I recommend to stay here. This is a very put together resort. The staff here is excellent and friendly. They care about you and your stay, making sure you are taken care of.

The resort was absolutely beautiful and very clean. There was so much to see between the resort and the park next door. My only problem was our first day, it was our honeymoon and my birthday. I had called ahead of time to make sure they knew and I told our concierge that morning. We were supposed to have a romantic breakfast and a decorated room but our concierge was too worried about us going to a time share presentation and we missed out on our special time there. When we told her we did not want to go to the presentation and we were going to get breakfast, they went WITH us to breakfast — it was so awkward and annoying! Then they said the presentation would only be an hour but we were gone over 3 hours! We really did not like being hassled and missing out on our morning plans. We also did not receive anything special for it being my honeymoon like we were told.

I recommend everything at this place excellent customer service everybody was very nice very polite beautiful place.

The service was absolutely amazing. By all the staff. One of our favorite servers Adrian Chan went beyond the extra mile everyday we were there. The type of people that make us want to come back!

Beautiful resort. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There was snorkeling swimming shows and lots of wildlife all through the resort. Food and drinks were great and always available. Staff was great. Petty, Albert, and Manuel from the Beach Bar were amazing. They had people coming back for their mix drink selections. Room service was outstanding. Chef from Snack Bar was awesome providing his specialty dishes every day.

Beautiful magical place and the staff are so friendly and eager to help you, nothing is too much trouble. Several restaurants to choose from to eat throughout the day with lots of choice so something for everyone. Bars also have plenty of choice and includes brand spirits. Pools and beaches excellent highly recommend.

Everything was awesome. Everyone was kind and helpful. We especially liked Jose Sanchez who worked in Le buffet, ariel and David who worked front desk at hotel 21 and also the three women who worked in the kids club. After three days in, my 8 yr old began to be a little restless with the swim and eat Routine but the ladies at the kids club made it so awesome for her. Once she went on the fourth day, she was hooked and spent the next 3 days asking for kids club. Lol Only thing I can recommend is even though they do a natural mosquito repellent it seems they miss kids club because my daughter would always come back with a whole bunch of mosquito bites after being indoors at kids club. This place is well worth the small fortune to go.

I enjoyed my experience at the resort. Only bad thing was that I got charged double for the Wi-Fi (totally to$160) and was not able to get issue resolved before I left the resort. I cannot find contact information for the resort that actually goes through (phone numbers). Can some one please contact me back and help me address this issue and would be more than happy to raise the rating to a 5 star.

This resort was very beautiful and clean, the staff were very friendly. The resturants serve really good food especially the buffet. At night they have performances which are amazing, the lagoon has a very beautiful view and there’s even an adults only section. The bartenders knew how to make the drinks perfectly. Right next door is the Xcaret park which has a lot of activities and animals, I spent the whole day there and did not regret it. Overall this is an excellent resort and I don’t regret going.

Super friendly staff with delicious food. There are so many activities to do and if you want to go off the resort and explore the staff is very knowledgeable and facilitate everything. They have a wide range of alcoholic drinks they can make, and always deliver everything with a smile. Everyone is bilingual. We got a massage and all four people in our group decided it was hands down the best massage we have ever received. I would highly recommend the chocolate body wrap.

The Occidental is a beautiful hotel and all the staff was welcoming especially Claudia our maid and Rigoberto Perez Gutierrez one of the waiters. Hotel was very clean at all times and the animals that walk around are amazing. This hotel is suitable for couples and families. Just to make you aware that it costs 200 pesos around £10 to visit Playa del Carmen.

Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Absolutely gorgeous resort. Very well maintained. Staff was very friendly and understanding of our inability to speak Spanish. Food was amazing. Beach has a great setup. Many pools. Room was touched up and towels replaced each day. 10/10 recommend.

I could not begin to express my dissatisfaction with this resort. Staff appeared extremely disinterested in guest. Restaraunts had incredibly long wait times. Took a family of six and certainly did not get my value. Room staff was mediocre at best. Couldn’t even bring enough towels. Room had ants. We requested adjoining rooms and of course did not get one… additionally was given a handicap room one the 1st floor next to the lobby (very noisy). Everything at this resort was a money grab… so much for all-inclusive. Xcaret ticket office (although I pre-paid) was brutal. Wasted an hour of my life waiting to get my wrist bands. Xcaret office ceiling covered in mold. “Beach” was a very long walk. Resort offered free one hour of snorkeling. Yeah right. Four of us went and they only had three masks and two snorkels. Not one time during the week was I approached by pool side wait staff. Towel hut was barely staffed. When it was, employee spoke zero english. Only cool thing about this place was the wildlife… and for that I could have gone to a zoo (for a lot less money). I have been to other parts of Mexico and other resorts, but have to say that this place ruined Playa del Carmen for me. Feel awful for my kids who got to travel outside if the States for the first time. Was not the experience that I hoped for, not to mention what I thought I was paying for. Oh, and if you want Wi-Fi… that’ll cost you too!

Today is day 2 of our 8 day stay and all we can say is this place is AMAZING! If you do not know Spanish it can seem slightly nerve racking at times such as at the airport. We purchased the all inclusive package which includes transportation to and from the airport. After you get your bags and begin to exit the airport (at terminal 4) you will find LOTS of booths with LOTS of people trying to get your attention for rental cars, time shares, excursions for hotel, etc… most are wearing similar outfits and many say Xcaret. They are not your transportation. They are trying to sell you stuff. Keep walking. Once you are completely outside of the airport find platform D. There will be an employee wearing a PINK HAT and carrying a PINK SIGN they are wearing red shirt and khaki pants with the XCARET logo and the name of all the tours on the sleeve. That is your transportation. If you cannot find this person look for a huge black tour bus with the Xcaret logo. We don’t speak Spanish and could not find this person or the black bus. We were being told to go to different places. If you find yourself lost ask someone to call the hotel for you (we have Sprint and could not call the international numbers) once on the phone with the hotel ask to speak to Viviana she is the Guest Service Manager and she is so amazing! She was able to radio the employee at the airport who came to find us!

I don't even know where to begin!
My wife and I just got back from our 10 day honeymoon at this resort. My god, what a paradise! We were absolutely blown away by the love we were shown as soon as we entered the resort. We met some really great people there that we hope to travel with again. I would personally like to thank a few members of the staff at the resort. Evy and Memo (Evelyn & Guillermo) — you two were there basically every day to wish us a good morning, and to make sure we had all that we needed. This type of love an attention goes a long way and we cant thank you enough. Alex, Ricardo, and Gonzalo — Mi Familia — You guys were the life of the party every single day and I was always overjoyed to see you. The pool was never the same without you guys. While I sit here at my desk writing this review, I can only imagine you 3 are still having the time of your lives, making sure that everyone at the resort is having a blast. A special thanks goes out to Antonio (Toni) — Mi Amigo — the best server in the entire resort. Whether it was a quick dinner at Pacos Tacos, or a late night adventure for Pizza after the club, you were always there to welcome us with open arms. You made this resort feel like our home away from home. You are definitely one of the reasons my Wife and I will be traveling back to this resort. This was our first ever trip to Mexico, and I am so glad we decided on this location. I honestly could not have imagined a better Honeymoon.

Room was very comfortable and clean, A/C kept us nice and cool at night and the beds were very comfy. Grounds were very nice and staff was extremely friendly. I do feel like some corners were cut on the food, though. Breakfast was good, and a lunch at the Beach Club was good as well. Our first dinner at the Mexican specialty restaurant was not good; the fajitas weren't even made from the right meat, the quesadillas were bland and a few other dishes were just weird. Dinner at the Mediterranean place the next night was pretty decent, but our final dinner at the steakhouse wasn't great either. I suppose at the price we paid (~200 per night for 2 people) I should expect this, but the food overall was still a little disappointing.

Mario and Gonzalo the entertainment team have made our holiday we are a big group with people with special needs and the guys have been amazing with them. Can’t fault them in any way. The hotel has been amazing have gone the extra mile to accommodate us. Changed rooms without question. Cleanliness excellent. It’s a big hotel but you lose your individuality.

We did a family vacation — May 12 — 17. There were 13 of us. We requested our rooms together and you put us all in the same building. We had such a wonderful time. There was so much to see and do. Loved all the animals we got to see on our walks! I want to especially thank Julio Valdez. He took great care of us at meals and he always made the children laugh. Thanks so much Julio!

We spent April 30-May 5 at the Occidental at Xcaret Riviera Maya. The resort is very large and requires A LOT of walking. There are shuttles available that run every 30 minutes. However, who wants to sit and wait on a shuttle when you’re on vacation! To get to the restaurants, beach, any social activities there is a long walk! Although the resort grounds are very beautiful, it becomes very tiring. Nothing is conveniently located. The beach is small and the water is only about knee deep out to the buoys; the adult swimming area is about 4 foot deep, with no restroom conveniently located. The advertised snorkel area did not provide what one would expect if one had snorkeled before in the ocean. The resort hosts monkeys, flamingos and the iguanas are everywhere! However, the staff overall was very hospitable, the rooms are very nice and clean. The gift shops have reasonably priced souvenirs, however the resort will charge you a service fee to exchange the U. S. Dollar to peso’s, including in the gift shops. Therefore, exchange money at airport prior to heading to resort. The resort is attached to the Xcaret Eco Park which was a glorified overpriced zoo with some water experiences. If one is traveling with children, the kids will really enjoy this experience all though I’m not sure it’s really worth the additional expense. Overall, the resort is very pretty and nice if you like to do “A LOT” of walking! And you are NOT looking for a natural beach and snorkeling experience.

I had a fantastic time staying at this resort for a week during my birthday April into May. We upgraded to the Royal Club that they offer and it was worth the extra 900$ for sure. Our concierge Victor was awesome and went above and beyond to help us out and make our stay more enjoyable. I wasn't a big fan of my massage but the service at the spa is excellent. The food at the regular restaurants wasn't too impressive but the Royal Club was great depending on what you order. They had a new chef start the last night we were there and he made a phenomenal shrimp appetizer that was worth mentioning. The beach is pretty small but private for sure. To top it off there's wildlife everywhere and a few Mayan Ruin sites that are free to access if you stay at the resort. I'd definitely recommend this location specifically because every employee there was very polite and went out of there way to say hi to you, which is rare at all inclusives.

Superb hotel restaurants at top buffets with lots of choice cleanliness and maintenance of swimming pools, surroundings, nature rooms with animals that stroll very friendly staff always there to make you service there are no negative points.

Great Hotel, comfortable, clean, cheerful, departing, full of animals, Mayan ruins, walking trails, beautiful pools, wonderful restaurants, listening staff and a superb beach. We loved it and will come back as soon as possible!

Hotel Park, large and green area with lots of pools. It is adjacent to the ethnic park of the same name. One serious drawback: the beach is minimal.

The sea and the territory personally I did not like very much.

Stay from 21/04/18 to 05/05 at the hour or these lines are redigées I can hardly describe what happens in the rooms next to and above, catastrophic insulation.
Room service passes in the morning around 9am/9.15 am… C is great when you want to rest the more as the hotel is in the works, the saw and the Clipper act as an early morning alarm when it is not the room service the restoration is mediocre despite the actual symptahie of all the staff of the different Restaurants The Wi-Fi connection possible at the rate of 1 connection per day maximum of 1h, then you have to go to the cashier. Very very dear J in passing positive Points: pretty (although small) beach, pretty pools, and wild animals that come from time to day greet us.
I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

It's a really nice place, but would not go back. We asked for a quiet area because we were on our honeymoon and they put us between the kids area and the sports activities area with a pool in front playing loud music. The bars and food were good, although the places I preferred to eat at closed early in day. Easy to get lost at first, maps don't help much, there should maybe be a sign pointing towards the beach at least. We had a free breakfast for honeymoon but had to sit through a sales pitch from a pushy guest services person first. He wanted us to sit through an (at least) hour and a half sales presentation to get a deal on a swimming with dolphins trip. Not spending a second of honeymoon in a board room, thanks the area is very nice and o am glad we went, but next time we had that way we will look for other options.

Food is excellent! Both the restaurant theme, as the Buffet. The beach “Caleta” has a bad odor (the fault of algae, which affect the whole of the Riviera Maya and increasingly) but it is nice to the water and the temperature of the same, has two natural beaches, a behind the Mayan ruin that is small but very cute! And the other is outside the hotel, to the side of the salt-water swimming pool and depending on the wave conditions you leave or do not bathe. If you are considering it, please do not hesitate to go as it is a Wonderful hotel and can live a lovely holiday!

This place is amazing! The service (Mario Perez from the Fun Club) is exceptional. The drinks are cold and plenty! The view and atmosphere is like paradise. There are shows nightly in the lounge. They have an amazing beach area with cabanas, a water sea pool and hammocks to map in. I highly suggest coming to this resort!

We are a family of 4, 4 yr old & 2 yr old. Spent 10 days at this resort in April 2018 and had an amazing time. The resort has great food, lots of restaurants, amazing architecture and friendly staff with good service. They offer so much to do with shows and constant entertainment, games going on at the pool, Monkeys jumping on your balcony, etc etc. The Xcara park attached to the resort is endless fun for the family and you don't need to drive anywhere. Thanks For the amazing vacation Occidental! You guys do a great job.

We were last week. The service in restaurants and buffet is excellent. The people who work there too, all very friendly, always with good treatment towards the tourist. Those people who enjoy nature, it is highly recommended by its green spaces. The shows in the theatre were very enjoyable and of a good standard. We were 5 days, 3 of which we had the bad luck that we break the air and have no response from the hotel. Claimed in 6 opportunities and I tired to decide not to go back and do not recommend it for this reason. Unfortunately with the heat and humidity there is, the only way to sleep is with air. A shame. Greetings.

Great place. Really fun. At the end of the day around 6pm they have a Show. Its really nice you will enjoy it. Make sure you take good walking shoes, a hat because you will be doing quite some walking and its hot so u will need a hat. **Drink plenty of water** (bathing suit, &Towle if you plan to get in the water).

The hotel is great! There is lots of wildlife such as iguanas, monkeys, and fish. The snorkeling is one of the best parts of the resort. You can go right off the beach. All of the workers and entertainment staff are nice and polite. Mario was very friendly and gave us information about the shows and activities. I would definitely come back.

Very good hotel. The staff is very nice, the food in the buffet and restaurants are very rich and the pools nice. We had fun playing volleyball beach with the professor, Mario.

Excellent service of the hotel, from the reception, waiters, cleaning staff, etc, all served with a great kindness and always with a smile, the rooms very comfortable, the view amazing and in terms of restaurants and bars, if you have a package with "All inclusive" you can choose to take your food in any and the taste and care will always be very good. The hotel is designed for rest and relaxation, so do not expect an environment with lots of celebration and noise. 100% recommended.

Best trip we've ever had! I didn't know there would Spider Monkeys at the resort! They come out of the trees. Loved the room and River boat ride to the park. The park next door was amazing! Be prepared and get antibiotics before you go to take while you are there and bring Pepto tablets. That helped. We only ate cooked foods. The staff works very hard to please you so bring a lot of cash for tips.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the airport and 40-50. Excellent service.

We stayed here for a week (my boyfriend, another couple, and me). The food was average, same thing for breakfast and lunch. The staff is all super friendly and helpful at the buffets. It all starts tasting the same after a while though. The concierge at the front of each building is really only there to try and get you to listen to the vacation club pitch aka sell you a time share. It gets awkward every day walking by and saying no. The rooms were clean and we'll maintained, I wish housekeeping came a little earlier in the day, we had to wait until she was done around 4p, no time for a siesta during the day. Pools and property are huge, we spent most of our time at the beach/adult only natural pool. Not every bar always had Corona or Corona lite, you have to walk around and beg for extra beers to bring back to your room. There are monkeys that swing around the buildings which is pretty cool. We had a good time but nothing really impressive, it's what I expected from a value all inclusive.

First I want to start off by saying this hotel is absolutely beautiful I just planned my wedding through them and we just got home yesterday everything was far beyond expectation huge shout out to Melanie and luz in the wedding department we have been planning for almost a year and when the day finally came everything it was absolutely perfect I couldn’t of asked for a more beautiful meaningful wedding. our rooms were perfect everything was super clean. Our girl that took care of block 20 was so great! I feel bad because I can’t remember her name but it starts with an “R” we were in 20104. Room service was always on the ball. Every day that we were there there was some new addition to our room in terms of a fruit basket for a bottle of tequila or some Champagne.

I have mixed feelings… The dinners are excellent, the pool is beautiful and the concept is great; Unfortunately the rooms smell of humidity, only one member of the entertainment team was attentive, the children's club did not like my kids and the worst: the image of the sea is a hoax… there is no reef for snorquelear and instead is full of sand In addition, in the pool where you could see some fish is exclusively for adults which annoys me enough and q the hotel is not exclusively for adults. Hopefully improve xq is not cheap and promise a lot Q do not meet.

Excellent attention, really nothing negative to say, everything was excellent, the rooms amazing, the attention at reception and in the information area was excellent. Yonathan and Sabine excellent employees and explained everything very well. I recommend them.

My best friend an I were fortunate enough to have a stay at this fabulous resort. From the very beginning everything was awesome. Claudia from Social media was a tremendous help answering questions and assisting us when ever needed. She was awesome. She helped us obtain the "UXX" package for the Ecological park next door, what a deal that was! We went to the park almost daily, we swam in the underground rivers, we bought the "Passport" at the park, got the stamps and was given a free T-shirt. The park is amazing, always something to do. We had massages done by Juan and Joshua… those two have magic hands. We were so relaxed after that we slept by "our" beautiful pool. Our room was perfect, had everything we needed, the housekeeper was very thorough, our room cleaned every day. The concierge in our building was always available to answer questions. The food was very good, the sea food restaurant had the most delicious chicken … we went back 3 times! The steak restaurant could use some improvement… the steaks looked nothing like the picture. All in all, I give this resort 5 stars, the setting is in the jungle with animals everywhere, we watched the monkeys every day. We would definitely go back to this amazingly beautiful resort.

Great place to rest! The best thing is their facilities and the service. All very kind.

I stayed at this resort for two weeks for my honeymoon. For the most part I enjoyed this resort. The buffet had very good food, it was better than the specialty restaurants and the waiters in the buffet were great. HOWEVER, I had personal belongings stolen out of my room while being cleaned. When we asked house keeping about it they claimed to not know anything about it. I talked to multiple different people regarding this issue and no one ever resolved it or even took the time to look into it. We were told when we left they would investigate the issue and get back to us, but we never heard back from them. Our room was locked, only the maids would go in to clean the room. After we had property stolen, we opted out of the housekeeping for the rest of our stay. If you would like to keep all of your belongings, I would NOT recommend this resort.

Excellent place, the only thing that would have to improve would be the Sonora Grill, few waiters and the meat to better train the cook in the terms of cooking (well-cooked, 3/4) since the only one that looks good is the crude term. That's why I don't give the 5 stars.

Place is excellent! There is always something to do and staff around to keep you entertained. Mario came and played volleyball and rocked it. Suck a great time. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great time down in Mexico. :)

The truth for the cost, it's worth a lot. Clean, good facilities, good treatment and the food is pretty good (except the juices, they are very artificial). Don't forget to go to the Asian restaurants, Italian, etc. It's worth a lot.

Had a wonderful time here. The food was better than any other all inclusive I've been to. Ingrid was a ton of fun to hang out with, whether it was Bingo or Baci or jumping around at the foam party. Joshua and Nancy from the spa were gloriously welcoming and gave us a fantastic couples massage. The last three days we were there, our room didn't get cleaned but that was our only complaint. 9/10, would go again.

The food was amazing and the hotel staff was spectacular. The food was second to none. And as an added bonus they were monkeys that literally ate bananas out of your hand I cannot wait to come back. I was never board due to the amazing entertainment provided by Mario Perez! And let’s not forget the volleyball… Epic!

The hotel and the staff was absolutely wonderful. Fun club Mario Perez (the best Mario), Angel, Diana (from the Spa), Arturo, and Joshua especially! Everyone was so friendly and it was a home away from home. The food was wonderful and had a ton of options (shout-out to Paco's Tacos and Ramon), which was nice especially for us because my wife and I are vegans. The beach and the pools are gorgeous and wonderfully maintained, as are the grounds and the wildlife. Our honeymoon was unforgettable because of this location and the wonderful people in it. Would absolutely return here anytime!

Not only is this amazing Resort located in the jungle with a private Bay and beautiful pools, grand lobby, delicious food, and well appointed\private hotel rooms with decks, but also staffed with people who enthusiastically wanted to make sure your vacation was exceptional! ALL were so friendly, helpful and happy to "go the extra mile! " I must give shout outs to Jennifer P & Alan M at the Front Desk, Fun Club Ingrid G. And Gerardo U. Bellboy Diego, Rosa Isabella in House Keeping, Concierge Rafael Castro, Henry & William in the Ticket Center, Giselle in Customer Service, ALL the professional photographers on staff and ALL the PRODIVE team of instructors, Dive Masters and sales staff! Wow! This is the place to go if you want a real vacation with lots of choices and great service!

Good hotel, nice rooms, good food. The beach could tolerate a little more sand. Nice pool area. Especially the adjacent park Xcaret is great. Many leisure options.

This hotel is totally fantastic, it's basically a city within a jungle. There are animals all over and places for mccaws to land. They can be a little annoying in the morning but they're great for photos. There's a shallow river that runs through the middle of the hotel full of fish. The hotel provides pellets that you can feed to the fish. The service at the hotel is excellent and the food is great. One thing that you'll have to bring is close-toed shoes as there is a dress code for the restaurants at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it's right next to Xcaret and you get discounts to the park and it's activities!

This hotel is very beautiful and interesting. It was completely different to what I thought. It is like being hosted in the jungle. Many animals and lots of nature. All I loved. If I could improve something, I would like to improve on the brand and type of juice they use for their cocktails. I tried several different cocktails and there was one that I was able to finish. Known as if they had much Splenda or something like that, it leaves a taste very bad. After that it would not change anything. But as it is a hotel all inclusive, and I was on vacation, I would have liked to be able to enjoy a bit of alcoholic beverages because I do not like beer. The service was spectacular. All of the staff were very friendly and very helpful. Always with a smile and willing to help in anything.

This has been my fourth time here and I enjoy it a lot. There’s so much to do and I never get bored. My favorite part would probably be the pools because I love swimming a lot. The employees are very nice and helpful. I met Valeria at first club and she’s was very friendly and introduced me to a bunch of the fun activities to do here. I know that I will definitely returning in the future and I recommend it to anyone trying to make a decision.

Absolutely loved this resort. I surprised my wife for our 1 year anniversary and she loved it. The food was great and I've been to other all inclusive, paid more money and the food was good at best. Everyone is nice and service was good. I really don't have any complaints. The rooms were clean. Plenty of entertainment and lots to discover. My favorite thing about this resort is the area is preserved. It has just about everything from snorkeling, relaxation, games, clubs and beach. The beach is man made but if you swim up you get open water and their are many fishes. Just be careful with everyone trying to get you to buy a timeshare or vacation package. Will be back!

Please, I beg of truth to wash those towels they give in the common areas (that's sad so much luxury and poor hygiene), food at the restaurant of the beach is something last, one more thing stop harass with that of selling memberships is very annoying (the worst of my stay in this hotel), if you give a good service and improve the food there would be no need of so much harassment, wrong very wrong. Seriously this hotel is beautiful but people don't know how to treat the customer to return, change their strategy are losing customers. By the way there is 1 lord that attends first to rolan in the various bars, by God, I'm your fan!, excellent service and very good cocktails, the only one who gave a 5-star service, the bad thing was that I did not ask him his name.

It's a nicely built hotel with a great jungle village concept. Unfortunately the staff lacks customer service training specially in the restaurants and bars. There is a small bay where ocean water comes in but there is no beach as one would usually expect. My wife and me were offered a free upgrade upon arrival which was nice, and I don't know if it is like this in all rooms but in our room which was in the premiere class which is for member only, the bed was not king size as it's usually the case when you go to a Hotel of this sort, it was a double bed. All in all my recommendation would be to spend a bit more and go to better hotel, the difference is not much in price but what you will get for your money is.

Lovely place, top location, unfortunately the food and drinks leave much to be desired, the staff is attentive but the service is different to national, there is a preference for the foreign. The cleaning service of room is regular, do not leave towels enough. There are better hotels, for the service of course.

This place rocks. I took my mother for a little getaway from Cold Canada, and even it was rainy season we had sun every single day! The hotel is perfect, room service was top class, no problems with missing items or anything like this! No violence on the reserve, people are very friendly! Big selection of food — Mexican, Asian, American, Italian etc. I want to mention the entertainment team — those ladies and guys are super friendly, always offer cool activities like volleyball, water stretching and Aqua aerobic, beach games, foam party, dancing! They will always help you with finding your way around the resort etc.

Without a doubt such an amazing experience. The beach, pools with all the activities following it. The bar and the food was exceptional, definitely coming back to this resort. You need extra days to truly take advantage of this hotel. The music and the vibes was definitely a plus but most importantly the employees. Thank you to Crystal Hernandez from the entertainment team that went beyond her way to seriously help up plan something last minute when we were ready to go to bed. Definitely looking forward to my next trip back here! Thank you again for making my trip one of the best ever.

Good place! Only thing I would change is there is no beach. But what they have made is good. I just like looking out to sea and hearing waves. Food is good. Rooms are great. Excellent staff. Entertainment is good. Mario is super friendly.

You must come to this resort. The staff are the nicest people and go out of the way to make sure you have a good time. Look for cristal Hernandez and Giovanni for tequila volleyball and archery. Cristal will kick you butt with a bow. The food is great and the resort is too big to see in one day so plan to stay for at least a few. A beautiful terraced beach makes for great relaxing and the theater has a different show every night. Come and enjoy!

I'm not sure where to start! This hotel was AMAZING from the moment you set foot in the lobby. The rooms were so clean and spacious, the food was unbelievable with sooooo much choice, the pools were so much fun and the staff could not have do anymore for you. In particular, Mario Perez from the fun club was brilliant. He entertained us everyday in and around the pool and was a real credit to the hotel. Mexico is an amazing place to visit and we will definitely be back! Bye for now :-)

Hotel is amazing. Rooms are very clean, with comfy beds and a well stocked mini fridge. The staff at the Fun club are great and organise lots of great activities for all the family. From foam parties to aerobics, there is always something to keep u entertained. A big shout out to Mario Perez who has been brilliant with our kids and who taught them some Spanish too! Good restaurants, always something to chose from, especially Paco's Taco's and the Pizzeria. Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the Occidental Xcaret and would highly recommend this hotel.

The food is good, the beach and the pool is beautiful and the staff is perfect as for example: Ingrid. It's a great hotel.

I am staying at this resort for 7 nights, and this resort is excellent choice. Compare with other 5 stars resorts, I like this is so much better. Their food is so fresh, and customers service is outstanding. Very close to North America standards. Staffs are very well trained, extremely friendly. Resort is well maintained, although I see some water leak on ceiling, overall no complain. Besides it is next to Xcaret Eco Park, even though 10 minutes away by foot, while can see lot of species and enjoy the easy trail. I feel I am living in jungle. This resort is big enough to make me hiking 10K even day, I enjoy to stay here so much. There are some live band music at noon and evening. I highly recommended to stay in this resort. Once small thing is I didn't realize there are dress code in few restaurant. Require men to wear long pants to go for fine dinning. Lucky they are some store inside the resort, so I can get a long pant. Also the human made Beach is awesome, noatter how big wave the ocean is, after the net line the beach is always calm. Small children will have no problem to snorkeling in beach and see fishes. I highly recommend to get the unlimited Xcaret access pass, so you don't have to rush yourself for activities. Can enjoy the park and come back to resort for buffet break, lunch and dinner.

Great Hotel Sunshine and Tequila. Good food. Several swimming pools available. Special Mention to Super Mario of the fun club who gave us the information about the show and to Maria who speaks French and who helped us a lot for all our steps.

Just got back from our trip to the occidental xcaret hotel in Riviera Maya and had the most wonderful time. I can't praise the staff enough for all the effort they put in to make their visitors feel at home and happy. The restaurant staff were so polite and always had a smile on their face which creates a happy environment. The representatives Grant and Eloise are simply amazing and so helpful. The entertainment team are the best I've ever come across, I laughed everyday thanks to these lovely people such as Mario, Victor, Luis, Valeria and the entire team. This was my second time visiting this hotel and it was such an amazing trip; it ticked every box. Will certainly be coming back to this amazing resort and highly recommend it to everyone!

I cannot begin to describe how much I love this place. The food is fantastic with plenty of variety, there is plenty to do during the day, and the staff are incredible. The waiters are friendly and patient, reception staff are so helpful, and the staff in my block of the hotel would actively go out of their way to make sure I was OK and that I had everything I needed. The entertainment team are fantastic with so many activities during the day; Mario and Luis were particularly ready to get everyone involved with their go to attitude and their enthusiasm. The rooms were incredible with an amazing team of cleaners who keep the rooms to the manner of which we've become accustomed. On the whole I could not praise this hotel enough and would love to come back next year. As previously stated, I cannot praise this hotel and their staff enough, and I cannot recommend it enough.

We spent an exceptional week in this resort, the rooms are common and without great luxury but clean. The pools are beautiful and clean. The buffet is incredibly furnished, the restaurants varied and the service impeccable. The bars are nice. Only downside, a tiny beach.
The resort boasts a pleasant architecture with a nice atmosphere and a very accessible nature. Do not hesitate!

Went here for honeymoon November 2015 — looked incredible in the pictures but I can only assume it was when it was first built! Cost over £2500 for us to stay their for a week. Was told "a minor pool you wont notice was closed" but was actually the largest pool in the hotel that had the only pool seats which I was particularly excited about. Staff were good to be fair. Would stay here again for a normal run of the mill holiday but we left with a sour taste in our mouth when we were expecting the holiday of a lifetime. Food was very average at best, exactly the same choice everyday which gets very laborious very fast. The "specialty" restaurants are really the same as all the other food. Nothing particular special. Needs a lot of money spent to get it up to spec.

Me and my partner chose Occidental Grand Xcaret as our first holiday abroad from the UK in October 2015 with the Unlimited Xcaret Experience through Virgin Holidays. An absolutely fantastic resort right in the Jungle and a 5 minute walk into Xcaret. All the staff we spoke with were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Thank you to Sergio who met us at the airport and welcomed us to Mexico for the first time! Great range of food. Great entertainment and lots of attractions and tourist spots all in the local area. We had a 90 minute 'Mayan Massage' at the resort Spa… wow! Overall, this hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere with a mix of activities for every age. There are Mayan ruins within the grounds, wildlife roaming around, a beach area with loungers and several pools to chose from. One of the pools had music, games, various entertainment and even self serve burger/hot dog stall, other pools are quiet and relaxing, surrounded by trees. One day we were in the pool watching Monkeys jump through the trees! The only negatives we experienced during our stay was that the main pool was closed due to maintenance the whole time we were there however this was not a problem with several other pools available. Besides, they have to do maintenance at some point! Also, it is a jungle so there are more bugs, be sure to pack repellent etc The Wi-Fi could be cheaper… but you do get some free access near reception area.

Shoot Tequila at underaged children. Rooms look nice but nothing works: TV is fuzzy, outlets dont work this fridge and phone chargers dont work. Do not bring children oh and if you speak spanish you are treate like a king.

Stayed here for a week on my honeymoon and never wanted to leave. Staff is so friendly. Weather is gorgeous. Mayan ruins right on site. Very exotic yet safe. So many different things to do… top notch spa, 5star food. Many different bars and pools throughout resort. Access to the archeological park. Something to enjoy for all ages. Romantic yet also ideal for college spring break or even family vacation.

This isn't a hotel where we will stay. It is very nice, and you can not go to Playa del Carmen walk, and bike it would be too dangerous, the only road linking the 2 points is their national hyper frequented by buses and trucks. Either you have rented a car (our case), or you take a taxi.
The structure of the hotel itself is good. If you book through an agency or you go through internet, you will receive a small invitation promising you a welcome gift. Once in front of the sane person give you little welcome gift, she begins to explain as you passed through internet/agency, you have could not benefit from the great rooms that are reserved only for people who book directly at the hotel and who are therefore considered VIP… When asked about price, the promo that was done we went through agency the person simply replies that everything is negotiable but to go directly through them. Amazing! We you punished because you're not gone live and it puts you in the least friendly part of the hotel…
The beach is mini-mini and sand under the water, past the 5 m of the shore, is muddy… it does not dream.
Otherwise, the staff is very friendly and smiling, the correct animations for those seeking entertainment and there is even a quiet pool (great! ) If you escape the noise and animations.
You can see animals in the gardens of the hotel in the wild (monkeys, for example), Flemish pink…

Spent a week here with my family and loved it. We stayed in building nineteen and was so close to the swim up bar. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The food was good, could have been a little more flavourful but that would the worst thing about this place. (but keep in mind I'm in the process of becoming a red seal chef, my standards are high. ) The building was clean and the cleaning staff helpful and friendly as well. Over all I loved it and are already planning a trip back for 2019 with some of my friends to show them the wonderful resort. As well as the beauties of Mexico.

Spent a week here with my family and absolutely loved it. The food was good and the whole resort was very clean. We took our 10 month old and everyone catered to him, it was great! The staff in the resort was friendly, helpful, and spoke English which really helped. The only downside is that there isn't a long beach to walk, but we didn't mind and actually preferred the cove they had due to its privacy and calm waters. I would absolutely recommend this resort for anyone looking to vacation in the Cancun area.

My family pay much for this hotel and we were treated as if we were up.
The attention is very poor. The truth is that no location and much less recommend to my family. I've known many hotels and this disappointed me. My experience is only greetings.

I just stayed with my Family at this hotel. And I honestly did not meet my expectations for anything, the simple rooms smell very much moisture in the almoadas and savannahs, from the first day that we arrived the toilet was clogged, the phone in the room never served was broken and never fixed. Make an expense deposit in a hotel which, to me, does not JUSTIFY THE COST. I never come back to host with You. Rating sale sobrando: I give them a ZERO.

Fantastic hotel, facilities are magnificent and a great service and kindness, thanks to its private beach, we got rid of the pest algae that I had, pretty good food, although as he sticks to indicate that they didn't let us take anything, or fruit, for breakfast because they came to fetch us at 6:00 AM and from 2:00 until 7:00 there was no service, I think this is something that they should fix, because that is a lot of people that make excursions.

My family and I had so much fun!, I think that I will never forget my stay in the Hotel. The services are very good in addition to the staff and the First Club this amazing. The views are incredible and I think my only dislike is that the rooms that we ask of the First Club that had, so to speak 2 in 1 rooms, were arrinconadas on the first floor, and with a view to a part of the hotel there was no one. But to that we didn't give it much importance because what else is the least of it!

I quite liked the hotel, 100% of the staff is friendly, everyone is always with a smile and the greeting, immense the hotel which is not the end of the tour, visitors meals served buffet style are good, and the restaurants for the nights are better!
