Riad Viva

Had a weird/ uncomfortable experience here.
You need to knock to be let into the building (only a room key is given the main door is on a knocking basis). We came back late one night (around midnight) and another guest was coming out so let us back in.
The guy who does the night shift unlocked our bedroom door early in the morning and walked in. We were asleep and obviously very spooked by this ordeal. Not sure what the intention with this was, as all our stuff was in the room and we were asleep. When he noticed we were awake and noticed him he quickly left and said when we saw him at breakfast the next day that he wanted to ‘check we had come back’. Very strange and made us feel very unsettled for the rest of the trip. Probably wouldn’t return for this reason alone which is a shame.

Nice Riad interior. Bit further in than some others so can be a little confusing to get to first. Nice rooftop area.

The Riad Viva is one of the “grande dames” of Sidi Mimoun. A lovely place in a great area of Marrakech. I suspect it was built in the early years of the 20th century. It has a very elegant 1920’s vibe. The floor plan is very well done. The finishing is luscious and luxurious. Lots of hand-cut zellij tile work. Amazing hand-carved plasterwork and natural woodwork. Gorgeous tan colored marble on the floors throughout. After close to 100 years, it’s still the best of the best. The staff is polite, friendly and efficient. They are lovely. I can’t say enough good things about this Riad, and I highly recommend it.

My friend, Malin, and I spent 3 wonderful nights at Riad Viva, and our experience was truly delightful. The genuine warmth and hospitality of Meriem, our gracious host, Amine, and everyone from the Riad made us feel warmly welcomed and completely at ease. We particularly appreciated the flexibility of early check-in and late check-out.
The riad exudes traditional Moroccan charm with its intricate design and serene ambiance. Each morning, Amine thoughtfully prepared and served a beautifully presented breakfast that added a delightful start to our days. We especially enjoyed savoring our meals while taking in the tranquility and peace in the Riad.
Although the riad is situated a few blocks from where cars can access, which can make transporting luggage a bit challenging, Meriem arranged taxis with great efficiency to smooth our journey. She also offered excellent recommendations for local attractions and arranged massages, ensuring a thoroughly relaxing experience. This location contributes to the riad’s charm, offering a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle.
The attentive care and thoughtful touches from the staff made our experience exceptional. As this was our first trip to Morocco, we couldn’t have asked for a better introduction.

Had a great stay at this Riad, beautiful room and building. Generous breakfast and the staff Ahmed took really good care of us. The only complaint I would have is that the internet is very weak in the room.

We had a wonderful stay at this riad. It is a little far away and hard go find at night.
Ahmed's kind nature and professional service was a huge highlight. Thank you Ahmed for all your help especially wjem greeting us and calming us down with some tea when we got lost on our arrival. I would recommend this place mostly if Ahmed is working there.

Friendy staff. Cute and quiet place to relax after a busy day out. One thing missing (for us — coffee lovers) was no kettle in the room. But you can ask for one if you want, like we did.

I had an extremely poor experience at this hotel, unlike anything I've encountered at any hotel in any country. On the morning of my stay, I realized I had mistakenly booked for the previous night, and the payment had already been processed. However, I did not utilize any hotel services, including breakfast, public areas, or bed cleaning.
Despite the booking error, I went to Riad Viva to discuss with the front desk if I could either book a room for the current night at a discounted rate or access some services. The front desk staff were extremely rude and informed me that since my transaction was complete, I was no longer their guest. When I asked if I could get a partial refund or use some services since I hadn't used any, the staff bluntly stated that I was no longer their guest and could not enter Riad. They said, "you will not get any room, any money. " I felt I was treated very unfairly.
Despite my attempts to communicate further, the staff simply told me to contact Agoda. I would never recommend anyone to stay at this Riad and risk experiencing the same awful treatment I did.
This Riad is also in a terrible neighborhood, where there are ruins that collapsed after the earthquake.

What a special find. Lovely Riad, rooms are clean and everything is beautifully decorated. The plunge pool and roof terrace is a welcome relief from the city.
Redouane is such a credit to the business. Nothing is to much trouble, he offers plenty of advice and insights, hints and useful tips. He really makes the stay!
Breakfast is really tasty and the homemade yoghurt, the best Ive eaten. Evening meals are hone cooked and delicious. I will be back.

Our stay was an absolute dream! We were here on vacation and the riad was amazing. The staff was very friendly, the room was comfortable and clean, and the food was absolutely amazing! We booked a couples hammam and a massage and both services were great. Communication with management was amazing and will definitely come back to visit!

The riad is lovingly and very tastefully designed. It is surrounded by the royal palace, Mamouniahotel and a historical monument and therefore accessible only from the southwest. There are only riads and locals here, it is wonderfully quiet at night, even during Ramadan. We had one of the suites, so we could cross-ventilate at night, which was very pleasant. There was also soft music from the Mamounia from there some evenings. The candelight dinner was delicious, the breakfast good. The roof terrace is very nice, with a view of the park. There is a small, clean pool for a little cool down or for kids. Radwan and the women crew were very friendly and extremely helpful in any situation. It is an unobtrusive but family atmosphere. The riad is very centrally located, almost everything is within walking distance. Since the walk in the narrow alley with the luggage is a bit laborious, the hotel or the cab driver had organized a man with cart to bring our heavy suitcases to the hotel. On departure this was not possible because of the early time, Radwan took over a suitcase. Thank you for a great week! You should invest in a stronger Wi-Fi router, which is not expensive, but brings a lot of comfort.

After emails calls messages I do not get any answer for the refund of a stay canceled (in compliance with the rules) following the covid. I think that the establishment is not serious and that I will at least be able to have an answer to my questions it is easy to cash the money. Misleading advertising! Attention⚠️

Instalanciones clean and pleasant, a place recreated to the arab culture, the best the receptionist, Eduard, very attentive to everything.

High quality RIAD (Guesthouse) in the Medina in Marrakech. Expected to please, not a Hotel with 100 rooms. It has, in fact, only about 7 rooms. This is all very familiar and cosy. The decor and ambience is very good. You only need a Taxi if you want in the Neustadt. Otherwise, everything is well within walking distance. The roof terrace is very cozy and invites you to have a Siesta with a good book in the sun or in the shade. When the taxi driver dropped out and we in the 1. Page road with our suitcases turned, we thought the taxi driver had understood us incorrectly. 2 side streets down we were really in front of a door of the Riad Viva. The way to the Hotel was really getting used to and all of the newly arriving guests, THE topic of conversation. You are laughing but went this way about it. Our room on the ground floor was big enough and clean. There were 2 little things that bothered us (a broken pillows and a wire came in from the side of the mattress). However, the bed was extremely comfortable. The rooms and the Hotel are decorated in the authentic style
All the staff were very friendly friendly and always to fulfil our desires. We got Moroccan Whiskey whenever we wanted, the team advised us on excursions, Hammam, Massage, etc. We had as guests never feel as we would or as if you would do the work gladly. (We know, unfortunately, different. )
We have eaten once a week in the Hotel. Here, too, we were well served. As a choice of lamb or chicken was offered.

The setting, the service, a pity no fridge in the room. Very pretty and comfortable room. Impeccable service.

Absolutely gorgeous. I would travel all the way back to Marrakech just to stay here again.
