Bed&Cafe Onzo オンゾー

One of the most comfortable places I've stayed in in a long time. I appreciated the small details and it felt very homey; Reo san is very kind and thoughtful. I was lucky enough to stay for 2 nights as it suddenly rained the next day and enjoyed a relaxing, lazy day. Maraming salamat po Reo san and Torao kun 🐾, hope to come back again! 🚲

We stayed here on a rainy night while cycling the Shimanami Kaido and found this place to be very clean and comfortable. The owner was a really nice guy and has done a great job in providing lots of small touches to make the accommodation comfortable. The location is excellent too and the bunk bed rooms had everything we needed. Overall a very good place to stay in Setoda.

Stayed here during our Shimanami Kaido bike trip! Great location nearby a public bath, lemon cafes, and one of the battery assisted bike locations which made it easy for me to exchange my battery on day 2. The room was very clean and although we slept on bunk beds the beds and pillows were comfortable! The owner supplied all the amenities we’ve had at other hotels (face wash, tea, slippers). It was a great hostel at a great price. If you are much taller than 5’9”, you may find the bed and toilet room a little cramped. But at my height everything was fine. :) Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

The owner (and his kitty) were extremely kind and helpful. The room and building comes with any amenities you would need. The owner also provided a list of all of the restaurants in the area, when they close, what kind of food they serve, as well as general guides on where to go in the area. We only stayed one night during our bike ride, but I would highly reccomend staying here for 1 or more nights. One of the best rooms we got to stay at on our trip!

We loved staying at Bed&Café Onzo in August 2024 and we would love to return! Reo-san and kitty Torao-kun were wonderful hosts.
We stayed here 2 nights in order to take a rest day on Ikuchijima during the Shimanami Kaido cycling route. I would highly recommend this to take time to appreciate this beautiful area.
We stayed in the 2-person room with a bunk bed. The beds are very comfortable and the blackout curtains also help with sleeping.
The room is more like a small apartment with a table, mini-fridge, TV, AC, armchairs, a mirror, and shelves. The kitchenette is quite large and well-stocked, with a big sink, dish drying rack, dish and hand soap, paper towel, tissues, and sponges for cleaning. For cooking there is cutlery, chopsticks, ladles, tongs, chef’s knives, pans, a hot plate, a kettle, metal bowls, slotted spoon, cling wrap, aluminum foil, glasses, cups, plates, colander, spider strainer, and cooking oil. Free tea, coffee, and mineral water are also provided in the room. In the common sink/shower area there is also a microwave and toaster oven.
The bidet toilet and bathroom are shared but with a small number of guests this is never a problem. The guesthouse provides shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shaving cream, hand/face soap, face and body towels, bath mats.
There is a laundry machine (300円/load) with detergent and a dryer (200円/load) but in the summer we could dry our laundry quickly on the roof with many hangers provided.

Very nice place I like here. The owner is very kind and he lent me a bicycle so that I could easily to visit the beautiful town. I forgot my bag when I left and he ran out to give it to me. Thank you!

Very nice place. The host was very friendly too! I didn't take any photos of the hotel, but here are some dinosaurs that I saw nearby :D.

I loved staying here! The room was cosy and host was so kind. He even found something we left behind and brought it to the harbour before we left. So clean and great shower. Great base to explore the beautiful island and Netflix on TV was a bonus :)

Really friendly host, the rooms were small but cosy. Comfy beds, coffee and tea, a heater/AC and even Netflix on a small TV. Really well located if you're doing the Shinanami Kaido or getting the boat to Setoda Harbour. Definitely recommend 👍

So glad we found this wonderful little place in such an amazing and friendly town. The rooms were the most comfortable we’ve had in Japan and great value too. The owner was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Would give 6+ stars if I could!
