Villa Soraya

Seems like a family ran business. A bit far from the medina. Breakfast is similar to all other breakfasts we have had in Morocco, we were pleased. Jacuzzi is for two people. We did not use it but some other customers did. The man at the reception was really kind.

Ignore the bad comments the stay is very comfortable and the atmosphere is very nice. Very helpful staff!

A super nice family is running this cute Riad. Some of the furniture is a bit broken and could be changed but the very nice service and the view from the rooftop repay anyway. The stuff is very flexible and always ready and happy to help. We enjoyed the stay very much.

I really nice hotel to stay in if you are in marakkech. The location is just walking distance from Jardin Majorelle and YSL museum. The rooms are clean and tidy with the classic morroccan architecture. They have a jacuzzi and a hammam service to get yourself relaxed, though the hammam was not working while we were there. The breakfast was good and the host was one of the most friendly and welcoming people we have met.

I rarely leave reviews so you can imagine my anger through the experience of this hotel.
We arrived and they informed us that the check out is at 12:00 and not 00:00 as it is written in Booking. The answer of the employee was “what can I do about this” once we told him that we specifically booked this room for that. He also said that we can stay in the common area if we like until we go get our flight which is in the afternoon.
Additionally to that he asked as to pay an additional fee of 50 MAD. Since we didn’t have the local currency we offered to pay by card which he couldn’t accept as he “didn’t have a POS”. We told him we have 20 euros and wanted to give us 100 MAD instead and basically steal us as the amount of money we should be getting back is about 170 MAD.
Not to mention the sarcastic attitude and lack of customer service.
As for the room, half of the facilities they mentioned they have do not even work. Broken bathroom glass, hydromassage not working, not even soap in the bathroom!

The jacuzzi is out of order. There was no water inside. The Hammam is as well out of order.
The breakfast is a cold coffee which you get from previous tables who had breakfast 1 1/2 hours before. No fruits or vegetables.
The guy from the reception is hard to reach especially when you need something. He charged us 20 MAD for printing the boarding passes.
We needed some help with one call, but at the reception there is no phone to make a call.

What an absolute disaster this place is! No less than a scam! Alain the host is a scam artist. Unclean, untidy and dated property. The pictures they have advertised are SO OLD as the property looks nothing like the pictures. The jacuzzi was never available for us even though we asked for it several times and they avoided the topic. The massage room had ripped furniture, dust and did not look like it had been used for years. The rooms had a strong sewage smell, were dimly lit with dusty furniture and dusty bedding and one room even had a broken door! For breakfast you are offered several types of bread and nothing more. We asked for a cot bed for our baby and were given an unclean wooden bed that looked like it would fall apart any minute. When the stay was cancelled after the first night, Alain offered to refund part now and part after the 14 day review period. Guess who stopped replying after the 14 day review period! Lol we were unable to review on Airbnb and he also stole our money. Bunch of con artists offering a ridiculous service and a property that has not been maintained.

Villa Soraya is located in a quiet area of Marrakech (30 minutes walking from the Medina /Koutoubia Mosque). ; spacious rooms and lovely terrace. They usually serve breakfast at 10 am but Khalil managed also to prepare us breakfast at 7:40 am when we have to departure early for Essaouira. He's available even at late night for check in or other informations; in addiction, he can also book you in advance taxi transfer for the airport.
