The hotel is generally fine, with a central location that is convenient for getting around.
Breakfast offers a wide variety, with a good mix of local and international dishes. The local selection was ok, served in rattan trays with paper linings, giving a strong local feel. The international options, however, could be improved. The butter at the bread section was served in a jar so I don’t know what brand was used; unfortunately the butter tasted stale bordering rancid on both mornings I stayed.
The room itself was excellent. It was very spacious, with a full glass wall offering an unobstructed city view. A plug extension was thoughtfully provided at the work desk, which was a real plus.
A major drawback was the sliding bathroom door: it could not be locked and would not stay closed, sliding open on its own. There was also a large gap between the door and the wall, raising privacy concerns. The trash bin was an open, wide, short basket with no lid, making waste very visible and aesthetically unpleasant compared to taller bins that keep trash discreetly out of sight.
The hotel was also very strict about amenities (and everything else it seems judging from the other reviews here). An additional towel was not allowed, which is understandable given the booking was for two guests, though many hotels are more flexible on this.
The check-in experience was very poor — which was not a unique experience judging by other reviews. I arrived at 3:00 pm and was told the room was not ready.
