Perfect setting, wonderful helpful lovely people here and this was the hotel I wanted and was lucky enough to book the last room so feeling blessed and lucky to of been here. Special thanks to Angela and Deborah and the young man on the front desk who were so wonderful helpful and I thank them.

Half decent hotel to use as base camp and crash breakfast would have been nice with some beans and a cook tomatoes but breakfast otherwise is good the hotel is more or less in the heart of the city so food etc is easy to find.

The concierge was wonderfully helpful, we had stunning views, breakfast was yummy and thoroughly enjoyed use of the spa facilities. Look forward to coming back next time we are in Reykjavik!

Extremely poor customer service! They have declined to allow us to change our booking despite the exceptional circumstances in the world at the moment. They have just kept our money and provided no service. We weren’t even asking for a refund just to change our reservation.

Besides the friendly staff and cozy rooms, the location is perfect. Right across the street from Harpa Concert Hall and the main bus stop for the free shuttle to Perlan Museum, day tours and local shops and restaurants! Loved our stay there!

Nice hotel, super friendly staff, front desk extremely helpful upon check-in and assisting with tours. 1st night dinner was great, beautiful view, watched the snow and mountain scenery.

We’ve had a wonderful three night stay here. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Nothing is too much trouble for the reception team who are very friendly and efficient. The Geo Thermal Spa is a lovely and unexpected use of space which is a great place to unwind. The Restaurant on the top of the hotel, called the Sky Restaurant serves a fabulous breakfast and a lovely evening meal.
I thoroughly recommend this Hotel.

A wonderful European style hotel— small rooms and bath, modern, sparse decor. Well located, clean, modern at a fair price in an expensive city. The Sky Bar & Restaurant offers good food and great views.

Great location but room very small. Shower was terrible as water went everywhere so not practical. Had an early morning check out so they gave us a cup of coffee with a plain croissant — disappointing as they could have at least just given us a roll with boiled egg or cheese.

Hub to everything downtown Reykjavik. Fairly good restaurant. Waiters are a bit curt. Shower is unlike anything in the US!

Hotel and food nice. Room small and I did ask for something special in the room for my mums birthday but there was nothing and a strong smell of sewage from shower and taps A lot of money asked for two nights for a double room €300 with only breakfast included Very expensive town and excursions.

We had a great stay in February, clean tidy rooms, fabulous breakfast choices, and the location really couldn’t be better, the harbour the mountains outside the window, bus stop for tours 2 min walk across the road, the restaurant is really good we had the beautiful meal on valentines evening, yummy cocktails. This hotel has everything you need to experience beautiful Iceland. And the bonus was the magical northern lights.

I had a great stay at Centerhotel. The restaurant was very nice at night but soooo crowded for breakfast. Choices are limited for breakfast but it was still OK. Rooms were nice and the view on the Harpa and the bay was a real plus.

Small room, very small bathroom, but everything clean. View of parking, but quiet. Great view to the sea/Harpa from the restaurant on the 8th floor.

Very nice hotel with sea view and a comfortable SPA, very helpful staff and good placement in walking distance from city center. I recommend visiting its sky Bart/restaurant as well. A bit too expensive compared to similar hotels in Europe.

Arnarhvoll is located right opposite Harpa, Reykjavík's main concert hall. Offering 104 stylish and comfortable rooms, restaurant, bar and a wellness area. The room we had was fairly compact but totally comfortable and did fine for us. Breakfast on the top floor was always great. The hotel staff were super friendly and they will help you book your excursions no problem at all. The spa is great, as I said, breakfast good, happy hour daily and the hotel is generally well placed for city centre walking.

A nice hotel for its price, I stayed 4 nights and it was a pleasant stay. I payed the extra charge to use the spa area on the bottom floor, which was really worth it! So amazing and relaxing after a long day out in the cold! The breakfast was delicious, and their lunches and dinner menues were pretty darn good too! The room was a bit small tho, and lacked some basic necessities like cutlery and soaps.

We just stayed for 1 night as we had a layover for flights. The hotel was in a great location and we paid extra for a sea viewing was definitely worth it. The hotel was handy to the music hall, harbour, shops and restaurants. The room was to a good standard for amenities and good cleanliness. The staff were friendly and welcoming. As we were leaving early for a flight (4.30am) they provided a "grab n go" breakfast with juice and coffee. The only downside was that we could hear people in other rooms and in the corridor.

Great location. Walking distance to the center of town. Rooftop bar and restaurant have great views. Complimentary breakfast is better than most. Rooms are rather small, including the shower.

First of all the location is perfect, right in front of the beautiful opera, the city being small, we are close to everything.
The view of the restaurant on the 8th floor is great, both in the evening (expensive) and in the morning at breakfast.
The big downside, the shower does not offer a window of protection sufficient, the floor of the shower is that of the bathroom, it make available a squeegee to clean the floor after the shower… very very special and especially always soaked… take several pairs of Socks Big thanks to the French receptionist.

Room and bed ok… shower a bit odd but water pressure fabulous. Location is perfect. If you are driving parking at hotel is limited to 5 cars! There is parking on street and across street for fee. We got the Break fast inc. In our stay. Definately worth it. Best breakfast ever!. Anything and everything was in it. Would stay again.

Location and breakfast top; Room ok but very thin walls and no closet but shelf; Bathroom very small, one is almost in the shower, the movable shower enclosure prepares a lot of noise. Defective lamps were not repaired until departure despite info at the reception. There are only 4-5 hotel parking spaces, but they are free of charge, otherwise there are many public parking spaces, which must be paid at designated times, however. Iceland is expensive and the price probably adjusted by the location, but overall the value for money does not match.

The sea-side view is magical.
The restaurant on the eighth floor offers an amazing view for a luxurious breakfast.
The spa is very friendly especially since we were there alone (paying) friendly welcome and modern and comfortable room.

Nice boutique hotel, rooms a bit small for two but well appointed. Bar, restaurant, spa, room service etc. Very helpful and friendly staff. Reasonable prices for Reykjavik (ie. Not as staggeringly expensive as some! )

Avoid room 108 at all costs! It is on the ground floor and in the corner of the building sandwiched between the cleaners store room and the WC. Woken every morning bright and early by the cleaners. Shower was the least practical I've ever had in a hotel. Rooms otherwise ok. Breakfast tasty and plentiful.

Great location. Breakfast was very good. Pleasant staff. But… Very small rooms. You literally can’t take a shower without water everywhere. No room to put your luggage, no place to unpack to. Ironing board was there but where do you put it? Getting ready to attend a wedding was a challenge in that room. Plus they nickel and dime you all the way, for early arrival, late departure, spa usage, local phone calls, you name it. For the amount of money they charge for the room, one could expect those to be complimentary. But as I said, can’t beat the location across from Harpa, so use your own judgement.

A very well located hotel in front of the Harpa, steps from downtown Reykjavik. The staff is very friendly and patient with the tourist who does not fluently speak English. The hotel, very basic, reminds me of economic hotel chains like Ibis, just without being economical. The bathrooms were clean, the shower was leaking, the whole floor was wet.

Excellent location with easy access to harbour, city and bus routes. Recommend paying extra for harbour view and also for the thermal pool facilities (open from 07:00 to 22:00 hours). Reception staff are friendly, helpful and proactive. Breakfast area is at top of the building allowing amazing views in all directions. Sister hotel (Isofolk) in the chain offer unique Icelandic menus. Again recommend.

The location is very good, close to the harbour and bus stop where many of the day tours leave from. There are many good bars and restaurants nearby. The rooms are small and those on the front are close to the busy street. We asked to move rooms as we struggled to sleep due to traffic noise. The staff on the desk were very helpful and moved us to a room at the back of the hotel without fuss. We lost our view across the harbour but didn’t mind this since it was December and therefore dark most of the time anyway! The Sky restaurant is very good and is reasonably priced for Reykjavík standards with the 10% discount for hotel residents. We were impressed with the quality of the food at breakfast and dinner and the staff were also very attentive. The basement Spa is worth a visit. We spent a relaxing hour here in the hot tub, sauna and steam room. Overall we were impressed with Centerhotel Arnarhvoll and would definitely recommend. Just try to request a room high up if you are bothered by street noise.

Fantastic location, easy walking to museums and shopping, restaurant on site excellent quality but same limited evening menu over four days could be an issue. Lots of other choices close by. Beautiful view over the Harbour. Rooms clean and warm, reception staff extremely helpful and plenty of choice on the breakfast buffet.

Location was very convenient (a short walk) to downtown Reykjavik. Clean room. Plenty of space for me as a solo traveler. Very nice breakfast. All in all a great stay.

Excellent location for Reykjavik, capital of Isladia. A few blocks from the downtown streets and in front of the Center Hall. Very good hotel. Nice people. Good breakfast.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Hotel room was small but clean and a great location. Coffee pot in room was nice. Major problem with the room was the bathroom shower door. It was only a half door that was hinged and every shower caused the floor to flood. Breakfast was included and was a nice buffet. With s great view of the harbor.

Good location within the city of Reykjavik. Across the road from the bus stops and close to the shops, bars and restaurant. The rooftop bar has great views and the staff were very friendly.

Easy walk to the old town, nice Seaview from our 4th floor room. Great breakfast spread! Sadly, at $309 a night, our hotel room does not have a closet! No shower stall that prevents the shower water from splashing on the floor, toilet, sink, and bathroom shelves. On a positive side, the hotel provides us with a squeegee to mop the shower water from the floor, toilet, sink, and walls — — still leaving us with water soaked towels and mats, oh well!

Units were clean, service was excellent, staff was knowledgeable, breakfast was included and the view at their rooftop bar was fantastic!

Well priced hotel which included a very nice breakfast which is allocated on the top floor which had stunning views of Reykjavik harbour Our hotel room was a little small and there was not a lot of room to put your clothes, that maybe ok if your stopping 2 or 3 days but not if your there for a week! Bed was very comfortable and clean and the Wi-Fi worked well. The room we had was at the back and could be a little noisy but saying that we would stop at this hotel again as it offered good value after all Iceland is a very expensive place.

Friendly staff and great location. They did charge 25 EU per night for the extra child's bed, which Thingholt down the street did not, so that was disappointing. Also, Thingholt had much better breakfast.

In the centre of Reykjavik in front of the Harpa is convenient for walking in the centre.

Stayed here my first and last night in iceland. Great location with great views. Good food at the beautiful restaurant on the top floor. Good service and the rooms are nice. Very comfortable. Nice place to stay.

The room we had was very, very small and in desperate need of some maintenance. Very little storage and a tiny hanging rail. The bathroom turned into a paddling pool after a shower as the shower screen leaked. We had a window that was floor to ceiling, but that narrow you couldn't really see out properly. The bar on the top floor was lovely and the food was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. For the price we paid I felt a bit miffed at our room considering the size of other rooms compared to ours. It didn't spoil our holiday I just wouldn't go back to this hotel.

Very nice hotel in an excellent location. Very close to local shops and restaurants. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable. Very different than in the USA but would happily stay again. Restaurant is exceptional. Very reasonably priced.

Nice hotel, with a wonderful sky lounge restaurant and bar, situated right across the street from "Harpa" in the center of Reykjavik. Hotel staff is polite and services minded, the cleaning is near perfect, have stayed there twice and have never had any complaints.

Iceland Air put me up here after missing my connecting flight. The staff at the hotel and sky bar made the travel disaster a much better experience!

Nice hotel in good location.

Hotel located 5 min walk from the main street (shops, restaurants, excursions purchases). Close to the magnificent cathedral and from the center of the Congress (the harpa, beautiful). Rooms with sea view, spacious, clean. For the deluxe, free access to the wellness (sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, bathrobes and slippers supplied by the hotel). Beautiful view from the breakfast.

Great City hotel located in the center of the city. Many hotspots in town are in walking distance. Some rooms have great view on the sea and mountains. Rooms are straightforward: not incredibly luxury, but you will find the basic necessities you'll need during your stay. Beds are comfortable. Friendly staff who is willing to help planning trips or give tips. Free Wi-Fi in the hotel.

Nice hotel with a nice restaurant on the top floor. If you stay here make sure you go to the spa in the basement. It's nice and relaxing!

Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. We were in room 602. Double aspect windows. Very comfortable bed. Great value for the price.

This is an excellent hotel. We stayed for four nights, and were really comfortable. The staff were great, helping us organise tours and buses to the airport. There is also a lovely spa area with a steam room, sauna and a hot tub, which was fabulous. So lovely after a freezing day hiking about snowy iceland! There are robes and slippers you can borrow from reception. Also the breakfast was excellent — lots to choose from. The restaurant evening menu was a little bar snacky — nachos and the like, but all the more reason to explore lovely Reykjavik as there are loads of fab places to go. Centrally located with lovely views across the water, and of the very cool Harpa. I would definitely stay here again.

We just returned from a 4 day adventure in Iceland and it was absolutely amazing. We stayed at the Centerhotel Arnahvoll which is a beautiful hotel with great views of the harbour and is only a 3 minute walk to the main street, Laugavegur. The breakfast was fantastic, the rooms are very comfortable and clean and the spa is amazing. I must say though that our favorite part about our stay was two incredibly and helpful staff members. Angel and Tara both work at the front desk and they were so incredibly friendly and accommodating. They provided us with fabulous recommendations regarding places to visit and restaurants to try out during our stay. They did a great job at accommodating all of our requests and have excellent customer service. A big thank you to you both.

We stayed at Centerhotel Arnarhvoll at the end of May 2013. This location is perfect with gorgeous views of the old harbor area and the Harpa Center. The hotel rooms were very clean and modern and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served on the 8th floor, also with gorgeous views of the harbor. Very, Very Highly Recommended.

(my stay was Feb. 2011) Excellent affordable hotel in the 101. And in a perfect location. If you can get a room facing the water, the views are brilliant. Either way, you're only a couple short blocks from all the best shopping and dining in the city, but you're not directly ON those streets, so there's no issue with crowd noise (things can get fun after 10pm on the main drag Friday and Saturday nights ;) ). Rooms are clean and simple. The complimentary breakfast is a great way to start a day. And the staff is knowledgeable ready to help (including pouring a drink from their small bar while you wait for the missus to make her way down). Bear in mind, if you're American, you might be expecting smiles and fawning from your front desk, and that doesn't happen here. But it's not an unfriendly thing, just the reserved nature of the people in general.

Fantastic view from 7th floor restaurant/bar. Rooms were clean and made good use of the space. Staff spoke perfect Icelandic and English, and were very knowledgable about the city. Across the street from Harpa Centre which made it perfect for the convention we attended and music events. 2 blocks from main shopping district. Also across the street is a path for a nice, brisk morning walk/run along the waterfront (est. 2 miles). No need to rent a car if staying here — everything is in walking distance. Wi-Fi worked perfectly.
