Resort is beautiful, looks like it was recently revamped. Staff in general was friendly and helpful. Note that drinks are very expensive, and cocktails weren't anything special. Food was good as well. Generous buffet (we had full board), but more suited to general tastes, not much that can be called Mauritius specialities. Snorkeling was very good, wide variety of tropical fish. Beach not great for swimming (shallow and lots of broken coral), but pretty to look at!

Perfect location. Excellent beaches. Brilliant service. Friendly staff. Good food. Lovely atmosphere and facilities. All calls for an excellent stay!

Loved every minute at Solana Beach. I would however recommend that you do not go there without the ALL INCLUSIVE package. They tend to be pricey. My and my wife enjoyed the breakfast and lunch a lot. As South Africans we love the fact that we can have a go at the buffet more than once. The food however in the evenings were not always up to standard and lacked variety of flavor sometimes. the beach were always clean and the staff were incredible. Everyone were friendly and willing to help. We also enjoyed a great massage at the Spa.

One of the best resort that I have been to. Stayed in the junior suite, sea view room. The room was exceptionally well maintained. The water sport activities and facilities are also worth mentioning. Overall, this place made our tour memorable.

We loved it from the moment we arrived! The views are to die for. The staff were always friendly, helpful and some were very entertaining. We can't thank everyone there enough for all they did to make mine and my sister's experience there unbelievable. The food was delicious everyday and the service in the restaurants or at the bar were amazing. It was 1 of the most relaxing holidays we have had! We would def want to return again! We are currently back in Cape Town, South Africa, where it is freezing cold and we miss Mauritius!

Best.! I like the location my suite was Beach front… Nice maintained beach all water sports activities are just out of the door…! I had one issue… I booked the suite but by mistake I selected 1guest instead of 2 so, they charge me 50€ for that extra person per night which was very disappointing…!

Nice place where to visit Mauritius. Personnel is quite well trained and food quality is excellent. Some trouble for smokers because the bar manager think to be a policeman, barking to people in holiday who smoke under the patio but… beach is not too big, well served for water sports and shopping.

Had mixed feelings about our stay in Solana. The property is decent and most of the staff are friendly. The location is amazing too. However, ours was not a great start. For example, they have a rule that trousers are compulsory for dinner in a resort on the beach. Weird as everyone is always in casual attire all over Mauritius. While I did go to dinner in formals, my 16 year old son was wearing shorts and they asked that he go and change. Did not make sense. They do not provide even one bottle of water complementary which I find odd. They charge quite a bit for water too. While they provide water during breakfast, they charge Mauritius Rs. 100 for a bottle of water during dinner. The rooms were well maintained and the housekeeping staff was good but the rooms were old in general. There were also ants in the room. There was water dripping off one of the bathroom walls and the room smelt damp. The restaurant food was very ordinary and I thought this was the case in Mauritius as a whole till we walked into Symon’s, a restaurant next door and found the food to be fabulous. The food was very oily in general as well. The Boat house staff was extremely helpful and this prompted us to try multiple activities for the first time. We were sent a note at 3.30 pm that we need to checkout at 11 am the next day and that we could extend for a nominal fee if the room was available. I walked to the reception at 4.

Nice place. Amazing and very peaceful environment. Foods are delicious. Perfect place to visit some very special and very very quality time with your loved one. Hotel staffs are also very very helpful. One can also enjoy the activities like snorkelling, kayaking, Subscribing, Glassbottom boat ride in the resort's private beach.

We just returned home after an amazing 7days at Solana, Amazing food, entertainment and activities, A breathtaking view and I dont have words for the friendly staff. Thank you Liezel Gouws from Flight Center for recommending Solana we loved it! And I will recommend Solana to everyone.

Solana Beach Resort in Mauritius has a beautiful setup. With clean, spacious rooms and excellent service. The beach is covered in white sand and the views of the lagoon are superb. My main issue with the beach was the rocky sea bottom, that makes entry into the sea for a swim rather uncomfortable. The most enjoyable activities where snorkelling and stand up paddling. The meals where not very impressive, setup as a continental buffet offer, being rather average.

Spent memorable days/nights with beautiful scenery, and room overlooking the vast blue horizon; loved the blackjack night on Sunday; warm service from receptionists to room service maids to bartenders; satisfactory room cleanliness and housekeeping service. I would definitely encourage you to book few nights there.

Hotel located on the seafront, the staff speaks French and is very helpful. The catering is varied. The place is quite windy (East coast). The sea is good and the sun (when there are no clouds or rain), tape drive, sun cream required!

Resort deserves d five stars but 2 cut downes bcz of unloyality in words of d management… I have been charged with 2200 extra for what I hv nt even consumed Acc. To indians if u can live without good food to enjoy then its d best place…

I recommend! Good service Staff very friendly, smiling, thoughtful. Good restaurants. Varied choices. Good food in the world. Nice Bars. Nice and clean beach cleaned every day. Nice pool. Hotel without children to be quiet and rest in a superb setting. Beautiful garden and coconut trees. Run!

Our February's stay in Solana was excellent! We enjoyed every moment of it! Beautiful grounds and beaches! The best service team we have ever encountered — very helpful, friendly, hardworking, doing EVRYTHING possible to satisfy guests (the barmen wanted to bring me avocados from his home, because once I asked him for chocolate-avocado smoothie made from my own avocado, bought on the market). Management team is a bit strict with employees, but really cares about doing the place a better resort then it is (constant adoption of new ideas, conversations with the guests about what and how could be done better) The food fresh and well prepared, tasty. I very recommend Solana for a quiet, adult vocation… honeymooners and babymooners this is your spot!

The Solana Beach is a beautiful, medium-sized hotel where you will be greeted like a king/in. The complex consists of 3 houses with rooms, each with 2 floors, a reception, a building in which the restaurants, bar, wellness and sports facilities are housed, a pool and a boat rental where you can book activities. Of these activities are some free of charge such as snorkeling, glass bottom boating or trettboot driving. You can also book diving trips right next to it, all of which are subject to charges. We were here for two weeks and completely satisfied. The only thing that didn't really please us was the beach, which was almost completely underwater at the tide.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. We found the location of rooms to the beach brilliant, but that''s where it ends. 'the food in all the restaurants is not of a great standard. The service id iffy to be polite. The is zero beach service. For a four star hotel it leaves a lot to be desired. We were on a full board tariff and frankly that is a waste of money. Too many things excluded. Our reservation was also messed up on arrival and they tried to put us upstairs when we booked a ground floor room 4 months prior and repaid. Eventually they accommodated us after a lot of "discussion".

Hi guys, I'm writing from the Indian Ocean. Solana is a resort directly on the sea organized beautifully: immersed in greenery offers a holiday of pure relaxation, soft animation with great live music. Anglo-French-speaking staff and hybrid cuisine. Being the Mauritius crossing of so many ethnicities, every day the menu varies from the exotic, Creole, African with wide choice of vegetables meat and fish: all exquisite. In the package all invlusive possibility of snorkeling with glass bottom boat, canoes, umbrellas and gym with spa. To try! I would never go home again.

Wonderful place clean and spacious room all the staff qualified and attentive to the needs of the tourist.

Hotel quite okay, but by no means 4-star hotel.
Right on the beach (all rooms sea view), nothing else in the area, sandy beach at the hotel quite thin (0 — 5 meters). Overall overrated: Rooms & food overpriced, service poor, but for that are country, people & beach nice.
Wouldn't go back to Solans Beach! Only suitable for standardized package tourists who don't want to do anything with all-inclusive.

Definitely not a 4star hotel. Way too expensive for what it offers. Fixings old, destroyed and dirty. Service slow. Stuff mostly incompetent. Food average. Sadly, we spent our honeymoon there and I'm regretting it. I stayed at no star hotels that were more well maintained and cared for.

'More-ritius' lived up to its reputation. Awesome snorkeling, great weather, relaxing holiday.

Food and room okay… but not staff are dedicated and attentive to request. Overall was not that satisfied to price paid.

— Very quiet location. Don't talk about a big city or something close. (was so desired by us)
— Nice pool (albeit a bit small. But for 4 stars okay)
— Hardly any merchants on the beach.
— always adequately available at the pool and on the beach
— Possibility for sports and games available free of charge. (e. G. Tennis, table tennis, fitness room, badminton, etc. )
— Long, gorgeous beach. In both directions you can walk for miles. (unfortunately partly quite coarse, so you should wear slippers in many places. But unfortunately all over the island is normal)
— very nice and discreetly lit at night
— Buffet was tastefully not stunning, but quite tasty. Live cooking rounded things off.
Contra:
— The service seemed to me not to have been a trained staff. Many mistakes have been made. Also a simple greeting or smile was only in half of the cases in it. What a pity…
— All inclusive is unfortunately not all inclusive. We had this and many snacks or alcoholic drinks/cocktails were still not included in the price.
— the entertainment venues (e. G. Live band) were partly modest and short.

I returned from a weekend at Solana and it was just amazing over there! We are having the time of our lives the staff is the friendliest and always willing to help. The few from our room is splendind. We did the catamarang cruise with auqua next to solana for the whole day and we never experienced such a cruise its is exusite. Best to do and we had the most fun and got to see the most beautiful sights. We will come again…

The hotel is about an hour's drive from the airport and also to all other places of interest in Mauritius you always have to go very far and long. We had taken a rental car and were thankfully very flexible.
Larger towns were not there in the area. But for shopping, and also the small village.
A great excursion destination nearby is the Hindu temple in Poste de Flacq. The guide is really very detailed in explaining and speaking and understands good English.
The beach of the hotel is not very nice. On one side you can go in without needing slippers. However, the water is then also only deep to the waist.
At our time it was very windy to gusty, the water was not very clear, and it was so cold in the shade in the bikini that you don't have to cool down in the water.
Our room maid was great. Super polite and nice.
There is only one bath towel once a day. And it is exchanged between 7 pm and 10 pm (! ) in the evening. The service we found was really strange. And so late people come into the room to change the towel is not particularly nice.
The service staff at the buffet restaurant was always there immediately, but some really had hardly any English skills. In my opinion, there is also a lot of improvement in the courtesy.
Salad buffet consisted of lettuce, carrot strips and on some days there were cabbage or beetroot. So very little choice!
There were some finished salads.

The hotel is fantastic, my husband and I had a fabulous vacation, the staff is friendly, the food is exquisite, rooms are spacious, beautiful with the balcony facing the sea, air conditioned, mini bar & are cleaned regularly their house keeping is up to the point, oooh the entertainment every night it's fun-fabulous, the hotel is magnificent, it has a free Wi-Fi, swimming pool, garden, tennis court, gym, spa, bar the list is endless, all I can say is that I had a wonderful stay there are no words to express how much fun it was to be there, Thanx a lot guys keep it up and hope to see you again.

Excellent resort, helpful staff, always friendly and with a smile. With everything you could want in a vacation village. Activities at the beach and a very beautiful sea though not very deep. The only flaw if we want is animation very contained but by choice. The advice is to come from October to April it would be their season.

The Hotel and positioning of the resort is very well placed and well maintained. The resort is very well organised and the staff are generally very well mannered, helpful and welcoming. The service provided was very good and professional. However, the reason for 4 stars (instead of 5) is due to minor details. While the resort was well maintained, it was spotless. Some of the facilities were lacking a bit in terms of variety and the nightlife was very sobering and in some cases, lacking energy. But other than that, was worth the money.

We had a really good honeymoon here, the staff were first class and nothing was too much trouble for them. The buffet style all inclusive meals were varied and always fresh, the themed nights shone with the Indian buffet my personal favourite. The other restaurants on the site were also staffed well with a real personal service feel to enhance the excellent choice. The room we had was spacious and always cleaned to a high standard, the bed gave a pleasant nights rest and the air-conditioning kept us cool throughout the muggy nights. The beach is small but over all ideal for a relaxing stay, the pool area again was well maintained and the drinks service regular! The entertainment is good if you take it for what it is, do not expect Celine Dion to pop up with her Vegas show but enjoy the music and dance nonetheless! The Wi-Fi in the resort is the most stable in the bar area but stays good in the rooms and they are happy to provide extra access for those of us who travel with gadgets. Thanks to the staff for making our extensive journey to this beautiful island worth while x.

Had a great time with family. Superb room service, delicious meals, had a good body massage, son enjoy himself a lot at the mini club and everyone was very friendly. Very happy environment. Will surely have a second visit.

We have been there here from the 29th of June to the 6th of July 2015! I would visit again anytime! Great service! The best view! Everything is just perfect!
