Tucked away in narrow streets this is a charming hotel, beautifully restored.

I stayed 2 nights at this charming hotel in May 2026. My room on the second floor was great. However because of the altitude I found the stairs hard work, no lift. Staff helped with luggage.

My husband and I are fairly well-traveled, and I can say without hesitation that our stay at the Plaza Grande was one of the finest hospitality experiences we've ever had.

I am so happy that I chose Hotel Plaza Grande for my destination wedding welcome party.

A local guide from Cuenca, Ecuador suggested this hotel. As soon as I set foot in the hotel, I was impressed. The door is small and you could almost miss it walking on the street.

The location is good the personnel very friendly breakfast is good.

I arrived at night with a transfer arranged through the hotel. The door wasn't opened, and I had to wait for 15 minutes. Fortunately, the taxi driver didn’t leave.

We stayed here for three nights. The room was an ok size.
We didn't like the fact that the shower was separate from the toilet and basin. The shower was quite small.

Everything is wonderful — professional, friendly, helpful, central location, great breakfast, laundry, parking. Eduardo and his family are so welcoming. Thank you for a great stay.

We stayed two nights at Kinde House and it was great. Edouard quickly replied to any questions and was eager to help us to enjoy our stay in Quito.

If you’re in Quito book this hotel! Walking distance to many things from attractions to restaurants. The hotel is an old home and charming. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.

Excellent location, steps to historic district, or public transportation. Staff was wonderful and quick to respond to any needs. Breakfast is delicious. Historic interior design.

Its a nice honest family run hotel. Dont expect luxury for the price here. Mattresses are a bit hard, but I prefer that over sagging mattresses in other hotels which give me back pain.

For 9, 80$ a night for a 2person bedroom, this is a really good deal!

Hotel staff was super nice, rooms were clean, shower had great water pressure, good Wi-Fi and felt very safe. Very good decorations inside the hotel as well! Would recommend 10/10

Very nice traditional Spanish nobility room, modern bath, super view of Plaza Santo Domingo, located in the historic center, clean, a bit cold but it has bathrobes and good blankets.

This was a lovely stay that felt very safe and had a beautiful view. We stayed in the honeymoon suit, where we had a panoramic view of Quito. It was beautiful during the day and during the night.

Hotel San Francisco was right where we wanted to be, downtown in the colonial section with the ability to walk to the squares.

The host was very patient and kind with us and showed us all of the good places to go in Quito. They also showed us around their beautiful 300 year old building and it gave us a very homely feel.

This is an interesting place to stay which is a good value and at a great location for visiting the old town sites. Breakfast was really great too!

Stayed in January 2024. Arrived late and was welcomed with a smile. Rooms are comfortable and quiet since mine looked out into the closed inner lobby.

I loved this place! First time in Ecuador and was with a group from my university. Beautiful old Spanish mansion and large, comfortable and clean rooms. They did my laundry for $1 a pound.

Had a lovely time at Hostal History. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet, relaxed then I would definitely go here. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was great.

It's a great location right next to the Historical Centre and also the bus station Marin close by.
The room was bigger than expected with a triple bed, that was great.

Hotel La Cierva de San Marcos is a good option for travelers. The staff were helpful and efficient in arranging transport and airport pick-up.

Previous reviews were a bit confusing, I read them just before arriving to the hotel.
I was a bit uncertain after that, but our experience was great.

Wonderful remodeled historic Spanish style building in the historic center of Quito. The rooms are elegant and the place is quite beautiful. There’s a rooftop bar with incredible views.

Super helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable rooms and beds. The location is very central to the historical district.
