— Very nicely designed facility
— Very nice rooms with sea view
— Rooms very well equipped (flat TV, two sinks, rain shower, large balcony, canopy bed)
— Rooms and facilities very well maintained
— Cleanliness was very much respected everywhere. Also in the rooms
— Very quiet location. Don't talk about a big city or something close. (was so desired by us)
— Nice pool (albeit a bit small. But for 4 stars okay)
— Hardly any merchants on the beach.
— always adequately available at the pool and on the beach
— Possibility for sports and games available free of charge. (e. G. Tennis, table tennis, fitness room, badminton, etc. )
— Long, gorgeous beach. In both directions you can walk for miles. (unfortunately partly quite coarse, so you should wear slippers in many places. But unfortunately all over the island is normal)
— very nice and discreetly lit at night
— Buffet was tastefully not stunning, but quite tasty. Live cooking rounded things off.
Contra:
— The service seemed to me not to have been a trained staff. Many mistakes have been made. Also a simple greeting or smile was only in half of the cases in it. What a pity…
— All inclusive is unfortunately not all inclusive. We had this and many snacks or alcoholic drinks/cocktails were still not included in the price.
— the entertainment venues (e. G. Live band) were partly modest and short. I would have expected more.
— The food was buffet style. The selection was OK, but could have been bigger too. Me more variety would have been nice.
— the cocktails were served in normal glasses, where Fanta, cola or the like is served. In addition, it was just a few fruit juices mixed. Besides a straw there was no set (e. G. Fruit or umbrella).
Conclusion:
The hotel has real potential and all the other hotels in the area I found at least visually not as appealing as the Solana Beach. It is ideal to unwind from everyday life and enjoy nature. The architectural style is also very appealing. However, especially in the area of service, entertainment and cocktails there is an urgent need for catching up.
