Greetings! I am a Captain for Ethiopian Airlines here in Addis. My wife and I love the Hilton Hotel here. The entire staff is exemplary in every way. We would especially like to recognize Executive Chef Leon Hatton Jones. His culinary expertise and interpersonal skills are to be admired. We would also like to recognize Eleab Kebede from the pool area staff. Eleab made us feel at home. We shall return to The Hilton many times in the future. It is quite obvious that the management at The Hilton Addis Ababa selects the right people for the right positions. This is so refreshing! May God Bless You All! Captain Joel and Ning Edwards.

Nice place and yummy food.

Went there for lunch yesterday with the family we order three dishes it took one hour to get a pasta and shrimp and Asian chicken, after 1, 5 hour I was still waiting for an apple pie which I had to cancelled. This was the worst service I experienced in a Hilton. Not one excuse from the staff. If you go there make sure to plan ahead and you have to push the staff to get drinks, food.

Good place. Scenic location. But need to improve room quality at the old wing. Very convenient with many facilities including banks, ticketing office & many more. Staff is friendly and supportive.

It is a quite comforting place and its staff are disciplined and smiles. It is a serene place where I choose to go.

The food and service have been excellent. When I left my phone in the coffee shop Dejene held it behind the counter until I came back, warmly greeted me and said “Mr. Morris I have your phone. ”

Decent hotel by US standards, gorgeous hotel by Ethiopian standards. Has everything we need that we haven’t found consistently in other hotels in the country: reliable internet, comfortable beds, hot water, a pool and Jacuzzi. But the attention to detail that you’d get in a Hilton in the US just isn’t there: mediocre repairs, water spots/staining, everything is not spotless. The food has been excellent! I was less-than-thrilled with the 50% up charge for having laundry (which was already expensive by US standards) done in the hotel “because it’s the weekend;” then to only find an additional 10% added for “service” and 15% added for tax. Overall, though, a solid property.

The staff here at the Hilton are hands down FANTASTIC! Extremely helpful, thank you for making my stay in Addis memorable! Excellence service all around! Again, thank you so much!

Nice hotel… just a bit old and you can deel that in the rooms… but getting renovated soon… so should be a great place to stay post renovation… amazing food… and friendly staff.

Great location for those in town for work. Lovely pool heated by natural hot springs. Very friendly staff staff who let me check in early and out late. Rooms are a little dated and run down. But plenty of charm here.

Good hotel. Lovely helpful service / staff. Great food choice. But overall not of the quality of a Hilton.

This grand old lady of Addis is now seriously showing her age. More a 3* than a 4* and Addis now offers a number of far superior modern 5* hotels for the same price. If a pool is important then it's still the best. If not your money is better invested elsewhere!

Mixed feelings about this place. It's the Hilton. Fine okay. It's full of security. Okay. There's a bar and clean bathrooms. Okay okay okay. The restaurant was flooded with Chinese food buffet. Awesome. I love Chinese. But out of respect and honour for my homeland, the traditional vibes are too far out the window. Did I eat cat? Dog? Donkey? Shrimp? Salmon? Beef? Fish? Lamb? Chicken? I'll never know. Ham? Ugh. Not okay. Some employees look like they could use a vacation themselves. Not okay. Or a doctor. Triple not okay. Mixed feelings. It's been about a decade since I tested the swimming pool. Memory prevailing, I'll reupdate. Ps. It has the only baby diaper changing station I've seen in all of Addis' public bathrooms. Very good to know.

A well maintained older building with large grounds that have swimming pool, tennis courts and an old mini-golf course that we used for our morning walk. The spa has reasonably priced massages which were great after the long flight.

This is the worst. Hilton Hotel Group for popular brand you don't care much about your hotel in Addis. I guess this brand only takes care of it's more popular purse and regards Africa as low class. Dissatisfaction, disappointment, dismal a total sham. Is putting in mildly. Ethiopia is a beautiful country and I am not from Ethiopia. Any one can sell a product but when you are selling a brand don't choose who gets the best. 1 star is too much.

Good and safe space for an overnight stay. Building is very old, so don't expect too much.

Has an antique feel. The rooms are good, they have a selection of food which is handy if you do are not the adventurous eater. They have an awesome squash court and other outdoor based activities. The hotel food is pricey so check out the local restaurants outside the hotel but choose wisely hygiene is not entirely a given. Otherwise Enjoy!

The guards with AR15’s are very unsettling. Breakfast was presented very nicely and the back patio was exceptional. The hotel rooms were run down and unimpressive, and the lobby could use a good scrub and new paint.

The hotel is clean although you see it is old and already has an air to transport you to another era. The hotel is huge and with many services, shops, gym, pool, rooftop for executives, restaurant in the pool, etc. The bathrooms should be renewed a bit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a tall building so it has views of the city. Event Rooms.

Lively place. Good parking and outdoors. Great location good bar and ample gift shops with lovely pool and restaurants. Have super market, pastry shops and great for marriage and other celebrations. Very green and excellent by all means.

What to avoid when you have the choice. Especially be careful of the internet connection, you bill very expensive; and the worst of it is that it does not tell you that it is charged. You know at the cheick out… a true scam!

I wondered why such a Hotel would have no complementary Wi-Fi. And why some one could not say there is no complementary unless you are a member. Usually hotels give options of a limited complimentary or upgrade. Can someone also tell me. I was asked to pay 10 dollars for the use of Wi-Fi which was equivalent to 258 KS inclusive of tax. I checked the exchange rate later and it is not adding up. What exchange rate does Hilton use?

Not worth the money. You can find better and cheaper hotels then this fake Hilton. Food not good — got stomach problems. Everything old, slow. Tea and coffee and everything what they serve can be bought at any place around city for 1/5 of the price… Trap for tourists.

Great service and facilities. Swimming pool, sauna, massage availlable. Conference room and nice restaurant mixing local and european food. Very nice stay!

Very good hotel. Rooms are a little dated. Beds are excellent. The best thing about the hotel are the gardens, the pool, the shops in the lobby and most and for all the high hospitallity of the staff.

I liked the stay for the most part, those I experienced two situations where I felt second class when it came to service for a White person to a Black person. It was seen by our group of fourteen, and myself. I suggest you have a informative staff conference.

Beautiful hotel in Addis. Really a fantastic property with comfortable rooms and good service. Also the breakfast is amazing. Definitely the best in Addis!

Visited the Hilton for an event. The facilities were great although the decor appeared a little dated. The lobby is like a little Village. There are bureau de change, jewellers, airline & travel agency, gift shops, cafe, restaurant, business Centre and coffee ceremonies. Our event was held in one of the large rooms on the ground floor near the entrance. Very accessible venue for events and shopping.

Pretty surprised that in this 21st Century, one would still need to pay to get access to internet in a “high class hotel”! Nevertheless, paying a couple of US dollars to browse for few hours may and could be understandable, yet paying up to 10 US dollars to surf for only 1 or 2 hours seems excessive. Besides, the internet connection is just a nightmare: 2 to 5 minutes to open a single page! “Less class hotels”, in this, do better.

A good place to spend your Holiday.

This place needs a tremendous amount of work to bring it up to par. It’s in need of repairs. The service at the cafe is pretty bad so are the pastries. I had to ask them to return my order when they tried to serve with a used plate and silverware.

I was stay there for one night. It is good only one thing is I'm not likening is Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is chargeable 24 hours they charge you 10usd.

Beautiful hotel with really great charm. Very friendly staff. You feel like you're at home. Garden and pool are second to none. The restaurants and bar are excellent. The rooms require an urgent renovation.

Has everything you need. From phone cards to a great cultural coffee shop to a friendly staff.

This is the hotel ethopian airlines uses for their business class passengers, oh boy I have no idea where this hotel gets their 4 stars from! Its the 2nd time I had to stay here and its really sup-par, I was asked to pay for Wi-Fi! Service is terrible, 2 of the 3 elevators are not working. I am so glad I dont have to pay for this. I would really recommend ET to review this accomodation, next time ill ask them to rather book me in the economy hotel, I think it will ve much better! Such a great airline but such a bad hotel.

Stayed there twice. Wonderful room and facilities. Convenient location.

Comfortable beds. The calzone I had was delicious and had good crust. You won't get sick eating here.

Very poor respect for customer whom are coming in at the restaurant. By blocking or NO service Wi-Fi area at the hotel. This kind of service is free in all the world… even small cafeteria and restaurants at the road corner. PLUS The restaurant food items are TOO expensive WHEN compared in the CITY hotel all service. The management of the hotel are dumping the Excellent Hilton hotel name and it's volume work With no debit. They are salary collector.

I hope this is not the best hotel in the city. The rooms are really rundown. The grounds are nice.

Great hotel but quite old. The food is great and the hospitality is warm.

Hilton is an old hotel so I never stay before but will consider to stay in the future. I have been here several times for business needs. This is the first time I took the time to sit down and took the food and drank. The food is much nice compare with other hotels in Ethiopia. The outdoor swimming is heated and open for non-guest.

Nice clean hotel with personable staff especially those at the entrance, the restaurant and room cleaning. The reception staff though correct did not appear to be as warm or welcoming as the rest of the staff.

A little dated but still a nice place to stay with it's own bakery and small grocery store. Some nice in-house souvenir shops as well.

This is one of the oldest hotels in Addis. The garden is still the best corner in the city with a amazing pool area. With sunny day is the best. The building is very old.

Usually I don't like to write reviews for Hotels. This time I have to do it because of the above and beyond services provided by Hilton Addis staffs. First thing first… Hilton Addis staff was Top notch, incredible and very professional. They went above and beyond to assist me. They took a very personal interest to help my team and I. They were just amazing people. Second, the amenities of the hotel was fantastic. The breakfast was always fresh and delicious. The spa and gym was great. I stayed in this place for 45 nights without any problems. My special THANKS goes to Rhael, Almaz, Addis, Selam, Yemisrach, Solomon, Emebet, Zahara, and Hanna. You guys were truly amazing. Thank You Hilton Addis for greatest memories and finest levels of service and hospitality. I will miss you guys!

Service is good. Food also good. Spa (massage) is good and quite cheap. Outdoor pool is hot. In the lobby very nice Ethiopian coffee.

Dated rooms, stale, staff service slow, food mediocre, have to pay for Wi-Fi. People are nice though.

The best hotel in Addis. They have three ATMs and a great bar. I wen there for the ATM and had not anything to say in a negative way, but hey… It is the Hilton.

I loved the experience, but my hilton honours was not creditted the points for that night I registered! why?

It is down right impossible to get hold of anyone on the phone at the hotel. I spent half and hour trying to get through, the phone either just rings or gives a busy tone. Very frustrating if you need to make arrangements!

Absolute chaos, I'm still not certain if my daughter has been allocated the King Hilton room I booked and paid for on her behalf. The last communication I had with her was when she had been waiting at reception for two hours twenty three minutes as reception were unable to verify the booking due to internet problems. It is now four hours later and even Hilton customer services in the States were unable to reach Addis Ababa and had to send an email to confirm the booking. I've tried all the telephone numbers and whilst they worked for a short while initially they have not been working for the past two hours. They call this for star service!

Greatest hotel I have ever seen.
