For those considering a trip to Marrakech, we cannot recommend Riad Dar Bounouar highly enough. The riad is gorgeous, equipped with a number of amenities, and centrally located in the Medina. The greatest asset this Riad has is Oussama, the Riad manager who goes above and beyond for the guests! He ensured that we felt supported, respected, and safe throughout our stay as 3 young women in a busy city. His responsiveness and dedication to our comfort were exceptional, making a significant difference in our stay. The roads in the Medina are very small, and at some points cars cannot pass through, so you must either travel on foot or by bike to the riad's entrance. Each evening, Oussama met us at the closest parking area and accompanied us on our walk home. He also fulfilled many concierge services such as calling restaurants on our behalf and coordinating transportation throughout our stay. We are profoundly grateful for everything Oussama did for us and highly recommend Riad Dar Bounouar.
The Riad is situated through narrow alleys and at first quite confusing to get to, but once you know your way it's fine. Osama welcomed us at the Riad and was very hospitable, nothing was too much for him. Great host, we appreciate everything you & your staff did for us. Osama changed our room to a much bigger one with more beds, as the double beds are smaller than a double in the UK, pillows are soft. We got quite sick on the last day and were looked after very well. We got to stay in our room even after checkout at no extra cost, which was very kind.
The Riad has a lot of stairs so not ideal for my visually impaired son, but he coped.
The rooms are big & spacious. The Toilet ceiling in our Riad (for 7 people) was quite low so my husband and 17 year old (6ft tall) suffered a little. The breakfast was nice, especially the mint tea, but it was the same everyday. The Riad is 5 mins walk to the main Jema Al Fana square.
Be careful walking through the bazaar, especially with kids, as motorbikes zoom past at high speed in between pedestrians.
Be careful of locals offering to take you back to the Riad if you are lost as they will ask for money in the end, just use Google maps.
Watch what you eat, DO NOT eat any salad, or drink tap water (even to brush your teeth). Just get bottled water. We were so sick on our last day, non stop vomiting.
Marrakesh was nice, a few days is enough. We had a heatwave in Feb (25-32C) so were lucky!

The riad is located in the Medina, close to some of the best restaurants in the area. The place is really pleasant and clean, the room is spacious and the breakfast is good. Above all, what most marked our stay was the relationship with the staff, for their cordiality, friendliness and professionalism. In this sense, I would like to highlight the work of Oussama, who was always willing to help demonstrating a good will beyond what was expected to carry out his duties. He is involved with everything, and we had a remarkable experience thanks to him. As mentioned in the previous statement, he is the Riad and the Riad is him! We hope to return soon!
