They’re so nice and the room was quiet, cozy, and comfortable. The onsen on the 2nd floor is small but tattoos are okay. Traditional breakfast in a private room was perfect.

We had such a wonderful experience at Kagihei. We wish we stayed longer. What a lovely surprise to find such peace and tranquility so close to the busy Nishiki market.

Great value for the room. A little note, you need to walk a bit to the nearest station or bus shelter in order to get to downtown.

Great location within a 2-minute walk of the KyotoTrain Station. Lots of useful amenities in the rooms. The rooms are very small. The bathroom and shower are great. The breakfast has a ton of options.

The hotel is conveniently located next to Kyoto Station. It was a 5 mins walk once u exit the station.

After 4 days in a cage in tokyo, this apartment was god sent. Self-checkin was smooth. No problems whatsoever. Plenty of space for luggage.

Lovely little apartment style room, large bathroom with Japanese style shower and bath, included washing machine.

Nice traditional ryokan in a prime Arashiyama spot, steps from the Luxury Collection hotel. The property is somewhat dated, but rooms are clean and comfortable, and all facilities are fully equipped.

There were mixed reviews, I am very satisfied with their amenities, foods (got half boarding), service, quietness, old but clean. It wasn't expensive either and even guests were courteous.

Great hotel in a fantastic location. Only one block from the Kyoto train station. Beds are nice. The room is a decent size, especially for Japan.

Location: Chose REF Kyoto Hachijoguchi as the hotel was a cheap 4 star near to Kyoto station (~ 5 min walk). Nearby are two shopping malls.

This is my first time sleeping on a futon bed, and tatami room. The building is traditional and authentic and very beautiful. I was impressed by the cleanliness. The host was very kind and friendly.

Genuinely beautiful inn. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Not a lot of easily walkable restaurants nearby, but a kitchen is accessible and there are nearby grocery stores.

Stayed 2 nights with a family of 4. The house itself is amazing and well worth the price. The host is great and helped us with local food recommendations and local sights.

Nachiya is the most beautiful, stylish and comfortable home you can find (away from home). The house is spacious and clean and full of traditional Japanese charm.

This is a very nice and very well located traditional ryokan.

We had wanted the traditional Ryokan experience for our first time in Kyoto. You know, the whole Tatami mats and Futons business. And Yachiyo delivered. Lovely building and room.

We booked Hotel Kanso for 4 days in Kyoto and had a great stay. The room was very spacious—there was enough space for our 3 big bags, and we still had room to move comfortably.

Hibari hostel was exactly what we were looking for. Friendly, simple accomodations.

We took the Annex room.
Its basically a closet with tatami Mats — but pretty good for the price.
The lobby and sanitary facilities are good and clean.

Checked in on 11/27-12/2. The landlord was very kind and well-equipped. It was very quiet at night. It is also very close to the supermarket of AEON Department Store. It takes 5 minutes to walk.

I stayed at ROOJI, which was rumored around me, for 1 night and 2 days.
I was very satisfied with the clean and well-maintained rooms, stylish bedrooms, and tasteful Japanese-style rooms.

I won the 10AM morning time slot for Nintendo Museum so I decided to stay in Uji instead of Kyoto city.

Great japanese style accomodation. Sento was clean and a good temperature and rooms were clean but be prepared harder night's sleep as the Japanese futons on the ground.

This stay at the Uji Ryokan was the most memorable experience of my two weeks in Japan. The rooms, onsen, breakfast and setting are divine.

A nice hotel by the serene Uji river. A great place to relax and have a quiet get away from hustle bustle city for a day.

Kasuya was amazing and very accommodating. The airbnb is close to convenience stores and grocery store. It was a very enjoyable stay. Both the kids and adults had a great time!

This place is so amazing. Very traditional and very well maintained. It’s very traditional Japanese setting so maybe not to everyone’s liking, it is sleeping on the floor and very thin walls.

It's an exceptional find for a travellers looking to spend a few nights in a traditional house. Tani is lovely and very accommodating. She still lives on the ground floor.
