Hotel room is great! Breakfast ala carte is amazing. Perfect in every sense.
Pool is refreshing, they have kids pool is as well.
I wish the extra backyard can be given playground for the kids to run around.
My son and I ate at the restaurant last night. He ordered the cheese pizza and has been violently throwing up since 4AM and still continues to do so. He only ate half the pizza as it tasted weird. Shame on you Nalaya Hotel.

I tried my best with this hotel but unfortunately had to leave after a few hours due to the beds being damp and rank, so had to move to a different hotel at 11pm and the hotel refused to give a refund for my two nights paid in advance.
When we arrived we were offered a choice between two twin rooms which seemed a little strange. We said yes to a room near the pool and as soon as we opened the door we were hit by the strong smell of musty damp. Then when we sat on the beds they were palpably and obviously wet and dank — the room had windows with no glass so it was semi-traditional, but this was totally not working with the western style duvets and mattresses. It has been the wet season in Java for months and the area around Borobudur is extremely humid and rains often, indeed the whole surrounds are rice paddy fields so the whole region is totally soaked. This is incompatible with having nice big soft beds, because they absorb all the moisture.
So we went out for dinner and when we came back we asked if we could try the other room. The staff were fine about it, and we switched to a room at the front of the property which didn’t have as bad a smell and did seem drier. However, when we got into the beds both of us started getting itchy and feeling prickles and these beds also seemed a little damp due to the windows being open to elements.
