Quito Hotels near Viewpoint El Panecillo

I’m staying at Friends Hotel & Rooftop in Quito’s historic center, and I really like it. The hotel itself isn’t luxurious, but it has a lot of character and the location is excellent.

We stayed here on our way to the Galapagos and our return. It is a beautiful, wonderful, clean friendly hotel.

The location is excellent, the hotel is situated directly on Independence Square in the heart of Quito’s historic centre.

My husband and I are fairly well-traveled, and I can say without hesitation that our stay at the Plaza Grande was one of the finest hospitality experiences we've ever had.

The Illa Experience Hotel was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. The hotel building is an architect’s dream, with interesting features throughout.

We got an amazing room which had a separate seating area and a good size bathroom. The reception was very good, staff were wonderful and organized a cultural event every late afternoon.

A local guide from Cuenca, Ecuador suggested this hotel. As soon as I set foot in the hotel, I was impressed. The door is small and you could almost miss it walking on the street.

The location is good the personnel very friendly breakfast is good.

I stayed while I was in Quito for four weeks on business. Couldn't be happier with my choice — the accomodations were beautiful, the entire staff are wonderful people.

Gorgeous hotel with such a cool history, staff are so kind and helpful. The decorations are so well curated and beautiful! A wonderful place to stay.

I arrived at night with a transfer arranged through the hotel. The door wasn't opened, and I had to wait for 15 minutes. Fortunately, the taxi driver didn’t leave.

We stayed here for three nights. The room was an ok size.
We didn't like the fact that the shower was separate from the toilet and basin. The shower was quite small.

It was the best hostel we’ve ever stayed at. We played games, learned salsa, and ate really well. The atmosphere was amazing such a great vibe.

We did the free walking tour today with Louis. We met at the rooftop of the Community Hostel, which is a beautiful space with a magnificent view and delicious looking food.

Really enjoyed staying here, it’s a hostel but right at the top end, we had a beautiful and big en-suite room. Staff super friendly and the place was huge.

Great hostel, with a good restaurant that serves dinner & breakfast which we enjoyed.
We had a private bedroom overlooking the courtyard, the shower was great!

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It was located very close to downtown, only minutes walking to all the restaurants and the beautiful grand square. The rooms are very comfortable.

Wonderful spot to stay in Quito on a budget. The staff were welcoming and very helpful! Room was simple but clean and the shower is hot.

Mama Cuchara by Art Hotels is a genuinely sophisticated property that stands apart from the typical hotel experience.

Our guide recommended this place and made a reservation for us. We had dinner at the rooftop bar.

Great location and amazing atmosphere! The hotel is beautiful inside and the staff are incredible. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this hotel.

Tucked away in narrow streets this is a charming hotel, beautifully restored.

This is clearly the most luxurious hotel in Quito & every part of it — from the staff, to the decor, to the food, to the location — is top notch!

Casa Gangotena proved to be the perfect home base for exploring Quito.

If you’re in Quito book this hotel! Walking distance to many things from attractions to restaurants. The hotel is an old home and charming. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.

Excellent location, steps to historic district, or public transportation. Staff was wonderful and quick to respond to any needs. Breakfast is delicious. Historic interior design.

Its a nice honest family run hotel. Dont expect luxury for the price here. Mattresses are a bit hard, but I prefer that over sagging mattresses in other hotels which give me back pain.

For 9, 80$ a night for a 2person bedroom, this is a really good deal!

Everything is wonderful — professional, friendly, helpful, central location, great breakfast, laundry, parking. Eduardo and his family are so welcoming. Thank you for a great stay.

We stayed two nights at Kinde House and it was great. Edouard quickly replied to any questions and was eager to help us to enjoy our stay in Quito.

Hotel staff was super nice, rooms were clean, shower had great water pressure, good Wi-Fi and felt very safe. Very good decorations inside the hotel as well! Would recommend 10/10

We loved our stay! The hotel staff was lovely and so helpful. The place was beautiful and very charming in a central location that makes it easy to explore old town Quito.

The host was very patient and kind with us and showed us all of the good places to go in Quito. They also showed us around their beautiful 300 year old building and it gave us a very homely feel.

What a unique and authentic experience. The owner is very welcoming and proud to show you around this 300 year old property.

This was a lovely stay that felt very safe and had a beautiful view. We stayed in the honeymoon suit, where we had a panoramic view of Quito. It was beautiful during the day and during the night.

Hotel San Francisco was right where we wanted to be, downtown in the colonial section with the ability to walk to the squares.

Charming and warm building and staff. Beautiful decor of antiques and hand made ceiling in the large salon of Thai historic boutique hotel.

This is an interesting place to stay which is a good value and at a great location for visiting the old town sites. Breakfast was really great too!

Very nice traditional Spanish nobility room, modern bath, super view of Plaza Santo Domingo, located in the historic center, clean, a bit cold but it has bathrobes and good blankets.

Beautiful old house, very classy. Spotless clean, good sized room, spacious bathroom with nice hot shower. Excellent breakfast and very attentive staff.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid Hotel in Quito’s Historic Center.
Hotel La Cierva de San Marcos is a good option for travelers. The staff were helpful and efficient in arranging transport and airport pick-up.

Stayed in January 2024. Arrived late and was welcomed with a smile. Rooms are comfortable and quiet since mine looked out into the closed inner lobby.

I loved this place! First time in Ecuador and was with a group from my university. Beautiful old Spanish mansion and large, comfortable and clean rooms. They did my laundry for $1 a pound.

Had a lovely time at Hostal History. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet, relaxed then I would definitely go here. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was great.

It's a great location right next to the Historical Centre and also the bus station Marin close by.
The room was bigger than expected with a triple bed, that was great.
