartenders. The roof has a small infinity pool — great ways and great place to lounge. The rooms are very nice. We had one with a balcony and suite. A historic building with a modern touch. Great service from Monika, Carmen and Princess.

We stayed at “La Terraza Hotel” 3 days before we started a 7 night cruise. The staff was wonderful Carmon who checked us in was great giving us tastes of the local rum which was very good. The room or should I say the apartment on the 2nd floor was great. The pool and roof top was one of our favorite places to just sit and watch the sky line. The pool was wonderful what a view. The fresh coffee was to die for and they would keep making it for me whenever I need a cup. The breakfast morning was better than most continental breakfasts with the addition of meats and cheeses. The location of the hotel makes everything in Old San Juan about. 3 of a mile away and easy walk for old fat people like us. I had planned for this to be my only trip to Puerto Rico but because of the friendly staff and people we are planning another trip which will include a stay at the “La Terraza Hotel”.

Great hosts Jose Enrique and Monica went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, and gave us what I think was the best room. Totallly enjoyed the visit.

Most amazing place to stay in Old San Juan. The staff are so friendly and make you feel right at home. We are currently staying in room 2b. It is a one bedroom with full kitchen in the main floor. It is great and breath taking. The view is of the inner gardens but that is alright. I will request this room in the future.

I did not believe all those good reviews on Tripadvisor could be true but believe me they don't do this place justice. Excellent service, excellent location, huge rooms decorated in colonial style with modern accents, fast internet, very helpful staff, free gourmet expresso coffee all day long, helpful staff, etc etc. The list goes on and on.
