Simple check in, all the staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a great and quiet location for exploring what guimaraes has to offer.

It was a very good stay in the lovely city of Guimarães. The small hotel has wonderful art displayed throughout which was a joy.

The hotel staff was exceptional. The hotel manager went out of his way to help me pay a parking ticket at the gas station. The room was lovely and spotless.

My parents stayed here for 4 nights, they were spoilt with so my hospitality from everyone at the hotel. The staff all speak exceptionally good English and made such a difference to their stay.

After walking 17 km on the Portuguese Camino, being welcomed at the front gate by Fernando with Elisabete on crutches was definitely what we needed.

My wife and I stayed at Smiling Places for three nights in late October as a base to explore Porto and northern Portugal, and again on our final night in Portugal to fly out of OPO the next morning.

The hotel is located near the train station which made it easy to find and get settled. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable.

Being fair I rate this as a 4 star hotel. It uses 5 Star suggestions in its marketing and well crafted photography, but this is a refurbed building from the 60s/70s.

As soon as we entered the hotel, we felt at comfortable and in holiday, even the smell at the reception was amazing.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and were extremely pleased.

By the moment I stepped there I forgot all my problems.

Well-equipped, really cozy rooms in the heart of the city. I had one of my best sleeps here.

Beautiful little quinta overlooking the rivers and mountains of Geres. Good location and very well signposted, a tranquil pool which is great for relaxing.

Everything about this Posada was top-notch. The space is overwhelmingly beautiful, and is a perfect blend of anncient and modern. The staff could not have been nicer.

Beautiful historical building. We were there in winter and the rooms are cosy and warm. There are several rooms where we can enjoy a nice talk. The fireplace room was our favourite.

I just stopped in to check out the bar! Wowzer! It was like I was in a fancy British manner house or pub. The Porto-Tonic was so refreshing and delicious. And the bar tender was lovely! Top notch!

The BnB was truly charming and clean with a nice simple and tasty breakfast; it was very comfortable and Jureima was delightful, friendly and attentive.

We had a wonderful stay at the Porto River Aparthotel! The service was excellent, and we especially want to commend Sonia at the front desk.

The hotel room is beautiful located in front of the Douro river. Everything inside the room is clean and they tried their best to help you with your needs.

Immaculate service made our birthday stay truly special. The whole team was wonderful, and the reception staff in particular were incredibly warm and welcoming.

We had a truly wonderful week at Eurostars Aliados.
The spacious premium room, with three large windows overlooking Aliados Square, was absolutely magnificent.

My husband and I had the most incredible weekend stay at Jardins do Porto, it truly exceeded every expectation. We stayed in the suite on the second floor, and it was absolutely phenomenal.

I had a wonderful stay at the gorgeous Cenica Porto Hotel. From the moment I checked in, I received such a lovely welcome from the team and my room was absolutely wonderful.

My wife and I wanted an authentic quinta for our overnight stay in the Douro Valley during our first trip to Portugal. Cesar, Jose, and Jorge were incredibly gracious and accommodating.

I went for a trip to the valley and chose this Quinta. One of the best choices and the highlight of my trip. Cesar, the owner, told us his story and the property history.

What a wonderful experience! Above and beyond staff (Patricia in particular was so sweet and accommodating). The amazing view and location doesn’t hurt either.

Awesome location and view. We got the presidential suite which had a parenting room and dining area, a very large bathroom and a good size bedroom n we had 2 balconies which over looked the river.

I stayed at this beautiful place just last week.
I felt so comfortable, I didnt even wanna leave: The rooms, the interior, the garden, the location… I could totally move in immediately!

The room was exceedingly clean and well dressed. The owner was very helpful with information around the city. The kitchen was well equipped.

It was a perfect choice! Quiet and close to Porto.

Once in a blue moon you encounter little gems, hidden in the countryside. Case Altamira is such a gem in every sense!

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room had an amazing view over the Duoro river and the whole house is like a manor throning on terraces above the valley.

Super clean, very cozy and comfortable room, perfect for our family of 4 and our dog. Relaxing silence away from the hustle and bustle of a city like Porto, but near enough to enjoy it as well.

We spent one week and would not think twice about going back! The host honors the kindness of the Portuguese people, she was always ready to go far and beyond to make us feel welcome.
