Stayed here last Spring. Best place ever if you are staying in Playa Del Carmen. I'm about to book another trip for this coming Spring. Beautiful layout. Great spacious rooms. Nice pools and close to everything.

Beautiful hotel, and excellent staff. They really make you feel at home and make sure you enjoy your stay. I had an issue with our unit, and Felicia at front desk worked hard and upgraded us to a nicer end unit.

Very well thought out design, stylish interior, situated in a chilled out area of Playa Del Carmen. Close to everything, shopping, restaurants. Right on the beach beach in a cove.
Suitable for family’s, couples.
Highly recommend spending the extra money to stay in the penthouses.

Great experience overall. Stayed in one of the penthouses. We had our own private grill, hot tub, couches, etc on the roof. Breakfast on the beach was dope! If you include breakast in your reservation, you have the option to choose between 3 different location. And it's a real breakfast lol. I also had a private chef who cooked an authentic mexican cusine which was phenomenal. The chef was afforadable. The staff members were great. The best location (walking distance to everything) I'm already planning my next trip there!

Sadly we booked this location for a month not knowing how poorly run it is or what the "beachfront" meant. The elevators are always broken. I was trapped inside with my 15 month old when it broke one of the many times. Despite pushing the alarm bell no one came to help. My husband had to pry open the doors for us to climb out. Our water was turned off twice. The beachfront is not a place to play or relax. We spent most of the time in Cozumel and wasted what we spent on this place. Never again!

Our stay was wonderful, views were gorgeous and staff was amazing ❤️ we unfortunately weren’t able to go back this year due to some last minute issues and lost our flight, but management was understanding and worked with us through the whole ordeal. We want to thank Condo Hotels and Ken! for trying their best to accommodate us and for making us feel like valued guests. We just want to say how much we truly appreciate all the help ❤️ we hope we can go back and see you guys again sometime soon ✨❣️

Absolutely love this place. Penthouse 325 was amazing, the service and staff at the beach bar was great as well. Can’t wait to come back.

Can't blame the Hotel for the bad weather. They were very accommodating despite the Clement weather had a great time and the food was good.

Beautiful decor, apartments fully equipped and luxury, comfortable. Beautiful swimming pool and social areas. Very well located. Excellent cleanliness in rooms. Very good deal. It would improve the beach and hot water in rooms.

We were in the restaurant and they were very attentive, when we just ate we moved to the front with ocean view and we used hammocks. We loved it. We highly recommend it. We even enquired about the hotel of the good service received.

El Taj is a special resort. Buddhist themed designs, relaxing beach cafe, wonderful spa facilities, discounted deals at tip restaurants… it is hard to find anything bad to say about this place. For a group, try the penthouse with the rooftop hot tub and barbeque grill.

I loved the hotel very comfortable, great facilities and service. Very rich food and super nice pool area. Very good security team. We had an inconvenience and very kindly attended to us. The front desk staff is super friendly. Very clean and nice areas. Family atmosphere. Delighted I would certainly return maybe the only inconvenience is its closeness to the dens, a little music in the evenings but nothing unbearable will continue like this.

Nice hotel, but relaxing impossible right at the moment due to noisy construction starting at 7am. Room that we had should not be offered and no solution to change room was provided.

I have condo 316 booked for my family and I on June 30th — July 7. I must admit that after reading these reviews I'm very concerned about the construction. It is a 4 bedroom unit and I was hoping to have an amazing trip, we're going all out for this, Maybe we should have booked the oceanfront front buildings but they don't seem to offer 4 bedroom units in the beachfront buildings. I'm worried. I'll post an update about how it goes. Concerned Dad.

Not staying here, but had dinner at the beach club. Food was delicious, however be careful when ordering any fish item as it may not say it is raw, and would be served in sushi manner. It was great, small, but taste was good. They charge per glass for soft drinks/tea, gets pricey… there are better places to eat, but nice atmosphere, service good, which brings me to fact tip IS included in bill! Not disclosed, so yeah just talk myself into dropping a star from original review.

My family's trip here, was, in short, a disaster. The five star reviews that are displayed on this page may have been accurate once, but certainly do not apply to this "beach resort" any longer. To start, following the hurricanes this year, El Taj's beach washed away. Of course, they cannot control this. But instead of lowering prices and making potential guests aware of the fact that there is virtually no beach, they false-advertised the resort and used old photos of a beautiful beach resort that no longer exists. As if this wasn't already disappointing enough, we were lied to and scammed by the hotel's concierge. I booked a 46 foot boat for a nice, relaxing cruise equipped with snorkeling gear. The concierge showed me a wonderful picture of said boat, and my family could not have been more excited. We arrived to the marina the next day to find a fishing boat. This boat and the one that the concierge showed me had absolutely nothing in common besides their ability to float. We did not board this boat, and asked for a refund. We are in the process of speaking to the hotel management about compensation, as our new years eve day was absolutely ruined because of an entirely unprofessional concierge. So far, they have done little to help us aside from refunding our basically scammed money. I am utterly shocked by the lack of quality service that we have received across the board at El Taj, and I strongly recommend avoiding this resort.

This hotel is top of the line. I stayed in one of the penthouse suites. It came with a private rooftop balcony and Jacuzzi. Everything you need is within walking distance of the hotel. I cant wait to return for another stay!

The location is perfect, near all the stores/restaurants/bar. We had free parking for our rental car, and were in a 1-hour radius from multiples amazing cenotes, Tulum and Cancun. …

We are huge fans of the El taj Group! They have 4 condo style hotels in a 4 block radius and you can't go wrong, the owner Jack is on site and loves the place you can tell by the level of service he and his staff provide, as well as the attention to detail in the design and maintenance of the hotel. The Rooms are large especially the ones on the top floor. The roof top patio is fantastic with sweeping views and bbq's that guests can use. There are clubs 1 block away that blast music all night long which depending on the hotel and room you may hear, you may want to ask about that before booking.

Amazing place, service and luxurious accommodations… we had a great ocean view and access. We were only two blocks from 5th, where all the shops, clubs, mall and amazing restaurants. Very safe… military, Navy and police security all around our hotel and downtown… we were six ladies (sisters and cousins) from Texas, Los Angeles, and Colima. We had a great time and highly recommend this place for families with children and adults only… either way a stay we will never forget! Only thing that I didn't like was that the beach was not a swimming beach… lots of boats parked but we walked down the coast and enjoyed the beach there!

This is an ongoing review, please read I'm writing a pre-review. The property looks lovely and I'm really looking forward to my stay. My problem so far is the fact that since I booked my stay I've recieved 2 calls trying to get me to purchase a buy-one-get-one-free day in an ocean front room "due to the noise from the construction next door. " I am now worried about if there is truly that much noise or is this a marketing ploy to get me to pay for an upgraded room? If it is that noisy to warrant a "special offer" then why not post this before I booked the room!? If I cancel the cancellation fee is about $2, 400, 00 out of the $3, 000.00 I spent. I don't want the stress of having to worry about my room being noisy or that I will be put in a room close to construction just because I didn't buy the special offer. I'm looking forward to updating this post after my stay and very hopeful for a fantastic time at the El Taj.

The apartments are all spacious and cared for in detail! If you wish you can request the daily housekeeping service as well as you can order breakfast/lunch and dinner in the room from the restaurant below which makes excellent Italian and Mexican food, plus a great Peruvian style sushi! The staff is very nice, the pool always very clean… pity that the sea in front of the condo is almost always full of smelly seaweed and fishing boats that almost prevent access to the sea!

I have stayed at El Taj many times. I can say they are hands down the best service oriented hotel in Playa Del Carmen! Rooms: Gorgeous and of a good variety. You can choose from a one to a three bedroom. Be cautious of renting from other sites versus direct as they have a sister hotel across the street which is NOT ocean front. I prefer to book direct with them. Food: Fantastic and the best guacamole I have had. They will accommodate your needs without hesitation. I love watermelon water with my breakfast and everyday they made it even though it's not on the menu. Grocery delivery: I ordered some snacks and drinks to our condo. They struggled a bit but it made it right in the end. Still a great service but they need a very meticulous person doing this job. Service: Second to none. I have stayed in multiple other hotels but come back here the most because of how I'm treated.

They are not honest about what they offer in the web. There is not accessible ramp to get the office. Be careful when you book. Review carefully the e mail confirmation to see if there is in wariting what you payed for as breakfast and another amenities. The rooms are clean. Good cleaning services. Staff is courteous and trying to help. The restaurant needs more menu options. But the service is good. But be careful what you get when booking. Review all the papers. The parking is secured.

Everything about the El Taj was beautiful! I had my wedding at indigo beach and the staff and wedding planner went above and beyond to make my experience extra special! I would recommend anyone to have a wedding here. The venue was fantastic. On the flip side, our first room in the Magia condo hotel was sub-par. We were in a pent house with air conditioning that did not work and there were ladders and roach spray in the Pent House room we were staying at. We were moved to the El Taj to a one bedroom and the room was VERY nice but just not big enough for the all stuff we brought over for an extended stay for the wedding, so we were moved to a two bedroom in the Maya. The space was more suitable for us; however, there were a issues with the plumbing and our conditioner was leaking. Both of those issues caused flooding the day before my wedding and on wedding day. Moving three times in 48 hours was very stressful right before our big day; however, we were happy that they could accommodate us.

If you like EDM music in playa del carmen, this is the place to come party.

Super star place to stay in Carmen. True, the music is loud from the clubs just a block away. The music starts at about 8pm, but you'll never hear it once you close the door. The walls here are 1 foot thick. The facility is clean, service is great and fast. The area is safe and you're 1 block from 5th Ave. stay here.

My favorite place in Playa deal Carmen! Beautiful inside and out with mesmerizing views of your balcony! Great location, clean and modern apartment like suites; rooftop balconies, nice restaurant and most importantly white sanded beach right at your footsteps! Can't wait to come back there again!

Perhaps one of the best hotels in Playa. Their private beach, the staff, the location, everything is just fabulous. It's just 2 minutes away from the 5th Avenue for times when you want to enjoy the Playa night life. Can't ask for anything more. Reasonably priced and in an extremely safe neighborhood. There's enough police patrol in case you are worried about security. I personally thought it's absolutely safe. 1 tip to all travelers… when in Playa, try to pay by credit card as much as possible. Our bank gave us the best exchange rate throughout Mexico.

The hotel is like an oasis in Playa — green, elegant, with pools and plants, facing the beach. True luxury in the midst of everything.

Our family visited El Taj for a week in the beginning of May. The unit that we had was 318, it was beautiful. We had some issues with the lock, but the maintenance guy took care of it. The condo itself you can't ask for more, layout very nice, beds very comfy, jacuzzi on the balcony, just perfect. There is a lot of boats parked in the front, but if you walk two minutes down the beach it's just perfect for swimming. Our kids enjoyed both pools, but the one with a jacuzzi had a wonderful view. Everything is within walking distance, restaurants, clubs, bars, all you need is there, even Mega grocery store is very close. Wonderful place, we would definitely go back.

I spent three nights at this beautiful location during a business trip, and it wasn't nearly nearly enough time! Everything about this place was amazing. The rooms were incredible, with a private hot tub on the balcony overlooking the ocean. They were nice enough to make the whole trip worth without even taking the wonders of Playa del Carmen into consideration, but they were there too and just as amazing. Walking down 5th Ave, snorkeling in the crystal clear oceans (my first time! ), dining at the many delicious local restaurants. I could go on and on. It's crazy how much fun I had on a business trip, and definitely plan on returning once my son is old enough to enjoy it as much as me.
