B&B Monte Oliveto

We booked Monte Oliveto directly through the website. Marta was extremely helpful, since the room we wanted didn’t seem to be available, so she helped us reserving it.
We arrived in the afternoon and were greeted by a friend of the owners, since they were away. We had a lovely chat and immediately felt welcomed. And that was the overall atmosphere at Monte Oliveto.
The bed and breakfast is around 1/2 mile away from the touristy area and right next to the old town. So we walked a bit each day to get to the places we wanted to go to, but it’s quite enjoyable. Plus — there are a lot of restaurants nearby which aren’t touristy. After being in Como in the noisy town center, we really preferred that.
The room — we had the Mansarde on the top floor with a little terrace and a kitchenette and a view of the hills behind the house. Aside from getting our suitcases up two floors, it was lovely.
The breakfast — we are vegans and Marta and her husband Tomas were extremely accommodating. We had non dairy yogurt with fruit, bruschetta and bread or vegan croissants. In hotels you often make do with a little bread and jam, but not here.
The services we used — Marta did laundry for us, which was helpful in the middle of our trip. When we told her, we would go to Siena, she offered to make as a picnic, which was amazing (pasta salad, fruit salad, veggies, baba ganoush and drinks). It helped us a lot, as we didn’t need to find a restaurant which was accommodating to vegans.

Very good hotel! Quiet, cosy place to stay during your visit to Florence. Donatella is a very friendly and nice person. Spacious room, good breakfast, enough place to park our car in the street near B&B. (2 Euro per hour from 8 a. M till 8 p. M). 24 Euro for 24 hours. Ponte Vecchio is just 15 minutes walking.

B&B Monte Oliveto is a fantastic place to stay! Marta and Tommaso are incredibly welcoming hosts. The breakfast was delicious, with scrambled eggs, yogurt, and more. The high ceilings in the rooms add comfort and charm, and the peaceful location is perfect for exploring Florence. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for two nights to attend a friend's wedding. The room was spacious, beautiful, and well-stocked. There was also a stunning view from our balcony. The breakfast served was fresh with some made to order. We had a wonderful stay!

I highly recommend B&B Monte Oliveto as a place to stay in Florence.
Firstly, the location is great; being in Oltravano, over the river, it provides a broader view of Florence and a breath of air away from the busy centre (it's all very walkable). Secondly, the B@B is very clean, fonfortable and feels like a lovely place to come home to. The breakfasts were fantastic and I loved meeting international visitors, around the breakfast table, and talking about their trips.
Finally, I received such a lovely welcome from Marta and Tomasso. Marta gave me some fantastic advice re what to do, where to eat, walks, booking me a taxi etc, etc. I really appreciated the kindness and it was a pleasure to stay here.
Would certainly stay again — Florence is beautiful (although hectic), so Monte Oliveto was the perfect place to return to, after sight seeing/ activities.

What a wonderful place to stay! My husband and I stayed 4 nights and felt like we were right at home. The room was comfortable, air conditioning was definitely a plus considering it was very hot outside. The hosts were above and beyond wonderful. The breakfast was freshly prepared and so delicious! It is in a cute neighborhood, yet close enough to walk to the more tourist places. So grateful we found this place! Highly recommend.

Monti Oliveto was the best B&B experience we’ve had! Marta, Bianca, and Tommaso were the most gracious and welcoming hosts who made our stay feel like home.
The rooms were lovely and comfortable, and the garden was gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious!
The B&B is a short walk from the main centre and is close to all the good pasticcerias, cafes, and restaurants outside the touristy area. We’ll definitely stay here again when we’re back in Firenze!

This is an absolute gem. I cannot say enough about this stay. Marta made us feel welcomed and at home. The breakfast was out of this world. The room was a good size, clean, and the bed was comfortable. It is a good value for the money.
The location is in a quieter part of Florence which is refreshing. There are not many dining options nearby, but it is easy to plan accordingly. There are grocery stores within blocks and there's a fridge in the room. We were able to walk to all of the sights easily although if you come in by train I recommend you take a taxi to the B&B.

I did a solo trip traveling around northern Italy earlier this month and absolutely loved this B&B. The atmosphere was very welcoming and it was much nicer than staying in a typical hotel. I stayed in the room that has a terrace and greatly enjoyed being able to sit out there with a cup of tea enjoying the evening. The breakfast was also wonderful, it's served downstairs in a group setting so you can meet the other guests if you like. I especially loved the granola and yogurt. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Florence!

Absolutely best experience of all the places I stayed in Italy. Marta and her mother are genuinely kind people and went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed along the way. I can’t say enough good things: I loved my room, the garden, and the food. It was very special and fun to share a delicious breakfast out in the garden with other travelers from all over the world. The B&B is close enough to all the good stuff in Florence to feel quickly accessible but tucked away on a quieter street so you can escape the chaos and crowds when your done touring around the city for the day. Honestly I couldn’t have happened upon a better place for my time in Florence.

We had a wonderful stay at this b&b! The rooms were spacious, comfortable and had many thoughtful touches. Our room had a beautiful patio where we enjoyed wine at sunset. Breakfast was great and we loved eating in the beautiful garden and meeting other travelers. Hosts were wonderful and provided many great recommendations of sights, restaurants, shops, and even had recommendations in Tuscany as we continued our journey. Finally, the location was awesome! Located on a quiet, peaceful street but just a short walk from all the sights.

We had a great time, we slept in the beautiful and comfortable attic and everything was perfect. The bathroom is beautiful. The breakfast table was taken care of down to the smallest detail and there was everything you could wish for. Marta, the hostess, is very caring, welcoming and kind. In the center but in a quiet street with a beautiful garden to relax. <

This is one of the most cosy, welcoming and charming places I've stayed at. Donatella and Martha are fantastic hosts and cooks and having an expert knowledge about their city. If I ever visit that beautiful part of the world again, I will sure book my stay with them! +++++
