Good food, great ambience and lovely music! This place is closest to the beach. Very great interiors. Staff behaviour and service is appreciable. An amalgamation of Tamil and French architecture can be seen in the decor. The food is authentic with every dish done so well that you just don't wanna complain at all. Believe me, this place will make your evening in Pondicherry!

Decent pick. Close to the beach. Rooms are neatly maintained. Your vehicle parking can be a concern yet manageable. Every other places are at walkable distance. Complementary breakfast served was good.

Excellent place. Claims to have a sea view but that's only in the afternoon apparently although the windows here don't face the sea directly. Food was absolutely delicious and drinks were also reasonably priced. Great ambience too. Waiters could be a bit slow but there's a manager/owner (not sure) who runs around to make sure the slow waiters don't affect your experience and your orders are delivered on time.

Fantastic food. Nice cozy rooms. Great Breakfast! Parking is a problem but the front office manages it if you ask for assistance. Walking distance from the beach in the white town. Good food joints nearby as well.

A wonderful place for a perfect dining experience. Ordered prawns which were cooked to tender and juicy consistency. Sangria turned out to be tad bland and was overloaded with fruits. Main course was perfect although a little less in quantity but was worth the price. The fish fillet was soft and juicy and topped with prawns and served with veggies and fries. Yum yum! Tiramisu was delicious and made the day! :)

We had our lunch there. Food was extremely delicious and not expensive too. Ambiance was average as they recently shifted there restaurant to third floor. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful. We had trouble with the air conditioning, so it was getting little hot with all the guests too. I faced problem while parking my car as it was a narrow street. Overall we had a good experience.

If you wish to have the vintage feel in Pondicherry, then this is the right place for you. Cozy rooms, vintage look, lovely ambience, good food and drinks, located in the French Colony and just 2 minutes walk to the Promenade beach, all these make the stay here very special. There is a boutique on the ground floor which has decent collection of dresses, chappals and bags with reasonable price. Our overall experience was really good. A perfect place to stay in the White town. Value for money.

We took one raw mango plate as starter, which was too good. Then we had a fish plate with spinach and cheese sauce, which was excellent. After that we had a chicken preparation which was also very good. Overall it is a very good experience. I visited many good restaurants all over the world. Quality of food here will be in the top bracket…

If you happen to stay in the white town, this place has to be one of the most budget friendly, vintage feel place. Though our room has very little mobile network, we didn't mind checking our phones quite often. Otherwise rooms have a very vintage and comfortable feel. Loved our stay.

Absolutely beautiful rooms. The room and bathroom was very well maintained. The room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable! The roof top restaurant doesn't really have a sea view, but the food is incredible. Its 60 a second walk from the promenade. I'd definitely stay here the next time I'm in pondi!

The location if this hotel is excellent right in the heart if the White Town, walking distance to mist sights and shopping areas and stones throw from the Rocky beach. The hotel is good, clean and the staff very helpful and courteous. The only problem we had was with the breakfast menu which was boring and rather meager and impossible for people with dietary restrictions or preferences. The restaurants are good and the food is excellent. The rooms are rather on the small. Side and the toilets are very narrow. If you wish to have a good sleep take the smaller classic rooms which are away from the road and offer good sleep, as compared to the front facing rooms where blaring horns can keep you awake late in the night or jolt you awake early in the morning. Otherwise the hotel is lovely.

A must must place to visit for… Its one of the best in Puducherry, situated in white Town it has various range of continental dishes. Starting from fish to mutton, prawns to chicken to beef its all tongue drooling delicacies. The best part is not only continental but they are best in the Indian food too. Specially the prawn curry and dal was fabulous. Loved visiting this place… Worth every penny…

Good crowd. The place is very happening and the bright decors really looks nice. The staff is very polite and one of the most friendly I have come across. I would definitely recommend this place for fine dining.

Location: Very nice. Beach, shops, other eateries were also nearby. Room: Big, clean and comfortable. Room was beautiful. Food: Breakfast was good. We ordered fish in the evening, it was really nice. Breakfast could be better. Staff: Very courteous and helping. Overall, a very good experience.

After two weeks in India, Le Chateau provided a taste of home with their spaghetti. The atmosphere was great with a rooftop view and a wonderful breeze. The staff were kind, corteous, and attentive. If you find your way there, try their crispy lamb and enjoy the classic American romance songs.

It's a very lovely nice friendly clean the rooms are wonderful, the food is amazing, the service is extremely efficient I'm recommending this place either to stay or for a meal on the top floor restaurant you will enjoy it, the owner put a lot of effort to make this place unforgettable since 2015 so make a reservation now. A very happy customer for many years.

They have redone the rooftop and is recently open. The ambience is good as they have tried to give European feel… but not much successfully. The cuisine is much Indian although the name of restaurant is french. I tried the grilled fish and herb rice. Mashed potatoes. Liked the service. Will definitely visit again.

Simply I'd say it all comes down to the food at the end of the day. Le Chateau has been consistent in the deliciousness of their food till date, right from their conception, and as an ardent lover of their succulent dishes and service, the warmth of their friendly staff, the welcoming attitude of their entire team in general, I'd go so far to say I would challenge any foodie to give this place a try. Among their signature dishes I must say are the Murgh malai kebab, crispy fried lamb, even the crispiest French fries, amazing sea food platter, juicy beef steak, grilled meats, creamy and kadai dishes so appealing to the pallette, any dining experience @ Le Chateau will never fail to impress.

Rooms are slightly small. But the location is good and near to most places. The staff are excellent and always ready to assist, especially Mr. Emile.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped to organise our travel (taxi) to and from Pondicherry. Comfortable rooms. They also were very understanding when we had to change our reservation and travel plans at the last minute.

I would say great location & service for the restaurant. Pretty place. I loved the onion soup… gotta try French food when in pondy right! Menu was small (please exand, m sure will be good) portions were good.

If you're looking to a have a really great time with a bunch of your friends and family sing, dance and eat great food then this is the place for it. Me and my friends had one of my best evenings and we found this place by chance. (We got real lucky) Weekends are karaoke nights in Le Chateau and there is enough place for your gang to set the floor on fire with ambience playing the integral role as always. Most of all, people here are really nice (soo much hospitality! ) and also budget friendly. (solves half the problems). We loved it. I'm sure you'll love it as well.

The place is amazing and is having a rooftop restaurant with sea view. They have a bar at ground floor and live kitchen at 3rd floor. The staff was really polite and humble. Ordered chicken breasts in red sauce wine. The Cajun rice was so much flavoursome, chicken tenders and red wine sauce perfectly sweet. Would certainly recommend if in Pondicherry. PS — Service is a bit slow but you won't get frustrated with it. They'll be just on time!

One of the finest restaurants in Pondicherry renowned for its Pub & food. Parties happen on new year & other occasions. Must visit for a variety of food options.

Food surprisingly is good. They have a disco, an indoor and a shaded outdoor / rooftop restaurant. The ambience in the rooftop one is good. Food and drinks are same across all three. You can see your food being prepared live. So hygiene and kitchen maintainance is up to date. Overall a cozy place for a relaxed evening. Price for two 800-1000inr without alchohol of course.

Ambience was beautifull. Very nice food and absolutely wonderful service. Had the days special grilled whole hallibut absolutely amazing… nice place, good food.

Food was good but expect more quantity with quick delivery at the table. Thanks for Hari for good room service & shankar at the front desk… No parking facility… And rooms are very congested… Bit cleanliness required inside room… And most important is not a place for family… Place to hang around with frds and for bachelors…

Located bang in the middle of the french quarters, tts a great place to stay. Small and cozy. The staff is quite cordial. The rooms are not so big, but they are quite comfortable. I managed quite well with wife and two 5 year old kids. Breakfast is neither lavish nor a miserly. Its just about enough that you could ask for. The hotel has two restaurants. Both have same menu. The menu is not elaborate but then given the size of the hotel, it is quite adequate. If you are staying there for 2-3 days, you won't run our of new options in the menu. The food is quite good. If you are having a beer, try the crispy fried mutton. Also try their specials. It's also stone throw away from the Promenade beach an other tourist attractions like the museum, the war memorial etc.

Nice basement bar with dance floor. Not at all crowded on the day we visited which was a Friday. Food and bites were very good.

The food is great. If you want to have proper French food le Chateau is the place for you. The rooms are really conjusted. The location is great with lots of area for street shopping and boutiques. White Town is the best place in Pondicherry. An amazing beach is also situated nearby. The only problem is that the rooms are conjusted.

Ideally located in White Town. A very positive owner and staff. The breakfast is very frugal and average. Did not try out the restaurants. The rooms are very small and the bathrooms smelly due to no ventilation. Over priced and not value for money. However, we are grateful to the owner for creating accommodation for us at a very short notice despite the peak weekend. It gave us an opportunity to enjoy the extended weekend and explore Pondicherry to understand other options for our next visit.

We went there for a lunch, and first of all, the outside is good looking. When we ordered, I wasn't expecting so much cheese and cream and oil in every meals. Do you know effect of so much fat on the body? Are Potatoes with Provencal herbs supposed to be in a cheesy cream? I don't think so. Very disappointed about the food, even the soup was very oily… Not sure I'll come back…

We went to the hotel at 10 30 pm thinking of it to be closed, but the hotel serviced us. The food was mouth-watering, we had a very good time.

It's very calm and cozy to have any food. Food is very good and tasty.

Looks good from outside but the restaurant at ground floor is little dingy. The bar counter is very very massive making space look cramped. Food is good.

Rooms are little small, food is okay but best part is it's location. Right in white town it's just 200 m from rocky beach. Staff is courteous and helpful.

Very good location to stay! They prepare awesome food you don't have to search for restaurants. Beach very close to the hotel. Room and toilet is very clean and neat.

Great location close to nice restaurants cafes and shops. The hotel has a good restaurant on the rooftop as well. The room was small and therefore the hotel feels a bit like a bunker, or a chateau if you will.

Location of the hotel is good. Staff is friendly. However, during my stay there, someone from the staff attempted to open my suitcase. The suitcase has a 3 digit lock. I locked my suitcase and went out to meet some friends. When I returned back to the hotel, the lock was broken and the suitcase would not open. I had to purchase a new suitcase because of that. Luckily I had locked my suitcase before I left. Also, during that same night, I ordered food from the hotel's own restaurant. I ordered the chicken kebab. The chicken was okay did not taste very fresh. Next morning I had food poisoning. I was puking for hours. Horrible experience. The air conditioning in the room we stayed in was not working properly as well. When we complained, we were told its because we didn't switch on the compressor. However it was the same the next day as well. They changed our room the next day. Other than that, overall experience was okay.

Awesome. To a T It's a place to stay in Pondy. Royal, elegant, cosy and nice hotel. On Rue Romain St. Highly recommended.

Quaint, good little place to stay. Close to the promenade, so you don't have to take a vehicle and just go walking and soak in the breeze. Parking's a bit of bother. Rooms are great & cozy, food is nice and the rooftop restaurant is a good way to spend late evening/night having a drink or two.

Good place, friendly and courteous staff, excellent food. Will definitely recommend this as a place to stay. Even if you aren't, the restaurant is worth checking out.
