The room layout is OK, quite quiet. Food general, the room is too many bugs, unexpectedly no air-conditioning, summer stay will feel sad some. Wi-Fi, but not very fast.

The staff is small, the family-style business is preferred, and the staff at the front desk and restaurant are very helpful and have a good attitude. Live in the same place as the object, if the joy and quiet and excellent environment is very appropriate.

Not a backpackers. No noise after 9 pm. Very uptight hosts who clearly shouldn't be running a backpackers and have no clue about what makes a good hostel. That being said, a great location up in the south islands high country.

Wouldn't recommend this place at all. No one was on at reception, the place was like a ghost town. My partner is over 6ft and the small double bed would not fit both of us. The room was drab and dark, decor old fashioned, no air conditioning and it was so hot… really needs a spruce up. I had to carry my suitcase up a skinny outside stairwell, no access inside. TV reception was terrible. In fact, we just left and went on to Twizel to stay the night (was still charged the full price on my credit card — anything was better than staying there! )

Beautiful setting and room was spacious and well laid out. Reception was empty on arrival and the restaurant was closed. Staff not very helpful in suggesting other places to eat. Same for breakfast and on checkout.

Only stayed 1 night but friendly receptionist, rooms where adequate, shower over the bath in our room, comfy bed, nothing much near by, nice bars and restaurants 10 minutes walk from hotel, we went to the hot tubs opposite, plenty of car parking, does have a bar but we didn't go.

Although the facilities are old, but the environment is neat, staff warm and courteous, near the pasture, can be close to the sheep photo.

Very outdated hotel. Everything, (and I mean EVERYTHING), hasn't been updated in at least 30 years. Old furniture, old sheets, old bathroom, very old carpet floor. Our room had a musty smell, so we had to keep windows open even though it was chilly outside. Wish I'd read reviews before booking this. The only positive things are — staff were friendly, and there's a plenty of parking outside.

Simply the worst motel I ever stayed at. Friendly staff but nothing, not even the sheets, has been updated since the 70's. Unbelivable.

Interior decor is very early 80's. Staff is pleasant and helpful, but my room wasn't ready when I arrived in the early afternoon. Lounge seating is quite comfortable.

Completely 1973. That sort of has some charm but not worth $125 a night we paid. No toaster available in the room I assume to force one to go to the dining room but can report that we were able to cook toast on the iron! The person that said time tunnel was right on the money.

Old fashioned hotel which was build in the 60 or 70 and nothing happened since. I think the carpet is even the first one. It's some kind of a time tunnel. Too expensive for the quality, the personal are mostly work and travel kids, I think. Don't take the breakfast, it's not worth the money. But now the good knews: they tried to keep the rooms clean, the view from the dining room was great and the good food quality at diner not expectable!

Below zero, no hot water, room decorating, and 20 years ago that old, but it is very difficult to eat this is the worst hotel I've stayed at).

The worst hotel we've stayed at; not clean Pro: Nice location near gliding airfield Cons: My husband (Peter Dulgar) and I booked this room in early 2013 as I was interested in finding out about gliding in Omarama. When we arrived and checked in v. Late (almost 10.30pm), I went to the room while my husband got the bags. When I walked in, the bathroom window was slightly ajar and I walked over to close it. The toilet seat was up and someone had defecated in the toilet and left it without flushing. I was horrified, but honestly too tired to see the manager at that point. However, everything else was also unclean: the bed sheets were badly wrinkled and had old stains on them (although they smelled as though they had been washed) ; further, the beds were so uncomfortable, we ended up sleeping in different beds because otherwise we kept rolling together and then when I did move over to the single bed, it was largely like lying on a big, squishy foam roll. Also the carpet appeared dirty; several areas of the wallpaper were ripped off; and the towel I used for my shower in the morning had a long, black hair on it (I have short, light hair). We haven't experienced anything this bad since communist Eastern European hotels in the 1990s. When we FLED in the morning I understand that I should have addressed this with management, but the woman at the counter just took the key without any query about how our stay was and the manager's office appeared empty.
