Was very excited to stay here for our honeymoon in August, but our trip was cancelled due to COVID and Iceland not allowing Americans to travel to their country. The hotel refused to refund us our $1500 for our week stay. You would think during these trying times and PHYSICALLY BEING UNABLE TO BE IN THE COUNTRY they would refund a young, soon to be married couple their money back. Absolutely will NOT be staying there when we eventually are able to honeymoon in Reykjavik.

A wonderful experience. The staff go that extra mile. Delightful breakfast choices. Clean, comfortable rooms. We were on the 3rd floor, looking out on the Harper centre, the changing lights were quite mesmerising.
I would love to go back again!

Lovely hotel in a perfect location. Everywhere you want to go is easily accessible, restaurants, bars, bus stop, taxis outside the hotel although quite expensive so we used the bus and found it easy to find where we wanted to go, or you can always walk. The breakfast is self serve and the selection of food available is very good. We would definitely recommend this hotel so much so that when we go back in a year or so we have already said we will stay here again.

The staff were helpful, polite, more than happy to chat, the Hotel is in the older part of Reykjavik, right by restaurants, and things to see. Would I stay there again, most definitely YES.

Tonight’s room is great. King size bed is much better than the narrow cots we had when we first arrived last week. It’s a friendly place and we like it very much.

The location is absolutely perfect! You’re close to so much right downtown, an easy walk to see sooo much architecturally, pubs, shopping, art museum, loved it here. The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful. We stayed on the top floor, and our view was amazing!

The hotel is in the city center and has nice staff at reception and breakfast room, that's the only good thing about it. Very expensive for what it provides: outdated furniture, not very clean, ok breakfast but not many options and not the best quality. I was very disappointed.

Great hotel, great staff, great location and a great breakfast. We had a room overlooking the square at the top of the hotel and loved it. It was quite noisy overnight at the weekend as he taxi rank is right across the road but this didn’t really bother us as we enjoyed watching the city wake up and eventually go to sleep.

Clean, spacious room. Friendly staff. Centrally located, which allowed us to see more of Reykjavik than we would have if we stayed somewhere farther out. The hotel also has a happy hour, although we did not try this during our stay. We did partake in the breakfast served daily, which ended up saving us quite a bit of money, since eating out in Reykjavik can be expensive! I definitely recommend this hotel.

Great hotel, right in the middle of town. The staff is amazing — the reception desk will help you with almost any questions you have. They'll even call places and get you reservations (restaurant, car rental, tours, etc. ). Like other hotels in Iceland, lacks AC. But they give you a table fan, and you can crack open the window for a cool day/night. Try not to get a room facing the street if you plan on opening the window. Also, the hotel in on the final approach of the local airport, so you might hear a few planes whizzing past during the day time (not a bother though, you won't be in Iceland to be boarded up in a hotel room during the day time).

I would very much recommend this hotel, great location central to everything in Reykjavik. Staff were helpful, spoke a huge variety of languages. I can't say enough about how great the breakfast is — fresh fantastic bread, all of the trays always full even up close, local produce, soy milk for your nice coffee, all the tables cleaned promptly…

Great staff and location. So much to eat, drink and do just steps away. Rooms are a bit dated but the bathroom is modern. No issues with cleanliness and the breakfast was hot and filling. Would stay again for sure.

Excellent place to stay in Reykjavik. We stayed three nights and enjoyed the excellent downtown location, near to great restaurants and bars. Our room was a nice size and had a modern bathroom. Very clean and well kept property. Breakfast included was one of the best spreads we experienced on our trip, and took place at a good time, 7am-10am, which allowed for early mornings and sleeping in. Once we discovered the high price of alcohol, we looked for happy hour deals, and the hotel bar had one of the best deals we took advantage of. The lobby was also nice for lounging, playing cards, etc. Definitely recommend a stay here!

We really enjoyed our stay here. We were a little nervous after reading some reviews which said the hotel was quite noisy but we are at the back and up on the higher floors and slept great. Excellent location and great breakfast selection. Ok the views from the rooms aren't the best but you're on holiday — you should be outside exploring! Very good value for money would recommend!

Great location! Hotel is in walking distance to a lot of restaurants, bars, shops, and some tourist attractions. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and is also very good. The rooms are small and housekeeping could be better.

Nice hotel: comfortable, calm and clean. The staff was friendly as well. It's in the downtown, near all the important places in Reykjavík and next to a party area full of bars. I really liked the breakfast buffet which is included for all the bookings. If you get there by bus you need to stop at the bus station number 4.

It’s a lovely hotel, great location close to everything. Our room faces the front of the hotel and it’s currently 4:30am in morning and there is no one out front policing the exorbitant amount of noise out there as the bars close and people loiter in the street waiting for rides at the taxi stand out front. Ask for a room in the back if you stay here. And/Or bring earplugs. (Note: no true black out curtains in room, there are curtains, but lets enough light in to light the room up when sun is up)

Friendly staff. Although we got an upgrade, the room was very small with a very strange pillar next to one side of the bed. The room was facing the plaza. Not recommendable for light sleepers. The noise goes on through the whole night until 4 or 5 in the morning. Read reviews of the breakfast being absolutely fantastic. I had better.

Rooms were alright, nothing special but clean and practical. Beds were a bit hard. The location of the hotel was excellent. Essentially you are right downtown within walking of lots of lovely restaurants and attractions. There's also a lovely ice rink right outside the hotel.

Nice Central location. I had a great room on the 8 ty floor with beautiful view of the city. Very helpful and mind staff. Close to all your needs in Reykjavik and out of town tours.

Absolutely loved our 4 night stay with center plaza Reykjavík. Rooms were warm, clean, tidy and well equipped — kettle, hairdryer, tea coffee, TV etc. Wi-fi was also very good, powerful and reliable. Front of house staff were very friendly and helpful, couldn’t do more for you. The breakfast was lovely, fresh food every morning — loved the flapjacks! Beds were very comfy and had a good nights sleep. Only downfall was our room was a bit noisy Friday/Saturday night but that’s expected in a city centre with locals bars etc. Would highly recommend xxxx thank you! Xx.

Prime location for many attractions. Close to pickup/drop off location for excursions, airport shuttle, and taxi. Great food at hotel restaurant. Close to the dock if interested in any boat activities. Helpful and hospitable staff.

We decided last minute to stay at the Center Plaza and cancel our other hotel since it's location was very far out of the way. The Center Plaza however is close to everything. Tons of shopping, food and attractions around we could walk almost everywhere. The rooms were nice and clean and had the comfiest pillows I have ever slept on (in the executive suites anyways) Staff were always friendly, the breakfast included provided lots of options and was always freshly stocked. Would recommend for any tourists!

I had to switch accommodation locations while I was staying in Reykjavik due to nonstop partying from 10pm to 5am. The bass from the music shook the bunk beds in the hostel room I was staying in right downtown. Needless to say I got no sleep at all. This hotel is still downtown but MUCH quieter! The room was nice, I think the older curtains added character, the breakfast was one of the best I had in a hotel, and the staff were very kind and helpful.

Terrible hotel. Staff unpleasant, rude, unwilling to help. Put us in an aweful room right by an extremely loud bar/restaurant and then refused to move us less than 10 minutes later. Lied directly to my face about not having available rooms and then immediately placed someone else one with NO reservation. Music played from 7 AM to midnight. Horrible experience.

Although one of the more expensive places we stayed in Iceland, it was also very relaxing rooms, with good views, and service and staff were friendly and accommodating. Nearest parking garage is probably your best bet for parking (1 block away). Rooms are modern and spacious. Beds are comfy and inviting. A wee bummer that it is right in the flight path for the city airport.

I couldn't have stayed in a better location whilst in Reykjavik. The rooms were nice, staff were courteous and when I go back to Reykjavik, I'll certainly be looking to stay here!

Centerhotel was a great place to stay in the center of town. The hotel is clean and well furnished. The staff is friendly and the free breakfast was actually pretty good and there was a surprising variety of food. There is free Wi-Fi, but it was somewhat inconsistent and slow at times. The hotel is located within close walking distance of parking, grocery stores, bars, and restaurants.

Wonderful accommodations facing the Central Plaza.
Definitely an excellent location to stay at.
The Front Desk staff is multi-lingual and very professional.
Housekeeping staff is efficient and comes to room quite early in the day.
Laundry staff is efficient and has extra supplies readily available if anything extra is needed.
And the dining room staff is awesome! Excellent breakfast is ready early and wait staff is right on cleanup.

Scandalous both the rooms and the staff. The room was very noisy Staff and director Rude and incompetent. Among the worst hotels ever visited.

Bad rooms, poor cleanliness and incompetent staff and little attentive to the needs of the guests, breakfast room similar to a company canteen, superior and executive rooms with zero privacy, as with a balcony overlooking the common terrace. A hotel to avoid!

Pros: Perfect center city location. Located on the Aðalstræti at the dead end of the Austurstæti-Bankstræti-Laugavegur corridor. A five-minute walk to the harbor (and the excellent Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur) ; a fifteen-minute walk from the Hallgrímskirkja and other sites. Free Wi-Fi. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Day tours pick up from the hotel lobby. Warm; it's freezing in Reykjavík in February, and the guestrooms and lobby were always toasty. Cons: Rooms are a touch small, but not uncomfortably so. Bathrooms are small; the shower especially so. Double bed was, in fact, two twin mattresses shoved together.

Centerhotel Plaza is really in the center of Reykjavik. The location couldn't be beat. Everything is within walking distance. Restaurants are five minutes down the street. A tiny supermarket is next door. Boat tours for the Northern Lights and puffins are across the street towards the harbor. The museum and flea market are also steps away. If you are here to eat hot dogs, go to a concert at Harpa, or view the vantage point from the church, this is a great hotel to stay at. Wifi, private bathrooms, and complimentary daily breakfast are included. The hotel has gone through renovations. To ensure I had one of the updated rooms, I opted to pay for an upgrade (about $50 USD for the week).

While the rooms are basic as one would expect in a Nordic country, they're clean and comfortable, with lots of hot water. The location can't be beat, and the staff were great. The housekeeping team were terrific, they paid attention to little details and really made our week long stay enjoyable.

Hotel located in the city center of Reykjavik, from where you can easy reach all places of interest. The rooms are quite well unless they touch you the that is found in the lower part of the building where the windows face directly on to the street and intimacy that is left is little. Staff very helpful and willing to solve any inconvenience.

Nice hotel. Very central positionen in down town Reykjavik. There are plenty of good restaurants just outside the hotel. But the breakfast room is a bit lausy, but the breakfast is good. The staff is very friendly and helpfully. Had a room with a nice view over Ingólfstorg. There are no parking space to the hotel, so it's just to find one nearby.

Great hotel. Excellent service. Knowledgeable staff. The Plaza is probably one of the best hotels if you're visiting Iceland for a convention. It's fairly close to the Harpa as well as being within a few blocks of many of the popular restaurants and bars. The breakfast is consistently good and they will even store your luggage on check out day if you have a later flight. And if you have any problems just ask the front desk. They are always helpful with event booking or transportation.

The Good: Excellent location. Near major shopping/nightlife district. Staff is very helpful and accommodating; also the folks we dealt with spoke excellent English, so we had no problems. Breakfast buffet was quite expansive and was included in our price. The Bad: Our room was tiny. Bathroom and shower were also tiny. Water has a touch of a sulfuric smell to it. This is probably the same throughout Iceland, but it should be mentioned. Overall great location and reasonable value for budget travelers. Would stay here again if we did it all over again.

Very clean and tidy. Service people were great when I came down with the flu while there on business. Which brings up another point that there is no room service and any food outside of breakfast buffet must be purchased outside. Which sucks if you have the flu. Other downside is that I think my room was smaller than my kitchen. NONE of the advertised pictures look anything at all like my room. Shower was so small I could barely wash my hair without hitting the walls.
