Novotel Solo

I stayed at Novotel Solo and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel location is convenient, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the check-in process was smooth. The room was comfortable enough for resting, although there are still a few small things that could be improved to make the stay even better. Thank you for the service.

The service is superb. Before we arrival the frontdesk already call us to check what time we will arrive and also to confirm the room requirement. The check in process is fast and the concierge man is very helpful from the 1st time took down the bags from cars until send to our room. Room is kind outdated but all is functional. The bathroom provided good hot/cold shower. Hotel has an access to 2 area of swimming pool. 1 pool is kinda small but other near the restaurant lounge is very spacious with clear fresh water. For the breakfast in the morning also complete and delicious. Hotel position is very good on the central Solo almost effortless to go anywhere all by walking distance. If you want classic simple stay this hotel is recommended.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at Novotel Solo. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the city, making it very convenient to explore Solo and visit many nearby places.
The atmosphere felt warm and homey, with friendly staff, good service, and nice hospitality throughout our stay. The room was quiet and comfortable, which made it a great place to rest after a full day of activities.
Although the building is not new, it is still clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The location is definitely one of the biggest highlights. On Sunday morning, we could enjoy Car Free Day nearby. The hotel is also close to many popular spots, such as Solo is Solo, Ngarsopuro Night Market, Batik Kauman, Keraton Solo, Pura Mangkunegaran, and other tourist attractions.
Another plus point is that the famous Sate Kambing Pak Manto is within walking distance from the hotel.
Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Solo.

The hotel is generally comfortable, but cleanliness is a major concern for a 4-star hotel.
It might be worth checking out other 4-star Accor hotels to see what their breakfast standards are like.
The current standard of the Novotel Solo has declined drastically.

We stayed at Novotel Solo for four nights to celebrate a birthday and the school holidays. The hotel’s primary advantage is its strategic location, which made it very convenient to reach the various sites on our itinerary.
The check-in process was efficient; we arrived at 3 PM and were settled into our room within ten minutes. We also appreciated the upgrade from our reserved Executive Room to a Family Room. The hotel staff facilitated a thoughtful birthday surprise for my daughter with a cake, which was well-received and added a nice touch to our arrival.
The room was spacious, comfortably accommodating a king bed and a single bed, and offered a clear view of the city from the top floor. The interior design features a 90s aesthetic combined with Javanese cultural elements, such as batik motifs and wayang mosaics on the ceiling. Even though our room faced the street, it remained clean and the noise insulation was effective.
Regarding facilities, the hotel is well-equipped for families. My children enjoyed the kids' club and the pool area, which includes a dedicated children’s pool with slides. The breakfast buffet offered a consistent variety of choices, and we enjoyed the opportunity to try local items like Gudeg and Jamu. Overall, the staff was helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Given the location, value, and the standard of service, we would consider returning for future visits. "

We enjoyed our stay. The gym was massive and well equipped. The location was strategic because it was walking distance to a lot of food places. When my kids' room shower was problematic, technicians came and completely fixed it. The room was comfortable. Staff service was good.

We unfortunately got put on a floor directly below the level they were renovating, but their response to our complaints were top notch. We’ve gotten moved to a cleaner and quieter room, and I should also add that the laundry service was amazing. We’ve recently been a part of an activity that had made our shoes full of mud, and they’ve washed it and have sent it to us just hours later. Mba Ayi was the very friendly laundry lady who brought our shoes back and I would just like to show my appreciation to her and the staff of this hotel as well!

The room was spotless, well-furnished, and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the attention to detail — from the quality of the linens to the complimentary amenities provided. Housekeeping did an excellent job throughout my stay, ensuring everything remained clean and organized. What truly stood out was the level of service especially Ms. Felicia. Every staff member I encountered, whether at the restaurant, concierge desk, or even housekeeping, was attentive, polite, and eager to help. They went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed and provided great recommendations for local attractions and dining options. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. I highly recommend Novotel Solo to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and exceptional service.

The hotel's city location is excellent, with the rail station nearby. Our room was spacious, and the staff were very helpful. Overall, it was great value for money.
Suggestions for Improvement:
1. The bed was too hard; consider replacing it with a King Koil mattress.
2. The water mark on the bath room glass.
3. The sofa in the room was also too hard and looked old. Updating the sofa cover would be a good idea. The room interior and amenities need refurbishment.
4. The interior looks Old.

I've stayed in Novotel Solo for more than 4 times during my business trip in Surakarta for the last 5 years. The location is one of my reason to stay. Despite the food's variety served during breakfast was not much, still, I love to stay in Novotel since the room is very much lovely and enjoyable. If I asked what is the most issues to be solvedtthe hotel is the breakfast and the food's variation.

I stayed in Family Room with my other 2 colleagues. This is what we got.
1. Receptionist staff was not so friendly — even never greet us whenever we came back from strolling around Solo city. Compared with Harris, Pop or Swissbell, their receptionist were much more friendly enough, even remember our name. Only your security guard who always greeted and smiled to us. Two thumbs up for them.
2. Room was quite enough spacious, but old. Shower tool was broken and shower room were clogged drains. Pillows were too high but still acceptable.
3. You provide refillable water jugs, but we hd to call reception first to refill them. That's inefficient. We're wondering why you don't provide water dispensers on every floor. Pls consider to give better service.

Our stay at Novotel solo was absolutely superb!
The hotel is stunning, with an incredible range of restaurants that offer something for everyone. The whole place feels exclusive, yet welcoming.
What truly made our stay memorable was the amazing staff. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and helpful. A special shoutout to Kania she is waitrees-she was an absolute gem! So sweet, kind, and genuinely helpful. We had such fun chatting with her, and she made sure everything went smoothly for us.

Hotel don't allow me to shift the schedule due to I have urgent issue informed 2 days before arrival. The hotel has nice swimming pools and kids playground. The hotel looks quite old already. When checked in our room was not properly clean, fake eyelash and needle found on the carpet. Lucky it didn't hurt my kid. Breakfast are below expectation. My previous 3 star hotels has better breakfast taste.

It's a flawless hotel I would say. Even though it is situated on an old building, but all of the facilities got great maintenance. The food taste good. The room is clean and smells good. Although, it takes quite a while for the AC to cool the room even when the blower is set to the max. All in all, it has a great value for money.
