This is the worst hotel that I've ever stayed at. The room was dirty and not kept in good hygiene. The night staff was rude, there were people telling outside of our room all night. When I talked to the manager in the morning she told me I should have just checked out at 2 in the morning. This is durring the covid outbreak and the room was gross. I would never stay here and would never recommend that anyone else stay here either. Just garbage.

Terrible service got booked in okay they took a $300 deposit gave us a room that was covered in hair p and other people's bodily fluids offered us another room that looks the exact same we had to stay cuz it was already 10:30 11:00 at night. There was hair in the bathtub there was noise all night till about 3 in the morning there was a drunk person or a drug addict coming in and out of the hotel and instead of phoning the police they let them come in and out make a bunch of noise and then sit outside our room next to our vehicle till 2:30. The man working at the front desk didn't know what to do the second guy working at the front desk at 2 in the clock in the morning didn't do anything I will never come back here again.

Horrible service, the worst front desk is ignorant, rude, non-thinking morons.

Disgustingly dirty rooms and TERRIBLE customer service. Front desk chick “Ashley Apalak” is hands down the worst person for a job in customer service. She entered our rooms while we were out WITHOUT permission. She locked us out of our rooms. Just awful. Do not stay here. The cheap rooms are NOT worth it.

We left at 3am because my wife couldn't handle the smell. Mouldy, stuffy, dirty. We were in the room for a total of 1 hour and it was still too long. Oh, and we had to wake the checkout clerk up. No idea how this place is over 3 stars. Spend the extra $30 and go to Best Western right behind.

Terrible motel… don't waste your money, toilet leaked, they came cleaned it up then it leaked all night …. Disgusting.

Nice people, old building, not great beds. It was a place to sleep with a kitchenette but we were happy to leave too.

It was a nice place with fine rooms. I loved the baclony but the breakfast was very small. It would have been nice to have a bit more variety in the options.

You definitely get what you pay for at this place. Cheap price, cheap room, cheap services. The air-conditioner did not work very well, we had to sit next to it to feel any kind of coolness. The whole place smelled of cigarettes in the hallways. We had to go and spend an unplanned $100 for fans just to make the night a tolerable temperature for my kids to sleep. The beds were lumpy and hard. The pillows left my neck in pain. My chiropractor is going to be able to buy a new Harley after he is through with me & my husband and we just saw him four days ago. If I had the option of leaving with my $200 that is being held on my credit card available right away I would have gone somewhere else. Not happy, not returning.

Room is very dated. Could have been cleaned better. Bed was comfy enough. Our room had a small patio which was nice. Good for the cheap price.

Lived here for 13 days in May 2018 with my dog. Paid daily with cash. About 8 days in Iwent to pay and the desk clerk told me they temted my room out and I had to move to the second floor now. Staff never helped. Checked out on the 1 th. I They kept the pet deposit citing damages they could not prove other than the maids word. So in a nut shell I spent over $1000 here,, had the pet deposit taken, and was belittled by the GM when I questioned the issues concerning the pet deposit. Beware.

Im not infaver of the new system that you get two different Wi-Fi codes and they only work on one device each. Either give us the option for more devices on a code or more codes.

Love that you don't need credit card and instead cash deposit the suite was spacious with big beds however has an old kinda abandoned type feel to it the staff were also quite rude. All in all I enjoyed my stay.

Motel rather clean although I found some hairs… The sound insulation is really not good.
The breakfast offered is pretty decent for a person, like me, who eats little.
The TV doesn't work well, with a grizzled image.
The light in the ceiling does not work, which is still annoying.

Good location close to transit, room was clean. Over all a good place to lay your head for a couple of nights.

Bed is very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Toast, pancakes, cereal, boiled eggs, muffins, scones, tea, coffee and juice. Short walk to c-train station.

The staff were very friendly and informative. The rooms were set up a little strange and the TV was too close too the wall to fool around with. Good place for the price.

Typical low end Motel experience. Staff is okay, but not particularly friendly or helpful. The room was not particularly clean beds for reasonable and the facility is being slowly upgraded. You get what you pay for.

Me and my friend had a great stay at econolodge! The staff was super friendly, smoking rooms were great and without odour. A big plus side was that it was close to the train station and a local dennys. (You can get 15% off denny's when you show your motel keys). Only downside was they didnt include waffles in their breakfast hahaha.

Noise is of no concern to most staff and guests. Nice with Dennys next door!

You get what you pay for with a cheap motel… it definitely needs some updating but staff is very friendly and helpful and having Denny's right beside is a plus!

Nice king sized bed, free Wi-Fi for multiple devices. Friendly staff good location. With free parking. I got a great rate. Good location.

Decent hotel, best "budget" hotel I've stayed at. Loved the water, usually it's hard to get clean in city water. Air conditioning worked great, soft bed and pillows, and a clean room.

I have never posted a review on anything but I have to share my experience staying here for just one night!
Nevermind the front desk attendants or staff. I have stayed in many hotels and motels and I usually only care about one thing — cleanliness. I stayed here along with my wife during a long road trip from ON to BC. We stayed in cheaper and older motels on the way in small towns, whether the facilities were new or old, they were all clean and well-maintained.
We reached Calgary late at night and after we checked in our room, I decided to take a shower, and the first thing I noticed was hair in the tub — alot of it! Obviously, I was furious and on further inspection, there was hair all over the shower curtain as well. This caused me to carefully check everything around the room and the sheets in one bed were dirty as well (thankfully it was a room with two beds and the other one had what seemed to be clean sheets).
We didn't even really sleep and basically waited for sunrise so we could be on our way! The only reason we chose this hotel was because of the location based on the route we were taking through Calgary. I've stayed in Econo Lodges in the GTA a few times, and they are all 5-star worthy. This one really disappointed me. The least a hotel/motel can do is make sure all their rooms and facilities are clean. It looked like nobody really cares much about cleanliness at this location. I'd stay anywhere but here in Calgary.

You get what you pay for and this is a cheap motel in an area called motel village. The rooms could use an update as everything inside shows it's age. The bathtub is about 6 inches higher than you would expect. My room had a hot plate and a mini fridge to make it a Kitchenette. The bed was ok for comfort but the sheets were low quality and a bit itchy. Breakfast is very basic with toast cereal and muffins. It's close to some restaurants and on hwy 1 close enough to downtown, the rooms have been converted so they open inside the motel rather than into the parking lot (though the door is still there just bolted shut). If your looking for a cheap place to say the night it will fit your needs.

Acceptable sleeping rooms.

Adequate cost/benefit ratio. It has full, old, but functional services. Very good option for those who only get to sleep at the hotel.

Breakfast a little sparse, otherwise Ok.

Stayed in the two bedroom suite for the weekend. The room was larger then expected, with two large separate, private bedrooms. The kitchen was large, equipped with dining table, fridge, stove. The living room featured two sofas (one was a pullout), a coffee table, a desk with chair and a small LCD TV (32" probably). The furniture, including the bedroom and bedroom furniture were very outdated, had visible stains. The entire suite had an unpleasant odor, comparable to a damp towel. The suite was not well cleaned before our stay. The front desk agent was very polite and courteous, providing great service. Our upstairs guest apparently had either a problem with talking inside or outside the bedroom and complained multiple times to the front desk. I don't think talking outside of our suite at 7pm on a Saturday, whilst packing the car warrants a complaint.

The hotel was what I expected. It is in the centre of Calgary, fairly busy area. We chose it for just a night stay in the middle of our trip and I wouldnt stay for any longer. All the essential features in the room, including fridge and microwave. Basic continental breakfast. We stayed in a non-smoking room, but the rest of the hotel had a distinct cigarette smell which was slightly sickening in the hallways. It was exactly what we thought for a reasonable price.

The room and bed were filthy. There was hair all over the pillows as if someone had slept in the bed before we came. The sheets were stained with oil like substance. The floor was filthy with dead flies and food crumbles from previous guests. It says the hotel is smoke free yet the entire hotel/ motel smelt like an ashtray. We had to leave the window open the entire night to get fresh air. Terrible dirty place. I will never ever go to this particular location again. No wonder it's a 2 start hotel. Spend your hard earned money on a more decent place.

Pretty good for the price. Not in the nicest part of town, but certainly not bad. The room layout was a bit odd with the bathroom sink next to the front door. Also, our door made a large cracking sound every time we opened it which was worrisome. Breakfast was just muffins, toast, and coffee.

Never have I stayed at a hotel or motel that someone was so extremely rude about my 2 year old child. The lady at the front desk looked me in the eye and said "your daughter better not pee the bed because that'll cost you $300 extra" uhm my daughter wears diapers to bed. She was extremely rude. Never again will I come back to this place.

Small room and not much to offer for service, breakfast was a muffin. Wifi cut out lots.

Heat is always super high. Me and my kids could not sleep. Worst. We were told to keep window open but the windows don't have saftey locks and we're on ground floor wouldn't risk it in this shady location. Zero stars don't exist.

Service is amazing for the price point. Rooms are satisfactory. Noise level is a tad high, but this is from other guests. Location is also optimal if you'd like to be closer to the NW and not downtown.

The rooms weren't bad for the price that we paid but the front desk people were untrained and very rude. They DID NOT help at all. No receipt was given for my room when I went to leave. They told me they would email it… funny how that could happen when I never gave an email address! Don't stay there!

Was absolutely god smacked by the absolutely horrible service we experience at this hotel! We have been going to this hotel twice a year for the last 4 years. We typically stay for a week at a time. This time around we were placed in room 112 which we were told was a renovated room. I have been in some nice and not so nice hotel rooms all across the country and this was the most disgusting room I have been in! (I have been in rooms with blood found on walls). The curtains were stained and falling down the carpet was old and dirty. The air conditioner did not work properly and we were treated like we were crazy! When we asked to be moved to another room we were told the hotel was full booked hummm the parking lot was really empty for a full hotel! At last after suffering in a room I couldn't even get get into the shower because it was 3 feet off the floor! We were told we could move to another room. So we go check out the room the air conditioner worked a bit better but we as smokers in a smoking room at this point we happy until we asked if we could smoke in this room and were told no! Well that didn't work! So after staying in a dirty gross room for 4 nights we decide to check out and ask for the manager. We are treated like we are crazy and that we don't know what cold air feels like from an air conditioner! After all we were put through they gave us a whopping 5 dollars off a night! We will never return to your hotel! Your not the only hotel in calgary with smoking rooms!
