Plataran Borobudur

Stayed here for two nights at the borobudur view villa.
Hospitality: This would be one of the highlight of the stay. We felt very welcomed and pampered during our stay. The staff went above and beyond to anticipate our needs and much more.
Activities: Maybe it's not something that I typically write in a hotel review but Plataran Borobudur charm is definitely the various activities you can go for! We took gerabah making class, visited tenun making house, tried our hands on jamu brewing, and also visited gula jawa making shop. All of which are amazing, I would definitely recommend going to as much as you can but if you have to pick one go pick the tenun house as it also comes with a visit to selo griyo temple (we didn't go because of bad weather but you definitely should)
Food: Here the food are amazing, you would experience great food at all their restaurant. We went to Stupa for dinner because we wanna try out Indonesian food, ordered wedang ronde, bebek, and iga bakar. I cannot praise highly enough all of the assortments. The portion is huge, iga bakar was flame grilled to perfection, and bebek came with great sambal on top of fragrantly delicious Nasi Bere. Breakfast is also what you would expect if you go to a luxury Indonesian restaurant and ordered something, it's like that. The pastries were not that amazing but all other dishes were scrumptious.

Amazing location with a view on Borobudur Temple. The villa is spacious with traditional wooden flooring, big bathrooms and a private swimming pool overlooking the mountains. The spa experience was fantastic and the New Year Eve dinner was well organised. Our Borobudur tour which we booked via the hotel was seamless the guide was knowledgeable. All personnel is so customer friendly, their attitude made our stay truly special! We spent two relaxing days there, and it was an unforgettable experience.

Love this hotel. Super cute. Very nice architecture. The staff are amazing and very kind. Every interaction with them has been wonderful. The staff in the Menoreh restaurant are awesome. The chef was very kind and made me vegetarian nasi lemak even though it was a breakfast buffet.
The rooms are nice also — specious and comfortable. Very nice beds.
We also had massages here which were good and reasonably priced. Borobodur is very close to the hotel so we did the tours which the hotel organized.
Overall I highly recommend. This is a gem near Borobodur. Great staff (really the best), nice food, pretty architecture, nice spa.

Our stay in Plataran Borobudur was enjoyable and comfortable. We stayed in the Executive Modern Pool Villa. It was spacious and comfortable with an outdoor lap pool, dining and siting area. There were separate shower and bathtub areas with two sinks.
From a dining perspective, we were well fed with full board and the Patio Colonial Restaurant provided good quality food options, both local and international cuisine.
There was a kids club, main pool, badminton court and mini zoo with well fed animals on the grounds.
The resort is walkable although buggies are readily available for those who may struggle with the hilly terrain.
What stood out the most was the warm hospitality by the staff and their willingness to accommodate specific requests.

Great place for short getaway, top notch service, super friendly staffs around the hotel, especially the ones in Patio Colonial, they were willing to play with kids and the kids were happy with them.
The breakfast foods were great and delicious.
Been to Patio Colonial restaurant for dinner, the foods were relatively good but quite pricey.
The stay in Traditional Pool Villa were awesome and pleasant.
Some notes for improvement:
-needs more lights inside, too dimmed at evening and night,
-the wooden plank floors too slippery when wearing hotel slippers, even when barefooted, maybe because of the floor cleaning chemical.
Overall, excellent service and stay experience.

From the moment we arrived, we felt like family. The staff remembered our names, anticipated our needs, and went above and beyond. The lobby was being renovated, we couldn't experience it. An exceptional service (personalized, attentive staff) Truly the best hospitality.
Location is perfect! In the middle of the jungle, very airy, nature is such a breeze. Great value for the villa. Free activities and afternoon tea.
Improvement could be cleaner villa, we saw dust here and there inside our villa. Being allergic to dust, makes you sneeze due to your immune system reacting. We also ran out of bubble bath and body lotion quick.

This was an absolutely incredible stay, from start to finish. The level of service is remarkable, and the staff is so kind and helpful, they really did everything to make this an amazing stay. The private villas are fantastic, the food is exceptional, and the entire property is lovely and feels like paradise. The view of Borobodur from the terrace is unique. I highly recommend coming here, you won't regret it.

We spent five nights at Plataran Borobudur, and it was one of the most memorable family trips we’ve had. Our villa was beautiful, private, and comfortable, with stunning views of Borobudur Temple and the Menoreh Hills. Waking up to that view was magical!
My son loved the Carnival, afternoon tea at The Patio, breakfast at Tiga Dari, and all our meals at Stupa. The food was consistently delicious. Thank you to the amazing chefs and servers for making each meal special. A special mention to the chef at Stupa for kindly sharing the recipe of my favourite dish — such a thoughtful touch!
A big thank-you to Team 210 for the warm, attentive, and top-notch service throughout our stay. We also truly appreciated the Padma Spa team for easing our aches, and the housekeeping staff who even braved the rain to ensure our villa was spotless and the turndown service never missed. We joined the Jamu-making class (and brought home the recipes! ), enjoyed a relaxing batik session, and the hotel arranged an unforgettable Sunrise Borobudur experience. There is so much to do at Plataran — you will never be bored.
We’re already planning a stay at Plataran Bromo next year. If you’re looking for a family-friendly stay with heart, culture, and genuine warmth, choose Plataran Borobudur. We left with full hearts and beautiful memories.

Our stay at Plataran Resort & Spa was entirely memorable, with an exceptional location offering views of the Borobudur temple and the majestic Mt Merapi in the backdrop. This was only possible as we were upgraded to the temple view villa at no cost! All around, the staff were courteous and the service, excellent. On our last morning, we were driven to Manohara Hills to Plataran Shailendra in the wee hours for a magnificent sunrise and an uninterrupted view of the volcanic landscape surrounding Magelang and the Borobudur temple. This was the highlight of not only our stay but our entire vacation in Yogja and Central Java.
Last but not least, we opted for a package stay where all meals were covered. This turned out to be an excellent choice, as the food served was truly delicious and had both Indonesian and International cuisine offered.
Overall, an enthralling experience. Highly recommended!

We stayed 2 nights at the Plataran Resort and SPA at Borobudur.
We were in an executive pool villa. Very large room and bathroom and great large bed. You really feel (and hear) the nature around you! Be aware that being a Muslim island, Java has many mosques meaning regular (and quite early prayer calls). But we got used to it.
Unfortunately as we were at the beginning of the raining season, we didn’t use the outdoor private pool as we hoped.
Close to the Borobudur Temple, the hotel provides a far view of the Temple and the Merapi volcano… weather permitting!
The hotel has at least 3 restaurants. We had twice an Indonesian menu which we enjoyed very much.
Last (but certainly not least) we must underline the great kindness of all the staff. Everybody was really nice and a very special mention to Reva and Yekti. Your attitude and your wonderful smile make a real difference!

We had an absolutely wonderful two-night stay at Plataran Borobudur in October! m. From start to finish, everything was exceptional and filled with warmth and care.
Our pool villa was spotless, beautifully designed, and offered stunning views of Candi Borobudur, waking up to that view each morning was unforgettable. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely kind.
A very special thank you to our butler, Mas Bimo, who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. He was always quick to reply to our messages, remembered exactly how we liked our coffee, and was so thoughtful and attentive to our daughter Cara Rose, making her feel truly special. He even accompanied us to the station when we left for Surabaya. A very kind gesture that meant a lot to us.
The food was another highlight. Breakfast had a great variety, the steak was phenomenal (thank you Head Chef Batubara! ), and I especially loved the Middle Eastern dish I had at the restaurant. Also loved the high tea. We also enjoyed the spa and kids club, which made our stay even more relaxing and fun.
The excursions were engaging and insightful, especially the one where we learned how to make gula jawa, a truly memorable experience.
Everything about Plataran Borobudur — the breathtaking views, the exceptional service and hospitality, made our visit unforgettable. We can’t wait to return! Terimakasih banyak.

We booked a villa for one night for our friend's wedding at Patio Plataran Borobudur. The wedding venue is facing the Borobudur Temple, make it an unforgettable and beautiful photo spot.
The villa is impeccable. Very clean and well maintained. The bathroom is spacious and clean. Breakfast is great with decent options and kid friendly menu. We walked to animal sanctuary and kids club. The kids club is clean and not crowded at all (in fact we're all by ourselves that morning). The hospitality is top notch. We communicate through WA group with mrs. Maria and mr. Mario who were very helpful should we had any need for assistance. We didn't wait too long for our villa to get ready, nor when we requested a buggy car for as to mobilise within the resort complex.
Overall, even for only one night stay, our experience with Plataran Borobudur is satisfactory. The resort even planted one mangrove tree on our name as part of their sustainability program. A little gesture that captured our heart as customer.

Dining at Tiga Dari was an unforgettable experience. Chef Iqbal’s food was divine—each dish was crafted with such care and creativity, perfectly balancing local flavors with refined presentation. It was easily one of the best meals we’ve had in Indonesia.

We had a wonderful experience at Plataran Borobudur resort. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. The views of the Borobudur Temple and surroundings are amazing, especially with the full moon! The villas are beautiful and spacious. We truly enjoyed the private pools after our sightseeing. And dinner at the Patio and Tiga Dari restaurants were delicious. We enjoyed speaking with the staff who remembered our names after meeting us once! One of our party had a tender stomach and the restaurant team were super accommodating with customizing the breakfast and dinner options. The property is beautiful and we would definitely return!

We enjoyed the pool, the food, the activities (cooking class and a fascinating cycling tour of the local area). We felt very special and well looked after. The setting is gorgeous and everything felt generous.

I have just returned from three nights spent at Plantaran Borobudur Resort and Spa. The location of the hotel and the views from it towards Borobudur Temple are beautiful and the restaurants were great. But what has really stood out for me, is the quality of the service. I don’t think I have ever experienced so many kind, attentive and professional staff and management, from the front desk to the restaurants and room service. I am truly grateful for them for making our stay even more memorable.

I stayed at Plataran Borobudur for four nights, and from start to finish it was an unforgettable experience. The service was exceptional — the staff went out of their way to make us feel truly special. I have rarely encountered such warm, genuinely friendly hospitality.
Our home during the stay, the Founders Home, offered a beautiful view of Borobudur, which felt magical at any time of the day. The hotel also offers a wide range of fun and interesting activities, adding even more to the experience. The massages at the spa were also of outstanding quality.
The value for money is beyond excellent; in fact, it may well be the best I have ever experienced at any hotel.
Highly recommended in every possible way.
