Musician from Dupleix are really dangerous people. I'have been harrassed by Philippe Stephane since three months whereas he has not talent, he is ugly and totally unprofessional. Never going back there.

A very well maintained heritage property with a period ambiance. The restaurant is a must try and has an eclectic menu and extremely courteous service. The staff is super helpful. A place I'd love to come back to.

Horrible experience. Wanted to visit this place after seeing the 4 rating but I totally regret the decision. Extremely poor service! Most of the preferred alcohol was out of stock. Food menu was not provided for a good 30 mins even after asking for it twice. Do not visit on a hot and humid day as you're left sweating like a pig. Portions are quite less. We ordered the red snapper starter and it had no amazing flavor. The veg korma was runny and the veggie sizes were huge!

It was a good place. I loved the food and drinks. One less star for little slow service.

Amazing place that pondicherry can offer. Doesn't go that easy the wallet thou. Best suggestion is for two day stay here. The breakfast buffet is what anyone should stay here for in my opinion. Walkable distance to all cool joints… Thumbs up from end.

This is a fine dine restaurant. Very good food. Western food is excellent. Indian food is ok. Service team is excellent. Cocktails are very good (note it may take good time to serve cocktails) … No A/C. Live music needs improvement.

The dishes are very good and well served. Prices are in the mean of "luxury" restaurants.
The terrace/courtyard is very nice and shady. You can relax for a worry-free lunch despite a hot day.

This place is definitely heritage, and gives you the feel of staying in an Heritage house… And food is great as well…! Important thing to be remembered is about the wash basin in the restaurant area.! Which is something unique, the tap won't have the open close nob, it was placed in the floor and one must step on it for the water flow in tap. 1st time I struggled to find it out. Hope it's useful.

Le Dupleix is a must visit when in Pondicherry for French food. It has beautiful ambience and tasty sea food. Best for couples and friends.

Fyi this is the review of the restaurant. The food is good for your stomach but not for your wallet. If you are a fan of those poorly lit restrooms in some hotels you will proabably enjoy the dining area here. There is an open display of cocktails which are tempting to some. The air conditioning is not felt so much but it keeps you Cool. I would suggest some music over the sound of the grinder. And of course some tissues on the table.

You have to keep in mind that this is a luxury restaurant. That said, it failed to blow my mind in any of the departments — food or ambience. The dining hall was quite small and didn't have any natural light entering into it. The food we ordered were mixed in taste — some great, some not that enjoyable. I'd say, avoid rum and raisin ice cream if you decide to visit here.

Great place, beautiful decor. We ordered a chicken pondy fusion dish, bruschetta and french onion soup. Would recommend all three dishes!

We did not test the hotel but the restaurant is great! Delicious, hearty and not so expensive dishes. The staff is exemplary and the environment is soothing, outside but shady with a small ambient music. This was one of our landmarks during our stay.

Awesome place for drink and dinner… I make a point to visit this place every time I went to Pondy… Saturday nights they have a live singing show… Fantastic place to unwind and relax.

I arrived here because of a recommendation from a friend who had been here some years ago. The food was good but not as good as I was told it is. The ambience is marvelous and probably one of it's kind. It is a historic place and the food menu provides a brief snapshot of it's history. Their service was very good and if you go there just for food do take out some time to visit the place. I didn't get to stay there but if you can, I think it would be an amazing experience.

Very bad food and staff lacks the etiquette and customer service skills. Veg and non veg both were bad. The only upside of this place is the extremely well done interiors and ambience.

Lovely lunch. Wrapped prawns with cocktail sauce, was pleased by the quality of the prawn, as well as the nicely toasted, slice wrapped, that was crisp hot bacon which accompanied it. The side of fresh leaves was also generous and perfect. A very good experience! Add this to the best dining space on a gorgeous Fall day, and it adds up to perfection!

The ambience is the high point in this heritage restaurant. Food maybe tad expensive but it sure tastes good. The tenderloin steak is their best dish.

The menu has changed a lot from when I last were here (about 18 months ago). It's more Indian styled now, than European, which is kind of sad. But, alas, the food is still very good and the service is impeccable. A must go-to when in Pondy.

Me and my wife visited for trying this place for dining experience and, we loved. It. The food is presented very nicely. You may find it expensive though, as it is a fine dinining restaurant. We ordered a smoked chicken salad and garlic bread, which was a undoubtedly a fine taste. You may also find sea food platter with a good taste if you have affinity towards prawns? Then, don't miss it. The staff is polite, after all you are paying a good price for it. Liquor is available in a great variety. If you wish to buy something from wine rack, they have a selected wine collection in there. Have fun.

It's a hotel in an old and nice building, it's the only good thing. The rooms need a great cleanliness. The armchairs are full of dust and ants everywhere. The bathroom awful. I don't recommend it.

The hotel has a beautiful view. The French look fusioned with Chettinad style is a beautiful combination. The clean rooms and service is also superb. You can have a sedentary lifestyle here.

If you don't like dark room with old decor to spend a night in, this may not be a place for you. Bathroom needed some touch up. Nice ambience for the dining room and that's about it. Food had nothing to be impressed with. As a (French) restaurant in a (French) hotel in middle of old French town you should expect something like French onion soup to be a sure thing. It was one bowl of sad soup. Steak was average, had to ask for the sauce. Breakfast was limited in choice. Location is good. Quiet area with easy walk to the beach (which didn't have much to see or do). Staff & service are up to the standard.
