Good location to venturing around the city, room size for 2 is small but cozy, clean. 4 stars for sure.

I stayed at the exchange on my 4 day stay in Amsterdam. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The location was amazing. U can walk to everything. Had a good experience in the redlight district. It's close to transportation and the trains over great locations great stay and great 1st experience in Amsterdam.

We recently stayed her for 5 nights, our room was lovely & the bed was super comfy! All staff were so pleasant and helpful. It’s literally the ideal hotel to get to places as there is so much around it. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Absolutely incredible staff and quirky hotel. We’re staying here for my birthday, arriving early the lovely woman at the desk had our room readied for us even though we’re two hours early to check in.
She kindly printed off a map for a destination we wanted and helped us with all our questions about the area while our room was being sorted.
We got to our room met with a happy birthday banner and a birthday card.
Couldn’t recommend a better hotel. Thanks for making our time here special.

Will always stay here when I visit Dam now. It’s just the best hotel there. The location is great, the Wi-Fi is good and the rooms are really well designed.

Beautiful rooms, always clean & friendly service and it's literally a 5 minute walk away from all the central bars and shops definitely coming back soon!

This was our (myself & my 2 daughters) 1st visit to Amsterdam and we needed a hotel that was central to everything, Hotel The Exchange fitted the bill…

Our rooms were amazing, I especially enjoyed my balcony room. The girls also loved their black & white circles room.
I loved the fact that we could leave our luggage in a safe room both before our rooms were ready and also after checking out.
Thank you for accommodating my request for a room close to the lift (I had spinal surgery 6 was ago) and also my daughters room to be next to mine.
If we ever return to Amsterdam we will stay at Hotel The Exchange again…

My wife and I had a fine stay at the exchange. The room was decorated as the photos showed but felt very sterile and hospital like to stay there. The hotel's location is close to most of the tourist shops and destinations which is nice but you're also in the thick of the crouds here.

Nice Hotel in the middle of downtown Amsterdam! As it is an old dutch house from the 17th century (or even older? ) it is quite exciting to find your way to your room! Rooms are clean, bathrooms are newly renovated. However, if you have a room with streetview it is quite noisy even during nighttime.

Steam punk x nouveau art A rare gem! Wanted avant-garde, creatively appointed, netherlands/minimalist accommodations in a central location, and fell in love! Unexpected breakfast/lunch restaurant is casual and delicious, and the staff throughout super friendly and accommodating. Thank you Sabine, Brenda and HX team!

Very nice hotel in an excellent location. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Themed rooms are excellent, we stayed in the pleats room and would recommend it to anyone. Will definitely stay here again.

Interesting hotel. Each room is different, done by local fashion designers. The narrow entry is hard to spot from the street, especially when the sidewalk is crowded. Very clean, accommodating, and feels like a secure/safe place. Our room had a king size bed, a loft bed, safe, small dining table, tea and coffee maker, and a towel dryer that uses piped hot water to heat towels bolted to the shower wall. Would definitely recommend this place.

First time visiting Amsterdam and we stayed at this lovely hotel. Our room was very cosy but very unique! For all the time we spent in there it was what we needed. Staff were pleasant and helpful and room was clean and tidy. Would deffo stay here again!

Great location and friendly staff. However the design of the rooms (mannequins and life size human pictures) were not what is would typically life. Might get a little spooky for light sleepers!

Excellent unique hotel in a great central location and quieter than expected at night. Friendly and helpful staff and very clean, fun and individual rooms! The cafe next door is hip and delicious and the breakfast special is good value. We will stay again!

Great place. Central and quiet. Pricy and the quality off the rooms might differ (been there several times). But all rooms are good and clean. The staff is normally friendly and helpful. Breakfast not included, but you can to buy it at the next door cafe.

The hotel has a really nice and unique style. Very clean and the staff is very friendly. Other hotels should look up to them as a prime example for excellent customer service. Rate are reasobable.

Fantastic hotel with all different and themed rooms. Really enjoyed the central location and staff were kind enough to accede to our request for a rear-facing room, which meant we had a very quiet room not directly facing on Damrak. Its a bit pricey but worth the money for the stay, and for the location.

That was a lovely experience in your hotel! We had the 4 star room with balcony it was spooooott ooon more good than we ever expected! Right in the middle of the center 3min dam square, 2min Central station, 3min red light district e. T. C Great service great coffee at cafe stock! Every day our room was fabulous and clean! The personnel was so helpful everything we ask everything we need! We definitely gonna be back again and book the same hotel same room! It is an alternative hotel, pretty innovative. Each room is designed by a different designer and some rooms can be impressive and other can be really weird. However, I think that there are some rooms quite small and dark and sometimes the elevator doesn't work.

Our room was clean but the standard didn't really convince me. The beds were super comfy. There are negative points due to the volume of the tram and the relatively high price for mediocre rooms. Would still visit the hotel again as it is excellent for a city trip.

I booked one of their big rooms with terrace. The room is amazing. Comfy beds. Very clean. Location amazing. I would definetly go again next time. The location is o e of the best. In the middle of action. When you want to have fun, it is just a matter of a couple of minutes to any where.

Cozy hotel, but unfortunately very poorly insulated. The TV did not work properly and the beds were also not the yellow of the egg.

Lovely hotel stay here. Easy access to places you want to see in Amsterdam. Staff friendly, rooms are spotless and very comfy beds. Nice little cafe below that has nice cakes (hash free)

Perfect location, very central and easy access to the main attractions. Room is very well design. Bed is very comfy and staffs are very attentive. The only thing is thin wall which you can hear the noise from the other rooms.

Unique individual hotel where every room and floor looks different. Please consider the style of this hotel can only be as it is because it is old furniture. So, of course, it smells like musty wood everywhere. But it is not dramatic. Coming to some rooms is a little climbing adventure but built really witty. Absolutely recommended. Super location.

€205 — for a "double bed" of 1 35 m width — that's very naughty!

Brilliant central location. Staff were attentive to our needs and requirements. Upon check-in, and check-out the customer service experience was lacking in flavor. Overall, the room had all the necessary furniture which made it a comfortable stay. We had a lovely balcony and the decorative artwork inside was interesting. Room was pricey £190 for a 1 night stay in a 3-star room with no tea/coffee facilities, lack of toiletries and limited space. We would have scored this place a 3.5/5 however a 4/5 rating has been given due to being allocated a room with a balcony.

Brilliant hotel and especially get a lot for the price. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything, a short walk away from Dam Square and the Red Light District and very close to a lot of nice restaurants and bars. Staff are friendly and always helpful. The room was spacious, always clean and the bed was one of the comfiest I've ever slept in. The only problem with this hotel was our bathroom was a little small and cramped but other than that a great hotel, we're booking another holiday to Amsterdam in February and will definitely be staying here again. I've been to a lot of places and stayed in a lot of hotels but this one is definitely one of my favourites, cannot recommend this place enough.

Arrived in Amsterdam late on due to a flight mix up, went to a coffee shop then turned up at the hotel, they were extremely helpful. Then comes the room… me and my partner weren't staying long and the room was kinda small but absolutely perfect for what we wanted. Totally baked when we arrived so the furry wall lift was amazing, so was the polka dot room with toilet facilities, safe and a shower, it was a peaceful sleep too. Right on Damrak so totally convenient to the train, trams, Primark and coffee shops if that's your thing. Would definitely visit here again!

Great location, to Central station on foot 5 minutes, to red Light street too 10 minutes, near tram stop, water boats, dam Square and central shopping streets.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the room (we had an economy double with 1 large bed) is clean enough, small, but there is a safe, hair dryer, air conditioning, TV, shower. The view from the window is chic!

Unique and interesting hotel! Decorated super uniquely each room is an art piece! Very fun concept! It is really clean. Bed is super comfortable. Had a lovely towel warmer and adjustable removable handheld shower head. Staff is friendly and helpful. Really conveniently located a block and a half away from Amsterdam Central Station. It is on the main road but the rooms are super sound proof — never heard the main road expect for faint sound of emergency vehicles and the bell tower in the morning. Not too much to the rooms but a big step up from hostels and much better than a sterile feeling hotel with trashy/cheesy/bland colors and decor.

Good reception but hotel is extremely small. The entrance can be easily missed. The elevator can fit in two ppl or one person and two bags. Only two ppl can pass through the corridors. My booking was through hotwire, so I didn't know what I was going to get. The location is awesome! Smack in the middle of the centrum.

Really central, clean rooms in the centre of Amsterdam. Nice and quirky as the rooms have been given a design flare by local artists. Good quality bedding, a comfy sleep, and really fluffy towels.

While it has an excellent location and very good taste in the decoration of the common areas and rooms not have air conditioning and some are so small that it is impossible to open the luggage!

What a quirky place! Was definitely a different place to stay. Room was snug (wouldn't want to be in there in summer though, even with air con! ) Bed was divine! Sooooo comfy! HIGHLY recommend some sort of little tea/coffee station in each room. Was a nightmare to try and find a decent brew at stupid o'clock in the morning after hitting the red light Cannot fault location! Overall a pleasant stay, cheers.

A very small hotel. In the room hardly possible to walk to the door to the toilet. Good service. Slightly clean. The price is through the roof. We paid 145 euros for two per day.

Hotel is very well located. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms have a very unique design and feel to it. My room had a feeling of a tent. Would recommend booking this hotel.

This hotel has a very unique style aesthetic, which makes it one of the most visually interesting hotel stays I have ever had. It's right bear the center of amsterdam, with food, shopping, and bars minutes away. The prices are competitive, the rooms are clean, and the staff is kind. It's a little hard to find, and the elevator situation is a bit weird. The bathroom arrangement is cramped, but Despite that, I would recommend this room without hesitation.

Friendly and helpful staff, rooms have a quirky fashion design (ours was a T-shirt), are clean plus we had gorgeous sized bed with comfy mattress. Only down side was the lighting in our room was a bit dim at night. Perfectly located with tram and train access 2 minutes away. Perfect for a short break we would definitely stay again!

Cool fresh freelance room! Small but perfect for our needs superb location as it was five mins walk up from the train station, lovely friendly staff, have recommended to friends and family we will be back.

This hotel has lots of character. Took me a while to get used to our room. It's lovely but small. I would suggest booking higher than two stars.

Very small rooms yet very comfortable and cozy. I did not like the bathroom though, seeing it a was literally less than 1 cubic meters and no sink.

Good price, well placed. The room was small, but cinsidering the price, it`s normal. The bathroom were new and clean. Free Wifi available. Perfect for a quick weekend in town when you are with friends.

Great hotel in the heart of Amsterdam opposite the old Exchange building (now shops). Cool rooms and convenient coffee shop underneath the hotel on street level. Wonderful, friendly staff.

Was basic and clean, but the lady on reception was very rude! Was only there one night which was enough. There are better hotels in the area for the price we paid.

Hotel. Rooms too small and furniture, not so much, but overall nice and the main plus of course location. A few minutes walking from central station/Dam square/redlight district. Price for Amsterdam is quite tolerant. Vobschem is a great choice.
