Well designed, idyllic between rice fields; self-contained rooms with free bicycles and a lovely pool surrounded by plants. Food was authentic Indonesian and delicious. It includes lots of fresh vegetables and fruit for dessert. It had a restful atmosphere and was largely free from the sounds of motorbikes. You can’t escape the baleful calls to prayers that insert themselves everywhere.

The atmosphere, surroundings and the views: nestled in an authentic village and surrounded by paddy fields and other farming. The spacious chalets and open, shaded spaces in the open air with a wonderful peaceful view, even of Mt Merapi. Small swimming pool is clean and well-maintained. Walking distances to restaurants, Borobudur Temple, groceries, etc. Friendly and helpful staff and able to communicate in English. Safe to walk or cycle, bicycles provided FOC by hotel, to explore the surroundings or to the town.

A quite and peaceful chalet hotel in the surrounds of Borobudur Temple. Quite different to the large scale 5 star resorts. This is a 'personal' experience with only 8 chalets on the property. Very beautiful surrounds away from the village or big hotel bustle.

We loved this place, it is a green and calm oasis near Borobudur. The garden is beautiful with views to the rice terraces and swimming pool, rooms are big and nicely decorated, food is delicious. Staff is very friendly, can speak English very well, and we could borrow a bike to visit Borobudur. We would definitely recommend to stay here!

Rumah Dharma offers a fantastic experience with its charming cottages amidst the rice fields. The location is perfect, close to Borobudur, which is easily accessible by bike. The food at the hotel is delicious, and the friendly and helpful staff make you feel at home right away. The transfer from the airport to the hotel and the continuation of the journey went smoothly. Very nice driver, great guy. I highly recommend this hotel!

What a wonderful spot! Great food with a real authentic taste to it! Very close to the Borobudur and we recommend the bike tour they have on offer. The hotel lies in the middle of beautiful paddie fields and stauing here makes life sweet…

This was a lovely place to stay in Borobadur. The grounds are beautiful, the views are idyllic and the service is warm and attentive. The bikes they provide are in great condition. We loved our stay here and hope to come back.

Rumah Dharma is just walking distance from the popular UNESCO site Borobadur.
The complex of 8-10 individual cottages is set amidst paddy fields, and provides a nice and relaxing atmosphere, allowing you to wake up to the sounds of Nature and the cool breeze. Located an hour's drive away from the airport, but the resort arranges for pick up drop off. We also used the same driver to take us to the city and Prambanam temple complex.

The location is beautiful! Very close to Borobudur and dining, but also far enough that it's quiet and peaceful. The service from the staff is the best I've ever had anywhere. They have bicycles you can borrow for free and have an adventure any time. Only had small issues with the Wi-Fi in our room, and wish we had a few more lights as well. I will recommend it to everyone😊

We had a blissful stay here end of June. The place is beautiful and the staff look after you and can arrange tours of the local area with their in depth knowledge. We especially enjoyed dinner and breakfast at Rumah Dharma with the menu varying each day. The call to prayer was actually quite magical.

Rumah Dharma is a little gem right next to the Borobudur temple with an amazing view on the rice fields and the Borobudur in the background. The staff is so friendly and always ready to help you. They offer bikes free of charge which is a great way to explore the surroundings and obviously visit the Borobudur temple.
There is a possibility to dine in which I highly recommend. The food was delicious so we had dinner there both nights. It might be a little more expensive than eating out on the streets but it’s definitely worth it and I think they deserve that little extra.

One of the nicest places we've been during our Java tour! The personal was truly exceptional and we also liked the food very much. During the day we've been on our own without any other guests being in the hotel. We enjoyed the wonderful pool and walked through the surrounding village. We will come back as soon as this is possible. Thanks for having us!

That it is right in the middle of rice-fields. One may stay here just to relax and live /relive a relaxed village life. The homestay is gorgeous with Buddha statues and other statues, cobbled paths. Sit on the benches and see an old man guiding his flock of very disciplined ducks from the fields to back home; small boys flying kites; wake up to the sound of birds and go to sleep to the sound of either frogs/ lizards (could not make out what was it😄). Cycle the nearby villages with green fields on either side; locals cheerfully wishing you; you can cycle to Borobodur too / walk to the placs. Cycles are provided by Rumah Dharma. They also arrange tickets for you for Borobodur. Do remember climbing the temple is not open on Mondays. The.
Rooms are spacious, the bathrooms even more spacious. The staff is very welcoming. You enjoy local food. They arranged a very good driver/car for airport pickup/dropoff; visit to Prambanan and Mount Merapi.
What I also enjoyed is unlike hotels, all the guests were sitting in the open areas, playing board games, chatting with other guests. We absolutely loved our stay here. A warm shoutout to the staff who were excellent!

Stayed for 5 nights in February, 2023. Very few tourists in Borobudur, being the rainy season.
Great stay. At Rumah Dharma We chose it because it looks out over rice paddies: very rural although only a 10-15 minute walk to the town and perhaps a 20 minute walk to the UNESCO site. A good sized room with a large bathroom, excellent bed. A good sized pool. A perfectly reasonable selection for breakfast but a small menu for dinner (this is perhaps a reflection of the small number of tourists there in February).
First class staff: very helpful.
Some might find it a little too rustic but we expected that and it met all expectations and then some.

We're experiencing a very good service staying in Rumah Dharma 2. It ticks all the boxes. Good home cooked meals, great service from the staff (with only 5 cottages, we feel their hospitality), lovely room and pool, well informed and helpful staff. Clean and well maintained place. Nice surrounding to explore by bike.

Well, you are in the middle of padifields, so you don’t have much choice but to eat there if you want convenience. The good thing is the food is great! Very healthy and wholesome tasting food. And the staff are really well informed and helpful. But a bad thing is their shower! No hot water, it was cold most times and not a pleasant shower experience.
