We love the location of this hotel. It was just a couple blocks from the Colosseum and so many restaurants and stores. The only issue we had was the bathroom was so small. The room was an OK size and the breakfast was absolutely delicious.
Perfect location, wonderfully decorated hotel.
Our family is four have just spent 3 nights here and are very happy with our stay. The location is great, a 2 minute walk from the Colosseum (and only about an hour to The Vatican, we walked everywhere) with a number of excellent local and reasonable restaurants just a few meters away.
The hotel is beautiful decorated, mosaics on all the floors, just walking to breakfast is a fascinating experience!
Roberto the owner is right to be proud of his hotel and was courteous and helpful both before, via email, and whilst we were there.
The room was perfectly fine for the four of us and there was no noticeable noise at night time, certainly not traffic as it's on a quiet side road.
For a 'school holiday' week, I feel we got good value for money based on the decor and location.
Grazie mille!

Just returned from a European excursion and I wanna share part one with you.
I landed in Rome, knowing nothing about the Layout of the city to find an email from a hotel that I had booked (near the Vatican. ) telling me that I could not stay there the first night because there was a plumbing situation in my room so I would have to find another place for the first night and then they would accommodate me with the room from that time on. I really didn’t wanna change rooms. I just wanted to find a nice comfortable place to stay …. So I looked online and found a little boutique hotel a little pricier, but at that point, I didn’t care it looked so charming it was in an entirely different neighborhood. …close to the Colosseum. I said why not that could be interesting…. So I booked a room at the CHELIO. Took a cab directly there and was greeted by the owner, Roberto. First thing I noticed was the magnificent tile floor and artwork so perfectly placed throughout. I felt as if this was Roberto’s private little palace. He saw me walk in with a cane and rather than put me on the second floor, which he had saved for me, put me in a charming room on the first floor, so I wouldn’t have to Deal with steps. I loved the beautiful room. I loved the art in the room. I loved the size of the room… besides the KING bed, there was a single bed, perfect for laying out my clothes. The room was impeccable as was the rest of the place. And the room was extremely quiet.
