PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE: Pay attention to the negative reviews. It is extremely easy to see the good reviews and want to think the best of a place. When booking this hostel, I skimmed over the reviews and thought that these people were just spoiled, demanding travelers. No, it is true. I left the hostel today with my socks sticking to the floor — — it was incredibly dirty. I was locked out of the main room which is adjacent to the bathrooms, so am unable to take a shower or use the toilets (though the showers are not very pleasant and not very private). I am a 24 year old female traveling solo and have been to my fair share of good/bad hostels. I was supposed to be staying here for a week but after two days, have booked another hostel. I highly recommend to stay here at your own risk. I will say, the staff are very nice but do nothing to solve these issues of cleanliness, broken doors/key, etc. For that, I can only give two stars and hope other solo travelers realize the risks of staying here.

Stayed there for 4days in a 8bed room. + good price, +Good staff, +you get a locker, +toilets and showers are clean enough (everyday cleaning) + spacious kitchen and sofas + near to public transportation (Subway, Trams, buses) — Room is next to street and you hear Trams going all the time. — a little loud at nights if people are hanging out for cigerettes — any kind of people will stay. Not so fancy if you're concern about this fact. :D.

Absolutely not as represented on the internet. The showers are dirty, rooms without Tv and radio. Just a storage room with bed.

Location near an S-Bahn station, rooms very dirty (mold in the wet area, toilet dirty and seat defective, sink almost clogged, faucet loose, shower device disabled justice and thus too low, living area completely tapped and pampered, Defective beds, open sockets, dust and dirt on the entire floor area), on site are not agreed to further costs for bed linen as well as 20 euro slip deposit. Payment only BAR (this is not mentioned anywhere). All in all, it remains a hostel. But cleanliness and safety should be given in spite of everything. From my point of view NOT recommended.

I didn't do a reservation, I got there to pay there, the woman (I think she is the owner) didn't want to make the same price that was showing in hostelworld, and it is also necessary to pay extra 2 euros for bedsheets… The reception was full and she was also cooking, that means 25 minutes waiting to be able to ask any information or get your room key, she was also very unpolite, I would not recommend.

+ -Good room cleanliness -Amazing staff -One of the receptionist speaks something like 7 languages. She's insane! (in a good way) -Well-working Wi-Fi -Restaurant/chillout part is cozy and cool -Modest and affordable menu -Close to everything. Very diskreet location despite the tram passing at night. — : -DISGUSTING microwave. (when I was there) -Bad bathrooms. The showers are BEFORE the toilets. (Don't know about women's room) -Showers has no intimacy. Only a curtain. No carpets so the water is all over the floor. Mixed with shoes dirt it can get very ugly. And everybody pass in front of you while showering because of the toilet emplacement. If you want to take use the restaurant toilet. It's isolated and cleaner. Overall. You get very good value for your money. And the hostel is very cheap.

Room was very dirty. Sink clogged, table sticky/greasy, soil dirty, under the beds a thick layer of dust. The inventory belongs partly directly to the bulky waste, almost everything has been tapped, sometimes bad shaky. The bed linen has not been quite clean, maybe some of the ceiling gerieselt…

Zimmer stark verdreckt; Waschbecken verstopft gewesen, Tisch klebrig/schmierig, Boden verschmutzt, unter den Betten eine dicke Staubschicht. Das Inventar gehört teilweise direkt auf den Sperrmüll, fast alles abgegriffen, teilweise arg wackelig gewesen. Die Bettwäsche ist nicht ganz sauber gewesen, eventuell ist auch etwas von der Decke gerieselt …

Good for this unbeatable price, for example, it is recommended. For students, if you want to go to Berlin at a favorable price rate. When booking, be sure to get a room with a reasonable shower, better ask again. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are very run-down and poorly cleaned. The room was right on the street. Is at most suitable for sleeping out his frenzy and continuing to celebrate.

First of all, the hostel is so different from the pics on the website. This place is so dirty and disgusting, even the bedroom is really terrible and the hostel’s personal dont clean the bedroom so on the floor there are a lot of everything. The toilette is full of dust. Is so hard to clean with a swiffer? The only thing that save from this dirty hell is the owner of the place Who is always drunk but he is kind and nice. Dont come to this place.

The people running the hostel were very friendly and welcoming and totally willing to accommodate anything we asked for. They have a cafe where you check in and they have very cheap prices. There is a city tax that I didn't know about that you have to pay extra but that's not their fault. Their is also a price you pay for towels (which is standard) and sheets on the bed (which is not standard). I liked the people here a lot and the prices for food was very cheap, and everything was clean, but I did find it odd to be charged for linen. (can I use the bed without linen/sheets? I don't think so. I'm surprised that it was an extra charge. ) Other than this it was good. Everything was clean. Everyone working was very friendly. I would recommend the place for sure. It wasn't in the area of a lot of tourist things but it was right by an easy train to it all.

Well located hostel: not far away from the public transportation, nice area with supermarkets and bars nearby (the hostel itself has a bar). The rooms are OK: big individual lockers, the beds are comfortable, but there is a tram that passes in front of the hostel, so it's a little bit noisy; the curtains are useless, the morning sun can disturb. The personal is very nice and they will help you as much as possible. The bathrooms are not very clean, neither the common areas. Good cost-benefit.

Worst experience ever with an hostel. I arrive Friday night at 11pm just for one night. The receptionist give me the key and show me the room with my bed. The room is nice. It is a big dormitory with 6 beds. But the soil of the bathroom is completely flooded due to a problem in the shower. Ok no problem, it is an hostel, not a five stars hotel :-) Go out for the night with friends and come back at 5 am to sleep a little bit. Someone in my bed! this hostel just rent a bed to 2 different persons. I was force to finish my night on a public bench in the street. This is so unprofessional! If you want to avoid to find someone sleeping in your bed, please stay away from this place.

Neat little hostel in the heart of Friedrichshain. Surprisingly cheap considering the location. Great people from all over the world (but then again, it's Berlin so no big surprise here) and lovely staff. Shared kitchen and the corner Cafe are pretty cozy too. The dorm rooms are all ground level and can be accessed from the street. Beds/toilets/showers/etc are okay for the price.

I would not come back to this hostel, I did not feel comfortable there especially first night when only men were sleeping in my room. The bar was dark and not cozy at all, I went there basically only to sleep and I was happy that I had another hostel booked for other night. And I was beaten by bed bugs! Still remaining spots on my body:// Wifi does not work neither in kitchen nor in the rooms. The building is old so be prepared for the smell.

It's the worst hostel I have seen out of all my travels to different countries. I was not impressed when I saw the building… One of the dormitories had a door open to the street and you could see that it was tiny with small banker beds. Certainly not safe to leave your stuff there, and it didn't look that clean either. When I arrived to reception to check in I had to cancel. It's in a very poor and ugly area in Berlin. It's hard to find the main entrance. The check in is at 4pm. The receptionist is not human, he is as selfish as it can get, he would not let you you check in one minute earlier than four even if there would be plenty of available rooms and the cleaners would had finished their job hours before 4pm. He thinks that reasoning is a waste of time. Also, it's very far from the city, at least 45mins on public transport. I don't understand the good reviews, as most of them may be from friends from this hostel or people that just came from a war country, which this hostel may appear to be great then for them.

Very small and not so nice for us but perfectly adequate.

Ok hostel. But with many bedbugs. My whole body is now covered in these after staying there for a weekend.

Great hostel with good mattresses, always clean bathrooms… The rooms have street access so it's perfect for when you want to!

Great atmosphere, great and helpful staff, very good location. That was by far the best hostel I've ever been to. 10/10 for quality = price.

Schlafmeile was a very good and reasonably priced way to stay in Berlin. I really enjoyed it! The staff was helpful, the room was tidy, the bethroom was fine.

Super friendly service. And by super friendly I really mean outstanding! They don't have Wi-Fi in rooms though.

I really enjoyed my stay at Schlafmeile. The staff is excellent and you get great value for your money. There's nice park at the back, plus local shops and restaurants.

Super cool and not expensive hostel! Hygiene is correct, the neighborhood is quiet and located close to Nice. The common room is perfect to meet people, and start the frenzied night and surveyed the Berlin pavement in cheerful company!
The cheeseburger from the hostel at 8:00 in the morning are highly recommended! ;).

Best hostel I've stayed in, hands down. Literally the best in every category. Had a blast, and the owner is GREAT. Studying abroad in Greece, spent 3 weeks on Spring break in Europe, staying in hostels the whole time, so I have some experience.

About 7 min from the s-Bahn away. Everything is very clean. The new Zealand owner receives you totally open and warm. Rooms are also clean. Internet free of charge. Nice place to stay!
